22:� Tag! You�re It!

�� Kagome tried to quell a mischievous
smirk as she thought of something fun to do that she knew would entice Koga to
act as he used to when they were younger.�
She was feeling somewhat frisky and wanted to feel her youth and
vitality.� She felt his grip on her
tighten momentarily before he almost imperceptibly lifted his nose to take in
some scent.� It was not an uncommon
gesture.

�� She scanned ahead on the path, taking
note that she didn�t hear any other people and that it wasn�t overly
curvy.� Her mind counted down before she
took off in an unexpected run.

�� It was immature and childish, and it
was freeing and fun.� She couldn�t
contain her mirth as she taunted her mate.

�Tag;
you�re it!� Catch me if you can!�� Her giggles invaded her voice, making her
sound like the teenager that he had first met rather than the full grown woman
that had weathered many horrors, battles and losses.

�� She knew that he could catch her
without a problem.� It was something
that she was counting on.� She was
trying to decide how to keep this going more than a few seconds when she took
off through the trees and headed straight for the lake.� It would be refreshing, and she knew she could
swim extremely well.

�� Koga was taken by surprise when his
mate simply took off from his embrace.�
He thought that all she wanted was a simple walk and some cuddling.� Now, she was running away and teasing him
like a child.� Well, it was a game two
could play at, but he just had to keep close to her.

�� The game pulled at his more
instinctual self as this was something that was common practice within a wolf
pack.� The cubs played this game as a
fun way to train themselves to track and chase.� Adults would play with them from time to time to help advance the
younger ones to be better.� Of course,
this game being played between a male and female held a much more adult connotation,
and he would make her pay up for it too.

�� He nearly skidded on some loose dirt
on the path when she unexpected changed her course just as he was wrapping his
arms around her middle.

�� He could afford to loose those few
seconds, but it drove the retribution that she would give to him even
higher.� It was a smart move, but it
also made it harder for him to keep her completely in his sight.

�� He heard a splash just as he broke
through the last line of trees.�

�� The vixen had jumped into the lake,
fully clothed.

�� He took a few seconds to decide
whether to follow her in or to just ghost her movements so that he could catch
her as soon as she came out of the water.

�� He saw his chance as she dove into the
lake, smoothly evading her mate in the little game that she had started.� He shook his head.� The childishness was palpable but amusing in the light that she
displayed them.� The urge to chase was
buzzing in the back of his instinctual mind as it egged him into the actions
that he completed next.

�� The wolf had stopped and was dashing
around the shoreline.� That meant that
he could press the advantage by going in after her and emerging on the other
side of the lake.� It was a simple but
effective plan.

�� He was carrying it out before he had
finished the very thought.� The miko was
just emerging from her initial dive and was sucking in oxygen, getting ready to
swim in a completely different direction.�
Her movements were hindered a bit by the weight of her clothing that she
was shedding in the strides.� Her
bottoms were coming off first.

�� He would enjoy the bare leg.

�� He grasped her before she had disposed
of the only article of clothing that she had pulled off in an attempt to
improve her pace.� He knew that she
would try to scream or something, so he had to get her face pressed into his
chest to restrain any bubbles or any other phenomenon that would give away
their position.� Almost no time had
passed from him diving in to them cresting the water on the other side of the
lake.� He leapt out and kept going until
he knew that they were clear of the campgrounds.�

�� He gnashed his fangs and pulled her
back to him when she shouted and pulled away.

�� He was the one in control of the
situation, and that included her.� It
was the way that it was.� He would not
allow it to be any other way.� She may
have pulled away, but he ended up pushing her away forcefully and enjoyed the
shock that crossed her face accompanied by the pain that she experienced when
she crashed into a tree right behind her.��
Her body started to crumple, but she managed to use the tree to remain
upright.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

�� There were only two options, and
neither one would ever work.� It was a
fight or flight situation.� If she ran,
he would hunt her back down before she would be able to complete a half of a
dozen steps.� He would kill her for
fighting back.

�� Fear and anger floated up her body,
starting at the pit of her stomach, effectively cutting off the feeling to her
legs and quite possibly their functioning.�
She would just have to hope that they worked when he started to stalk
close to her.

�� She studied his every move as he
studied her face.� One would say that
they were sparring, but she wouldn�t have had a snowball�s chance in hell at
fighting back.� Not even an initial
move.

�� He was less than a breath�s away
before she even registered that he had moved.

�� She knew that it was a move designed
to unbalance her, but she didn�t think that she could be intimidated more than
she already was.� Her eyes connected
with his, boldly displaying her anger.

�� She knew that she was doing something
incredibly stupid.

�� She also knew that she might not
survive her momentary flight into idiocy.�

�� Koga saw her surface, but she
disappeared back under the water.� He
knew that she was probably trying to get out without him realizing it, but
after a short period of time, he was becoming nervous that something had
actually happened.� He dashed under the
water but found no sign of her except a footprint in the bottom where she had
pushed off to resurface.

�� He got out of the lake as fast as he
could manage and began to run the perimeter of it in hopes of catching her
scent.�

�� The fact that he could not find her
terrified him.� He should never have
allowed her to taunt him into a game like that.� Not with someone that was close that he didn�t trust.� He couldn�t believe that he had been lucky
enough for her to not mate one dog only to have another dog sniffing around her
as soon as he had finally claimed her.

�� A growl rumbled out of his chest as
the bitter taste of jealousy and possessiveness flowed through him,
unstoppable.� It pushed to surpass the
speed that he normally exhibited.

�� He quelled a growl when he finally
picked up on not Kagome�s scent but rather on another�s scent.� Before he had even really formed a plan, he
attacked through the trees to land his instinctual surprise attack on the
waiting dog.

