Chapter Twenty Three ~ Reliving The Past

After moments ,finally hearing what the stupid barrier couldn't hide from the hanyou ,Inuyasha was sadly shocked at what he was hearing. Before another thought crossed through Kagome's mind ,Inuyasha's hand had passed thru her barrier to lay upon hers. It wasn't without consequence ,the hand that pushed through her barrier sealing her off seared with burning electricity but the hanyou fought against it,until his hand grasped her's. Kagome's gasp alerted his eyes to immediately meet her's before he spoke to answer her questioning eye's.

" Your my mate ,Kagome .I am not going to leave you even if it takes forever for you to get it in your head and listen to me that's how long I'll wait for you. Until then I am staying right here with you at your side ,like you promised we would stay! " Inuyasha seethed through the pain ,clenching his teeth .

Kagome lowered her barrier and examined his scorched hands , closing her eyes beginning to heal his wound. Inuyasha immediately pulled his hand away from her's and replaced it on her cheek, while his other wrapped around to the small of her back .

" No Kagome, I am not worried about my hand it'll will heal in a couple days .If you want to heal me ,I need you and only you . I almost died the last time I lost you ,don't let me lose myself again this time . That's the reason I lost control of myself before is because I lost you already once and my demon refuses to stand by and let it happen again .If You still don't know then maybe this will prove my devotion to you ,the reason that I went to Kikyo is to say goodbye and to tell her that I chose you .." Inuyasha stated before giving her a quick peck on the lips and laying an old bounded stack of scrolls on her lap, and then leaving her alone.

Kagome sat there in shock staring at the retreating back of her mate ,as Kouga and his brother stood standing there ,looking just as befuddled as she was at Inuyasha's behavior. She lowered her eyes to the small book of scrolls that lay tossed on her lap , beginning to read.:

Hello Kagome , I just saw with my own two eyes ,you being taken from me ,pure devastation left in it's wake. I never got the chance to tell you what I wanted to what I so desperately needed to, for your sake and for mine. I hope you are back at home safe and sound,cause when I find a way back to you that is where I will come looking.

I am truly sorry that I kept what I am about to tell you for this long . I had my reasons though now they all seem futile and unfounded . I love you.... I have loved you for so long it now tears me apart. It was never Kikyo , well in the past years it was but ever since you came into my life ,awakening me from the prison of being sealed to that darn blasted tree.

I fell hard for you Kagome and even though it seems a little too late .I have to believe that's not true, I will die if it is. I am so sorry for the pain it has caused you for my actions in keeping this from you until now. I wanted too after we defeated Naraku and I tried ,Damn fucking distractions ,don't you hate them .

Don't worry you should know after reading this that I refused ,Outwardly refused on going to hell with Kikyo .I wish you could've seen the look on her face,once I showed her what she refused to see “myself” all of it, before my conversation was over . Ha ,you would've been so proud I wish you were there .Hell I wish you were here now ,so I could tell you and show you all of this in person.

Don't fret and don't worry for I will forever search for a way to be with you again. You can't be rid of me that easily, silly girl .But seriously what ever you do Wait for me and don't you dare give up on me cause I am coming for you. And I will definitely Haunt you from where you lie. Ha ha , Just remember that I love you and as soon as I know how I will be with you again ,with you

by my side Until then Wait for me.

Kagome sat for hours reading until over the many scrolls ,all of them saying

the same as the last ,Inuyasha truely loved her. It was then that Sesshomeru had come to retrieve the girl now engrossed in words written in black ink.

'When did Inuyasha learn how to write?' Kagome thought remembering when she was blessed by fate to recieve one of his letters tucked inside his mother's compact in her time during the flood.

The girl now standing slowly to follow the lord back within the inside of the castle as many more visions of her life without Inuyasha flashed in her mind. Without taking her eyes off the direction to where she was going ,Kagome dug a pen out of her haori and scribbled a quick note to Inuyasha. Before Kagome stepped into her room and handing the scrolls to Sessomeru with the request of giving it back to his brother, before closing the door behind her.

Sesshomeru walked stealthly to his brother's corridor ,while taking a look at the many pages held in his hand,and skimming over the pages. It wasn't until he got to the last page ,where he read the delicate Kanji written underneath the darkened pained ,undertones written that of his brother's ,that he shook his head.

"Stubborn " Sesshomeru muttered when he came to his brother's door before without knocking ,stepping in to find the hanyou, with blazin red eyes sitting curled up in the corner of the room.

Sesshomeru glided to where his brother was firmly placed with his hands clenced at his sides ,blood dripping down to the floor, and sat beside him. Placing the scrolls into his brother's lap ,Sesshomeru sat back and watched as many emotions flooded his being . Taking a look thru the pages ,letting the pain from back then, return as they weighed upon his heart once again. Inuyasha slumped against the wall to brace his weight under the barrage of emotions that seemed to smother him, until Sesshoomeru flipped to the last page where it appeared someone continued where Inuyasha left off. The hanyou let his eyes on the beautifully written Kanji underneath his last entry.
