Thank you all for the reviews and ratings! Yes! I updated again! So, for those who are just catching up, I posted another chapter as well. So, if you haven't read the last chapter, go read it!
Figured I post another chapter, since I had the free time to.
Last part is a bit sad, FYI. Hope you all enjoy either way! Please rate and review! And starting next chapter, the plot thickens! :3
3
The sun was gone. The wind died down long ago. Everything felt so surreal yet imagined. Lying in the sandy beach, Kagome and Hojo stared up at the stars above them. It was truly a lovely sight to see. Their sand angels had already washed away by the waves, but they still had their fun.
It was everything she truly needed right now, because a part of her felt so empty. She felt numb for a moment, and knew this was the all part of the healing process. She will be alright, and she even assured Hojo that as well. She was no longer in denial, and after crying her last tears and saying good-bye finally, she felt a relief lifting off her shoulders being carried with the wind.
It was breathtaking.
And even though she felt empty and incomplete, she wasn't sad anymore. It was like after accepting that part of her life was over, she was able to look forward for once. Reaching up to the stars, she smiled a genuine smile after all was said and done. The water engulfed her legs, and as each wave passed over her, she felt at peace.
Again, when starting a new chapter, it always begins with the water. It was something about it that made her feel so at ease and relaxed, that she couldn't help but compare it the water to an oasis giving her life again. If she could forever be apart of it, she would. And this scene right now, this vacation, was something she personally enjoyed. She'd love to move here and be here, just so she could touch the earth's element that soothed her soul.
Inhaling the fresh air around her, she finally looked over to see her childhood friend. "Thank you Hojo." She whispered to him.
"No need to thank me, Kagii-chan." He teased using the nickname they all used for her when they were in primary school.
Smiling, she shoved her shoulder and blew him a raspberry. "I hated that nickname. I couldn't help but think I sounded like some type of curry food." She chuckled lightly, reminiscing of the past.
"Least it was better than what Ayumi called me. What was it again…"
"Juju-kun!" She snickered.
"Ah, yes! That's what it was. It was embarrassing when she would yell it out in class. I got made fun of a lot, but honestly I wouldn't change it for the world. Because in the end, we were still friends. All the funny nicknames we gave each other were our names for each other. No one else could use them. That was our bond, and I wouldn't change that for nothing." Hojo smiled, looking over to Kagome.
"Me neither, Juju-kun." She smiled, twitching her nose a little.
"Well, we should probably get going huh?" Hojo finally asked, not wanting to leave the shore.
"It is late." She stated. "But for once in my life, I am actually content where I am. I don't want to move because right now, I fear that if I did I would finally feel that release of saying good-bye. I want to enjoy this moment right now, at least until I'm ready to move."
Smiling in understanding, Hojo nodded but decided to sit up instead. Looking out to the horizon, he watched the gentle waves of the ocean collide against the shore onto his feet. "Hey Kagome…"
Shifting from her spot, she leaned up on her elbows and looked over to him. "Yeah, Hojo?"
"I'm sure he will be very proud of the woman you've grown to be."
Swallowing the emotions back down, she gave a tight lip smile and nodded. Looking away, she tried her best to keep her tears from falling, but it was in vain. At least this time, she wasn't sad while crying. What Hojo said made her feel even more full, because deep down - she always knew her father will be proud of her.
Tokyo, Japan
Tap. Tap. Tap.
He wasn't a fan of teeth grinding, but today he couldn't help but grind his teeth. All the wear down he was putting on them because of the company he was holding in his summer home. Why didn't he just go back to his other home and leave the Queens of Hell, and King of Maggots here alone?
Oh, that's right! Because if he left, his bitch of a wife would try and claim negligence before her impending death! And boom, the contract would be renewed like nothing happened. He really hated making deals with anyone, including humans.
This just was not his month.
And to make matters worse, Sado had brought it upon himself to sit in his own personal study. Drinking his most expensive, reserved scotch. He should gut the wolf, but then he will have to deal with war and that was just not something he wanted to deal with.
