~~~~{ ooo }~~~~~The smell of chlorine filled her nostrils yet again as she entered the swimming room. Dropping her towel to the floor, she did a small stretch, warm-up, then finally reached the edge of the pool. It had been a couple weeks since winter break and the same amount of time since she last saw the gang.With the new dorms installed, Kagome found out who she will be rooming up with. Sango and Kagura would be her roommates, but sadly Satomi wouldn’t be joining them. She wasn’t sure why it bothered her so much, but it did. From what she gathered, Satomi tried to make it possible for both her and Kagome to be together as much as possible in school, especially with the dorm room situation. Figuring that they probably weren’t able to, Kagome decided to not dwell so much on the subject in hand.
Done with her stretch workout, she looked over to the clock and sighed, seeing that it was barely four in the morning. She woke up very early, mostly because in a way she missed being in the water. She missed the chlorine scent that found its way to becoming her own natural scent. She loved it.
The water was her life.
It gave her life.
Taking in a deep breath, she took a dive into the pool and began her morning laps. Her mind began to think about those she cared about most. Since that day in visiting Sesshomaru’s large mansion, she hadn’t seen any of them since then. She has seen Sango, but that was about it. Everyone else had gone silent.
Of course, she couldn’t get mad about that either way. She never took the opportunity to text or call them. She was actually preoccupied with catching up on her training for the shrine and also practicing to bring out her powers and control them. Her mother, as skilled as she is, still wasn’t able to get Kagome to do the one simple thing every Miko learned to do since their powers came alive: Sense auras.
It wasn’t that she wasn’t practicing. She really was, actually. Every day she would try to read auras of people, trees, animals, even objects. But all she ever got was the white fading light around people. And it was always faint and never lasted for longer than two seconds.
Pushing towards the other side of the pool, Kagome tried to keep focus on the matter at hand: not to drown. But it was all in vain, yet again when she began to think about Sesshomaru and his situation. Was he alright? Did his mother retaliate? Did they all join forces against her? It worried her a lot.
But with everything going on in her life, she still found herself too busy to even give anyone a call. Especially when there was a mysterious man back home that her mother refused to tell her about. She didn’t feel threatened by the yokai, even found it interesting how her grandfather didn’t try to exercise him either. But the black haired male was mysterious. And he looked so familiar, it actually bothered Kagome.
Suddenly, she felt the water slide into her nostrils and the burning sensation of the chlorine and water stung her nose bringing her back to reality. Coughing, she blew her nose and shook her head. It was getting ridiculous on not focusing on one thing; to practice her laps and not drown. Why was her mind so preoccupied with everything?
If anything, she shouldn’t worry too much if none of her friends made any attempt to call her. Wanting to feel angry, but mostly because she lost focus and had water go down her nose, she stopped her childish antics and realized their lives were probably more troublesome than hers. While all she had to worry about was shrine duties and learning her Miko abilities, her friends actually had real drama to deal with.
A drama that Kagome was sure only happened in television shows. But that wasn’t the case. Her cousin is pregnant, and if Daisuke finds out, she could very well say good-bye to the little one in the belly. Sesshomaru’s family is, well, a whole other crisis just on its own. The whole ordeal with Miyo and her abusive nature, and Inuyasha not being able to come out causing problems in his and Jak’s relationship.
And then there were Sango and Naraku.
Every single one of them in their own troubles. She felt for them. Why couldn’t they just have happy lives, like her and Souta? How could parents be so mean and deny their child freedom of choice? It made no sense to her, and it broke her heart.
Tears cascading down, Kagome ignored her thoughts one last time and began to swim again. She needed to practice her laps. She had been lacking the entire winter break. If she wanted to keep her scholarship and get into the Olympics, she needed to push herself to become the best. She will just have to worry about her friends later when she isn’t practicing.
Pushing herself, she continued to swim each lap with fierce determination. With a motivation she never knew she had.
All of it was from the anger she felt for her friends. The sorrow she held for each of them. The pain of not being able to help none of them. It made her ache and feel terrible for not being the true friend they all deserved. Pushing harder, she found herself feeling her muscles burn with each stroke, she made; each thrust she landed; each breath she took. Everything burned and eventually all thoughts faded as she focused on her laps.
The emotions still there, but the path now in focus in front of her.
She needed to become stronger. Faster. Patient.
The water splashing around her, her movements quick and fierce. Everything around her was still, including time, and all that moved was her. Feeling her body burning and growing heavier from the workout, exhaustion kicking in, she ignored it all and focused on the road before her.
Life will always be hard. It will always drag you down. Times will seem impossible to continue further, to drag yourself beyond the limits.
