A/N: this isn�t the chapter with the
lemon, but it�s coming up! This chapter is just about Kaji-chan�s moon goddess
and an explanation of Kaji-chan�s family�s traditional way of catching a man�

Chapter Twenty-Four

Traditional Seduction
�She what?!�
The figure asked, sitting forward on her marble throne of white.
�That is what I was told, Milady. She has given her bracelet away and is fading as we speak.�
�But why?!
Does she not want to live long enough for the curse to break?! If she gets angry enough, she could break it
now! Does my Chan-chan not want to live
at all?�
�Please, please, Lady Lunia, do not get upset...�
�Don�t tell me how to feel! How do you think I�m going to act when someone tells
me Usu-Maru�s daughter is dying? He put
me in charge of her! Me! The Goddess of the Moon, me!�
�I know, Lady Lunia, and if the Lady would only link with a
wind entity, all of this would be solved.�
�What of that wolf demon, what�s his name already, uh,
Kouryuu?� Lunia asked.
�Uh, Kouga, Lady Lunia.�
�Ah! Yes, well, what
of him? Is he not considered a wind
entity? After all, Chan-chan did
teach him that spell. He�s quite good
at it, I must say.�
�Well, I suppose he could be considered as such,
Lady. The problem is...�
�Problem? There�s a
problem now?� Lunia asked, rising from
her throne.
�No, no, Lady! It�s
a, a predicament. Just a small thing,
really. After all, you did only
choose the Lady as your heiress.�
�Oh, well that can be fixed.
I don�t think Chan-chan would make a very good Moon Goddess just
yet. She�s very emotional right now.�
�Lady, she�s always emotional.�
�I know that!� Lunia exclaimed, �That�s how I
made her!�
�Pardon, Lady?� The
messenger asked.
�Oh yes, Akira, I had a hand in the creation of Usu-Maru�s
daughter. Why think you her hair is
white, eh? That was my
doing. I am the very one who enabled
the Lady Melody to have children.
Of course, I did not plan on twins, but they say that two are better
than one.�
�Uh, Lunia-sama, one is plenty.�
�Well yes of course, one of Chan-chan is enough. Kibus sus such a nice boy, though. A shame he had to die.�
�You could have saved him.�
The messenger offered.
�Ah well, it�s too late for that. Best not to bring that to Chan-chan�s attention. Anyhow, back to...�
�Lunia-sama?�
�Yes?�
�How did the Lady get her name?�
Lunia sighed, �Chan-chan is named after our verb meaning �to
exist�, which would be the word, �venitaran�.
Within the verb �venitaran�, is the word �venita�, which means
�death�. In the word �venita� is the
word �venia�, which means �life�. So
you see, if there were no life, there d bed be no death, and if there were no
death, there would be no existence. Or
something of the sort.�
�So then why did you name the Lady after our word for
�death�?�
�Akira,� Lunia began, a smirk on her face, �I named her as
such because I wanted to experiment and find out which path she would choose.�
�What do you mean, Lady?�
�Since the word for life is within her name, I wished to see
which she would choose. Life or
death. It appears she has chosen death
as her name.� Lunia said softly.
�There�s still time for her though, isn�t there, Lady
Lunia? She could still choose the path
of life, could she not?�
�Technically, she could; however, since she killed any any
people, became an assassin, and so on, she feels that she has led a life of
death, and should therefore be called as such.
There�s almost no turning around for her now, even though she
could. All she has to do is live.�
�She is dying, Lady Lunia, how can she live?�
�By seducing a wind entity.�
Lunia said, as though it were the simplest thing in the world.
�You�re saying that if she manages to bed a wind entity, she
will live?�
�No, I am saying that if she beds a wind entity and mates
with him, then she will live.
However, she must seduce hhe phe proper way.�
�There is a specific way to do it?� Akira asked, raising an eyebrow at the woman he had served for
several centuries.
�Yes. All of the
women of the Usu Family have seduced their men only one way, yet none of
them has ever told their daughters how.
Though not of the Usu Family, Melody got Usu-Maru to fall in love with
her the same way all Usu women seduced their men. If Venita-chan can gather enough strength to do it, and do it
right, she will have her life back.�
�Lady Lunia, I have been in your service for about seven
centuries, would you mind telling me just what it is the Usu women do to seduce
their men?�
Lunia�s eyes sparkled with mischief, �Have you ever heard
talk of �the Dance�, Akira?�
Akira�s eyes widened, �But that�s a slaughter!�
Shrugging, Lunia continued, �To you, perhaps, but the Dance
is the way all Usu women have �trapped� their men. The name of this dance used to be the Bitches� Dance, where all
female wolf demons would dance and try to �snag� a mate; however the Usu Family
is the only family to continue using it for its� original purpose.
First, the Usu women would lure their chosen man to a beach,
either lake or ocean it matters not, and then would begin their dance. The Dance itself is more like a battle, for
the female will attack the male for apparently no reason at all. This brings the male into the Dance, and
soon they are both battling for dominance. The humorous part is that the male thinks there is a possibility
of a victor, when really it�s this: both of them win, and both of them
lose. The Dance simply cannot be won.�
�So it really is a slaughter, though?�
�I suppose you could call it that. This way, though, both of them are
bleeding. Wolves mate for life, so
unless a violation has occurred, all wolf demon women are virgins at the time
of their dance. Venita-chan is no
exception. She has practiced the Dance
in pieces so as not to be performing the whole thing.�
�So you said she must go to a beach?�
�During the full moon.
That is best. For her anyway.�
�Pardon, Lady?�
�Every full moon Venita-chan goes in heat. The Dance shall be even more graceful if she
can just hold on for a few more days.�
�Could you not just bring the full moon a little closer?�
�Akira, I may be a meddler, but I wouldn�t wish to upset the
schedule of the moon just for my future replacement,� Lunia said, looking at
Akira and then looking in front of her, �how many days until the full moon
again?�
�Six, Lady Lunia.�
�Hm, Venita-chan only has that many left. I cannot have her dancing while on Death�s
doorstep. Move the full moon up three
days. She will go into heat regardless
of the day. Whenever the moon is full,
she goes into heat. Plain and simple.�
�She�ll kill you if she finds out.�
Lunia smirked, �If she does that, Akira, she�ll be Moon
Goddess before she ever wanted to be, and believe you me: she never
wants to become Moon Goddess.�
�Why not? It is an
honor.�
�Exactly. She feels
that after all she has done, she does not deserve to have a place of such
honor.�
�I see, Lady,� Akira said, nodding, �how long until her curse
wears off?�
�If we�re lucky, we�ll be seeing Venita-chan any day
now.� Lunia said, a sort of cynical
smile tugging at her lips, her blue eyes sparkling.
�Will Kouga be safe when the curse wears off, Lunia-sama?�
The smile grew, �Akira, what happens when you show
Venita-chan a piece of iron?�
�It�s like putting a raging bull in a China shop, Lady.�
�Exactly. No one is
safe when she regains her power. Even
if her mother was what she was, it did not stop Venita from becoming a full
demon.�
�Why, Lunia-sama?
What was her mother?�
Lunia looked at Akira, �You can�t tell me you don�t know.�
�No, Lady.�
The smile turning into a cynical smirk, Lunia spoke,
�Venita-chan�s mother was a human, making Venita-chan herself a hanyou. Usu-Maru, the great dog demon, has a hanyou
wolf demon for a daughter. But, she, at
least, earned the right to have demon blood. Goodnenowsnows her father didn�t.�
