Msainsane: Thank you for your e mail. I will do my best to try to e mail you updates to the stories I am working on. I will also be trying to back up my stories since I did not have a back up copy of them to post on another site if AFF goes down again.
solitare1: I am glad you like the healer, I like him too. I have yet to give him a name, but I will eventually. I have been sick so I wasn’t able to update, but I am trying to do so now. I am just glad AFF is up again. I started having panic attacks over that since I don’t have backups to my stories. Kelaila: Ya sé que parece que Sesshoumaru no aprende de sus errores, pero lo es. También cosas van a mejorar para Karei, Shiro, e Inuyasha. ************************************************************************************************************************* I slept on Sesshoumaru’s shoulder for the rest of the night remaining by his side as promised. The healer removed the leaches from Sesshoumaru’s body and took one of them to test Sesshoumaru’s blood. While he did so I waited for Sesshoumaru to wake. I ran my fingers through Sesshoumaru’s long silver hair and held his hand hoping he would wake soon. His wounds seemed to heal on their own, but he still did not look well. As I sat with Sesshoumaru I prayed for him to get better and for the black blood to disappear. I wanted Sesshoumaru to accept the good feelings he had within himself and the negative ones to not be so prevalent in his body. Soon the messenger returned with word from Sesshoumaru’s Mother handing me the correspondence. She was going to come back to the castle to give her son some of her blood to save his life. Sesshoumaru’s Mother also was going to punish her son when he was well for fighting with Shiro and once again harming his mate. As night fell Sesshoumaru opened his eyes feeling weaker than he had ever felt in his life. He looked over at his Karei who was sleeping on his shoulder and holding his hand. She had not left his side as he feared she would. Sesshoumaru had been defeated in battle and felt humiliated by it. It was a shame for him to be so weak that he could not kill Shiro. However, he had a lingering respect for Shiro’s techniques with the sword and was somewhat pleased that he could find somebody worthy enough to battle. Now Sesshoumaru also was aware that Inuyasha was beyond his reach. His plan would not be able to be implemented to remove his pups from the boy. Inuyasha would be protected by his mate and Shiro’s soldiers. The only reason Sesshoumaru did not feel as hateful as before towards his brother and Shiro was that they allowed his Karei to remain at his side. He had heard Karei’s declaration of love to him. That was something he desired deeply. She had also protected his life which he never asked for, but was grateful for none the less. Sesshoumaru squeezed my hand gently and the action woke me from my slumber. I looked into his eyes and wondered what he was thinking. “My Karei this Sesshoumaru wishes to thank you for saving my life and for your words.” Sesshoumaru said. I simply nodded and nuzzled him gently showing him my affection. Sesshoumaru pulled me up to kiss me. I kissed him back with as much feeling as I could put into the kiss. I knew he needed to feel my love for him not just hear it. I hoped that with this knowledge of my feelings I could help change his heart and help him find the compassionate loving man that I knew he could be. “Sesshoumaru, please if not for me, but yourself stop hating so much. I don’t want you to die.” I said to him as he held me in his arms. Sesshoumaru nodded his head. A lot of the black blood had poured out of him and Sesshoumaru was feeling something within him he never felt before. He felt remorse for his actions and slowly his heart was becoming free of all this hate that had festered in his body for years. “I need to bathe my Karei. Come with me.” Sesshoumaru said as I helped him up from the futon. He was still very weak from the blood loss and I had to help him limp slowly back over to the bathing chambers. We both made our way to the cords where he pulled one to call for the bathing servants. I helped Sesshoumaru undress and remove his armor so it may be cleaned. The front of his kimono was stained with thick black red blood and when I took it off some of the blood had spilled upon his torso. The alabaster of his skin against the black red blood was almost beautiful to my demon eyes. It also reminded me that even though demons lived for hundreds of years that they were still vulnerable to death. This blood was Sesshoumaru’s weakness and in some ways it made him more touchable and fragile. Sesshoumaru was like a child when it came to feeling new emotions and feared being seen as weak because of his feelings. He was new to this emotion that Karei brought out in him. There was a need to protect what was his, but now it wasn’t just protecting her because he wanted what he considered his as in treating Karei like a pet. No, this feeling he had of protecting his Karei was now because he needed her to continue feeling this sense of peace. It was almost the same feeling he had towards Rin, but even stronger than that. Sesshoumaru couldn’t describe it in words, but wondered if it was indeed