Tears falling and blending in with the water, Kagome knew that this workout was no longer practice session. This was the meaning of life. This was her finding the way to grab hold of what truly needed to be held. She needed to be strong for her friends. She needed to find a way to help them all move forward.
Even though she had met them a couple months ago, they were her friends. Her family. Without them, she knew deep down inside, she will never be the same. And it was in that moment she knew she had to fight for them.
They had to fight for each other. To show each other that they can breath in a world so dark and cold. In a world that seems to limit their true potential. They had to see that someone is willing to show them a life worth living for. That no one, not their parents or tradition, will break their soul.
Pushing harder towards the edge, towards the end of her practice, she had to keep swimming to make it to the end. To the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
Panting heavily, she finally reached the ledge and slapped her hand onto the surface. Tears falling down her cheeks, she panted hard and went underwater. Shutting her eyes tightly, she held her breath and stayed for a couple minutes.
This was it. This was the new beginning she needed to make.
Her friends needed her, just as much as she needed them. Pulling herself up from the water’s surface, she inhaled deeply and opened her eyes. A new path will be walked - by all of them.
~~~~~{ ooo }~~~~~
His phone continued to vibrate under his ribs where it had fallen. Groaning awake, Bankotsu reached for his cell phone and immediately looked at the screen. Squinting at the bright light, he decided to answer it without checking who it may be and rudely answered. “What?”“Um.. Bankotsu?” A soft feminine voice answered.
Raising a brow, Bank sat up in the bed and cleared his throat to a more gentle tone. “Whose this?” He asked more nicer this time.
“It’s Kagome.” The nervous Miko replied. “Is my cousin with you?”
“Oh hey Kagome. Sorry for snapping at you, just not a morning person.” Bank smiled, then looked over beside him where Satomi was dead asleep. Sighing, he replied back. “She is passed out right now. Is it urgent?”
“No.” Kagome responded quickly. “Not important, I was just worried about you guys. Mostly about her and the baby. How is everything going? Are you guys coming to school today?” She began to ramble on with the questions.
Chuckling, Bank cleared his throat and quickly answered. “Baby is fine. We are alright, mostly. And no, Satomi actually place in her resignation last week and I am taking a sick day today. We are getting married tomorrow, didn’t you get the invitation? It will be held at my place, and will be a very private wedding.”
“Oh my god! Congrats!” Kagome smiled brightly. “But to answer you, no I didn’t receive the letter.” She stated sadly. “I’ll have Sango take me to your place, since both me and her are roomies now. Was my uncle really alright with Satomi being pregnant?”
“No. He grew furious at the news and wanted her to abort it immediately. She stood her ground and said she would never take a life of a child. They argued for a good few hours before he said there must be an immediate marriage so the child wouldn’t be born out of wedlock. Hence the very soon wedding date.” Bank informed with a nervous chuckle.
Nodding in understanding, Kagome sighed. “Well, at least she is keeping the baby. That is great news. I was very worried.”
“Don’t be. If he wanted her to still abort it, we would have run away.” Bank chuckled. “After we killed him.” He joked.
“Are you serious?” Kagome asked, feeling extremely gullible.
“No Kagome.” Bank laughed hard. “That would be terrible.”
“Oh!” Kagome laughed along. “Alright.”
“Oh, if you can, maybe come by Satomi’s place after school. She’s been wanting to talk to you for a while now, but she’s been busy with her own school work since she is being taught at home now. But if you come over later today, that would really make her day. Sound alright?” Bank asked.
“Sure. I’ll come along with Sango, if that’s alright since she is the only one with a vehicle.” Kagome answered.
“Cool.”
“Hey Bank-”
“Yeah?”
“Have you heard from Sesshomaru?” Kagome asked softly, feeling her heart ache at the mention of the prince. She needed to know if he was alright, even if it the news she got was him being alright this entire time. They owed each other nothing, even if they did kiss, but it would still be nice to hear from him. To hear anything about him.
Clearing his throat, Bank licked his dry lips and replied back. “From what I gathered from Naraku, Sesshomaru is on lock down. Inuyasha and Rin haven't been seen either from what I hear. Satomi knows about it, but with her pregnant, she can’t do anything.” He sighed.
“Why hasn’t anyone told me?” Kagome asked, feeling anger rising inside her.
“Because Sesshomaru told everyone not to.” Bank sighed regretfully. “We don’t know why, but Sesshomaru wanted us to make sure you never go to his place or try to get in contact with him.”
Her heart breaking, Kagome found herself feeling empty and hollow inside. How could he be like that after everything they went through during winter break? How could he act like this after they shared such an intimate moment together? It made her heart and gut clench from all the emotions. “Why?” She whispered, feeling tears forming in her eyes.
“Naraku believes it’s because of Miyo. And if that bitch is involved, it’s better that you listen to Sesshomaru, Kagome. Miyo is someone you never want to test.” Bank replied back, lacing his words with fear and worry for his friends trapped in the Taisho household.
Tears falling, Kagome nodded and replied back in a broken voice. “Alright. I got to go, tell my cousin, I’ll see her later.” Without a warning, she quickly hung up on Bank.
Looking at his cell phone that he immediately realized was Satomi’s, he sighed and knew what Kagome was feeling. Everyone had worried about Sesshomaru, Inuyasha and Rin since that day they all left the Taisho house. They knew the second when Take Taisho had to leave for a business trip in Europe and other places, none of them would be safe from Miyo’s wrath.
Resting his face against his palm, he turned the screen off of Satomi’s cell phone and felt his gut wrench at the thought of what his friends could possibly be going through. There was nothing anyone could do.
Besides Sesshomaru and Take, Miyo was stronger than the rest of the gang. And if Sesshomaru was being held prisoner, the bitch did something to make it so.
What were they going to do?
~~~~~{ ooo }~~~~~
“I still find it weird.”“What, Tatsu-kun?” Hana smiled while both of them walked the long steps leading to a path filled with cherry blossom trees and tombstones.
“That Souta-kun looks very much like Ryuu-san.” Tatsu chuckled. “The kid is almost a spitting image, but none of them hold Ryuu’s personality. They both have his smile, and Kagome’s had that kind heart of his. But none of them have that ridiculously trust-every-living-thing part. It’s actually a great thing actually.” Tatsu chuckled. “I mean, the guy trusted Miyo and Kirai for crying out loud. Well, he trusted them more than all of us did.”
“I think he was actually kinder to them than we were. I wouldn’t say trust. He wouldn’t step in a room alone with those two, Tatsu-kun.” Hana chuckled softly as they finally made their way to the final step that led to Ryuu Hayashi-Higurashi.
As they walked towards the tombstone, they both stood silently still before preparing the a few flowers and some food and drinks before him. Setting everything up for the occasional visit, they finally placed down the last set of chopsticks and tea cup before lighting an essence stick and stepping back to give the prayer.
Silence sat between them, and the only sound heard was the bird chirping in the air. After Hana and Daisuke set the funeral, they decide it was best to have Ryuu cremated and a tombstone placed with his ashes in the family burial. Daisuke, even though he and Ryuu stopped talking since Ryuu was disowned by their father, couldn’t bare the fact that his big brother would never be with his family again.
And with Hana’s permission, they both agreed to have the sole heir to Yoshikiyo and Kanna Hayashi buried with them beside them. No parent should ever be far apart from their child, no matter what history they held.
“I miss him.” Tatsu finally spoke up, bringing Hana out of her own thoughts.
Smiling sadly, she nodded. “So do I.”
“He would tell me to fight for her.” He chuckled while twisting a leaf in his hand. “To fight for my little girl. I remember he even smacked me upside the head when I told him I had to leave Tokyo. He wanted me to fight for her, to let that little girl know she has a loving father. But I failed.” He felt his voice breaking.
Placing her hand on his shoulder, Hana brought him into a side hug. “You didn’t fail him. You didn’t fail her either. You came back, even if it took this long. You still came back to see your little girl. And that isn’t failing, Tatsu-kun.”
Hugging his dear old friend, he nodded and felt the tears pour. And it was then that he felt another presence beside them. Pulling away, he looked around to see no one was there, but only them two. Swallowing, he looked over to Hana and felt slightly confused but kept his distance as he looked over to the name engraved tombstone and felt the presence again.
It wasn’t until the faint scent of Ryuu hit his nose. The mint clove scent that always drove both Tatsu and Take insane for the richness of it. It was Ryuu’s favorite cologne that he loved so much, because Hana loved it. Tears falling, Tatsu finally realized the only moment he knew he never got the chance at: to saying good-bye finally.
Pressing his fingers against the bridge of his nose, and trying to stop the tears, he felt release at finally mourning his childhood friend. Since the incident with Miyo, he wasn’t allowed to attend the funeral being held for Ryuu. Or Izayoi and Akira. He wasn’t allowed to say good-bye to them, all because of the bitch who threatened to kill Rin if he did.
His heart caving, he finally inhaled sharply as he felt a hand on his chest. His eyes opened and he saw no one there.
