A/n Yay for an early update for my story, I had this chapter done late last night but wanted to read it again before I posted it this evening. I will keep posting chapters as I get them done but sometimes it won’t always be this fast. Anyway on to the story!

Chapter 2 Revelations and Understand
" Well I will leave yo-"

" Wait!" Kagome practically yelled as he turned to leave. " Please don't go, I just can't be alone right now. I trust you to behave." She whispered finally after a short pause.
Inuyasha shook his head, he was only going to go to the balcony to get some fresh air as the scent of her and taste of blood had stirred his demon. But as he turned and saw the desperation and sadness in her eyes he couldn't leave her, she was his to protect. His demon instantly switched his need to claim her as his mate to soothing his upset mate. He nodded his head and walked back towards hers. She gave him a small smile in return took his offered hand to help her stand. She dropped the robe she had been wearing shimmied out of her underwear. She let go of his hand and turned around. Inuyasha had turned his gaze to the ceiling to respect her wishes. For a moment she tried unsuccessfully to unhook her bustier while balancing and one foot. Inuyasha sense her struggle and took action and sliced it off for her by once again forcing his youki into his claws. She let out a little squeak but said nothing she was grateful for the help. He could clearly see all the bruises running down her back and he nearly let out a howl of rage. He wanted to track Koga down and tear him limb from limb.

" Inu? So you think you could lift me into the tub?" Her voice was so small and so innocent it sent a soothing affect down his spine, calming his demon.

" Of course." He shifted scooping her up and placed her into the tub the bubbles covered her up to her neck. She got comfortable and lid back with a sigh. Thinking about the events tonight she just couldn’t believe what happened. Inuyasha grabbed a towel and dried his arms off and hung another on the hook by the tub for her.

“ It feels like a spell has been lifted. The last year feels like a blur, like I was an outsider looking in.” Kagome shook her head she spoke. She had no doubt in her mind that Koga or someone close to her had to of have used dark magic on her. She hadn’t felt this clear minded or like herself since before her and Koga got engaged.

Inuyasha now sat on the stool watching the woman he loved. He could feel her hurting and watching as a slow tear slipped down her cheek. He wanted to kiss the tear away and take all her pain away. They sat silent for what seemed like forever which in reality was only 20 minutes before Kagome got the courage to speak.

" You still haven't asked me why I ran out." She commented pulling her knees up to her chest and resting her chin on them. She couldn't look at him so she just kept staring at the disappearing bubbles. The hot water calmed the throbbing in ankle.

" Keh, I don't want to push you Kags. You’re hurting, you need time to figure out what’s going on." He answered simply. He had never been so honest with her. He usually kept his feelings secret but she needed him right now. She needed the emotional, caring side of him and that’s what he would give her. She sighed and decided to get it off her chest before she broke down again. She had been debating if she should tell him but while they were alone like this she felt like she should. Her heart and soul were guiding her and this felt right.

" Ok, please don't interrupt. I just need to say it out loud, alright?" She looked at him and he nodded back. She turned back to stare at the bubbles. " He had been cheating on me with a female wolf demon. I found them in the hall while looking for Sota before the ceremony. He was fucking her right there where anyone could see. I was disgusted, hurt, betrayed, enraged and relieved all at one; I stood there shocked for a few minutes and watched as he pounded into her over and over again. He pulled down her topped and she moaned his name. I finally snapped out of it and let out a gasp; that’s when he noticed me. He looked mad and dropped the girl to the floor. He told her he would be right back and to stay warm for him. I tore the engagement ring off my finger and whipped it at his head and exploded. I started to yell every swear word at him, my mind felt like it snapped into focus for the first time in a long time." Kagome sighed as her mind went back to that moment not even a few hours ago.

" Koga! What the actual fuck?" Kagome screamed as they entered the bridal suite. Sango sat in a chair in the corner, she stood but said nothing. Koga actually looked bored with her; he rolled his eyes and shrugged. He stuffed his shirt back into his pants and fixed the rest of his tux.

" Well dear, you were the one who wanted to wait till marriage. Did you honestly think daily hand and blow jobs would hold me over? I am a wolf youkai." He looked at his nails and yawned. " Now finish getting ready and I will go 'Finish' with my play thing and we will meet at the altar." Koga went to turn to leave but before he could Kagome reared back and slapped him hard across the face, unleashing some of her Reiki into it by accident out of rage. He cried out in agony and shock and held a hand to his cheek.

" If you think I am just going to marry you now you are insane." She sneered as she turned to go to her best friend who had walked a few steps closer. " Sango we are lea-" before she could get the words out of her mouth he grabbed her by the throat.

