Lilly

Chapter 2

Kagome left Lilly in the Living room to watch TV with Souta. Kagome walked out of the living room where she saw her mother at the kitchen table fixing her a glass of coffee. Kagome gave her mom a smile and poured her a glass of coffee and came to sit down with her mother.

" She seems to be doing great and she does talk real well for a three year old so she can tell me some things she needs. It might be alright mom." Kagome told her mother.

" Yes, it might be just fine." Amy said.

" Mom, is Lilly my cousin or my daughter?" Kagome asked confused with the whole thing in a way.

" Well, thats hard to explain. You see, they are not really your auntie and uncle." Amy told her daughter.

" Wait, what? I thought they were, then why do we all call them my auntie and uncle?" Kagome asked now even more confused.

" Well, Ellen was my best friend ever since first grade and when you were born she was always helping me out with you. So, when you started to learn how to talk you started calling her auntie Ewen." Amy smilled at the memory or that. " Ellen thought it was so cute, so she let you call her that. She was like family to me so we made her family." Amy stated to her daughter.

" So, Lilly is actually my daughter and not my cousin too." Kagome said.

" Yes, I'm sorry you had to find out like this. I really didn't think it would matter if I told you or not since Ellen was really like my sister." Amy said taking a swig of her coffee.

" Its okay mom, I'm not mad." Kagome said. Ms. Higurashi just nodded her head and smiled. Kagome heard soft foot steps coming and she turned to see Lilly come.

" I'm sweepy." Lilly said.

" Aww, I'll put you to sleep." Kagome said picking her up and taking her bag from the floor beside the door and took her up stairs to her room and she closed the door. Once inside Kagome took the bag and set it down and took Lilly to put her in the crib. Once Lilly was in the crib Kagome handed her the little teddy bear.

" Are you my mommy now?" Lilly asked yawning afterwards.

" If you want me to be sweety. I don't want to take your really mommy's place." Kagome told Lilly running her fingers through her hair.

" Can I caw you my mommy?" Lilly asked with another yawn.

Kagome smilled, " Sure baby." Lilly smilled back closing her eyes.

" Night mommy." Lilly whispered as closed her eyes all the way and went to sleep.

Kagome patted her daughters head and smilled at hearing Lilly say mommy for the first time. Kagome tucked the cover around Lilly to make sure she didn't get cold and took the bag from the floor so she can put the clothes up.

In the bag it had shirts, shorts, and little cute dresses. All the outfits will look cute on Lilly. Once all the clothes were put away Kagome put the bag in her closet out of the way and she went down stairs to see what her mother was doing.

Down stairs Amy was baking a Strawberry cake. Kagome thought the cake smelt great. " Mom do you want my help?" Kagome asked trying to be nice.

" No sweetheart, I"m fine. Is Lilly asleep now?" Amy asked.

" Yeah, she went right asleep." Kagome told her.

" Thats good then." Kagome's mom said as she stirred the batter in.

Kagome smiled and walked out and into the living room to see Souta play a video game. " Having fun Souta?" Kagome asked.

" Yeah, I just have to get past this guy and I'm onto the next level." Souta said moving back and forth playing the game.

Kagome smiled and decided to go outside to get some fresh air. Once outside Kagome felt the wind blow against her face and through her hair. It felt good and it soothed her.

Now, the only thing she had to worry about is Inuyasha. He should be coming sometime tomorrow and Kagome wasn't sure if she was ready to leave Lilly after just meeting her. She wanted to bond with Lilly even more. Kagome smiled at what Lilly said when she asked her if she could call her mommy. Kagome sighed and decided it was kind of late so she wanted to go to bed.

When Kagome maded up stairs she closed her bedroom door and she checked on Lilly to see if she was alright. Lilly was cuddled up to her teddy bear and sound asleep still. Kagome smiled and changed into a pair of blue sweat pants and a white shirt to sleep in. After she brushed her hair and brushed her teeth she climbed in bed and went asleep.

Around 8AM Kagome woke up and made her bed back up before going down stairs and making her a cup of coffee. She noticed her mother was already at the table reading the morning newspaper with her cup of coffee beside her.

" Good morning mom." Kagome said in a soft voice.

" Morning dear, I see your up early." Amy said in the same soft voice.

" Yeah, I'm getting everything ready for when Inuyasha comes." Kagome said taking some coffee out of the coffee maker.

