Chapter 26: The Bitter Priestess, Kikyo
A/N: I brought Kikyo into the story because I had to have someone to be the evil person of the story. That and I hate Inuyasha and Kikyo together because he belongs with Kagome!
Kagome lay still in bed next to her mate. She could hear his soft rhythmic breathing and knew that he was asleep. However she was restless and that did not stop her from softly calling out his name. “Inuyasha?” He did not stir and so she turned onto her left side to look at him. His handsome bronzed face was etched into a gorgeous smile instead of the usual scowl that he wore during the day when he had a disagreement with his brother or father about family affairs. Kagome smiled softly to herself as she gazed at her mate. He was the most beautiful man in the world to her and it mattered not that he was only a half demon. She called out his name again just a little louder than she had the first time. “Inuyasha?” Still he did not respond to her voice calling his name. Kagome frowned a little then leaned up so that her lips were just barely caressing his right ear. She whispered huskily against Inuaysha’s ear. “Inuyasha?” This time her mate jerked awake and glanced over at her immediately.
“Kagome?”
“Inuyasha, are you awake?”
“I am now. What is it?”
“I can’t sleep.” He groaned and shifted onto his right side to look at her. She chewed her bottom lip as he looked at her with a hint of annoyance in his sleepy amber .