“Ryuu-san?” He whispered faintly, feeling everything falling apart inside him.
It was until then that he realized he was alone. Hana had walked away to give him privacy. He would have to thank her later. Feeling his heart clenching, he finally looked at the tombstone and cried. He cried for all he was worth, all while that hand continued to touch his heart.
An apology finally accepted.
~~~~~{ ooo }~~~~~
Ginta. Hakkaku. No longer part of this world.It no longer broke his heart when he thought of them, instead it only fueled his anger. Because of the blood-feud between his family and Naraku’s, he lost two best friends. Childhood memories that will no longer be reminiscence between the three of them. Now, it was only him.
Him, two other guys and Naraku - all sharing the same dorm room. The fates truly hated him more than anyone else. Who else had this type of luck?
Starring at the empty bed with Naraku’s belongings, Kouga found it even more frustrating that he would have to be sharing the same side of the room with the guy. At least he had the top floor, but it still irked him beyond anything else.
“I hate it too.” A voice called out from behind him.
Turning around, Kouga noticed Naraku coming out of the bathroom on the opposite side of the room with only black uniform pants on that were unbuttoned and a towel drying off his hair. As he walked pass Kouga, he wrapped his hair up into the towel revealing a strange scar-like spider image on his back. “What the-” Kouga mouthed, trying to make sense of what he was seeing.
“When I turned eight, I woke up to my back burning. I couldn’t make sense of what was happening, even my father was clueless to it. My mother, before she went back to being a cruel, helped me through the entire incident. But because the burning lasted all night, she wasn’t there until morning where she helped the burning stopped.” Naraku informed, feeling the need to share some light on the scar on his back.
“Why did you get it?” Kouga asked, feeling very interested in the hanyou’s story.
“I’m a hanyou. Because of my yokai abilities, my powers were starting to come to life and this was the damage done since my body wasn’t fully capable of handling such raw powers. My mother actually saved my life that day, she told me that each time I change into my yokai form, the scar will slowly heal and fade away.” Naraku finished off as he reached for the violet dress shirt on his bed.
Scoffing, Kouga shook his head. “I take it she lied to you? The scar is still there.”
“No, baka.” Naraku scoffed back. “I never wanted to change into that form, hence why it still remains. Only twice in my life have I changed to that form, and twice I regretted it.”
“Why?”
“Don’t worry about it.” Naraku stated as he finished putting on a plaid violet and a dark blue vest. Grabbing the dress coat, completely black like the pants with the same plaid design on the cuffs, sidelining, and buttons, he placed it on and turned around to face Kouga. Removing the towel from his head, he finger-combed his black locks and cleared his throat. “If you don’t mind, I’m late for History class.”
Watching him walk pass him again, Kouga turned around and spoke up. “I know of the deal.” He noticed the hanyou tense before him. “I know the deal my father and Taijiya-san made. And I want you to know, I’m done with the game. I’m done with it all. Sango isn’t mine. I’ll deal with my father. You guys are free remember. No use in trying to keep you tied down anymore.”
He didn’t bother to say a word, but instead bowed his head and left the room. Watching the hanyou finally leave, Kouga looked around the dorm room and sighed. Out of everyone in the fucking school, he was rooming with the one guy he never wanted to see again. And the same went for Naraku.
Shaking his head, Kouga grabbed his bag and walked out the room to hit gym class. Walking down the long hallway, he finally made his way towards the gym building until he caught a muffled sound behind one of the doors. Stopping in his steps, he titled his head more to the side to listen carefully. After seconds of silence, he shrugged and continued to walk until he caught a faint woman’s voice begging for help.
Dropping his bag, he looked at the door and knitted his brows together in confusion. An all male dorm shouldn’t have a female inside. Swallowing, he listened carefully until he made sure his ears won’t play a trick on him. Pushing open the door, he froze in place as he noticed a couple guys from his gang - guys he grew up with both Ginta and Hakkaku.
His gut wrenching tightly, he looked between the two guys and then to the girl tied down on the bed with one of the guys between her legs. Rage consuming him, Kouga wasted no time in delivering well-deserved ass kicking to both males leaving them unconscious on the floor. Making note to deal with the pricks later, he finally turned his attention to the girl only to feel his breath escape his lungs and his eyes freeze on the familiar woman before him.
“Help… please..” She mumbled behind the cloth covering her mouth. Her skirt raised very high, above her waist to her panties almost revealing more than needed, Kagura felt disgusted. Her hands tied above her head on the bed, her school uniform in a mess revealing more skin than necessary. Even her hair was ravished horribly.