“ You little bitch! You think you can leave me? I own you. You are mine! This proves it!" He held up the ring and squeezed her neck a little tighter to emphasize his point. " I thought we had been over this lesson recently but I guess I should have hit you a little harder." He chuckled darkly.

Kagome could see Sango, her mother and Miroku now behind Koga. Sango held up her cell phone and was talking to someone and Miroku pulled an ofuda from his jacket, he himself being from a shrine family. He always carried them as he was a warrior and trained to be a spiritual adviser and guard for the important humans and youkai since he was child he would be working with Inuyasha once school was completed and Inuyasha started working full time.

" Koga, you're hurting me." She wheezed out. Her world was spinning she raised her hand to unleash her spiritual powers on him but was thrown across the room. She was dazed one second he was holding her and the next she was on the floor her breathing was labored, her head was spinning but returning to normal. She didn’t understand why Miroku’s power would actually hurt her, they never did in the past. She looked over to where Koga lied. He withered in agony and rage, screaming as the ofuda sizzled and snapped against his skin. Not wasting another second Kagome got up and bolted for the door. She needed to escape and ran out of the wedding venue with Miroku and Sango chasing after her she turned stopped and quickly explained to them to go protect her family and keep them safe from the wolf tribe. It wasn't too long after that she ran into Inuyasha.

" So you know what happened after that." She finished telling her story and Inuyasha took a moment to calm his raging demon he wanted to seek the blood of the one who hurt what was his.

“ Kagome I don’t think you were wrong about being under a spell.” Inuyasha had been thinking about this for a while but was still putting the pieces together. “ You were different for the last year, almost a shell of the girl I once knew. You had been quiet, withdrawn, and your eyes had lost their shine. I thought it was just Koga but I am starting to think there is more to this mystery. Tonight is the first time I can see the fire in your eyes again.” Inuyasha sat back for a second thought about what he just said. After hearing a couple things tonight some pieces were falling into place for him, while the reasons why someone would want to hurt Kagome so bad baffled him.

“ I completely agree with you, I don’t know how it happened but someone was trying to control me.” She shivered at the thought. A spell like that takes time to work, and if she didn’t have to break from of it tonight she could have been lost to it forever. She may be a powerful Miko but she was still susceptible to such dark spells and curses.

" When did he start hurting you?" He voice shook as he asked. She shot him a look. A tear slipped down her cheek and then another. She felt so much shame for not telling someone, for not stopping the abuse when it started. “ Oh Kags, I’m sorry, please don’t cry you know I hate to you cry.” He took her hand and gave it a squeeze.

" 6 months ago, it started out small he would grab my wrist or arm and squeeze till he left bruises, until last month he start slamming my body into the wall and throwing me into things. I thought he was going to break me or kill me. I wanted to leave, god I tried to leave multiple times but I was too scared. The thought would make me ill and I would black out." She whispered. Her body trembled and she started to cry uncontrollably she just escaped a life time of pain and misery. The love she once felt for Koga was long gone, all she felt was sadness for the friend she once had in him. Inuyasha pulled her from the tub and into his arms. He rubbed her back and his chest started to rumble. Almost like a purr but much deeper. It didn't take long for Kagome to calm down. She tucked her head into his neck, she inhaled his spicy, woodsy scent and felt her body relax. He always made her feel safe.

" Thank you for saving me. Thank you for taking me here." She clung to him like he could disappear at any moment and she would be back in the nightmare. She felt a tug on her soul, an old tug she hadn’t felt in months. She inhaled shapely at the feeling but didn’t push it away.

" I will never let anyone hurt you ever again Kagome. I care for you so much. And I know this is horrible timing to tell you this but if I don't my demon would drive me insane." She pulled away from his chest to look at him. " Kagome I want you to understand there is no pressure. But when you are ready, not before then, I would like to ask you to enter a mating courtship. You are the woman that holds my very soul in her hands and I should have asked you in high school to be mine. I don't want to think I am taking advantage of you. I will wait weeks, months, years as long as you need for you to feel like yourself again. But I needed you to know." He held his breath as she closed her eyes and opened them again. Tears gatherer but didn't fall but she was smiling.

" You big idiot, if you had to tell me this when we kissed that time I would have broken up with Koga to be with you. You said it was a drunken mistake, side effect of you breaking it off with Kikyo." She smiled bigger at the sheepish look on his face.