�� Sesshomaru knew the wolf was coming
and turned in anticipation.� He was
knocked down when the wolf landed, but he had not been injured as Koga
had.� He had managed to get his claws
into the side of his attacker and draw blood.

�� They were facing off when he felt a
slight weight to his back before he a small tingling sensation began to creep
down his spine and spread out from there.

�� That tingling turned into a burning
that quickly developed and increased to something practically unbearable.� Time didn�t hold any markers for him as it
steadily grew worse and worse.� A
horrible sound emerged from him without him realizing that he was making any
noise.� All that existed for him in that
time period was agonizing, horrific, cruel pain.

�� He couldn�t determine how long he had
been stuck in that universe of torture before he was finally released.� Just like when a person is being
electrocuted by a faulty wire or something, he could not move away or be
released under his own volition.�

�� Blackness was starting to creep into
his vision, but he managed to stave it off as he moved further away from
whatever was behind him.� He knew that
that moment would probably be the time to make his escape in a strategic
retreat.� That was something he had
never had to employ.� He began to work
out his plan while facing off and keeping an eye on both of the beings near
him.

�� Kagome had had trouble tearing her
hands off of Sesshomaru, but she was more worried about her mate.� Koga was limping, but trying to maintain his
fighting stance.� It was clear that he
was confounded by what had happened.� He
looked at her and to the dog demon lord turned doctor that was on his knees in
between them.� It was something that
neither could have imagined for anything.

�� Her body was still in the fight or
flight reaction stance.� She steadied
herself and began to look around, forming a plan.� If only she had a way of binding Sesshomaru.�

�� The large dog demon started moaning as
he finally began to regain his senses enough to become lucid and threatening.

�� Kagome did the first thing she could
think of.� She tackled him and held him
down to the best of her ability.� She
hadn�t purposely used her miko powers on him before, but she was doing her best
to pull up a small amount of them to help her with this impossible feat.

�� Koga knew that Sesshomaru had ripped
through the muscles in his side, and those muscles were quickly healing.

�� What he didn�t know was what Kagome
was doing.� She was trying to use her
minute and almost nonexistent weight to hold down a very strong, very angry
demon lord.� That just wasn�t going to
work.� It also couldn�t end well,
particularly for his mate.�

�� He did his best to take off running
and to grab her at the while in flight.�
He only got so far before he fell down.�
He was still having trouble utilizing his speed along with his strength
due to the extensive damage.

�� He was surprised when something ran
into him and shoved both him and his mate out of the path they had been
speeding down.� He looked up and was
surprised at the grin that was being flashed down on them.� It was one that was a reminder of centuries
back.� He knew that it was one that
Kagome had adored, laughed about even.

�� You�ll only cause more problems by
running like that.� You should
already know that Koga,� Inu Yasha stated emphatically.

�� Kagome gave a speculative look between
the hanyou and demon before her eyes enlarged and giggles erupted from
her.� Her internal amusement continued
as she smacked her forehead and started to calm herself.� She then gasped and looked at the trees
behind them and began to draw closer to Inu Yasha and Koga.� �He�s coming this way now,� she whispered.

�� Old habit had Kagome standing at the
ready right behind Inu Yasha.� She
stared and waited for Sesshomaru to break through the trees.� The tense stillness settled over them.

�� They waited.

�� Confusion zapped through the group as
nothing came.� Kagome looked
around.� �I know I felt him coming,� she
mumbled, conveying this unexpected turn of events.

�� Inu Yasha sighed in something that
resembled regret and relief.� Koga
grabbed Kagome and pulled her close, kissing her beyond the stunned silence.

�� Everything else for them disappeared
for the moment as they rejoiced in the taste of each other that gave way to the
healthy vitality that they shared.

�� One thing they knew, if Sesshomaru
wasn�t coming through, then he had most likely retreated for the moment.� Kagome�s miko surge had depleted a lot of
his energy.

�� His hands pushed inside of the back of
her shirt, making him moan at the warmth of her skin there.� Her legs wrapped around his hips to keep him
close.� Arms wrapped around one another
in vice like grips.� Their bodies were
giving away the desperation that they felt after the attack.� Nothing could ever separate them as far as
they were concerned until a coughing sound interrupted them.

�� Kagome had trouble catching her breath
and holding her blush at bay.� It was
mortifying to think that Inu Yasha of all people had caught her kissing anyone,
let alone Koga.� It was an old taboo for
her as it was something that she couldn�t imagine happening when she had been traveling
in the past and had first met her now mate.

�� OMG!�
She was practically dry humping her mate in front of another guy.� It was just the fact that it was in front of
anyone!

�� Slowly, as not to draw any more
attention directly on her, despite the fact that it was already there, she
slipped behind Koga and used him as a visual shield as she calmed herself down.

�Kagome
and I will be getting married in a human ceremony.� I know she will want you and yours to come.� We will let you know more details later,�
Koga injected into the thick silence.� One
minute, he had been kissing and loving on his mate.� The next, he had air, and that was it.

�� Inu Yasha was stunned at the display
he saw as Kagome and Koga attacked each other in a rough and stimulating kiss.� Once upon a time, he would have thrown a fit
over that.� Now, he just wanted to know
that his little miko was happy and taken care of.

�� Just by looking at the tender way Koga
was stroking her arm as she hid behind him in an attempt to quell her
embarrassment, he knew that she would be happy.

a fic that was centered on Sesshomaru seeing Kagome in the future.� I started thinking about all the changes
that Koga would have gone through with Kagome only going through particular
ones as well as how this anomaly would effect Sesshomaru.� LOL�
