20: An Odd Piece

It was finally time!� The clock was now ticking out the last five
minutes of work until she would be on vacation for a full two weeks.� She was ecstatic.� After this, she could go home and clean up, pack, get her
apartment ready for her to be gone for a little while and even get some sleep
before heading out.� She still had no
clue where Koga was taking her, but just the thought of travel once again had
her excitement running on high with the temptation of complete adventure.� She hadn�t felt this titillated since before
she was in high school and traveling with Inu Yasha and her friends.� This was also the first bit of real travel
that she had had since that point in time that she knew she would find some
fun.

She was so engrossed with watching the
clock that she didn�t sense it when somebody walked behind her.� A hand clapped on her shoulder just as the
minute hand ticked one tick closer to quitting time.

�� Koga was glancing around the apartment one last time.� He was pleased that he had started his
vacation just a little bit before Kagome, but he had a lot more than just two
weeks built up.� Of course, he couldn�t
remember exactly how much time she had accumulated during her employment at the
hospital.

�� He had spent the last bit of time cleaning everything that
he could figure including the shower stall so that she hopefully wouldn�t have
to worry about fixing everything before heading out.� He knew that she would be that type of woman.� She may be spontaneous, but dirty dishes in
the sink will still bother her, especially for two whole weeks.� He decided that they would carry some extra
money and a map.� Just winging it sounded
like fun.� He had checked for anything
special going on that would cause problems or that looked like fun.� He had a plan as to where he should take
her.

�� He knew that anything related to nature would be a good
idea.� She liked to reminisce.� He knew that it had been hard on her as she
got used to trying to live a normal life here rather than her life in the
past.� He was thankful for how things
had turned out because it meant that she was his and nobody else�s.

�� A shiver crept down his back, and he glanced at the
clock.� He grinned.� Now, he just had to finish getting their
things in the car.� A tent, camping
supplies for just in case.� Some good
jeans for both of them, good shoes, a nice outfit for him and one for her were
packed in the bag as well.� Well, he
hoped that she liked the clothes that he picked for her.�

He
checked a small pocket on his duffel.� A
smile slid in place as he saw what he had packed in that place he hoped that
she wouldn�t check too early.

He
had planned that they drive in whatever direction their fancy took them.� He put the last bag in the trunk and closed
it, heading in the direction of a car wash.�
He wanted everything to be perfect for his mate.

�� A laugh bubbled out of Kagome as she turned and saw one of
the nurses that she was friendly with.

�Hey.� Almost time now.� Don�t let that big, mean doctor push you around too much.� You guys going to be ok while I�m gone?� she
chatted amicably.

�Oh, we�ll be just
fine.� Just carry on like we did before
you got transferred over here: grin and nod and then laugh at him when he is
out of the room.� Come with me for a second,�
she ordered good-naturedly.

�� Kagome nodded and walked behind the older nurse.� They went to the back room and then to the
nurse�s lounge.� The lights were out,
but it had been incredibly slow at the hospital that whole night.

�� As soon as they stepped though the doorway, the lights lit
up and people jumped out from behind the furniture yelling, �Surprise!�

�� There was a card telling Kagome to have a great
vacation.� One of the nurses had added
to bring him back something and was seconded by quite a few others.� Beyond the card sat some a number of different
foods.

�� Everybody laughed and chatted, patting Kagome on the back
and telling her to have fun but to come back soon.

�� Kagome just smiled and nodded, nabbing her card so that she
could read it later on.� She glanced
once again at the clock and found that she was two minutes past closing time
now.� She was about to hug some of her
co-workers and tell them it was time for her to go, but she found an arm around
her waist from behind and was pulled back before she knew what had happened or
could have reacted.� Lips grazed hers
and trailed to her neck and up to her ear before a voice whispered, �I will see
you soon.�

�� Just as fast as it had happened, she was released and
alone.� She headed back to give her
goodbyes and clock out with renewed hurry.

�� She was just clocking out when someone snatched her up and
hauled her roughly to a hard chest that belonged to the arms around her.� A scream tore from her as she began to fight
to get released.

�Kagome?� came a confused
questions veiled in the utterance of her name.

�Koga?!� Hey!�
How are you?� she burst out and then planted her lips to his, savagely
inhaling his lips and mouth.

�� When the kiss ended, he surveyed her face and smiled.� She seemed ok, but her heart was racing
frantically.� He tried to tell himself
that maybe he had just scared her.� He
could hear a party going on and hoped that she was still on edge from being
surprised.� He somehow suspected that
that wasn�t the whole story though.� He
knew his Kagome, and she didn�t get jumpy over absolutely nothing.

�� Well, he hoped that they didn�t have to worry about
that.� They were leaving, and he hoped
that they didn�t have too much longer of her working and him working his
hours.� He was hoping that what he had
would sway her to see their mating under the light of time to start a
family.� He could hope, but he did know
his mate very well.

�� Reddening eyes watched them as their master contemplated his
next move.� This was an enigma that he
would solve.� It had been centuries
since he had since this creature, and he knew she wasn�t immortal.� His curiosity was piqued in a way that it
hadn�t been in a very long time.�

�� He remembered her.�
She was an oddity at one time, but now, she was more so.� She held his attention.� It was puzzling that she didn�t carry the
half-breed�s mark.� She did carry the
wolf�s though.