Inuyasha banged on Kagome’s apartment door, he had been drinking. He just found out the girl he had been dating since high school was only using him for his family’s fortune. He caught her on the phone to her lover telling him it wouldn’t be long now before the stupid Hanyou purposed to her. He stormed into the room and ripped the phone from her hand. She begged and pleaded that he miss heard her but Inuyasha knew what he heard and kicked her out of their shared apartment. Then he called his best friend and told him to meet him at their favorite bar to drink on him. Him and Miroku drank until Inuyasha could barely stand which meant the bar was almost out of alcohol. Now he was standing outside of Kagome’s apartment at 4 in the morning. At first he just stared at the door with his forehead rested against it. But soon a soft knock turned into pounding on the door, he needed to see her, smell her scent, he needed his Kagome.

“ Kagome, my fair, beautiful sweet Kagome. Please open the door.” He bellowed.

Kagome awoke to the knocking and by the time he finished calling out to her she was at the door and opening it. He staggered in almost knocking the vase that sat on the table next to the door to the ground. She huffed, closing the door and guided him to the couch.

“ Inuyasha what the heck are you doing here at 4 in the morning?” She brushed the hair from his face to look in his eyes. They reflected back pain and hurt. “ And drunk? You never drink.” She was worried about him, the last time he drank like this was they were teenagers she blushed at the memory. He kissed her that night and they fooled around a little before he pushed her away and said he couldn’t ruin their friendship. It wasn’t long after that he started dating Kikyou.

“ Kagome, my beautiful Kagome.” He cupped her face in his hand. “ I found out Kikyo was only using me for my money and she had a guy on the side. I kicked her out.” Inuyasha explained while rubbing her cheeks with his thumbs. She was surprised that he was speaking with such clarity. She touched her hands to his and slowly brought them down to her lap and held them. Her heart was fluttering, and she needed to get it under control before he noticed. She had always loved him.

“ Oh Inuyasha, I am so sorry. You don’t deserve a woman treating you like that.” Kagome secretly thought he deserved a woman like her but she would not voice that. Inuyasha pulled her hands towards him and brought one to his lips and gently placed a soft kiss against her knuckles.

“ Kagome I want you, I have been foolish and blind to not see you all this time.” Inuyasha didn’t wait for her to respond before crashing his lips down onto hers. Electricity shot down her spin and she knew he felt it too. Her eyes widened in surprise before she slowly responded to his lips messaging hers. Inuyasha grinned when he felt her relaxed. They battled for dominance before Inuyasha pulled away and grinned at her. She smiled back, slowly her mind cleared and she realized was just happened. She was overjoyed to know that he felt the same but she couldn’t let this go any further. She had a boyfriend and couldn’t cheat on him but she knew in her heart that Inuyasha was the one for her. Slowly Inuyasha rose, taking her hand and tugging her up with him, his balance was much better than 15 minutes prior. She followed him as he led her to her room.

“ Kagome please just let me hold you?” He looked at her pleading and she caved immediately. They crawled into bed, Inuyasha at some point removed his shirt and shoes. He curled around her, spooning and fell asleep. She grabbed her phone from the night stand and opened her messages. The fight she had been having with Koga made her wince. She decided in that moment whether Inuyasha wanted her or not she needed to leave Koga.

‘Koga, I can’t do this anymore, I’m sorry but we are over.’ She never thought she would break it off with him over text but that meant she wouldn’t have to face his increasing temper.

Inuyasha awoke startled, it only took a few seconds for all the memories from last night played in his head. He smiled and looked down at the woman below him. He pushed a strand of her dark raven colored hair out away from her face. She stirred, her eyes opening slowly, blinking away the sleep from them. She smiled at him shyly and gave him a peck on the lips.

Kagome mind snapped back to the present as she watching Inuyasha watching her. " You didn’t let me finish that morning, I was going to say it was a mistake for me to tell you how I felt while I was drunk but I was glad it happened. You just wouldn’t hear me out and then a few weeks later you had that ring on your finger and I gave up hope. Now that I know what I know now I won't let you slip away a second time." He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

" Inuyasha I’m sorry, I should have listened to you then instead of storming off and locking myself away in the bathroom. I broke up with Koga that night, and I was hurting from the fight I had with him. He actually gave me the ring two days after that even though I told him we were finished and I never wanted to see him again. He slipped it on my hand and said he would come back in a week and I took him back. I still don’t understand why I did. Inuyasha I need you to know something that I have been hiding from you.” She paused to gather her thoughts and gave him a little smile. He gave her a smile back and she found the confidence and strength to say what she needed to say.
“ I have been in love with you since I was 12. I can't say that I am not scared from what Koga did and we still need to figure out what hell is going on. But if you will agree to take this mating courtship at a snail’s pace and allow my heart to heal so I can give it totally to you then I accept." She placed a quick, feather light kiss on his jaw line which she knew was the formal way of accepting his courtship offer. Who knew she would go from the worst night of her life and almost marrying the wrong man to entering an official courtship with the man she should be with. Kagome thought back to when Inuyasha’s mother had taught her and Sota all about demon traditions and mating rituals growing up. She wanted to make sure they knew what to expect if they ended up with a demon. Kagome had been so embarrassed when she pulled her aside for one very horrifying conversation in Kagome’s teenage mind but now she would have to thank her. It wasn’t unusual for human and demons to be mates now. It was actually fairly common. Humans and demons had been living peacefully together for many centuries and thanks to the superior council made up of human, spirituals and demons a like peace remained. She was now very thankful for the information.