Swallowing hard, Kouga finally shook himself awake and moved on to help the girl out. Helping her become more presentable, he finally cleared his throat and spoke up. “Are you alright-”
Nodding, she finally felt the tears of fear falling down her cheeks. “This is so embarrassing. I feel so ashamed right now.” She covered her mouth to muffle the sobs.
Grabbing her shoulders, Kouga helped her up so they could leave the room. Pulling her to the side of the hallway, he moved his hands up to her wet cheeks and brought her attention towards him. “It wasn’t your fault. Don’t put the blame on yourself, alright? Those guys were jerks.” He tried to convince her.
Trying to push him away, she found herself pulling herself into his embrace. Resting her head against his chest, she cried her heart out as she tried to gather herself. She felt so vulnerable. So embarrassed. So humiliated beyond anything she ever faced in her life. How could she ever come back from this?
“Thank you…” She mumbled, pulling him tightly to herself as she tried to feel more secure in her savior’s arms. “Thank you for saving me, Kouga.”
He froze instantly as his name left her lips. His entire body felt alive and frozen all at the same time. He wasn’t sure what to do at this exact moment, nor what to say. She remembered his name, yet he forgot hers! How much of a jerk could he be? Clearing his throat, he finally got the urge to ask. “No problem…” He paused, waiting for Kagura to reply back with her name.
Looking up, those reddish eyes catching his breath again. She smiled softly, a sad smile that tore him apart. “Abukara.” She used her last name.
“Kikyo?” He asked, hoping he didn’t get the twin names mixed up right now.
Biting her lower lip, she shook her head and hurt was seen in her eyes. Her sister will always hold a sore spot in her heart, especially since Miroku loved her deeply. Feeling her heart clench at that thought, she turned her attention back to Kouga and sighed. “I’m Kagura.” She whispered faintly, not blaming the wolf for forgetting her so easily.
Miroku forgot about her all the time. This will only be normal from now on, she figured.
Cursing himself, he tried to keep from hitting his head with his fist for the stupidity he caused. Quickly trying to recover the moment, he cleared his throat and bowed his head. “I am so sorry. I didn’t mean to offend. I just got your sister’s name mixed up with yours.” He apologized.
“It’s alright. It happens a lot more than you know.” Kagura smiled sadly while looking down. Before Kouga could say anymore, Kagura cleared her throat and patted his chest gently. “Thank you for saving. I should get going though. Bye.”
Walking away quickly, Kouga watched as she headed out the dorm. Trying to call out for her, he found no words, leaving him as he watch Kagura leave.
His heart still beating with an unknown emotion.
~~~~~{ ooo }~~~~~
“Bankotsu.”He tensed at the firm tone being directed at him. Standing before him, Naraku tried his hardest to keep calm. It was pointless.
In the room was Kagome, Satomi, Bankotsu, Sango and Kohaku, along with Naraku who currently was trying his hardest on not killing the blue-eye human before him. Sighing, he brought his crimson gaze up to the male and almost lost his calm streak. “When Sesshomaru said don’t let Kagome know, he meant Do-Not-Let-Kagome-Know!” He emphasized firmly. “And it’s for this exact reason!” He pointed over to the Miko.
“Hey!” She shouted out.
“Shush!” He snapped over at Kagome, earning him a glare from all the women in the room. Not caring, he continued to lecture Bankotsu. “Do you understand why he said that? Because he didn’t want Kagome to go on some vendetta to try and save him with Miyo on the loose! It was purely for her protection!”
“Naraku! Calm down!” Bank winced, trying to escape from the hanyou’s wrath. “I was just trying to let her know since she was worried about the guy.”
“She still has the right to know, Naraku.” Satomi jumped in. “I would be pissed if I didn’t hear about Bankotsu for almost two weeks and you guys knew something. Now it explains why you guys never let me talk to Kagome, because this entire time you all said she was depressed with what was going on with Sesshomaru and them! I should have known better! Sango, give me my sword!” She shouted out behind Naraku.
“You are not fighting in your condition, Sato-chan.” Naraku warned.
“I’m pregnant, asshole. Not ill!” She glared having her wooden practice sword handed to her. “Now I’m going to kick all of your asses for what you did to my cousin! Sango, were you in on this?” She cocked her brow, pointing the tip of her bokken towards the slayer girl.
Shaking her head frantically, she answered quickly. “No. If I knew, I would have told Kagome instantly. This is my first time hearing anything about the Taisho family.”
“Good. Now step away from your man, so I can knock some sense into him.” Satomi growled out.
“Sato-chan…” Kagome sighed, trying to get her cousin’s attention.