�� That didn�t bother him.�
He was strong enough to ignore it.�
It was an inconvenience and nothing more.

�� A growl was stifled as they embraced and greeted each other
with more enthusiasm than he would have cared to witness.� He watched as she was escorted out by the
male that had his arm wrapped tightly around her.� He was almost carrying her out.�
He knew that she would have rejected that though.

�� It had taken a while, but he had managed to piece together
quite a bit information from tales that Inu Yasha told and what little he had
witnessed when she had made her first appearance in his life.

�Koga�� What all did you pack?� she asked as he told
her what he did.� She seemed pleasantly
surprised but still a bit strained as she wondered what had been packed.�

�I appreciate it, but I
need to know what was packed before we go,� she soothed as she saw his demeanor
ruffling a bit.� �I also really need a
shower and a change before heading any where.

�� Koga relaxed as she kissed his cheek and couldn�t wait for
that shower.� �I packed some jeans and
an outfit just in case we go somewhere that you wanted to dress up a little
bit.� You can check when we get home
real quick, then we can go shower.� You
can also grab anything that you think I missed.� I packed some camping gear as well as a tent just in case.� I figured we should say screw the plans and
just go wherever sounds like fun.� I
kind of had the mountains in mind.�� He
watched her as she approached the clean car and smiled.

�You really went all
out.� Nice detail work on the car,� she
complimented.� He had vacuumed, cleaned
all the surfaces, and washed the outside to a nice glossy shine.� The two-door car looked brand new with all
of the care he had put into it.� Looking
inside, there was a light blanket and a small bag that probably held a few
amenities that made travel much better.�

�� She laughed as she found herself turned around and pressed
against the shiny surface of the car.�
She kissed him back and allowed herself to get caught up in the moment
as they loved on each other after the night of separation.

�I am really ready to get
home now,� she husked and slid into the passenger seat quickly.� Koga grinned at her eagerness and then
demonstrated the same trait as he almost jumped across the hood and slid into
the driver�s seat.� He revved up the
engine and took off in the direction of the apartment they had been sharing.

�� Kagome laughed as they both exposed their eagerness.� The door was opened, and she was naked in
record time.� The next second had them
both naked and in the shower with suds saturating her hair and drizzling down
her body, framing her breasts.� He
washed her body, and she washed his before worshipping it from her knees in the
limited space of the shower stall.

�� Koga hissed as he was drawn further into the hot recesses
of her mouth.

�� His hips met her movements, prolonging and hurrying his
pleasure at the same time.� Her mouth
was a blissful heaven as it tortured him.

�� She stole his breath as he climaxed down her throat.� He could feel the burning liquid as she
gulped effectively.

�� Koga sagged against the wall while trying to haul her up to
his level.� Her feet left the floor of
the shower, and her legs wrapped around him as she kissed him lovingly.� Her continuous movements drug his arousal
back.� He pushed her against the
opposing wall and roughly slid inside of her, begging for her release.�

�� The shower ended moments after she screamed again from a
release that shook her being.� Her
wobbly legs caught her weight and struggled to support it as they exited the
shower, drying off and slipping on clean clothes.

�� Kagome dug through her drawers, trying to figure out what
he had packed.� She spotted several
missing pairs of jeans including her favorite holey pair that were well lived
in.� She found a comfortable pair of
light gray work out/pajama pants that had wide legs and a drawstring around the
waist.� They weren�t too thick or too
thin.� Not for really hot summers, but
not for the dead of winter either, just right for spring or fall.

�� Koga watched as she pulled on a pair of boy shorts and a
pair of bottoms.� He laughed as she
pawed through her shirts next, taking inventory to determine what was out in
the trunk of his car.� She pulled out a
dark green, v-neck top that was fitted across her body.� She glanced once again through her top draw
and determined which socks, bras and panties he had packed.

�� She held her mirth as she decided he had definitely only
chosen her laciest, sexiest thongs and only one pair of boy shorts.� A total of four pairs.� She held in the laughter that threatened to
bubble out and nabbed a few others.� She
finally found a bra that she wanted to wear.�
A nice front closure that pushed her chest up but was still
comfortable.� Pulling that on, she pulled
on her shirt next and stuffed her feet into her shoes.� She turned to look at the jeans and tee that
Koga had quickly slipped on while observing her.

�� She looked around for the first time and noticed that the
apartment had been cleaned for the most part.�
The only thing he didn�t do was put away the dishes and make sure she
didn�t have wet clothes in the hamper.�
She bit her lip and took care of those few things that had to be done
before locking up.� The last thing she
did was checking the fridge for anything that shouldn�t be left in before she
left.� Thankfully, they hadn�t bought
any milk since they ran out earlier in the week.

�� Only an hour had passed since she had clocked out, and
Kagome was getting comfortable in the passenger seat as they headed to a
service station to fuel up and grab some food for the road.� Koga had mentioned having his car serviced
fast before pulling out.� An oil change
and a quick glance at all of his fluids didn�t take him long.

�� Kagome saw a map of the highways and byways and bought it
along with a few bottles of water and the other purchases that they had decided
on.

�� The eyes narrowed as they watched the couple getting ready
to attack the road in search of adventure.
