Pearl watched as demon Inuyasha went after anything that moved. The servants were all huddled into a corner and the Inu guards were defending themselves against him as best they could. All seemed lost until Louna came forward and said one word.

“Sochi (son).”

At that moment Inuyasha turned to go attack when a pulsing was felt and his body went limp. He fell to the ground as though the enchanted beads were on him and screamed in agony as his demon powers returned to their former state making Inuyasha once again a hanyou.

Inuyasha breathed heavily and looked at the ground.

“Is everyone alright?”

Inuyasha asked.

“No you stupid idiot! You killed your brother! Right after he told you he loved you!”

Pearl screamed sobbing in agony. Sesshoumaru had opened his heart to her and to his brother for the first time and now he was dead.

Inuyasha held his head and screamed out his pain.

“NO!!!!!!!!!!!”

Inuyasha looked around him. Shippo was badly wounded, but alive and shaking looking at Inuyasha with wide eyes.

Kouga was dead as was his son. The ground was littered with both wolf and Inu bodies. Some he had killed in his demon form as the servants looked at him wondering if he was going to attack.

Inuyasha got up and went to his elder brother’s body touching that snout lovingly until Sesshoumaru’s body changed and he was back in his humanoid form lying dead on the ground as the rain started coming down.

Everyone watched as Inuyasha cradled his brother’s head in his lap and caressed that long hair.

“I loved you too you bastard. I have always loved you.”

Inuyasha sobbed.

Suddenly tensaiga pulsed and Inuyasha looked at the sword. Would it let him use it?

Inuyasha grasped the sword and saw these little imp like beings all over the place. They were on Sesshoumaru, Kouga, Kip, and the Inu demons that fell that day.

Anger filled Inuyasha that these things were touching his brother trying to put chains on him as if to weigh his soul down. Inuyasha sliced through them with the sword and they disappeared then a wave of power flowed from the sword and all the imps screamed as the power of tensaiga cut through them all. Then everything was quiet.

Slowly fingers started twitching and bodies were miraculously healed. Wolf demons and Inu demons got up from the ground looking around trying to figure out why they were alive. However Sesshoumaru had yet to move.

Kouga got up and looked at Inuyasha who was still covered in his son’s blood.

“Kip!”

Kouga called out.

“Over here Father.”

Kip yelled as he got up off the ground dusting himself off. He was for the most part fine. He didn’t know how or why he was fine, but he was.

All the revived wolves and Inu’s bowed low to Inuyasha except for Kip and Kouga who were just looking at him in awe. Inuyasha was glowing in the sunlight and it was as though he split from his body which was lying on the ground next to Sesshoumaru.

Pearl entered her body and sat up grasping at Sesshoumaru who was healed, but still not breathing.

“Sesshoumaru wake up!”

Pearl said as she shook him.

Inuyasha bent down next to Pearl.

“I don’t know why he is not breathing yet. I just know he should be alive by now.”

He said as he looked at his brother wondering what was going on.

Suddenly Sesshoumaru sat up taking in a huge breath of air as though his lungs had collapsed.

“Oh my god! You are alive! Oh thank you heavens!”

Pearl cried as she wrapped her arms around Sesshoumaru who looked shocked to see his little brother standing there in his fire rat robes as solid as could be.

“I thought you died.”

Sesshoumaru said looking at his little brother who shrugged.

“I guess I didn’t fully die. I don’t get it, but you can kill me again if you want to. Heaven knows I don’t want to die an old man.”

Inuyasha said with a grin.

“I have a funny feeling about this.”

Pearl said as she looked up at Inuyasha.

“Ya me too. I guess we shall see what happens on our human night.”

Inuyasha said with a yawn.

Inuyasha helped Sesshoumaru up from the ground and Sesshoumaru looked at the wolves growling.

“Do you still want to wage war with the Inus wolf?”

Sesshoumaru said to Kouga with Inuyasha standing next to his brother to show his support of him.

“Ya I could kick your ass Kouga if ya really want to start shit again.”

Inuyasha said cracking his neck.

“Father let’s just go home.”

Kip said to Kouga who nodded. He wasn’t in the mood to fight with the Inus especially with such a powerful weapon that brought back the dead.

Before they left though they needed their men brought back who were killed earlier in the battle with the Inu guards.

“Hey, do you think you could bring that thing to my den? We want our men back and I am sure you want yours returned to you as well Lord Sesshoumaru.”

Kouga said with a smile.

“I cannot promise tensaiga will revive them, but I will come to remove my army.”

Sesshoumaru handed Inuyasha Tessaiga.

“I believe this is yours little brother.”

Sesshoumaru said wondering if Inuyasha heard him in his demon state. Either way he would not repeat such sentiment again.

As the wolf and fox demons got ready to depart Sesshoumaru turned into his truest form and laid down.

“Get on.”

Sesshoumaru said to Inuyasha and Pearl.

Inuyasha did not have to be asked twice, but Pearl looked at the Lady who was still wounded.

“I am going to stay behind and care for your Mother.”

Pearl said and Sesshoumaru nodded before he took off at full speed towards the wolves’ den with Kouga and Kip this time trying to keep up with the giant white dog.

Ginta and Hakkaku groaned as they changed forms and raced behind the pack.

Shippo got up and limped towards Pearl.

“I am sorry Pearl for causing all this……..”

Shippo started to say.

“Nonsense. You were just trying to help me. Now let us tend to these wounds Shippo.”

Pearl said with a smile as she led Shippo inside introducing him as Inuyasha’s adopted son to Louna who was pleased to meet him.

The Lady tried to act like her wounds were not bothering her, but Pearl knew better. Kip had injured her foot and her arm pretty badly which pissed Pearl off. She wanted to punch that wolf in the face for attacking a Lady, but Louna told her to calm down. It would heal in a day. Still Pearl bandaged the wounds up after cleaning them good.

Shippo insisted on going back to his village, but Pearl said he had to stay at least until his wounds healed and he had time to talk with his Father. There were still a lot of hard feelings between them concerning the way Inuyasha chose to die.

Pearl at that moment felt at home with her little family. She knew she cared deeply for Sesshoumaru, but love was a strong emotion she was not certain she was ready to face yet. She still did not know Sesshoumaru well enough to love him in the way she knew he wanted her to, but her heart was definitely open to the possibilities of the future.