love he felt towards his little hanyou mate. The bathing servants arrived with everything needed to give their Lord and Lady a proper bath. As they helped Sesshoumaru into the tub I removed my clothing and joined him. He made me lean up against him as he was washed of all the blood on his body. The wounds from Shiro’s blade had mostly healed over and seemed to be almost nonexistent. “Leave us.” Sesshoumaru said to the servants after they washed our hair. The servants left and Sesshoumaru wrapped his arms around me and nuzzled my head with his own. We sat relaxing in the tub until the water became cold. Then we dried off and I had Sesshoumaru sit so I could comb his long silver hair this time. There were no tangles in it and it flowed beautifully down his back. Sesshoumaru grasped my hand and kissed it, then pulled me down so I could sit while he combed my hair. He was very gentle with the brush and removed the tangles in my hair without much of an issue. I had to admit I liked the way he brushed my hair and was careful not to run it over my ears like the servants did. I helped him with his robe and he helped me with mine as we made our way back to our bedroom. I pulled the covers over so He could slide in as he took off his robe letting it pool onto the floor. I too removed my robe and then we climbed into bed. “I must rest to regain my strength Karei. Sleep with me and let me hold you.” Sesshoumaru said and I nodded cuddling next to him as I watched him sleep until I too rested in his strong embrace. ******************************************************************************************************************* Inuyasha waited in the dojo for Shiro to come join him for a bit of sparing. Shiro promised to train him with the sword so he could improve on his techniques. Of course Shiro told him that for this lesson he would be going easy on him due to the pups and to see if he could pick up some of the more simple techniques before moving to the much more difficult ones. Being in a rather playful mood, Inuyasha also wanted to jump on his mate and grapple with him. The boy wanted to wrestle around a bit since he didn’t have to worry about hurting Shiro and Inuyasha loved to scrap. When Shiro walked up to the dojo he saw his cute little mate bouncing on his heels. He smirked since he honestly thought he wore the puppy out with as many times as they made love the night before, but it would seem Inuyasha was still full of energy. Suddenly Inuyasha attacked jumping on Shiro and tried to pull the demon to the ground with him. Shiro laughed as he gently rolled the pup onto the floor and started to tickle Inuyasha mercilessly. “So puppy wants to play.” Shiro said with a wide grin as Inuyasha was trying to fight the tickle torture while laughing his ass off. “Shiro! No more! Ahh!” Inuyasha cried out as he tried to catch his breath while wriggling around on the floor trying to get away from those fingers that were torturing him and making him laugh. Shiro rubbed his nose against Inuyasha’s with a playful smirk on his face. “You know I can’t grapple with you silly boy. But I can do this.” Shiro said as he once again tickled Inuyasha’s ribs before helping his mate off the floor. Inuyasha smiled at his mate and kissed him quickly on the lips. Shiro smiled as he pulled Inuyasha into his arms and kissed the top of his mate’s head before nipping one of those silly ears. “Come now let us start working on improving your skills.” Shiro said as he pulled away and had Inuyasha brandish his sword so he could teach him some simple moves that would keep him from getting so injured in battle. Shiro thought about using the simple wood swords for practice, but Inuyasha would probably break them. It would take time for Inuyasha to truly learn to control the strength of his attacks. “Inuyasha I am going to teach you some basic blocking moves to start with. Then as we go along we shall work on other techniques to see if you can incorporate both blocking and striking.” Shiro said and had Inuyasha stand across from him as he demonstrated so Inuyasha could follow along. Inuyasha wanted to move his blade faster, but Shiro told him to keep his strokes slow until he got the hang of the exercise. After about an hour of working on the blocking moves Shiro moved on to teaching Inuyasha how to use his sword to strike at an opponent while also blocking them from striking back. “Next time we practice we shall add a bit of your strength to this exercise. Brutal force is not always needed when you are attacking. I know it may seem like you must use all your strength against a foe, but in all honesty using so much force is a waste of your energy.’ “A one on one battle should not last more than a few minutes with the sword skills I am teaching you. From what I understand of what you told me you tend to get fairly badly injured by your enemies. Part of that is you use a berserker type of technique rather than allowing your sword to both take the damage as well as inflict it.’ “Your wind scar, backlash wave, and other power spells of your sword are there to finish the battle. However, you said that every time you use such things against an opponent you need to wait for your sword to recharge certain abilities. Wind scar does not take as much youkai power as the other defenses you have tapped into. I want you to be able to use all of your powers without a limit upon them.’ “Also now that you are almost a full blooded demon you should have some other natural abilities besides the blades of blood and iron reaper. You should also be able to project your youkai as myself and your brother can do.’ “After the pups are born I want to also teach you some different martial arts so that if your sword is not within reach you can still battle at your full potential.” Shiro said. Inuyasha nodded and placed his sword back into its sheath. The two men headed back into the castle where Shiro had Inuyasha help him with some paperwork before heading to the dining hall for lunch. Inuyasha was brought all sorts of delicacies like bloodied moose steak, marinated chicken thighs, wild rice cake, and raw pheasant eggs. He was also given some kind of dessert that was a type of pancake with sweet red beans. The servants also brought some kind of wild berry juice for Inuyasha to savor along with some fresh clear water from the nearby stream. Shiro drank down some blood sake and had tea set out for both of them to share. Inuyasha asked for more of the moose steak although he was to the point he was feeling quite full. “Inuyasha I want us to leave here for a while and go to the other hanyou village. I’ve pretty much finished all my work for this week and I normally travel a bit not spending too much time in one place for too long. Of course since you are with pup we won’t over do, but there is much to show you and I want you to get to know the people we rule over.” Shiro said. “Ok.” Inuyasha said as he pushed his plate back after devouring everything on it and drank a bit more of the berry juice before finishing off the water. “We will be traveling the long way to this place so I want to see how well you do riding a horse. It will be quite the walk if we do not take the horses and the narrow short cut to this village is not safe enough to travel on. The trails go up the canyon and the drops from the slowly deteriorating path are pretty steep.” Shiro said as they got up to walk over to the stables where two horses were set up by servants to mount now that their saddles were attached. The horses Shiro had were huge animals with beautiful coloring. The destrier war horses Shiro had, had been given as a gift for when he had traveled Europe for a time. The Arabians were also a gift, but Shiro preferred the war horse over the Arabians he was given. Shiro’s favorite mount was the black war horse he named Samson. The horse was well trained for battle and did not spook easily unlike the mare he was still training. Inuyasha would be riding the white war horse named Zeus. Zeus was used to beginning riders and was a bit older than Samson. Zeus had seen many battles and was also a horse that did not spook easily. Shiro felt Zeus would be the best to test out Inuyasha’s abilities with horseback riding. However, just in case things didn’t go well with Inuyasha trying to ride the animal he would have the carriage available for Inuyasha to use. Shiro helped Inuyasha up onto Zeus and had to adjust the stirrups a bit for him since Inuyasha was fairly short compared to Shiro. Shiro then handed the reins to Inuyasha before getting up onto his own mount showing Inuyasha with Samson how to move his horse about. The two men moved to a trot and Inuyasha felt himself bouncing in the saddle a bit. Then Shiro told him how to keep from bouncing around so much and had him relax a bit since Inuyasha was a bit tense since he had never done this before. “Inuyasha if you want Zeus to move faster you bend forward and give him a firm heal to the side. If you want him to stop you sit straight up and pull back on his reins.” Shiro explained as he took them from a trot to a run. Then Shiro slowed down a bit showing Inuyasha how to do this. “We will also work a bit on jumping. We may have to jump over a tree or other obstacle.” Shiro said as they stopped for a moment and Shiro took Samson out of the practice and lunging area to where there were a few obstacles so he could show Inuyasha how to jump over them. Inuyasha watched Shiro and he made it look so easy, but Inuyasha was nervous. “Just jump over the small ones until you get the hang of it Inuyasha.” Shiro said and Inuyasha nodded as he took Zeus around and of course Zeus knew what to do, but Inuyasha didn’t and almost fell off the horse after Zeus did three jumps simultaneously. “How do you make it seem so simple Shiro?” Inuyasha asked as he pulled Zeus around to try again. “Lots of practice and I have fallen from my mount when I was just learning so do not think that just because you may fall that you should completely give up.” Shiro said. Inuyasha continued to jump over the small obstacles and then Shiro had him try the medium sized jumps with Inuyasha doing his best not to fly off of the animal. “Ok Inuyasha we are going to try the taller ones, but you must allow Zeus to run for these ones so let me show you first how to do so and then you shall follow my lead.” Shiro said as he urged his horse on and Samson flew over the obstacles not knocking one of them down. It almost