Chapter Twenty One

Only You

Kagome sat frozen in shock ,because she wasn't expecting this, but the miko soon moved her lips slowly underneath his. Before long Kagome felt Inuyasha try to deepen the kiss, walking to lean her against the wall. Kagome felt her arms involuntarily come around his neck to pull him closer. Inuyasha soon followed her lead and wrapped his around the small of her back.

His lips roamed from her lips to her chin ,down the slope of her neck ,to her pulse point where Inuyasha nibbled on,and while his arms carressingly held her lovingly in place. Kagome moaned against his ministrations, only encouraging him in leaning into his touch , and until the hanyou had spoken to remind her of her confusion everything was bliss.

" Kagome ..you don't know how I 've waited for this... How long I 've wanted you and only you.. As my mate ..Will you let me ?" Inuyasha whispered between kisses and the moans that flowed from him from her touch.

Kagome pulled away from Inuyasha's embrace and stepped to the side with her eyes to the ground .Once she looked at him once again , it was his turn to look at her confused. The miko straightened her kimono ,then went to fix his before she answered his questioning eyes.

" Could we talk after breakfast everyone is expecting us but I do want to talk about this because I am slightly confused, aren't you already mated to Kikyo?" Kagome inquired.

"No ..I' m not " was all the hanyou said before offering her his arm and leading her to the dining hall " But your right we will be discussing this afterwards,this subject is far from over ,Kagome.." Inuyasha smirked at her response as they entered the room with all of their friends waiting for them.

" I would be afraid that you weren't Inuyasha, and instead a decoy of Naraku ,for you not to stubborn on any subject to just let it go Inuyasha"Kagome stated

Kagome and Inuyasha were at the dining hall's door but before walking into the room,she was slightly surprised when the hanyou pulled her back into his chest from behind to huskily whisper the words , that made her feel suddenly dizzy and weak with want.

" Definately not , you know me well .. Your right though especially when it comes to you ..I can't let you go, not this time". Inuyasha taunted and smirked when he smelled a spike of arousal laced within her scent

Inuyasha turned her ,pinning her against the wall next to the door and smothered her in a searing kiss before taking her hand on his arm and escorting her into the dining room. Everyone turned to greet them as they sat down ,eliciting a smirk from Sesshomeru when he noticed the blush on the young miko's face. Inuyasha just gave him a silent nod and resumed the task at hand to eat from the plate that sat in front of him,not realizing that his eyes had a swirl of crimson in their depths. Although his brother Sesshomeru did , and before his brother did something stupid, that he'd regret later,the elder of the two stepped in.

" Inuyasha may I have a word with you after we finish eating ,it won't take long " Sesshomeru asked noting Kagome's eyes fall on both of them ,she now noticed the reason Sesshomeru's concern.

" I have something that I need to take care of first then I will meet with you ."Inuyasha said

Before anything else was stated Kagome stood and walked towards Inuyasha ,feeling both brothers eye's on her ,and stopped behind the hanyou. With a wink to his brother Sesshomeru ,Kagome tried to convince Inuyasha to otherwise to meet with his brother first, with her charm.

"Inuyasha ,I think you need to see you brother first and then come find me .." Kagome taunted from behind ,whispering so only he could hear

" I want to find you now ..Kagome " Inuyasha returned while taking her hand and bringing it to his lips ,ignoring the surprised gasps at his openly showed affection towards Kagome.

" Kagome Run! " Sesshomeru yelled noticing that Inuyasha's eye's were bleeding crimson and his obviously loosing battle all but showed in his eyes.

Inuyasha took off in in the direction where his mate just left in ,and was slightly peeved when Sesshomeru pushed him back to detour his demon's desires until Inuyasha regained control. To the demon within Inuyasha ,Kagome was his mate whether or not she thought otherwise. Inuyasha didn't feel that way ,he wanted Kagome's approval and acceptance of the bond the hanyou wanted with her.

Though right now his beast was in control and suddenly Inuyasha was grateful that Sesshomeru had Kagome out of there before he lost control of himself .Hopefully together both brothers could reign the side of himself and that his mate was smart enough not to hide herself where he could find her. Because if this demon side of him actually got passed Sesshomeru and he found her ,Inuyasha couldn't promise he could resist taking her as his mate.

The evening gala had come close to arrival,and Kagome still hadn't heard anything ,that she became worried . It wasn't until Sesshomeru had sniffed her out regardless of the cloaking barrier she had placed on herself in her hiding place. Opening the door to his bedroom closet to find her huddled in a corner,Sesshomeru offered her his hand . Kagome took it before being led back to her bed quarters to ready herself for tonite.

"I will leave you here until I return to escort you to the celebration ceremony . Nice hiding spot by the way, I don't believe my brother would've ever thought to look in my bedchamber's closet ,and the cloaking barrier was a nice touch . Don't worry about Inuyasha ,he will be fine ,this Sesshomeru will makes sure of it. See you tonight, Lady Of The West" Sesshomeru stated before taking his leave.

Kagome stepped in her room after closing and locking her door to freshen up for tonite's gala .Noticing the white kimono with green haori with the seal of the west embriodered on it. Kagome quickly changed and readied herself until someone came to her door. Hesitantly ,Kagome went to the door afraid that it was that of her impatient soon to mate ,and opened it to find it to be that of a woman .

Happily opening it finding out she was here to do her hair, not finding anything to do with it yet. The woman introduced herself as Akiko while she began combing out her hair ,and placing little butterfly ornaments until her hair was in a french braid with small ringlets flowing inky locks from it's source. When everything was complete and Akiko left ,Kagome was left to wait.

A knock at her door interrupted her sleepy daze and awoken her to a surprise, when she opened the door ,one that wasn't Sesshomeru or Inuyasha, it was that of a familiar wolf demon.

" Kouga is that you ?" Kagome asked the man currently offering his arm

" In the flesh ,Kagome ,how is my woman doing ,Kagome??" Kouga joked while being taken into a big hug from Kagome.

" Good it's good to see you but I thought Sesshomeru was coming to get me?" Kagome asked

" Yea well something came up so I offered just to see you and spite the mutt" Kouga teased while walking them to the main hall

Kagome remained silent ,not really wanting to know the reasons why Sesshomeru didn't come and thought it was a nice chance to catch up with Kouga . So both of them eventually end up talking about old times and both were laughing by the time they entered the room filled with people. Kouga noticed her sudden nervousness so he decided to use his wolf charm on her to relax her.

" You know if you weren't already claimed by the mutt ,and accepted .I would've definitely made a move tonight ,you know that right.."Kouga smirked jokingly earning a smiling nod and a muffled giggle from Kagome

Sesshomeru stood from his seat as the two walked in the room , and took his stance in the center of the room to announce Kagome to their guests. Kouga led her through the crowded room to where Sesshomeru was standing and stood with her while Sesshomeru had her other arm now linked with his. Kagome looking around the room ,she noticed that Inuyasha was nowhere to be found within the large room.

Upon this Sesshomeru lightly squeezed her hand to offer any support that his brother couldn't provide her with at the moment , before he spoke.
