Cocktail Mix 27

Inuyasha was running fast
through the forest. On his back was Kagome and next to him came the transformed
Kirara with Sango, Miroku and little Shippou on her back.

-

How far is it Inuyasha? asked Kagome.

-

Not far�, growled Inuyasha and his nose twitched. He could
smell his brother�s stench.
And he was right. They
came over a small hill and they saw Sesshoumaru lift up a small girl in the
neck. Her legs were dangling over the ground and she was yelling furiously at
the regal demon lord.

-

Fuck, she�s going to get herself killed, growled Inuyasha and
picked up his speed even more.

-

What is she doing? wondered Kagome as she held on tighter.
She saw the girl throw something into the air, but as the thing was about to hit
Sesshoumaru, he just stepped out of its course.
The little shard-hunting
group stopped just a few feet away from them. Inuyasha let Kagome slide down
from his back and then he drew his sword and pointed it towards Sesshoumaru.

The lord looked
positively bored as he shot a glance at his half brother. The girl in his hand
squirmed and yelled curses at him.

Sesshoumaru!!!

-

Inuyasha, replied the lord.

-

Let her go, ordered Inuyasha and growled at Sesshoumaru.

-

Do not bother with this half breed. This is not of your
concern.

-

Sesshoumaru, please let her go!! begged Kagome and she yipped
when the lord sent a death glare at her.

-

This Sesshoumaru will not take orders from a stupid human
girl, said Sesshoumaru and looked at the girl in his grip.
She had black, short
hair. Her eyes were oceanic grey and right now they were sending some cold
stares right at him. She couldn�t be older than fifteen he estimated. She had
carried a large shuriken with which she had fought against him with. It had been
very sharp and she actually had made a cut in his haori. And for that she was
going to pay with her life. He looked at her with disgust in his amber eyes. She
was barely dressed, wearing only a small, black piece of textile that covered
her upper body. She wore a pair of green� loin cloth he would call it and a pair
of completely clumsy foot wear. Her loin cloth was held up with a pair of
elastic bands.

The shard-hunting group
held their breaths as Sesshoumaru lifted up the girl even higher into the air as
he eyed her from top to bottom and back up again. Inuyasha was a bit bewildered
that he couldn�t detect any fear in her scent. She wasn�t afraid of his brother,
but she was surely pissed off.

-

Let me go you big oaf!! snarled the girl as she tried to kick
him with her heavy boots.

-

Insolent child, said Sesshoumaru coldly as he just let go of
her and she dropped to the ground with a heavy thud.

-

How dare you� you� you� YOU BIG APE!!! screamed the
girl furiously and she jumped up on her feet with a very acrobatic move and the
second later she had kicked him on the back of his knees and he stumbled forward
and she was about to throw herself at him.
But Inuyasha managed to
grab her in her suspenders and pulled her back. She twirled around and punched
him right in the face, but he didn�t budge. It was important to get away from
Sesshoumaru before his bastard brother decided to turn into his true form, The
Great Dog Demon. Inuyasha could already see the blood seep into his brother�s
eyes and it was time to take their leave. Inuyasha heard Kagome stutter out an
excuse to Sesshoumaru before running to sit up on Kirara. Inuyasha hoisted the
girl over his shoulder and then they took their leave.

Sesshoumaru was
humiliated. The half breed had snatched his prey right in front of him. The girl
was going to die for destroying his clothes and she was certainly going to die
for kicking him. But when a small voice echoed over the clearing his red eyes
reverted back to their amber colour again.

Sesshoumaru-sama, yelled Rin and run over the small plain and
up to her idol.

-

Rin�

-

Where did the lady go? She said she would teach Rin how to
use the shu..she�shurken, the metal stars, said the little brown eyed girl.