“Don’t try to defend them, Kagome. They had it coming.” Satomi snarled over at the spider hanyou.
“But they are right! Telling me was a mistake. Knowing I can’t defend myself against Miyo, I still would have gone over there to try and save them from the evil hag.” Kagome tried to reason with her cousin. “Sesshomaru was right in telling them not to let me know anything. So please don’t hurt them, Sato-chan.”
Pausing with a low growl, Satomi turned on her heel and walked to the opposite side of the room. Naraku and Bankotsu looked over to Kagome and smiled. “Even being stronger than her, she is persistent and that bokken really hurts.” Naraku chuckled, bowing his head in thanks, same as Bankotsu.
“Speak for yourself. I rather be cut by a sword.” Bankotsu stated shyly.
“That can be arranged.” A voice called out from behind them.
Turning their attention over to the unknown voice, they all froze as they noticed Inuyasha, Rin, Sesshomaru and Jakotsu. With a wicked smirk, Jak walked over to his brother and chuckled. “I’m even sure Sato-chan will even let me use her family sword to poke you around with.”
“Sick bastard.” Bank glared.
“Kohaku!” Rin shouted out, running full speed over to her intended. “I’ve missed you so!”
“Me too, Rin.” Kohaku embraced the petite yokai in his arms, inhaling her lovely perfume and feeling at peace for once.
Meanwhile, Kagome looked up to catch Sesshomaru’s amber gaze. Her heart stilled and her breath left her completely. She wanted to run to him, kiss him, and hold him tightly. But she wasn’t sure if he would accept it. Swallowing hard, she wasn’t sure what to do until she felt a nudge against her side.
Blinking, she looked over to see Satomi with a wide grin. “If I was clueless, I would say he has a staring problem.” She chuckled lightly, then leaned in to whisper into her cousin’s ear. “Go to him. I know that look. It’s the same look Bank gets to me.” She winked over at Kagome and pushed her forward.
Her face blushed red, and she found it rather difficult to move along when she also knew the relationship Sesshomaru and Satomi held for each other. Shouldn’t they at least get a hug first? It was conflicting what Kagome was feeling inside, and mostly she was finding an excuse not to go to Sesshomaru. It wasn’t that she wanted him, because the truth was, she needed the male. She just wasn’t sure if he wanted her in return.
Swallowing, she finally walked closer to the ice prince and felt her heart race with each step she took. Within arm's reach, he wasted no time in pulling her to him and crushing his lips against hers. Alive.
She felt alive.
“Oh come on guys! Couldn’t you wait until we left the room?”
Ignoring all those around them, the two were lost in their own world. A world where it felt real again.
A world that only existed for both of them.
~~~~~{ ooo }~~~~~
Alone.A room all to themselves.
They wasted no time in expressing their emotion to one another as Kagome straddle Sesshomaru’s lap and continued to kiss him like he was the air she needed. Panting heavily, the two held each other tightly, exploring each others mouths and feeling the heat rising in the vastly enormous bedroom.
Suddenly, the nervousness of reality settled in, and they both slowed down to take a moment to breath. Swallowing hard, Kagome bit her lower lip and looked at the male in front of her. She wanted to know what happened to him. She needed to know. Clearing her throat, she finally asked. “What happened?”
He winced at the question and looked down quickly. He didn’t want to tell her. As a matter of fact, he just wanted to forget about the entire incident all together. Suddenly, he realized who he was with and for once he wanted to know if she truly had a power to take away the pain he felt. The fear he held. Sighing, he finally replied back in a soft voice. “When all of you left, my mother wanted me to follow her to the study. I knew what would happen, so did Inuyasha and Rin. They wouldn’t allow it, and because we weren’t strong enough and my father wasn’t there to help us, she locked us each away in the mansion.”
Tears filling her eyes, Kagome instinctively placed her hands on his cheeks and placed her forehead against his. Suddenly, the pain began to lift like before. Swallowing, he continued on as he hoped the woman he was falling for would continue to heal him. “Because she is never allowed to harm Inuyasha, she made him suffer by locking him away in the part where Izayoi, his mother, had lived in. The place still smells of Izayoi. Rin and I were locked together, but separated in different rooms. She never went to see Rin, but always came to see me. Rin heard everything.”
“It’s alright, Sesshomaru. Everything is going to be alright.” Kagome whispered, feeling like her words held no meaning. All she felt was rage for the bitch that cause them so much harm. How could a mother be so cruel?
“My baby sister heard everything…” Sesshomaru repeated, living the nightmare over and over.