"I hear you son is well." Sado spoke up, trying to sound all caring and concern. "I told you he would be. No hard feelings right? Let bygones be bygones." He smirked.
He needed something stronger than scotch.
"Oh, I've talked with Taijiya Takano earlier. He sounded very upset earlier, and it was mostly aimed at you." He grinned.
"Are you here to gossip like a woman, or talk business like one? If it's gossiping, I have more pressing matters to attend to, which include making sure Kirai is as comfortable as she can be." He snarled out to the wolf.
"I'm just trying to make small talk with a friend. Is that so wrong?" Sado gave in silent chuckle. "But if you must, I shall leave you to attend your duties. I just came to say that there is a possibility of me getting what I want."
As Natsu continued his way towards the exit of his study, he paused as he heard those deadlier words. It was a trap, and he knew it - but than again it could very well be real. Inhaling sharply, he turned around and cocked a brow. "What?"
"A little bird told me that your son has been playing on enemy ground." Sado grinned. He enjoyed this moment. "Takano isn't very well pleased that his daughter, one and only, is being chased by a insect. I mean, who would want to be chased by a insect. It's gross, and pathetic." He shrugged his shoulders while walking over to pour him more scotch.
"Mind your words about my family in my home." Natsu glared over at the wolf. "If an insect is such a bad thing, why does your wife friend one?"
It was Sado's turn to glare. How dare his own words be turned against him? Sipping his beverage, he walked back to his chair and took a seat. "I've made a deal with Takano. My son, for his daughter." Grinning, "All you have to do, is help."
"I'm not taking any part in this." He was growing tired of this mind games. Never would he deny his son a chance for happiness.
"Oh, but you will help. You have to." Sado stated lethally.
"And what makes you so sure?" Natsu growled out.
"Because, if you son draws blood on the Taijiya girl - his life will be in danger." Sado smirked. "If I am not mistaken, the girl is pure. And she is promised to my son, making her the Kakutama property. One drop of her blood, and war will be unleashed on your family be me." He relaxed back in his chair, a smile wide with pride as he already claimed victory.
He couldn't say anything. There was too much at stake, and if what the wolf said was true, than his son's life was in danger. Once again, the nightmares of his own younger adult life came crashing down and Takano was going to win. No, not this time. He refused to kneel before anyone anymore.
But first, he had to play his cards right. He had to make sure to play the game until he found a way to come out on top. Looking over at Sado, he inhaled than finally sighed out. "You want a war, fine. But I won't be the one who starts it."
And with those last words, he made his way out of his study. Pulling out his cell phone, he dialed his son's number. "Come on Naraku, pick up." After a few rings, it went straight to voicemail. Fearing the worst, he inhaled sharply and quickly left the message. "Naraku - don't do anything! Call me when you receive this." Hanging up, he made his way down the long spiral stairs, into the main foyer, and out the front door.
Air.
He needed air. And he prayed that his son didn't screw his own life over before he got the chance to save it. 'Please God. Help me.'
Standing by the window pane, she looked inside to see her dear friend crumbling before her. What use to be the vibrant, black haired, red eye beautiful spider was now a weak, lifeless body. Her hair was tied back into a ponytail, and her eyes were hollowed with dark circles underneath. Her firm, bouncy skin was now thin and wrinkled, even her clothes looked two times bigger on her - and she was a small in size.
Kirai didn't look like Kirai Shigara Kasai anymore. She looked like an elderly woman suffering with death by her side.
A tear formed in her right eye, but she quickly brushed it away. It was uncommon for a yokai or hanyou to get sick, but when they did - there was only one disease that could make them ill. It was not common, but not rare either. Who would have guessed her dear friend would have caught YIV, similar to the HIV.
"Don't cry for me, Miyo-san." Kirai spoke in a croaky voice. "I was careless…" She tried to finish her words but instead began to cough terribly.