-

She left, said Sesshoumaru and turned around and picked up
the shuriken that had landed next to him and then he walked towards the place
Rin had come from.
Rin pouted and looked
around the clearing. The girl had been very nice to Rin when she got lost in the
forest. The girl had been crying when Rin came up to her, but Rin had comforted
her and said that she could come with Rin so she could meet Sesshoumaru-sama. He
would help the girl just as he had helped Rin. And as they found their way out
of the thick forest, the girl had given Rin small metal stars. They had a funny
name and Rin couldn�t pronounce it correctly, so she would just call them stars.
But now the girl was gone and Rin fought against the tears that wanted to roll
down her cheek. She took a deep breath and then she followed her beloved
Sesshoumaru-sama.

As soon as they were
safe, Inuyasha sat down the wiggling and screaming girl on the ground and then
he jumped away. Her fists kicked quite a punch and that was nothing he wanted to
feel again. She was hissing in anger as she reached for a small metally thing
that was attached to her strange green.. trousers? Inuyasha barely got out of
the way when she threw something at him.

You bastard, I had that freaky fucker right where I wanted
him, screamed the girl and raised her fists into the air.

-

Girl, you wouldn�t stand a piss ant�s chance against
Sesshoumaru, snarled Inuyasha.

-

Ha, and you would know about that I presume, she shot back at
him

-

Hell yeah, the bastard is my half brother. And he�s a fucking
demon!

Yeah?

YEAH!

SHUT UP YOU TWO!!
screamed Kagome and then came the hated word. � Inuyasha,
SIT!!! SIT!!!
The girl eyes widened
when she saw the white haired boy fall down to the earth over and over due to
some strange spell.

A few moments later the
girl with the sit-command came over to her and looked at her.

My name is Kagome, who are you? asked Kagome and looked at
the underdressed girl.

-

I am Yuffie, said the girl and her chin rose a bit as if she
was proud of her name or her being.

-

Nice to meet you Yuffie and you should be grateful that we
came when we did, because Sesshoumaru would have killed you otherwise, said
Kagome and smiled gently.

-

Hah, that big ape couldn�t kill me even if his life depended
on it, snorted the girl.

-

I�m sorry Yuffie-san, but Kagome-sama is right.
Sesshoumaru-sama is a very powerful demon. And he�s not an ape; he�s a dog, said
Miroku and bowed. � By the way, I am Miroku; I�m a humble Buddhist monk.

Huh?

-

Will you do me the honour of bearing me�.
The humble monk was
knocked unconscious by a large boomerang. A boomerang that was wielded by a
young woman dressed in a black cat suit.

He�s a pervert and you want to stay away from him unless you
wanted to get groped, said the woman. � I am Sango, I am a demon exterminator.
This is Kirara my faithful companion.

Oh, cute kitty, giggled the girl and kneeled next to Kirara�s
small form. She petted the cat behind her ears and received a soft purr.

How did you end up in a fight with Sesshoumaru? asked Kagome
and sat down next to the girl.

-

The bastard didn�t want me to let his daughter be taught in
how to use the shurikens as weapons to defend herself with, said Yuffie and
shrugged a bit.

-

Daughter, my bastard brother has no children, growled
Inuyasha as he pushed himself up from the crater that had formed underneath him.

-

Are you stupid or what??? He has this little cute thing that
runs around like she was made of a whirlwind. She said her name was Rin and she
called him papa, said Yuffie and glared at Inuyasha.
The shard-hunting group
was stunned. The girl, Rin, they knew she was following Sesshoumaru for some
reason, but they could not ever imagine that the ice cold lord had adopted her
as his daughter. �And yet he allows her to go where ever he goes��
thought Inuyasha and smirked. Oh, man this was useful taunting-stuff.

Wipe that grin off your face stupid, mumbled Yuffie. �
Anyway, when Rin was away he just grabbed me, I fought him but he was being anal
about his clothes when I ripped it with my Conformer. Then you guys showed up
and the rest is history.
Kagome gaped, had she
really heard Yuffie say that Sesshoumaru was anal??? Dear Gods, she was just
glad that they had gotten away from him with their lives and limbs intact. That
girl was going to get herself killed if she continued on like she did.

Where do you come from Yuffie-san? asked Kagome.

-

Well, I thought I had died, but obviously I am not dead. And
how I ended up on this god forsaken place� fuck I don�t know how I came to be
here, said Yuffie and looked up at the sky. The stars that was forming above her
was not the same that she was used to.