" Anything for you my love. You tell me what you need from me and I will do anything in my power to give it to you. I am going to call Sesshomaru in the morning and speak to him about the crimes against you. We both know spells and curses that are used for control are illegal to use." Inuyasha smiled and looked down at his beloved again. She smile as he rubbed her bare back, it was then they both realized Kagome was completely naked and crushed against him. They both blushed and then laughed, the humor released any tension that had been building.

" I think the first thing I need is a pair of your boxes and a t-shirt." She backed away and snagged a towel from the hook to cover her. She wasn't some naive child, she was a grown woman and she wouldn’t be ashamed of her body. She may be ashamed of the physical marks Koga left her with but those would heal. She may also have some emotional baggage she needed to deal with before she could give herself to Inuyasha but she knew her heart was leading her in the right direction this time. She felt this was the path she needed to follow and she would be damned if she would stray away again. She learned a long time ago to trust her inner instincts and spell had forced her not too. But now with it broken she felt her strength coming back, her instincts, her powers flared every so often as if rejoicing in being released from a cage. She was going to be ok, the nightmare and captivity was over, and she would make sure she stopped whoever was after her before they did this to someone else.

" Here you go, I will give you a few moments to get ready for bed. I will go grab us a snack and we can watch a movie." He handed her some clothes and gave her a wink and a wiggle of his eyebrows. She smiled back as she watched him walk out of the room. She hobbled over the mirror and took a brush from one the cabinets. She took the pins from her hair to take it out of the bun she had it in. She brushed her long raven locks and watched as they fell in a soft wave, her hair had always been a little unruly and wild she had no idea why she put it in a bun for her wedding, it wasn’t her style. She then washed the rest of her makeup off and looked at herself in the mirror. She almost looked like herself except for the deep purple and blue bruises that covered her neck, back and upper arms. She found some mouth wash and then got dressed. The t-shirt he gave her came to her mid thighs and hung off her one shoulder she was a petite woman but curvy. His boxers hung to the curve of her hips and bottom. If this hadn't been one of the worst days of her life she would say she looked rather sexy and probably would have seduced Inuyasha into making her his mate tonight. She heard Inuyasha moving about the room and decided she was presentable enough for him to come get her. She could have limped out to the room but she rather enjoyed the closeness of him carrying her. She called out to him and a couple seconds later he walked through the door. He stopped mid step and his jaw dropped. She looked absolutely drop dead gorgeous, she nervously chewed her bottom lip as he studied her.

" Fuck , you look stunning." He said smoothly as he crossed the room to scoop to her up and bring her to the bed. She giggled and blush slightly at the compliment.

He walked out of the washroom and laid her in his bed. He helped her get comfortable and the put a couple pillows under her ankle and put a cold compress on it. She hissed as the cold hit her skin, and took the offered pain pills her handed her. God she wished for youkai healing right about now. She watched as he popped in one of their favorite movies from the 90’s and he came back to the bed and handed her a bowl of popcorn. She took a couple handfuls of popcorn and ate them before lying back into the ultra-comfy bed. It didn’t take long before Kagome was snuggled into his side and fast asleep. Inuyasha took the popcorn bowl away and laid it on the table next to the bed. He turned off the entertainment system and lights with a remote before tugging Kagome just a little closer to him. He ducked his head down and just took in her scent before place a kiss against the top of her head. No one was ever going to come between them again and in that moment he was certain that someday in the near future Kagome would be his mate and then they would marry. He was going to destroy Koga for what he did but first he had to figure out why someone would want to hurt Kagome so badly. He knew Koga certainly didn’t have the smarts or power to perform such a dark and powerful magic on Kagome so who was the puppet master. It was an answer for another day as tonight he would just enjoy having Kagome in his arms.

A/n: Well I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. I have chapter 3 started so hopefully it won’t take too long to get done. I am thinking this will be a 10 chapter story or so but we will see. Are you guys liking the amount of details or should I pull back a little? Let me know. AndreaSky