"I am not crying. I just cant stand to watch something so pitiful." Miyo stated coldly.
Smiling, Kirai shook her head and spoke up after her coughing fit was over. "Always pretending to be uncaring." Swallowing the little saliva she had to moisten her throat, she licked her lips and continued on. "I know you care."
"How can I not?" Miyo gave in. It was only here and Kirai, the other had decided to grab something to eat. Swallowing back the sobs that beckoned to leave, she bit her lower lip and placed her hand on the glass. "You were my little sister, and now you are dying before me. How can I not care about you?"
Coughing once more, Kirai brought up her weak hand to help calm her other coughing fit. "I was your little sister. Grant it…" She paused for a moment. "We weren't blood, but we had one another." She finished off, trying to keep her throat from being so scratchy.
"It still doesn't make this easier. I wish I could come in there and hold your hand, but it seems Natsu truly sealed this placed off." Miyo stated, looking around the area trying to find a way to at least touch her dear friend.
"He fears I will try to harm Naraku." Kirai stated calmly. "I wish I could see that boy."
"Why haven't you? His mother is dying, and he rather be with his friends than here?" Miyo angrily spat out. Children were so inconsiderate.
"I don't blame him." Kirai smiled. "I killed his stepmother, Miyo-san. We both did. We brought death to…" She stopped to cough once more before finally reaching over to drink some water. After moments of no more coughs, she continued on. "We killed Miroku's mother. I was never a mom to my son. I regret that."
Miyo scoffed and shook her head. "No. We didn't kill her. She died in that car accident."
"Yes, along with Daisuke's brother." Kirai stated sadly. "We killed her, Ryuu and Izaiyo because of our jealously? Why did we do that? What did we gain?"
"We gained power. And no one knows we killed them. No one." Miyo stated. "We had no part in that accident. It was just a car accident. Izaiyo and Akira just happened to be together while they collided into Ryuu. That was years ago, and we had no part in it. None!" She admitted, trying to believe her own lies.
Shaking her head, she let out a cough and finally closed her red eyes. "Believe what you want, nee-chan. I rather go knowing I did damage in this world. I regret my actions, but most of all I regret hurting my son."
Silence was shared between the two, which was short lived as the others came back with food. Sitting at the table in front of Kirai's glass room, they feasted for what felt like the last meal with their dear friend. At the corner of her eyes, Miyo couldn't help but see content in those painful, red eyes.
A inner peace she will never know, but at least her baby sister will know it before she left this world.
Kagome finally wished her friend good luck and a safe flight back home. Alone, she walked the shores of the beach for a moment longer before heading back. Inhaling the fresh ocean air around her, she wrapped her hands together behind her back as she continued to walk back to the bungalows. Today was a great day. Emotional, but still great.
Combing through her now damp hair, trying to untangle some of the tangled strands. Sighing as she felt sand all in her hair. She was going to need a shower again, but for some reason she didn't feel so annoyed by the sand and damped hair and clothes. She felt like herself, and for once she felt like she could fly.
Her thoughts instantly wondered to Sesshomaru, and a smile played over her lips. She will bring him out of that darkness too, even if he doesn't need her the entire journey there. She will always be by his side so whenever he calls for her, she'll be there. It was a vow she promised to herself, because in some way she was in his debt too. All her childish behaviors did nothing but annoy the both of them.
Now it was time to change all of that. He said so himself, she was the only one to make him forget the bad. And she will do anything in her power to help him forget it all.
No one should suffer that much pain.
No one.
Smiling and untangling her hair, she was oblivious to the person standing in her way. Crashing into the large body, she yelped and almost fell back until she felt a hand grab onto her arm. "Whoa there."
She knew that voice. Blinking back from LalaLand, she looked over to see Miroku and Naraku standing on the bridge heading towards the bungalows. "Hey there?" She asked a bit confused. "Why are you guys out here?"
"Could ask the same for you, little miko." Naraku smirked.