Tightening her hold on him, she shut her eyes tightly and concentrated to take the nightmare away. But this time she wasn’t able to. She wasn’t able to strip him away from it. Tears falling, she placed a kiss on his lips, and mumbled softly. “Let me in, Sess.”
Tears barely showing in his own eyes, Sesshomaru shut them tightly and pulled Kagome tightly to him. Shaking his head, he refused to let go of that anger. He refused to let go of the hatred. The humiliation. The agony of what he felt. He wanted blood. He wanted vengeance. He wanted his mother dead for what she had done.
Never in all his life had he wanted something more than the bitch’s blood on his hands. His sister was innocent! She deserved none of that! He needed this emotion. He needed this nightmare.
He needed this motivation.
Suddenly, it all slipped away though when he felt Kagome’s lips on his. And for that moment, he just wanted to forget. He wanted to forget the bad. He wanted to forget his vendetta against the shrew bitch. All he wanted was something happy in his life right now. He wanted Kagome.
He needed her.
Hungrily kissing her, he pulled her closer to him and in return they found themselves lying on top of the bed. Crawling over her body, placing more hungry kisses against her lip, he nestled his way between her legs and slide his hands up her soft, exposed thigh. Growling lowly, feeling his senses heighten and catching the scent of both their arousals, he knew he had to stop.
They both were not ready for this. But he couldn’t bring himself to stop. He wanted this. He wanted to forget the horrible memories of his mother. He wanted to be lost in the Miko forever.
Meanwhile, Kagome felt a strange pool below her belly. Her eyes widen as she realized what the sensation was, and knew they had to stop this. As much as she would love to have him, for him to be her first, this was not the right time. This was not the time to do any of this! Sesshomaru just finished confessing a terrible moment during those two weeks, and here she was getting turned on?
Of course, she wasn’t turned on about Sesshomaru being abused, but that still didn’t help the fact that she was getting turned on right now!
But he felt incredible pressed up against her most sensitive area. It took all she had not to grind against him. “Sesshomaru…” She moaned out between kisses, finally catching his attention.
He stared down at her, and they both looked up at one another. She wanted him. He needed her. Why stop when the bad memories were no longer bothering them, especially for Sesshomaru? But that wasn’t the case. This was not the time nor place to act in such a way.
“I’m sorry..” Sesshomaru quickly apologized, trying to get up from Kagome.
Quickly pulling him back down, she shook her head with a smile. “Don’t. It’s just…” She paused as she saw the fear in his eyes coming back. Wasting no time, she brought his lips to hers and smiled. “This just isn’t the time or place to do this. Besides, I rather you take me out on a date first.” She smiled widely.
Grinning down, Sesshomaru brought his lips down to her only to quickly come back up as the bedroom door opened.
“Holy Mother Hell! I am so sorry!” A voice called out, trying to shut the door again.
“Ojisan?” Sesshomaru asked, completely baffled by the intrusion.
“Huh?” Raising a brow, the black haired, blue eyed male looked back inside and froze. “Maru-kun?”
Lifting her head up, Kagome tried to cover herself completely until she noticed the familiar yokai from her home. “Tatsu-san?”
“What the-”
~~~~~{ ooo }~~~~~“What are you doing here?” Sesshomaru asked, quickly raising off Kagome to give her privacy. Walking over to the man he hadn’t seen since he was a five year old.Tatsu smiled brightly, and cleared his throat as he motioned for both him and Sesshomaru to step out into the hallway. Shutting the door behind them, Tatsu finally spoke up. “Hey, it’s been a long time. Can’t believe you still remember me.” He chuckled nervously.
“How could I forget?” Sesshomaru gave a faint smile, feeling his indifferent mask coming back to play. “You were the only one who cared for me back then.”
“Your father cares, I’m sure.” Tatsu gave a soft smile before looking down. “Be easy on the guy. It’s all he knows.” He finished off.
“Why are you here?” Sesshomaru finally asked.
“To see your sister.” Tatsu gave a bright smile, with sadness filling his eyes. “Miyo refuses to let me see her, even threatened I die if I came back to Tokyo.”
Sesshomaru’s eyes widen at the realization. Now it all made sense on why his mother left in such a rush. It wasn’t because she was bored with abusing her children. It was because his uncle came back to town, and she caught word of it! Now everything made sense. “Why risk your life?” Sesshomaru asked quickly, wanting to thank the man for the interruption, but decided best to not let him know. No one needed to know the abuse that he and his siblings went through.
Tatsu chuckled lightly and rubbed the side of his lip with his thumb. “Because my daughter is the only reason why I still find a reason to wake up in this world, Maru-kun. I need my daughter more than anything, and I don’t care if I die seeing her. As long as I get to see her and she knows that I have always thought of her and loved her. Not a day went by that I didn’t think about my little girl.”