looked like Shiro and Samson were flying. It was beautiful to watch. “Your turn Inuyasha.” Shiro said with a smile. Inuyasha had to psyche himself out a bit before doing this, but figured if Shiro could do it than so could he. Zeus raced with Inuyasha towards the tall jumps and Inuyasha followed what Shiro had done doing his best to keep from falling. He made it over two of the hurdles, but when they got to the third one Zeus stopped and reared up as a snake slithered towards him. Inuyasha hung onto the horse for dear life since he was almost thrown from the animal. Shiro rushed over grabbing Zeus’s reins and used his acid claws to kill the snake. “Wooh boy…. “ Shiro said as he gently stroked Zeus’ muzzle trying to get the spooked horse to calm down. Normally Zeus did not spook, but it was a pretty large snake. “Are you ok Inuyasha?” Shiro asked. “I am now. Stupid snake.” Inuyasha said and Shiro took the reins bringing Inuyasha back over to where Samson stood kicking at the ground a bit. “Well I think you did a pretty good job today with riding Zeus. I don’t think we need the carriage, but I do have some large saddle bags for us to use if we decide to buy anything while we are at the village. We will bring some rations, water bladders, and a blanket with us.’ “We can also pick some apples for the horses and ourselves along the way. There is a fruit orchard we will pass on the road and we will be following the stream up so the horses can get plenty of fresh water as well as ourselves.” Shiro said as he helped Inuyasha off the horse. Inuyasha and Shiro walked the horses back to the stable master who was told to prepare the horses for travel. The horses would be placed in their battle armor and wear the colors of the Lord of the East. Shiro had Inuyasha dress into something a bit more formal for their visit. He was to wear the colors of the East with the white hakumas and the blue chrysanthemum crest on the haori. He was also wearing the full set of armor Shiro gave him including the bracers that had the crest on them and a pair of fingerless dragon skin gloves. Shiro was wearing something similar to Inuyasha except his gloves were white and acid resistant with a hole in the center of both palms where he could use his poison flower acid against any foe foolish enough to try to attack them. Making Inuyasha sit down, Shiro combed Inuyasha’s hair and pulled it up into a topknot to keep it out of the boy’s face. Shiro then combed his hair with Inuyasha’s help and also had his hair pulled up into a topknot except he had Inuyasha put a few blue ribbons throughout it. Both Shiro and Inuyasha put their swords onto the frogs attached to their obis and Shiro also had a double bladed axe at his side that was razor sharp. He brought a sharpening stone with them placing it into one of the saddle bags. Shiro checked all the saddle bags to see if everything was ready as he helped Inuyasha onto Zeus before he hoisted himself onto Samson. The two men would be riding until dark and spending the night in the forest for the rest of the evening before heading out again. It was quite the trip and would take about three days to make it there on foot if they did not stop, but on horses they could make the trip much faster. As Shiro and Inuyasha rode through the forest everything was peaceful and quiet other than the birds chirping from the tree tops. The trail they followed was fairly easy and wide enough that both horses could walk side by side. Samson and Zeus were used to being ridden together so there was no disharmony between the two stallions as they trotted along the trail. Inuyasha looked up to the trees noticing how tall and majestic they were. It would be fun to fly from treetop to treetop sometime once he got to know these woods. “Our travel should be rather uneventful for the next few miles. Bandits and demons pretty much stay away from my territories unless they wish to be made examples of. Up ahead you will see what I am talking about.” Shiro said as they kept riding for the most part in silence. Inuyasha wasn’t a big conversationalist. Unless there was reason to talk he did not do it much. When they got further down the road Shiro showed him the bones of dead demons and humans that he had hanging by nooses, a few were tied to rocks in chains, and there were the remains of some unfortunate souls that had their heads on pikes as an example of what happens to the bandits, thieves, spies, and enemies of Lord Shiro. “Inuyasha we won’t linger here. The spirits of the damned who I did not lay to rest still reside in this area. No demon or man will remain sane if they come through this place at night or disturb my warnings. I have a spell that keeps these souls trapped here. The only time this place is disturbed is when I must make new examples of our foes, but I do that during daylight hours. Not even I tread here during the night although I can hear the screams of those foes I have left there. I mainly chain them to the rocks and hang the body or bones of the prior offender letting them suffer the madness. It is a slow death, but necessary if I want to keep the peace in my lands. This is my way of sacrificing to the demon gods. It may seem cruel, but if I were too kind then innocents