Chapter Twenty Two

Lady Of The West

" Thankyou everyone for your attendance tonight and may I introduce and announce the return of Priestess Kagome and The Lady Of The West .As my sister in my court I myself and my comrade chief of security, a dear common friend to us will now mark her as pack, until such time when she takes a mate ,we will be her mates by pack " Sesshomeru stated

It wasn't long before Kouga and himself took stance to either side of the miko,allowing their fangs to elongate ,their demons exposed to claim her as pack mate.Kagome bowed then rose to be nuzzled by two demons on either sides of her neck and as explained by Sessomeru, wrapped her arms in acceptance of the bond around both him and Kouga,and barred her neck to both of them as they sunk their fangs into her supple flesh. After they released their hold on her neck they licked and sealed the wound .

" I appologize for my brother not being able to be here Lady Kagome but considering maybe it's a good thing he is not present." Sesshomeru whispered looking to the wolf before standing with Kouga on either side of Kagome engaging in a bow.

Kagome didn't understand why Inuyasha wasn't here but agreed with his brother wholeheartedly that he wasn't here, because if he was they would have a very mad demon on their hands. Smiling to the cheering crowd , Kagome felt weird as something in her inside changed ,not only did she feel closer to both Kouga and Sessomeru ,but as she looked at herself Kagome saw that she changed on the outside too. To her surprise ,Kagome had a tail very much like Sesshomeru's texture and length but the coloring of Kouga's .

Feeling atop of her head ,and looking at a near by mirror she noticed that she now had white ears with brown spot's on it. While Kagome's eyes carried Sesshomeru's ashen gold but with pink and brown flakes that seemed to make her eyes sparkle . Her hair had grown down to her waist that looked naturally textured and flowed with a mixture of silver and brown . Kagome was pleased to see her body mature nicely into her hanyou form, while Sesshomeru and Kouga sat back and admired their work.

The rest of the night seemed uneventful as everyone conversed, mingled, and ate. Music began to play encouraging everyone to dance , Kouga sliding in to take Kagome's hand and dance to keep her mind off of anything but enjoying herself. Sango and Miroku glided next to them to keep the hanyouess laughing with subtle conversation about someone's curiosity regarding bearing children, earning random slaps from Sango .

Sesshomeru glided in with Rin to check on how Kagome was fairing,and surprisingly she was having fun. Miroku switched places with Kouga and jokingly groped her butt ,telling her that he was just making sure that it was still firm after the transformation.

" Sango !" Kagome yelled asking for permission to hit him.

" If you don't I will!" Sango seethed from Kouga's arms

"Very well Miroku ,You heard it I can hit you " Kagome said with a smirk before slugging him hard knocking him out cold.

"Oops ,I am sorry Sango ..I guess I don't know my own strength " Kagome apologized while dragging him to a nearby chair

"It 's okay the bruise he'll get will be a reminder and will give him character for our wedding so I should be thanking you ,I could never get him that good !" Sango explained.

" hahahahahaha " Kagome's laugh rang through the room while Sesshomeru rejoined Kagome

" I would have to agree ,I could pound the shit out of the monk for touching you but it was more entertaining watching you do it" Inuyasha said standing next to Kagome and Sesshomeru then offering his hand to the hanyouess.

" Would you dance with me Kagome?" Inuyasha noticed before she answered that she look to Sesshomeru and Kouga ,earning their nod she did as well

Inuyasha pulled Kagome to his chest then proceeded to rock back and forth ,while both Sesshomeru and Kouga regarded them while with Ayame and Rin. Looking up, Inuyasha noticed them watching them like a hawk ,sighing gently and laying his head on top of hers. After a few dances ,the hanyou looked to the girl in his embrace ,feeling humbled and bold lowered his neck and smelt wolf . Biting back the urge to growl Inuyasha leaned so that his lips rested close to her ears,before taking a deep breath to settle the realized understanding why his brother didn't fight him in his request.

'Sesshomeru planned for Kouga and himself to mark his mate as pack til such time she claims a mate ,they both act as her mates of pact. That would explain why Kagome seeks their approval it was the way of Inu's and Wolves and Sesshomeru thought it best for protection but still Kouga?? 'Inuyasha thought

" Kagome ,I want to talk to you in private and settle this tonight before my demon side comes, returning to fight me.. I promise it won't take long " Inuyasha whispered

' Kagome ,I know my brother wants to talk to you ,go ahead just know we will be there if any trouble arises but it's important to complete the bond 'Sesshomeru's voice flowed in her mind comforting her .