Suddenly, the door opened behind them to reveal Kagome. Bowing in apology, Tatsu spoke up. “Forgive me for intruding earlier. No one never used this room before, and Daisuke-san told me to use this room if I ever came to town. Sorry for everything though. Very sorry.”
“No, it’s alright.” Kagome smiled nervously. “We were about to get up and leave anyway.” She blushed embarrassed.
Chuckling, Tatsu nodded and returned his attention to Sesshomaru. “So, where is she?”
“She should have been in the living area with everyone else.” Sesshomaru stated.
“Really? I didn’t see anyone in the front area.” Tatsu frowned, feeling his heart breaking all over again.
“Then they are in the training room.” Sesshomaru stated confidently. Leading the way, they walked down the stairs and towards a long hallway that led to Satomi’s family private Dojo. And sure enough, everyone was in the Dojo watching Naraku and Inuyasha training.
Wanting to roll his eyes, Sesshomaru found the lack of discipline and skills in his brother quickly. It was a great thing they were locked away in the room during those two weeks, or Inuyasha would’ve had his ass handed to him too. A lot.
Finally making their way to everyone, Sesshomaru cleared his throat, which caught everyone’s attention. “Bout time! Thought you guys were about to hit-” Inuyasha felt his voice trail off as he looked over to the familiar male he had seen in his mother’s photos. “Who are you?” He quickly asked, not sure he wanted to find out.
“Inuyasha?” Tatsu asked, wondering if this was indeed his nephew.
“Yeah, who wants to know?” Inuyasha smirked, narrowing his eyes on the male.
“Besides looking like my brother, you have her eyes.” Tatsu smiled while feeling his heart breaking at the mention of Izayoi. “I am your uncle, Inuyasha. I’m Tatsu.” He smiled sadly.
“Uncle?” Inuyasha frowned, looking over to his brother who nodded in agreement. “You knew my mom?”
“Me and Izayoi had been friends for a long time.” He smiled softly. Looking around, he noticed all the kids staring at him. His eyes landed on Sango and he felt another hit in his gut. “Sonya-”
“My mother?” Sango asked, wondering how this guy knew her mom.
“Forgive me. It’s just, I feel like I stepped into a time travel machine and I’m seeing younger versions of my old friends. How is Sonya?” He asked with a wide smile.
Frozen, Sango looked over to Kohaku who in turn looked over to the male and replied instead of Sango. “Our mother passed away a few years ago.”
“No…” Tatsu felt his entire gut clench more than before. All this time, he never knew. Falling to the ground, he felt himself crumbling as he thought of all his friends and how he wasn’t there for neither of them. Feeling a hand on his shoulder, he looked up to see Bankotsu who in turn looked just like Kira. “You must be Kira-san’s boy. Jakotsu?”
“That would be me!” The feminine male shouted out from across the Dojo with a wave. “He’s Bankotsu!”
“Oh, I’m sorry.” Tatsu smiled. “You looked like your mother. Is she doing well?”
“Dude, how long have you been away?” Inuyasha suddenly asked.
Looking over to his nephew, he realized the tension in the room. Shaking his head, he looked back to Bankotsu. “No, it’s not true.”
Nodding regretfully, Bank replied back. “She died from cancer. It’s fine. She lived a happy life until she had to leave.” He smiled softly, patting the guy on the shoulder. “Were you friends with her also? Like with Sango’s mom?”
Nodding, he replied back. “I was friends with all of your parents. Including your father, Kagome-san. We all grew up together, most of us since childhood.” Tatsu smiled.
“Did you know my father?” A young, soft voice called out from behind Bank.
Looking over, Tatsu was about to ask until he felt his entire body still, his breath leave and his heart race. Right before him was the exact spitting image of his mother that he loved and adored until her untimely demise. “Rin.”
Blinking in confusion, Rin looked over to her older brother who didn’t bother to look at her. Swallowing, she looked down at the male and walked closer to him. “Yes?”
Smiling widely, he felt his heart beat with love and joy. Lifting up, he quickly pulled Rin into his arms and cried gently. “I’m your father.”
Her eyes widen in shocked, Rin felt her heart soar with the news. All this time, she hoped for this day. She hoped to meet her father. If finally came true. It finally became real! Clutching onto the male, she buried her face against his chest and inhaled his scent.
She felt at home.
She felt complete now.
Smiling, she looked up with tears in her eyes. “Hi, dad.”
“Hey, my little angel.” Tatsu smiled with tears as well. “I’ve missed you.”