would suffer. I fully protect this land with my life and I always keep my promises to my people.” Shiro said and Inuyasha shivered. He was glad he was on Shiro’s good side. Inuyasha did not trust spirits and even seeing his Father in spirit form freaked him out a bit. “Let’s get out of here.” Inuyasha said as he moved Zeus from a trot to a gallop since this place was giving him the creeps. He could imagine these men screaming and his imagination made him freak out even more as he upped Zeus’ pace to a full out run with Shiro trying to catch up. When Inuyasha saw there were no more bones of the dead he slowed down his pace allowing Shiro to catch up. “Are you ok Inuyasha?” Shiro asked in concern. “Ya, it just was like they were all looking at me as if they wanted me to join them and it creeps me out a bit. I can almost imagine their screams.” Inuyasha said and Shiro understood. “It is also my least favorite part of this journey we travel, but it has its purposes.” Shiro said. “Ya, well I have dealt with bunches of dead bodies before human and demon. It ain’t like I am afraid of seeing death; I just don’t much care for dealing with spirits especially evil ones.” Inuyasha said rubbing the back of his neck in frustration. He really didn’t mean to freak out so badly, but fact was he had felt evil before and that place was swimming in it. That much evil in one place reminded him of Naraku and Inuyasha did not want to imagine another asshole like that even in spirit form. “It is ok to be afraid of it Inuyasha. I do feel fear to of that place which is why I do not go into it at night. Still I consider it a necessary evil since it does ward most of my enemies away from my home. I have been lucky to have peace for as long as I have had it. I wish to continue doing so.” Shiro said. Inuyasha nodded and tried to relax a bit now that they were far away from that creepy haunted part of the forest. The two men traveled a few more miles up the trail until it started to get dark. Shiro showed Inuyasha the orchard where they stopped and grabbed a few apples for themselves and the horses. Shiro then walked with Inuyasha over to the stream with the horses so they could get some water before tethering them to one of the trees for the night. Inuyasha gathered some wood while Shiro chopped at some of the dead tree trunks with his axe gathering the bigger pieces of wood for the fire they were going to set. Inuyasha found a patch of dry grasses then he took a piece of flint out of the saddle bag and a small block of steel. Striking the two together he made a large spark that ignited the dry grass as Inuyasha blew softly on it until the dry dead wood started to catch the flame and soon there was a crackling fire. Then Inuyasha put the fire kit back into the saddle bag. Shiro added some larger pieces of wood to the fire to keep it going. “Inuyasha I am going to hunt for us so I will be right back.” Shiro said and Inuyasha nodded as Shiro changed forms and went out into the night as a huge black demon dog. Inuyasha figured he would stay by the fire and watch the horses until Shiro returned. He tried not to think of that creepy place, but it was hard not to. He kept feeling that there were eyes on him although the horses seemed to be perfectly calm. Inuyasha normally would sleep up in the treetops where he could see all around him and usually no one would bother him. He did recall the times that he actually could sleep and that were when his pack of friends was around. It was rare when he would sleep on the ground, but tonight he would deal with it. Shiro came back after about twenty minutes carrying a nice fat buck over his shoulder as if the thing weighed nothing. “I hope this will suffice for dinner for the both of us unless you want something other than venison.” Shiro stated. “No this is great. Thanks. Just let me see if I can save the hide. I might figure out a use for it.” Inuyasha said as he dug in the saddlebag for the knife so they could gut this deer and keep the hide of it for whatever Inuyasha felt like doing with it. “Do you mind if I take the liver and heart this time?” Shiro asked. “You can have them.” Inuyasha said as he cut those parts out of the deer handing them to Shiro. After skinning the deer Inuyasha tore out the ribs and feasted on them. The meat was delicious and the two men shared the legs and then finished off the rest with Inuyasha chewing one of the femur bones to clean his teeth. Shiro yanked off the antlers to chew on as Inuyasha used the brain to soften the hide. The two men were covered in blood up to their elbows so the two of them went to the stream to wash off a bit deciding that next time they would take off their armor and haoris to feast. It was just good that the blood hadn’t dried or they both would be sporting pink sleeves rather than white. Shiro pulled out the blanket and laid it close to the fire, but far enough away from the smoke. Inuyasha stayed awake until the fire died down a bit while he and Shiro talked a bit about old battles they had fought in before they both moved onto the blanket. Inuyasha cuddled into Shiro’s embrace falling asleep feeling both comforted and safe in Shiro’s arms. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
