Chapter 25 - Bowing to Instinct

The taiyoukai couldn't help but wonder why taking such a risk was so much easier for the hanyou than it was for him. Was it because he knew her better? How was he so certain she wouldn't be bothered by his actions? But he had been just as afraid of telling her about their desire for her blood. After a moment, he decided that those thoughts would hold until later, because he wanted to focus completely on the taste of their combined pleasure on his tongue. His current task was far more important than his questions.

"Once she is marked, her body will heal faster."
"It will?" The hanyou didn't know very much about mating, being as he spent most of his life alone with no one to teach him or explain things, so this was news to him.
"It will," the taiyoukai confirmed. "She will be much less likely to fall ill. She will grow stronger, with greater stamina. That is not the best part, however, little brother."
Now Inuyasha was really interested. What could be better than her healing faster, being stronger, and not getting sick?
"She will never leave us."

She had always known he cared about her, but she also knew how he felt about emotions, seeing them as a weakness, and she never expected to hear him actually say the words, to confess something he believed made him weak.
Sesshoumaru crawled over her body and pressed his lips to hers, even the thought of losing her sending a jolt of pain through him. "There is another reason why demons are capable of strengthening their human mates," he whispered. He was about to touch on a topic he had never discussed with her before, and the taiyoukai honestly didn't know how she might react. "Because the human body is simply not strong enough to carry a demon child."
"A child?" she asked softly, wide-eyed.
"Unless you have something against carrying our pups."
"You... You'd want them? With me?"
He relaxed a great deal and after shooting Inuyasha a smirk, he replied. "There is nothing I desire more than to see your belly swell to accommodate our pups, to have you give me heirs."
"But they'll be..."
"They will be a physical representation of the bond we share. They will be beautiful with you as their mother and brilliant, as well. They will be strong. The combination of your reiki and my youki will make them immensely powerful. No one will be able to best them."
"And their mixed blood?"
"Means nothing. Inuyasha has long ago proven himself and his worth. Even his pups will be unmatched in strength."
Kagome couldn't help but smile at his words, and the look on the hanyou's face only made her happier. His older brother accepted him, approved of him, and she knew that it meant the world to him, even though he would never admit it. "It'll be complicated, two daddies and all. It'll be hard work."
"If I feared hard work, I would never have done any of this, from pursuing you to accepting the situation presented to me while trying to revive you. You are more than worth it."
