CHAPTER 2: Loneliness.

He stared at the wall right in front of him. There were scarce portraits and small paintings hanging on it. The light gray background color of his dorm used to ease him. But now, as he stood in front of his bedroom door, he saw no color. Therefore: felt no peace.

He could see her leaving. The vision of beauty walking out his door again and again. Like a broken record. She had left him again, and for his brother nonetheless. But he knew she would be back as soon as he sought her. Wouldn�t she?

Sesshoumaru sighed heavily, rubbing the bridge of his aristocratic nose as he closed his eyes. Did he love her or was it just a new, wicked kind of lust? Sure he hadn�t felt this STRONG for his other bitches. But that�s what they were, just gold-digger whores. While his precious angel was simply that: a gorgeous, kind, loving angel� Scratch that�

She was a gorgeous, kind, loving, MARRIED angel.

�Fuck.� He cursed under his breath. His head hurt out of lack of sleep and his stomach craved for food. He had skipped meals three days in a row now because he had been looking for her. Oddly enough, ever since she left him four days ago, he had felt the urge to apologize. For what exactly, he was uncertain.

He found out later at last night�s dinner with his father and relatives that she had left for the weekend with her jackass husband. His brother of course. He rather starve to death than eat bitter, bile-flavored food�
Of course he made up an excuse for not eating. He had been suffering this kind of torture for almost eight months now. Oh, but what was worse�

His father wanted a grandson, he just told them tonight. As if it wasn�t enough for the tricky old bastard to have him, the eldest: Sesshoumaru, around. OH NO! The Great Inuken Taisho wanted his sons married and the first one of them to have a child would become the rightful heir of the whole Taisho empire. What a little SOB was his father.
Inuken pointedly HURRIED him, Sesshoumaru, to get married so he wouldn�t lose his leverage position as the eldest. He was 26 years old and single, while his despicable brother had recently turned out 21, and was a six months newlywed.

It had been THREE days without seen her. And they were almost as painful as the whole week she left for her honeymoon.

Oh, those six dreadful months� He had lost HER to him� In a way. Because she still came to see him�she still allowed him to worship her body at nights. His heart clenched as he felt the coldness in his bed. He needed her.

Right now, he realized, he missed her.

�What�s wrong with you?� asked a slightly concerned Inuyasha to his wife.

�Nothing�it�s just�I thought you would want to, er� spend time with me.�

�You know we didn�t come here for pleasure. I�m working. My dad has given me an important assignment for the company. I have to get it done by tomorrow morning.�

�But you could at least sleep on the bed! With me!� said an almost desperate Kagome.

�I can�t! I told you before! I can�t rest until this is finished!�

�But you have been awake most of the weekend!�

�Had I known you would be acting like this, I wouldn�t have brought you!�

I didn�t even want to come! She almost shouted to him. �Inuyasha, I�m worried about you�� her voice had turned soft, like a whisper. �I�m lonely��

The sight drove away his anger, so he stood from the chair and wrapped his arms around her slim waist.

�I know darling, but I promise I�ll make it up to you�. He nuzzled her neck, and gave it a tiny kiss. Kagome froze, the lack of touch in her skin taking its toll upon her body. She shivered. Then�

His cell phone rang.

She sighed soundlessly as Inuyasha answered it and walked away. Five minutes later he stormed happily into the bedroom again, re-attaching himself to his desk.

�Inuya-?�

�The office called. They said they had three new clients for me!� he chirped.

�New customers? I thought you said there were no more of them?�

�Actually, it was Dad. He told me they were former Sesshoumaru�s. That means really BIG sharks!!�

Oh my god! Sesshoumaru!! She panicked. �D-do you think he okay?� she stuttered. Inuyasha gave her an odd look.

�Well, I don�t see why you should care about him that much but� Dad said they weren�t able to locate him for two days now, so they quitted on him.�

Two days!! Oh My dearest! Are you okay? She felt a familiar feeling crawling under her skin. Guilt washed through her as she looked down to her working husband.

�I better leave you alone, you�ve got hard work. �Night� she said, walking away to bed.

� �Kay. Sleep tight. Luv ya� Inuyasha never looked her way so he missed the huge tears in her eyes.

�Me too�� She whispered.

�Don�t do it.�

�But he loves me.�

�He�s playing with you.�

�And what about you?�

�See! Why should you care! We have nothing! Besides, you are his brother for God�s sake!� she threw her arms to the air, completely frustrated.

�I met you first.� growled the man.

�So!? I dated him first!�

�I kissed you first.� He yanked her hand, and she ended in his arms.

�You were drunk. You said it was an accident!�

�I lied.�

�But you said it meant nothing!� she struggled.

�You were with him. You were �dating�. I know it was nothing.� He stilled her, then stared at her eyes. Her chocolate orbs were filling up with tears of anger. �To you.�

�Bullshit! How dare you pretend to know what I feel!� she struggled again, more forceful than before.

�I don�t pretend, girl. I know.� He growled in her face.

�You fucking egotistical basta-�

The man roughly kissed the girl, effectively silencing her. She fought in his arms for a few more seconds, and then slumped into them.
As they parted for air, his grip in her waist tightened and her arms flew to circle his neck. They made out till their lips were swollen and tender. He was about to kiss her again but suddenly a young man appeared in the front door, screaming in outrage, and held a threatening glare. His eyes promised dead�

�How could you!!� he yelled.

The woman jumped out of her lovers grasp.

�I-Inuyasha�this is not what you think�� but her lover had her by the waist in no time.

�Yes it is, little brother� The golden depths of his eyes showed so much determination, and something else she could quite recognize. But she was anxious, because her little secret had crumbled.

�Sesshoumaru, please don�t!� she begged.

�No girl, you belong here with me�

�Sessho-�

But he interrupted her� �I love you.�

�Bastard!!� roared the young man at the door, and lunged forward to the couple. He had grabbed one of the swords that hung from the wall.
He aimed at the taller man, and struck�

"Inuyasha!! DON�T!!�

Kagome bolted awake, sweat covering her brow. She was panting� There it was again. The nightmare. The very one that haunted her every night since her engagement party.

She looked over to her side in the bed, and saw nothing. Better said: no one

Drawing her knees to her chest, she sobbed quietly. Her nightly, six months old routine.