" Are you going to try and take Lilly or am I going to keep her." Amy asked her daughter.

" I don't want to leave since we just met and all. Then, it will be really weird for her to be in the past. I'm going to see if Inuyasha will let me stay here for a little longer. This is important enough." Kagome said sitting down with her mom with a hot cup of coffee in her hand.

" Yeah, it should be for him, but you know how Inuyasha is." Amy said smiling a bit.

" Yes, I know." Kagome said giggling.

About an hour later Kagome went back up stairs to see if Lilly was awake. In the crib Lilly was sitting up playing with her teddy bear and some other little stuff animals Kagome put in her crib last night.

" Hey baby, I see your awake." Kagome said picking her up and making sure Lilly had her teddy with her.

" Yes mommy, I woke up an you were gone." Lilly said giving Kagome a hug.

" Well, come on baby. I'll bring you down stairs and fix you a bowl of cereal." Kagome said bringing Lilly down stairs. Kagome put Lilly in her high chair before fixing her a bowl of Fruit Loops. While Lilly ate Kagome went up stairs to brush her teeth and put her hair in a ponytail, not bothering to change just yet.

Once Lilly was done Kagome took her into the living room and put her inside the playpen that Kagome made for her that had all kinds of baby toys inside. Kagome smile as her daughter picked up a baby doll and played with it.

Once her daughters attention was off her and onto the doll Kagome left the room, but made sure Souta was watching her. Kagome went inside the kitchen to see her mother have brownies on the table already made.

" When did you cook those mom?" Kagome asked.

" I fixed those after the cake. I remember how these kind of treats always made your day as a baby so I decided to make some for Lilly to enjoy." Amy said giving her daughter a smile.

Before Kagome could answer her mother she felt a jewel shard come through the well. Not long after feeling the jewel shard she heard somebody call her from up stairs. Kagome turned to face her mother with a smile. " Show time." Kagome said turning around.
Inuyasha came through the doorway and into the kitchen to see Kagome not dressed yet and only in her PJ's while Ms. Higurashi had some kind of chocolate cake on the table.

Inuyasha walked up to Amy and asked for a cake and Ms. Higurashi smiled and handed him one. Kagome just rolled her eyes and sat down at the table with him still chewing on the cake.

" Wench, its time for you to go back. Its been three days and we need to start our journey again." Inuyasha said after swallowing the cake down.

" I can't" Kagome simply said.

" What do you mean you can't. These shards aren't going to form legs and come to us theirselves ya' know." Inuyasha said crossing his arms.
" What is so much more damn important then the shards now?" Inuyasha asked.

" Lilly." Kagome said and as soon as Kagome said Lilly's name, Lilly came through the doorway dragging her teddy by the arm behind her. " Mommy, I'm thiwsty." Lilly.

Kagome turned to face Lilly and smiled before sitting up and picking Lilly up to set her ontop of the counter. Once Lilly was okay ontop of the counter Kagome got her a glass and poured her some orange juice from out of the frigerator.

Lilly said thank you as Kagome set her down on the floor. " Go watch TV with Souta, okay baby." Kagome said.

" Okay mommy." Lilly said leaving everybody in the kitchen and going to watch TV with Souta.

Kagome turned to face a wide eyed Inuyasha. Kagome cleared her voice looked down to the ground. " I'm sorry Inuyasha, but I need to spend some time with Lilly before I leave her again." Kagome said.

" She doesn't smell like you. How is she your child?" Inuyasha asked looking at Kagome.

" Her parents died and they left me with her. I'm all she has left thats close to a mother. Inuyasha, I can't leave her just yet. I hope you understand?" Kagome said biting her lower lip.

Inuyasha sat up and groaned. " Fine, but I'm staying here with you. I want to make sure your actually staying her to take care of Lilly and not doing this so we don't have to look for the shards." Inuyasha said crossing his arms.

" What ever Inuyasha. I'm just glad your letting me stay." Kagome said giving Inuyasha a hug.

Inuyasha didn't mind the hug, but he saw Ms. Higurashi look at them and then smile so he broke apart from Kagome with a blush on his cheeks. " Okay, thats enough of that." Inuyasha said crossing his arms back.

Kagome just giggled at him. " I'm leaving to tell the gang about this, but I will be back." Inuyasha said.

" Okay, then I'll fix you some breakfast when you get back." Kagome said and right after that said,Inuyasha ran out the house so he could hurry back for breakfast.