-

What do you mean�? Why should you be dead? Asked Sango.

-

It was this meteor� it hit the Planet and I was sure I was
going to die; I could feel my body entering the Lifestream� but something must
have happened because I woke up in a strange forest and then Rin found me. She
had got lost in that large forest and I helped her back to the ape.

-

Meteor? Lifestream�? Kagome was utterly confused, just as the
rest of the group. It made no sense at all. She tried to remember if she had
read about a meteor hitting the earth, but she couldn�t recall any such event.
It sounded like it had been a very large catastrophe.
Yuffie sighed. She just
had to face the facts, she somehow had ended up in a strange world with equally
strange people. And what was it with these white haired fellows? When she first
had seen this Sesshoumaru she had been sure that he was Sephiroth�s brother. But
they said that he was a demon� sure she believed in demons, she had been
fighting against dragons and behemoths all over the Planet. And they sure were
demons according to her. And that creep Hojo certainly was a demon in a human
form. Man, this just sucked. And on top of it all � her Conformer was gone. All
she had left was a few small shurikens. She cursed and fell back on the ground.

Yuffie-san? Are you ok? asked Sango worriedly.

-

Yeah, I�m fine� I just want to rest a bit ok?

-

You can stay with us as long as you like, offered Kagome
gently.

-

The hell she can!! Yelled Inuyasha.

-

Inuyasha, don�t make me say it again, warned Kagome.

-

Fuck!!

-

Inuyasha�.
Sango rolled her eyes and
got up and dragged Inuyasha with her.

-

Come on Inuyasha, let�s go hunting, she said. She didn�t want
to hear the two argue again.
Inuyasha didn�t say
anything; he just glared at the newcomer before walking away with a snort.

Yuffie weighed her
options and decided that she could stick around this group that somehow reminded
her of her old gang. �Cloud, Tifa� Red, Barret� Vincent, Cid� what are you
all doing now? Did you die when the meteor hit or were you safe?� She
growled and blinked away the tears and rolled over on her stomach and hid her
face between her arms. Perhaps she could get some sleep and in the morning it
all would look a little bit better. She took a deep breathe and relaxed.

Kagome was concerned
about the young girl and once she was sure she was asleep she put a blanket over
her. Kirara was on watch while Miroku was knocked out and Inuyasha and Sango was
out hunting. �Now that was strange� he just followed Sango and not once he
objected against it like he would when I have asked him to do it.� thought
Kagome and picked up a sleeping Shippou in her arms and made a small camp fire
to warm her with. She tried to find an explanation to it but could not find any.

In a camp ten miles away
sat Rin and tried not to cry. But she missed Yuffie so much that in the end she
gave up her fight and let the tears roll down her cheeks. Jaken became upset but
Rin refused to tell the ugly toad why she was crying. Sesshoumaru was no where
near the camp and she curled up against a tree and cried her heart out. She
couldn�t help it. Yuffie had been the first after Sesshoumaru who accepted her.
The only difference was that Yuffie talked a lot more to her and Rin really
wanted to learn how to throw those metal stars. It was so she could defend
herself had Yuffie said.

Sesshoumaru was not far
away from the camp. He heard Rin�s soft cry and it bothered him more than he
wanted to admit. He still pondered on why he let her follow him around. He still
remembered how his heart had stopped when she fell from the mountain when she
was looking for an herb to heal Jaken with. And the time where she had been
abducted by that ogre who lured children to him with a flute, he had been
slightly worried about her safety. The monks had tried to vanquish him, but of
course they failed. They wanted to take Rin from him. He had told her that she
could do as she wished and she had followed him in his footsteps.

But worst feeling of them
all had been when she talked about being dead and not able to follow him around.
That had hurt. Sesshoumaru looked at the stars and wondered why he had felt such
a powerful feeling, but the stars just blinked in their silence and he diverted
his gaze. He had said that she shouldn�t be foolish and then continued walking.
And now she was crying and he knew why she was crying. She missed that obnoxious
girl, but he couldn�t let that foolish woman be around Rin. Rin could get hurt
and Sesshoumaru wouldn�t allow that.

