Chapter 2:
Kagome stretched out along her futon, long legs splayed against the blue blankets that made up her bed. With a large yawn and arms reaching above her head, she turned over onto her side, blue eyes peering up and out of the window to her hut.

The day had gone by relatively well; Inu Yasha had seemingly disappeared throughout the day, pausing only for meals with the group before bounding back off into the forest. Kagome had only been able to shrug it off, attributing to the idea that maybe he had wanted alone time as much as she had as of late. And now, with the sun having sunk down behind the treeline, Kagome could only wonder what her hanyou friend was up to now.

With a tired resignation, Kagome turned her gaze away from the window and toward the sleeping ball of red fur at the end of her futon. Shippo had bounced around the village all day, only to tucker out as the Miko had decided to turn home for the evening. Smiling to herself, Kagome allowed her eyes to drift closed, her mind now assured of the safety and warmth of their little family.

Little had the Miko known that a pair of familiar golden eyes had been watching her from the roost of his favorite tree. He had watched her shuffle about her home, before eventually settling down for the night. And now that the Miko had gone to sleep, Inu Yasha could finally trek back into the forest in search of Kikyo.

Dropping down from his perch, the hanyou darted off into the trees, passing only momentarily by the hut that he had just been spying upon, taking a brief sniff of the air surrounding it.

“Good… wench is finally asleep.”

He proceeded to pad at a steady pace into the forest with no regards to the now tossing and turning of the kit inside the hut.

His movement had woken her up and Kagome brought a hand to her eyes, rubbing away the sleep from their cerulean depths. Staring down toward her feet, she could see Shippo whimpering in his sleep, his little feet pawing at the blankets and bunching them into a ball around his waist.

With gentle hands, Kagome pushed herself up and smoothed her fingertips over the length of the kit’s tail. Instantly, his body stilled. With a heaving sigh, the kit settled back into a fitful slumber. However, only now his adoptive mother could no longer find the sleep that she had desired.

Moving slowly, as to not awaken the kit, Kagome pushed the blankets down off of the length of her legs and shuffled toward the door. Grabbing a pair of flats near the door, she gently slipped them onto her feet. Maybe a short walk around the village would help put her mind back into its meditative state? Her fingers hooked around a woolen jacket hanging near the doorway and she swung it over her shoulders, covering the lavender silken nightgown that she always slept in.

Just a quick walk. Shippo won’t even know I was gone, she mused. With a small smile, Kagome slipped out of the hut and closed the door quietly in her wake. With a glance up toward the sky, her breath caught in her throat. The moon is so big tonight! Something about how low it hung in the sky pulled at her heartstrings. It really was beautiful… all white and silver, glowing with its ethereal shine… Kind of like—her mind cut off at the thought as a much smaller glow danced across the sky before dipping into the forest up ahead.

With narrowed eyes, Kagome started forward before turning back with a guilty glance at the hut and the sleeping kit inside. It would only take a moment to investigate, right? Huffing with encouragement to herself, Kagome trudged forward and into the forest, a sinking feeling settling itself into the pit of her stomach.

He tossed and turned, silver hair sticking to his temples as he fought a troubled sleep. Clawed hands gripped the sheets in earnest, soft, possessive growls emanating from deep within his chest.

She was faceless, the shadow of her hair covering the tell-tale eyes that he felt an oh-so-familiar tug of his memory from. And always below those hidden eyes, a set of plush lips would smile. Always, they would smile. That heart-wrenching smirk, as a rosy, naked body moved almost predatorily up the length of his bed – and eventually, the length of him.

He was always naked, exposed. Her hands trailing up his thighs, settling on the sensual curve of his hips, fingertips grazing languorously across the silk of his skin, skimming his hard shaft as it pierced the air, signaling like a beacon his desire for this mysterious woman.

Then her mouth would descend. And oh how it would linger, tasting, licking, nibbling along his length and causing a groan to escape.

By the gods, this woman was insatiable… and he wanted to rut her until she screamed his name, over and over, a mantra of the only thing she could coherently form.

Yes, as she sucked with that bubblegum mouth on the hardness of his manhood, he would finally cave in and grab her by both arms, hoisting his woman—his? Yes, she was definitely his - up and above his quivering cock. And she would be receptive. She would cling to his arms, fingers fisting in anticipation of what would come next.

Golden eyes snapped open, his chest heaving.

Hooking a clawed index finger along the band of his pants, he forcefully ripped the silken material away from his body, using the scraps to wipe up the remains of his cum that clung to his already softening shaft.

The ritual was starting to get old. He missed simply going to sleep for the sake of resting. And yet every night for the past moon cycle, this faceless vixen had entered his dreams and turned them topsy-turvy from the usually mundane sequence of his life.

“Shit.” His hand dug into his silvery locks, Sesshoumaru’s golden gaze peering out the balcony doors and into the moonlit night. Maybe he just needed a breath of air; something cold to dampen his already returning ardor.
