Chapter 20 - Battle of Wills
*Cayenne Pepper* (Stella's Spicy Challenge)
Kagome was making Sesshoumaru insane. It seemed like every time he looked at her, she was playing with that small knife of hers, studying the blade and making the light glint off of it. It made him crave the sensation of the cold metal pressing against his skin, slicing into his flesh and releasing his blood for her to drink. As if that weren't bad enough, she returned to her teasing ways, as well. She would bend over too far, flashing him her panties. She sat on the kitchen counter with one foot up while she talked on the phone, giving him a show. She brushed up against him every time their paths crossed, all of which was leaving the taiyoukai in a perpetually aroused state.
He didn't know what she wanted from him. Was she looking for him to attack her as he had the last time? Did she want him to grab her and fuck her senseless? "I admire your self-control. You held out longer than I thought you would."
Sesshoumaru opened his mouth only to close it again. He couldn't explain to her that the only reason he made it this long was because he was afraid of upsetting her. He didn't know what she wanted from him, and the last thing he wanted was to do the wrong thing and ruin any chances he might have of being with her. He had no idea what was going on in her head, if she was considering forgiving him, or if she was still angry. The whole Kagura situation only made it more complicated, and he was afraid that Kagome would flip if she knew that the wind youkai had been leaving notes on their front door for him every night.
"Nothing to say?" Kagome asked in a seductive tone. "I'd think you would be relieved. I can stop if you want," she teased. She knew he wanted her to continue. She could feel his erection pressed up against her.
"I am incredibly relieved," he replied, not wanting her to pull away from him. "Your teasing was killing me."
"Aww, but its fun," she taunted. Once she finished removing all the buttons from his shirt, she pulled it open, revealing his muscled chest and abdomen. She ran her fingers lovingly over the dips of definition with one hand while her other still played with the knife. "What to do, what to do," she murmured to herself.

Kagome's smirk widened, and she leaned back to give her more room to work. She began cutting him, once again carving her name into his chest, licking up the trails of blood letter by letter. She moaned softly at the taste and began to grind her hips against his erection. She wasn't nearly as bothered by the fact that hurting him aroused her. She was getting used to their interpersonal dynamic, and was accepting it as how things would be for the rest of their lives. There was no reason to be ashamed of what was natural for them. "More than air," he responded quickly, his tone soaked in honesty.
"Did you ever forget about me?"
"Never. You were always on my mind, no matter what I was doing or who I was with, my thoughts were with you."
"How do you feel about me?" She knew the answer already, but she wanted to hear it from his lips.
"I love you, Kagome," Sesshoumaru replied without hesitation. "I have always loved you, and I will always love you. You are the only woman I want to be with."
Kagome's smile widened. "Good, because I don't share. I wish you didn't heal so quickly," she said as she watched her name disappear letter by letter. "I want this to scar."
"If I could make it so, I would. I would wear your name with pride." A thought struck the taiyoukai then and a smirk pulled at his lips. He wanted to give her a big romantic gesture to prove himself. Perhaps if he did so, Kagome would finally understand his level of devotion. Words just didn't seem like enough. His idea would be perfect.
*Cumin* (Stella's Spicy Challenge)

"No, I don't want to see that," the hanyou replied bitterly. "It's fucking sick!"
"Inuyasha, this is a permanent part of our lives now. We shouldn't have to hide it."
"I'd be just as grossed out if you two were just making out at the kitchen table. It's not the cutting or the blood, it's seeing the two of you doing... being... intimate! You're my best friend, and he's my brother. I don't wanna see that shit."

Kagome laughed again as she closed the blade and slid it into her pocket, disappointing the taiyoukai, who had been hoping for more. "Fine, we'll try to stay out of the common areas when we're being 'intimate'," she said teasingly. "Now, Sesshoumaru, I believe you offered me something?" She squealed as the taiyoukai rose to his feet, holding tightly to the miko, keeping her body pressed to his. Her legs wrapped around his waist for stability, and he carried her out of the kitchen without another word. He headed upstairs to his room and set her carefully on the edge of his bed.
"Do you have any conditions to tell me?" he asked, wanting to ensure he did nothing to upset her.
She looked thoughtful for a long moment before nodding. "Your pants stay on. You stop when I tell you to."
"Anything else?"
"You give me the best orgasms of my life," she replied with a smirk.
"I shall do my best," he said before reaching for the bottom of her shirt. Kagome allowed him to pull it over her head.

"I'm fine," Kagome lied, tugging on her jeans. She quickly exited the room and closed herself into her own room next door. The miko threw herself at her bed, buried her face in her pillow, and cried. Why did everything have to be so complicated, so painful? She loved him, yes, but she was still angry, and she refused to let him think that everything was fine between them. They would not be together until she was completely over his betrayal, and she knew that would take time.
She probably shouldn't have done what she did, cutting him before it was necessary and allowing him to pleasure her, but she couldn't help it. She craved contact with the taiyoukai just as he did with her. It was as if they were being pulled together magnetically, and no matter what she did to try to keep her distance, the pull continued to grow stronger.