He walked back to the
camp once the crying had stopped and he sat down next to Rin. He made sure that
Jaken was asleep as well and then he placed his tail over Rin�s shivering form.
�You are nothing but a mere human, so how can you hold such power over this
Sesshoumaru?� he asked himself as he closed his eyes. He would not sleep,
only rest for a few hours.

A few days later it was
time again. Inuyasha could barely stand being within ten feet of Yuffie and the
feeling was mutual. They were always arguing or bickering which ended up with
Kagome sitting Inuyasha to kingdom come. After that Sango was the one to make
Inuyasha come with her. It was always hunting, fishing or gathering firewood
that was used as an excuse. Kagome was confused. Never once he argued or whined
about it when Sango asked him. He just followed her like a lost puppy dog.

Miroku had noticed it as
well and it made him jealous. But at the same time he was far more interested in
trying to get a grope on Yuffie�s firm little ass. But he was scared off for a
half a day after she almost cut his fingers off with a small shuriken. She then
slapped him black and blue and wandered off into the forest.

Yuffie was furious. She
was deep down very scared but being the brave shinobi that she was, she refused
to show any of it. She stomped around in the forest and growled curses under her
breath when she by mistake stumbled right into a small green figure. It was the
freaky toad thing that had been with Rin�s daddy.

Hey, lizard man, where�s Rin-chan? asked Yuffie as she nailed
Jaken under her foot.

-

Arghhh!!!

-

Answer me toad!!

-

She�s not here, whined Jaken and he was getting a sickly
yellow colour in his face.

-

Stupid, that was not what I asked. I want to know where she
is!!

-

She�s at the c-camp, gasped Jaken.

-

Which way?

-

W-what?

-

In what direction lies your camp toad?
He pointed with his
finger and she released him and walked towards the direction he had pointed out.
Behind was a gasping Jaken. He was coughing violently as he tried to regain his
regular breathing.

�Rin-chan, I hope that
you are alright.� thought
Yuffie as she strolled through the forest and hoped that she would find the
little girl soon. And she did, but it was her Conformer that almost found her
first. Her beloved shuriken came wobbling through the air and her hand shot out
and caught it easily. �Rin-chan, you are trying to practice on your own I
see.� thought Yuffie and smiled and stepped into a small camp.

Rin could barely believe
her eyes. It was her friend Yuffie.

-

YUFFIE-SAN!! she yelled and threw herself at the older girl.

-

Rin-chan, it is nice to see you too, said Yuffie and lifted
up Rin and hugged her tightly.

-

I�ve missed you Yuffie-san, sniffled Rin and buried her face
in Yuffie�s neck.

-

I�ve missed you too Rin. I see you have my Conformer. It�s a
little big for you, but I have something that will suit you better, said Yuffie
and let Rin down.
Rin�s large brown eyes
looked intensely at Yuffie when she took out two small throwing stars. But then
she remembered how angry Sesshoumaru had been when she had showed her the other
two she had received from Yuffie. She had found the large star just a few hours
earlier. Sesshoumaru must have thrown it away.

Yuffie-san, don�t be mad at Rin, but Rin can not take it.
Sesshoumaru-sama was very angry with me and he said that you left after he took
you away.

-

Well, Rin-chan, don�t you worry about that� here, just put it
in your kimono-sleeve and he will not notice it. Your daddy and I don�t agree on
some things, but I will always make sure that you are safe Rin-chan, said Yuffie
with a soft smile. � And I better be going before he comes back. But I will come
back soon and then I will teach you how to use the shurikens better.
Rin nodded and hugged
Yuffie again and then she hid the stars in her sleeve. Yuffie rustled her hair a
bit before leaving Rin alone again.

Sesshoumaru growled
darkly when Rin came running towards him as he came back to the camp. He could
smell that insolent girl on Rin. He looked firmly at his young ward.

Rin! he said.

-

Yes, Sesshoumaru-sama? she said weakly.