"Oh. I was just saying good-bye to a friend of mine." And to my father. She kept the last part to herself. There was no need to think about it anymore. It was time she free herself from the loss and pain of her father no longer being here.
"Well, it's getting a bit late. Satomi has been worried about you. Should probably hurry and head on back before she decides a search party is in order." Naraku chuckled.
"Would she really do that?"
"Yup." Miroku nodded. "She is a bit of a worry bird when it comes down to those she cares most about. She sent a party after me when she thought I was dead or something. Turned out I was only…"
"She doesn't need to know that part, baka." Naraku shook his head. "Just know that Satomi won't send anymore search parties for the moron here unless he doesn't show up for two days."
Cocking a brow, she looked over to Miroku who only held a snickering grin. Something told her that if she asked anymore questions, she wasn't going to like what the pervert said. Deciding to keep her mind at ease tonight without terrible images of naked Miroku, she nodded to them both and headed back to the bungalows.
Meanwhile, Miroku and Naraku watched as she left and was out of ear shot. "The day will come when you will one day have a daughter, Miroku. And she will love someone you truly despise."
"I don't despise you brother. I never will." Miroku defended.
"Yet, you refuse Sango to be with me. Why?" Naraku asked, looking over to the violet eye male.
Images of his stepmother, Akira, came to mind. Unlike his mother, she acted as she did give birth to him. She loved him with every ounce of her soul. She never loved neither him or Miroku more than the other. It was equal love. She showed him what a mother's love could be, and she also said that she'd love anyone who loved him the same way.
A hanyou had no place in this world. They were either hidden from society, or mocked. Luckily, the world was slowly come out from that dark age but it still pained him to know that his own mother never truly loved him because he was a hanyou. He was just glad Akira proved that there was good in this world, and because of her kindness and love - he held onto that hope that love would come for him. That good existed.
He needed to believe.
Finally, he brother spoke. "I love Sango, nii-san. Not in the way you love her, of course. But I do love her, and I want her with someone that is good and won't hurt her. I don't want that pure soul tainted, and think about it brother - the Kasai are about as tainted as any will get."
"That is because you only chose to see the bad, little brother. When I am with her, I don't fear of not being myself. I don't fear of being shunned and humiliated. She loves me, and that is what I love most about her." Naraku replied back, leaning back on the railing.
"You never told me what father said in the hospital." Miroku decided to try and change the topic a bit.
"Ignoring is futile, brother. But you're right." Looking up at the stars, he sighed. "I haven't told anyone, really. What father told me wasn't what I expected to here. He just said that he fell for a woman beyond all beauty. She was smart and funny, and held a great sense of humor. But she chose his best friend, and that was the last he ever saw her."
"Do you think it's Sango's mother he fell for?" Miroku asked.
The signs were there. It would explain why there were a few pictures in his father's firm that had both him and Takano smiling side by side together. Younger of course, but it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that they were friends before. "Maybe." He finally replied to his brother.
"Look, I'm not going to stand between you and Sango anymore. But the second you make her cry, I'll hurt you the only way I know how." Miroku stated firmly.
Again with the threats. Was he truly that evil that even his own brother had to threaten him about Sango? He understood Kohaku stating such, but for his brother…
It really made him think if he was the bad guy all along.
And he just didn't know it.
Sighing, he nodded and began to head back. This conversation already going sour, there was no use in still staying.
"Naraku…"
Turning around, he saw his brother with a defiant look. "You aren't evil. But you aren't good either. You have blood on your hands. Just don't put more on them when you have someone as pure as her."
"I think that's ships already sailed, little brother." Naraku stated, remembering the death of Ginta. "I just hope she will still love me come dawn." And with those final words, he left his brother alone.
Never had she felt so alive!
That steamy shower surely did the works on her soul and body. Stepping out the shower, she dried herself off and began to dress into her pajamas for the night. Coming out her hair and enjoying the fact that no sand was left in it made her so happy. That would be the last time she made sand angels, course for some reason she highly doubted that.