Earning a nod ,Inuyasha took her hand and led her back to her room for the much needed privacy the hanyou wanted for this conversation. After opening the door ,ushering her in then following shortly after then sitting on the bed and invited her to sit beside him.

" I am sorry that I wasn't here for you at the ceremony , Kagome. I really wanted to be there but there was something more important that I had to take care of before I can form a mate bond with you . " Inuyasha whispered ,looking at Kagome to gauge how she was taking it so far.

" Kikyo " Kagome replied quietly while lightly touching the bonds between Kouga and Sesshomeru ,requesting him filling her call with sorrow.

" Yes , I went to see Kikyo" Inuyasha stated then before he could tell her anything more Kouga and Sesshomeru busted through the room

"Inuyasha please go ,I don't want to hear anymore about Kikyo . Don't you think I have hurt enough being compared to her and know that before when you look at me, you saw her. That's why I am so happy that I don't look like that anymore , I can no longer suffer from the pain anymore of being being confused with her . " Kagome cried seeing the tears forming in Inuyasha's eyes and while the two other boy's standing guard

" Kagome ,No! You got it all wrong please listen to me and I will explain" Inuyasha fell to his knees in front of her and begged

" Fine ,I will leave then !" Kagome ran from the room with tears falling from her now crimson eyes leaving three demons in her wake.

Looking to Kouga ,Sesshomeru raised his brow sensing what his sister was telling both Kouga and himself through the bond .Raw pain searing through the path of the mark ,making them both experiance what she was turning their guarded faces into pained scowl's. Inuyasha attention was gained in curiosity as to what had had happened but before he could ask his brother spoke.

" You got this Kouga?" Sesshomeru asked through clenched teeth

" Yea I 'll take care of her ,you got the mutt?" Kouga returned

"Hey ! What are you talking about ,you'll take care of her ? I am supposed to do that !I don't want you anywhere near her ,you got me ? Inuyasha seethed

" Inuyasha ,I hate to break it to you but right now she doesn't want to see you and seeing that I am sure you don't want me around you ,your brother would be your best option seeing Sesshomeru is going to do what is best for you and that leaves me to tend to Kagome." Kouga taunted and continued to where he felt his sister's presence

" Oh Kouga , check my bedroom closet she often hides there and cloak's herself when she feel's the need to hide" Sesshomeru's voice faded while Kouga's hand lifted in understanding

" Alright lil brother let's go for a walk and talk , It's time you understood your intended mate" Sesshomeru calmly said

" Hey why does she hide in you bedroom closet and how do you know about her being able to cloak herself ,she hasn't been able to do that. " Inuyasha asked while following his brother out to the courtyard

" This Sesshomeru has known about that since the first time that she had done it ,and was when your demon took control in the dining room the first time .Kagome, to hide her scent put up cloaking barrier , I wouldn't be able to sniff her out, the scent was so faint , if I wasn't who I am . I never asked her why but it might be because that she feel's safe there" Sesshomeru confided.

" This Sesshomeru thinks that the reasons she feels that Kagome, the one she used to be was always compared to that of Kikyo , she fears that one day you will leave her for her past self , and she is rightfully so to feel that way .For now you need to get to know your mate and that Kagome needs to know who you are now Inuyasha.Did you end things with Kikyo? "Sesshomeru asked

" Ya ,though she wasn't happy about it .I almost didn't get out of there. The only thing that prevented Kikyo from taking me to hell this time was the thought of my mate waiting for me . Althought now my own mate doesn't want to see me!" The hanyou sighed defeatedly .

"Give her some time lil brother all of what's happened is alot to take in,and the last time she felt like she was always competing with Kikyo for you . It's going to take some time for her system to get over the shock in knowing that you are always going to be by her side and not running to her past self at every turn." Sesshomeru provided

Inuyasha and Sesshomeu walked the fields until they came to a cliff overlooking the grounds and two pairs of amber came across Kagome and Kouga. Kagome was picking flowers within a barrier , while Kouga just sat and watched listening while she cried her sorrow's .The girl' s aura flooded across the surroundings of the fortress ,you didn't need a bond to her to know she was hurting,and it was evident ,for it was rolling off her in waves. The hanyou mate stood watching for the barrier wouldn't even let Kouga in ,she was closing herself off from her own pack bond.

Inuyasha without hesitation leapt down from the overhang to where Kagome sat. The hanyou fell to his knees in front of her and watched, listening to what the girl was saying. Sesshomeru watched now alongside Kouga and signaled to him to allow his brother handle this one for Inuyasha is Kagome's mate. Kouga stubbornly abided what Sesshomeru had asked but he didn't have to like it.