-

Where�s the other girl? he asked and sniffed Rin more
closely.

-

Yuffie-san? She�s not here, mumbled Rin and blushed. She
didn�t want to lie to Sesshoumaru so she told him the truth. � Not anymore. She
was walking around and came here. Ohh, Sesshoumaru-sama, Rin was so happy to see
her again. Rin wants her to be with Rin all the time!!

-

Rin!
Rin yelped and she bowed
her head in submission.

-

Rin is sorry, so sorry Sesshoumaru-sama, she whispered and
she was close to tears again.

-

Have you eaten Rin? asked Sesshoumaru and hated the guilty
feeling he had in his stomach again.
Rin nodded.

-

Then you will sleep, we�ll leave early tomorrow, said
Sesshoumaru and saw Rin move towards the camp fire. She lay down but he could
hear her soft cry.
But she did fell asleep
very soon and once Sesshoumaru was sure that she was, he put his tail over her
for protection against the cold night.

Jaken came back and saw
it but he wouldn�t dare questioning Sesshoumaru about the matter. If he did he
could kiss his green ass goodbye.

Sesshoumaru sent a death
glare towards Jaken, daring him to say anything but the retainer held his mouth
shut. It pleased the demon lord very much. But he was still bothered by the fact
that the brat had been in his camp, with his ward, and he had not been here to
protect Rin. And yet at the same time it didn�t seem like the loud mouthed girl
was a threat to Rin.

His ears perked when he
heard Rin mumble something in her sleep about a big star and he frowned and got
up. He disappeared from the camp and headed to where he had thrown that infernal
shuriken that had ripped his haori a few days earlier. But he couldn�t find it,
which meant that Rin probably had. But where was it now? Had the girl taken it
back? She was good with it; she used it like a ninja would. Perhaps that was
what she was � a ninja. A female ninja? That was a possibility. He decided to
talk to Rin in the morning. But even if he felt at ease that Rin was not
threatened he still couldn�t forget those defiant grey eyes that haunted him.

Yuffie came back to the
camp just when Sango and Inuyasha came strolling trough the forest with their
catch of fish. The shinobi glared at Inuyasha, but she kept her mouth shut. She
was tired and she didn�t want to ruin her good mood. She had been very happy to
see the little girl Rin again, and she was going to make sure that she met the
little girl often. Rin had this gift� she just made people feel like smiling.

-

Hey girl!! shouted Inuyasha as he came closer and Yuffie
turned to look at the hanyou.

-

What Inuyasha?

-

You smell funny, where fuck have you been? he blurted out.

-

That�s none of your business, said Yuffie and tried not to
explode as soon as the idiot opened his mouth.

-

Hey Inuyasha, I don�t think you should be the one to tell
anyone that they smell, said Shippou and wrinkled his nose.

-

Shut up you little twerp!! growled Inuyasha and began chasing
the kit around the camp.
�And then we was all
back to normal again.�
thought Sango as she knocked out a groping monk.

But during the middle of
the night Yuffie woke up and she looked around. She couldn�t sleep any longer
and she rose to her feet. She looked around and wandered if she could visit a
bush or something. She walked away and just when she was about to sit down she
was grabbed by the arm.

Hey Yuffie, what are you doing? asked a voice so low that it
was barely above whisper.

-

Shit dog boy, you scared the living daylight out of me,
mumbled Yuffie when she recognized the hanyou.

-

What are you doing out here?

-

I thought the bushes here needed some watering, said Yuffie
and shot him a glare.

-

Just be careful, the night is not safe here, said Inuyasha
and took a few steps back and turned around to let her do what she was out here
to do.
Yuffie was surprised;
this was not the bickering hanyou from the day. What the fuck was wrong with
him? But her natural need pushed on and she got down to business. But as soon as
she was done she was going to have some answers from him.

Inuyasha heard her do her
business and when he was sure that she was done he turned around again. He
frowned; she just had to be cold in that skimpy outfit of hers. �She looks
even worse than Kagome.� he thought and removed his red haori and put it
over her shoulders. He got a stunned grey look from the girl and he just
snorted.