After she finished getting ready for bed, and brushed her teeth, she walked out the bathroom only to find Inuyasha and Sesshomaru talking. Feeling extremely awkward, she looked to the entrance to the bedroom and headed her way only to be stopped by Inuyasha.
"Where do you think you are going, Miss-Don't-Call-To let us know where you are!"
"Should I say sorry?" She blinked.
"Uh, yeah! Don't you know that your absence has made your cousin go ballistic. I mean, before she was pregnant she was a bit of a nut job. Now! It's like that knob got push to overdrive. DO you know how much we had to bear with?" Inuyasha glared.
"I'm taking it was a lot?"
"Don't get smart with me!" Inuyasha stated.
"But I'm not getting smart with you. You are taking simple statements and turning them into complex ones. That's your fault, not mine." She grinned.
"What?" Inuyasha stared for a moment, only to go through her words again and again through his head. Growling in frustration, he turned to his brother. "Say something!"
Ignoring his brother, he walked to the bedroom door and looked for the light brown hair male. "You." He called out, catching Jak's attention. "I'm afraid you left your dog in here."
"Oh, you think you got jokes huh prick? Come say that to my face!" Inuyasha snapped from behind.
"Is he talking shit again?" Satomi called out from the kitchen counter where her, Jak and Bank were sitting at.
"I think it's called squeaking. He's squeaking." Shippo answered from the living room sofa where he, Tsubaki and Souta were playing a video game.
Meanwhile, Sesshomaru grabbed Kagome's wrist and led her out the bedroom. Shutting the door, everyone paused what they were doing to hear a very loud yelp followed by a few thumps and a bang. "Help! Jak!"
Holding back his own snickers, Jak finally relented and headed to the bedroom. "Sess, don't hurt him too much! I still need him for my fun stuff! Sess!" He knocked on the door gently.
A few more thumps and another yelp came closer until the door finally opened and Sesshomaru walked out with no fluff or damage on him. Raising a brow, Kagome looked him over than back into the room to see if any damage was done only to have Sess grab her wrist again and drag her. "Where are we going?"
"Oh my god! Sess!" Jak called out from the bedroom, snorting in laughter. "I said not to hurt him that much!"
Ignoring everyone, the two finally made it out the bungalow only to see both Miroku and Naraku heading back inside. "Everything alright?" Naraku asked, looking between the two.
"Yeah." Kagome finally chuckled. "Sess just did something to Inuyasha is all."
"Oh dear." Naraku rolled his eyes and headed inside only to dodge what he assumed was a shoe. "Inuyasha! Tonight is not your night." Shutting the door behind him, Kagome and Sess listened in silence as the noise from inside increased.
Smiling, she shook her head and finally looked to Sess. "So… why did you drag me outside with you?"
"We need to talk." He stated simply.
"Oh." She felt herself preparing for the worst. Something about his tone made her feel like this wasn't going to be a good conversation. Did he regret their kiss earlier? Gosh, she was a fool to even think things might be different.
"You know, don't you?" He asked, looking at her with a strong intensity in his eyes.
Swallowing, she looked around somewhat confused. 'This seems like a trick question. Play stupid.' Finally, she answered back. "Know what?"
"Don't play games with me, Kagome. You know of my secret, don't you?"
"What secret? You have to be a bit more non-cryptic." She stated again.
"About my mother and me."
Oh crap. How did he know? She was sure that the message on her phone was deleted. And she didn't do anything else to make him assume such. Swallowing, she wasn't sure what to do at this point but say the truth. "How did you know?"
Scoffing, he shook his head and looked to the side. "I wasn't sure until just now." It was a tricky game, but for him to come back to a more sympathetic, understanding miko than a irrational, immature jealous one in a few hours, raised quite a bit suspicions. "How did you find out?"
'Satomi…" She wasn't able to finish her words.
"She wouldn't tell you. So, don't make excuses." He spoke, feeling the tone of his voice changing to a bit more irritated one. His once cool, stoic manner was fading quickly.
"I'm not lying! Or making excuses! Gosh, after everything you are still a jerk!" She yelled out, walking away from him to further herself away from the prince. Storming down the bridge, she didn't bother to look back until she was forced to. Again, he grabbed her wrist and twirled her around to face him. "Let me go!"
"Not until you answer me." He looked down at her.
"She called my cell phone, but it was an accident. I think she sat on it and it dialed my number! It was all on my message machine, and I heard every single word! Now let me go!" She tried to twisted her hand out from his death grip.
"Why didn't you just delete it knowing it was a private conversation?" He was being irrational about this, but the last thing he wanted was for her to know about his past. He didn't want her to be caught up in all this mess! He knew one thing for sure, and that was he was falling for her - and hard. But he didn't want to start anything until his past and mother were dealt with.
It was bad enough Satomi was in the crossfire, he wouldn't put another woman he loved in this mess either.
"I couldn't! I tried, but I couldn't! When I heard everything, I cried! I cried for you!" She shouted out, tears pouring from her eyes once more. 'Please, stop crying! Don't cry! Not right now!' She pleaded with herself, but it was to no avail. She was sobbing and continued talking. "I cried for you, because I love you Sesshomaru. I hate that you have to suffer such a terrible life, and for once I want to help someone other than myself. I want to help you, because I love you!"
Love…
He blinked and finally released her wrist as she continued to rant off in his face. The only other person who cried for him, and who helped him was Satomi. He never thought another woman would do the same. He always figured he would be too damaged for any real relationship, simply because he was used by his mother.
But that's not what was happening right now. Kagome proved that much while she kept crying in front of him, stating the truth about her feelings.
'Kiss her!' His beast demanded. 'Calm her before she hurts herself! Calm our mate!'
And for once, he didn't argue with his beast. As Kagome continued to rant, she was caught off guard when he grabbed her and pulled her to him, crashing his lips against hers. It was for a short moment before she pulled back and tried to slap him. "You jerk! Don't shut me up with a…"
Catching her hand mid-air, he wrapped her hands behind her back, and pressed her against the railing. Kissing her once more, he deepened the kiss with more intensity and passion than he ever felt in his life. It wasn't long before she tried to gasp for air, that her small mouth opened enough for his tongue to slip through and taste her divinity.
Slowly releasing her arms the second he felt her calming down, he than wrapped his arms around her body and eventually sinking one of his hands into her semi-damp hair.
She wanted to fight. She wanted to finish her rant, but it wouldn't be worth it now. Her mind was no longer hers as she felt his lips pressed against hers. His body pressed against hers. Everything was making her incredibly hot, that she began to feel an unfamiliar tingle pooling down between her legs. Moaning against his lips, she felt drunk from the intensity he was delivering her.
Clutching onto his shoulders for dear life, she didn't want this to end. She wanted this to continued on and on. Finally pulling back, she looked up to him with the most blushed expression ever. "I said don't shut me up…" She whispered out, lifting up to kiss him once more, nipping his bottom lip.
"What are you doing to me?" He asked in a husky voice.
"I should be asking you that question." She smirked.
Leaning back down, he kissed her once more before lifting only a few inches away. "What now?" She whispered against his lips.
"Oh god! Not the picture I wanted to see at all!" Cried out a masculine voice. Turning over to look who was talking, Kagome instantly blushed and buried her face into Sess's chest. "I mean, if you two are going to kiss like that - do it more privately will you? Come on sis! I don't want to see any of that nastiness!" Souta finished out, covering his eyes and trying to walk while Shippo and Kohaku busted out laughing.
As the younger kids went into their bungalow, Sess finally looked down at the miko hiding against him. "Not what I had planned at all."
"I don't think you had anything planned." She muffled against his shirt, inhaling his sandalwood, spice scent.
"Care to walk back?" He asked, feeling a bit awkward now that they were interrupted.