-

Come on Yuffie, I need to talk to you, said Inuyasha.

-

You�re acting funny dog boy!

-

Please? he growled.
�Ok, now I don�t know
what to believe.� thought
Yuffie but followed Inuyasha to where they could talk without disturbing the
others.

Inuyasha took a deep
breath close to Yuffie, the scent still lingered on her clothes.

-

I told you earlier that you smelled funny.

-

Do you think I should take a bath perhaps�?

-

No, it was not that� fuck, you girls always think the worst!
You have someone else�s scent on you, you met that little girl that my bastard
brother drags around didn�t you?
Yuffie made bug eyes at
his soft voice, but she nodded.

-

Yeah, after you pissed me off I just wandered around the
forest and then I almost tripped over the lizard man, I got him to tell me where
their camp were and I went there to talk to Rin-chan, said Yuffie.

-

Cute kid huh? said Inuyasha with a smirk.

-

Well, yeah� she is. Hey Inuyasha, are you feeling ill or
something??

-

Huh?

-

Because you acting strange, like as if you cared or
something.

-

Keh! I can if I want to, snorted Inuyasha and put his chin
into the air.

-

Whatever� Rin-chan had found my Conformer, so now I can help
you guys to fight if you let me, said Yuffie and held up the large shuriken.

-

Do what you want, said Inuyasha and remembered how she had
thrown it into the air in order to hurt Sesshoumaru with it. It was a sharp and
deadly weapon.

-

And now what?

-

I don�t think you should seek her out again. The bastard will
kill you if he finds you there, said Inuyasha.

-

I can handle him, he�s not that tough! stated Yuffie.
Inuyasha rolled his eyes;
he knew that he couldn�t persuade her to not go to Rin. This girl was just
asking for it. She was more cocky than him, that�s for sure. They began to walk
back to the camp.

She handed him the red
haori and thanked him for it and then they just sat down and Yuffie fell asleep.
But Inuyasha stayed awake, guarding the camp. He was a bit confused about his
brother�s behaviour. If he really wanted the girl dead, he would have just
killed her. But he just taunted her by holding her by the neck as if he was
scruffing a pup. It made no sense what so ever.

Sesshoumaru decided that
they would travel in the opposite direction from his brother�s group. He didn�t
want Rin to meet the shinobi again. But the quivering lip of Rin told him that
he would not stay away from the bastard long enough for Rin to forget about the
girl. He silently cursed and knew that he was turning into one big softie when
it came down to the little human girl.

Rin!

-

Yes, Sesshoumaru-sama? answered Rin quietly.

-

Did you find something yesterday that you want to tell me
about? asked Sesshoumaru without looking at his young ward.

-

Y-yes, Sesshoumaru-sama, I did.

-

What was it?

-

It was Yuffie-san�s throwing star, the big one, said Rin. She
couldn�t lie to her idol.

-

Where is it now?

-

She said it was too big for me and took it back.
If Sesshoumaru was
surprised to hear this, he didn�t show it.

-

Did she give you something else instead?

-

Y-yes.

-

More stars Rin?
Rin nodded and put her
hand into her sleeve and plucked out the two stars Yuffie had given her. He
inspected them but to Rin�s great surprise he gave them back to her.

-

Make sure not to cut yourself on them, said Sesshoumaru and
then he began to walk again.

-

Thank you Sesshoumaru-sama! she said and grabbed on to his
leg and hugged him.
Sesshoumaru�s eyes
widened slightly at the display of emotions, but he let her do it. And as soon
as she let him go, he continued to walk as if nothing had happened.

Rin was happy that
Sesshoumaru had not taken her gifts away. But she still missed Yuffie very much.
The young woman had something that Rin couldn�t get from Sesshoumaru and that

he would punish the slayer for that statement.

Sango was about to chip a
tooth when Inuyasha came up to her and put a large hand on her shoulder and
asked what was wrong. She just sighed and pointed towards Rin.

everyone else still was in a sleeping mode. She stirred in the fire and soon it