"Sure. But first…" She looked up, reaching to touch his face with her hands. "I want to help you forget, Sess. Let me help you forget."
Licking his bottom lip, he looked around for a moment before returning back to her. "Do you really need my permission? Just touching me like this is making me forget some of the bad."
Smiling, she lifted up to kiss him softly and wrapped her hands around him. "Good." She whispered into his ear. "I want to be the only one to save you. Is it ok if I be selfish with you?" She let out a small laugh.
"We'll see."
Tokyo, Japan
"Are you sure they are all asleep?"
"Yes."
"I know I'm not suppose to, but I don't think I have much time left."
"Do you think it's even worth it?"
"No. But I just want him to know, that I am sorry for being his mother." Kirai whispered in her croaky voice.
"Here is your phone, Kirai-sama." Her handmaiden whispered, tossing the cell phone into the slot to be passed to Kirai in her glass room.
Reaching into the box, she grabbed her cell phone and dialed her son's number. After several rings, hope began to die down as she felt her heart breaking completely. She was at fault, and this she knew. She would never be able to state her apology to Naraku.
Tears falling, she decided to hang up her cell phone until the faint noise of someone picking up caught her attention. Silence answered her, but the faint breathing on the other side let her know he was listening.
"Naraku…" She breathed out his name, happily. "I don't have much longer. But I wanted my last words to be with you." She let out a couple coughs. "I'm sorry for being your mother. I'm sorry for letting you down. I regret not being my best with you, and for that I regret letting you have me for a mom. You deserve so much better, and before I leave I want you to know that no matter what, you did make me proud."
"I love you my son. I know it won't mean much now, but I do love you. I'm sorry for all the bad I did to you. I don't ask for your forgiveness, because I don't deserve it." She paused yet again to let out a few more coughs from her scratchy, dry throat. Licking her lips, she sniffled and finished her speech. "Live with love, my son. The way Akira showed you to love. Good-bye, my Naraku."
Wanting to hear him speak back, she was granted with only a hang up. Biting her lower lip, she cried softly to herself as she sat in her chair. 'Live in peace, my Naraku. God, take me now.' Placing her cell phone on her side desk, she leaned back in her chair and covered herself up with her quilted blanket.
Tears cascading down her cheeks, she shut her eyes and prayed for death. Without her, Naraku will be free from torment.
This will be her gift, to them all.
Meanwhile, sitting in absolute silence. Naraku had just finished listening to his father warn him about the deal Sado had made with Sango's father. Rage was already building up inside, that he might end up losing his one true love. The last thing he needed was to listen to anything his bitch of a mother had to say.
With Sango asleep beside him, he finally answered the nagging bitch's call but refused to speak. He would not give her that satisfaction.
But as she spoke, he heard how broken she was. As she confessed and spoke her last words of apology - he felt speechless. This was his only mother he had left. The one who gave birth to him. Part of him wanted to speak out, but the other part remained paralyzed. He held onto hope that his mother would come around, but fate would have it - she'd come around when she was dying.
He wanted to laugh at the irony, but he couldn't find it in him to put the phone down and ignore the rest of her words. It wasn't until she said good-bye that he finally hung up so that he could finally move. Leaving his bedroom, he made sure to not wake no one around him. Reaching outside, he leaned over the railing and finally fell to the floor.
All he wanted was his real mother's love. That acceptance he always craved from her. To know that he was truly loved by the one who created him.
He prayed for the day when she would come to him like this, but it wasn't suppose to be this way!
Shutting his eyes tightly, feeling the rage building up from the irony of all of this - he whispered out his own good-bye to his dying mother.
At least she will be at peace.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it. Secrets will start to be revealed, and we find out more on Kagome's heritage also.
Next chapter: It will be a past chapter. With all the parental figures as the main focus of next chapter - and the reasons why Miyo and Kirai killed Izaiyo, Ryuu and Akira. Stay tuned!
