Sorry for the late update! I am still here and breathing! Here is another chapter! I plan on finishing this story, as well as my others. It will be a while, but don't give up on me. I am still here. I hope you guys like this chapter.
Chapter Twenty-Nine
“He is adorable! I can’t believe I haven’t rushed here sooner to see the handsome prince.” Kira Mukai cued as she picked up the already walking toddler from his play pin area. “Hello, little prince, my name is Kira Mukai. But you can call me Kiki-san. I’m Jakotsu’s mommy, and I have a feeling you and my little prince are going to be the best of friends. What do you think, Izayoi?”
Like Kira, Izayoi shared the mutual dark brown hair that went past their waist. Dressed in the modern style kimono, with the family colors of the Taisho family, she raised her hand delicately and chuckled softly. “I have to agree with you, Kira. Inuyasha and Jakotsu would make great friends. Where is little Bankotsu?”
Kira sighed, and made a playful huffing noise as she looked at her dear friend with annoyance. “Masa-kun decided to take him for the day. I guess he realizes that Jak is momma’s boy. He is trying to have one of them as all his.” She chuckled softly. “I truly love that man. Oh! I forgot to tell you!”
Almost startling Inuyasha in her arms, she gave a squeak and placed him on the floor where Jak was nicely hiding behind his mother. “Go play you two.” She smiled softly, before turning back to her dear friend. “I’m pregnant!”
“What? Oh, my goodness, Kira! Congrats!” Izayoi cried out, pushing forward to draw her friend into a hug. I am so happy for you!”
Cherishing the love from her friend, she finally realized something else. Pushing back a bit, she considered Izayoi’s light brown eyes and swallowed hard. “I didn’t hurt you by saying those words, did I?” Remembering the day that Izayoi almost lost Inuyasha and had to become sterile after his birth. The day was tragic, and if it hadn’t been for the doctors making a choice that day, both lives would have been gone that day.
Shaking her head, Izayoi smiled and looked off to the distance to see her son playing with Jak. “No. I am not worried about that. I have my little prince, and that’s all that matters to me.”
“Izayoi!” A nail scratching scream shouted out from upstairs. “I told you a thousand times to keep your tainted brat away from my son! I can’t have him playing with that excuse for a living being!”
Without a moment’s notice, Izayoi rose from her seat quickly and walked in front of Inuyasha and Jakotsu. “Miyo, I don’t appreciate you talking like that to my child.”
Scoffing, Miyo walked downstairs where Sesshomaru was casually holding up two toys. His hair was already down to his shoulders, but was pulled back into a ponytail. He had tears in his eyes and hid behind the pillar of the stairs, all because he got his brother in trouble on accident. He just wanted to play with his little brother and the new person. “Sesshomaru does not play with trash!” Miyo spat at Izayoi and looked over to Kira. “Or dirt! He is an heir and a pure yokai! Don’t ever let me find you having your worthless piece of shit of a son near my precious boy again!”
Smack!
“You fucking bitch! I told you countless times to not speak that way in front of the children! Do you not have any heart? Sesshomaru is a young boy, and that is his brother! They want to play together, they should! Why the hell should we restrict them from that? What you are doing is wrong, and I wish Take was here to witness it all so you can be tossed out of here! There is nothing in this family keeping you tied anymore! The second the divorced is finalized with you and Take, you will be out of here! I hope it doesn’t come to that, but I am sick and tired of you insulting my son and isolating yours!” Izayoi growled out, clutching her hand and ready to smack the ever-living hell out of Miyo once more.
“I can’t believe you just hit me!” Miyo screamed, holding her cheek and looking in disgust at Izayoi. “You fucking whore, I will kill you! And don’t think too high of yourself! Take will never divorce me! You are the side bitch!”
Rushing to her friend’s aid, Kira stood beside Izayoi and was ready to fight regardless of anything. The last thing they needed was this lady to go berserk and hurt the children. “Miyo, you should leave.” Kira stated firmly.
Scoffing at the two, she turned on her heel and walked up the stairs. Grabbing Sesshomaru by his tiny arm, she yanked him to her side and continued to lead him away from everyone else. Crying, he tried to pull away, wanting to stay with his brother. It wasn’t fair that he had to be kept away from Inuyasha. “Stop it, Sesshomaru! You are not to be around trash!” Was all Miyo repeated, eventually causing Sesshomaru to keep a distance so he never had to hear those words again about his brother.
“Momma, why can’t we play with Sesshii?” Inuyasha babbled softly, having Jakotsu help him with some of the words. “Nii-san in trouble?”
Izayoi felt her heart breaking at the innocence in her boy’s words. Turning to him, she saw the little tears falling down his cheeks. Wiping them away, she shook her head. “He isn’t in trouble, baby. His mommy is just very protective, is all.”
“But we are brothers.” Inuyasha began to sniffle, his words breaking as tears trailed down.
“I know baby. Maybe one day, you two will be brothers.” She prayed.
Present Time
This was not his idea of fun. How was any of this fun? Looking over at Jakotsu, he couldn’t help but wanted to sneak away to join everyone else but he knew the consequences to those actions. Just even thinking them would get his ass handed to him on a silver platter. “Babe…” Inuyasha whispered softly, catching Jak’s attention as he zoomed past. “Why am I in here? I don’t even know how to cook.”
Sighing, Jak relented and snuggled up to his man. “I know, but with everything going on, I kinda need you here for the moment.” Placing gentle kisses against Inuyasha’s neck, Jak continued to curl his arms around the man he loved and cared for deeply.
“But you don’t need me in here. We can cuddle when food is done. Besides, I need to be with my brother right now. He arrived, and so far, he’s been distant with people.” He stated softly, pulling Jak closer to him, while leaning in to bite the soft curve on his neck. “Besides, if I stay in here any longer, I might just have you for dinner. Watching you move around the kitchen, and swaying these hips are really driving me insane.” He growled gently into his ear.
Shivering from the demon side of his boyfriend, Jak finally gave in and pushed back. “Ok, go and be a brother to Sesshomaru.” Looking down, he swallowed hard to notice the hard bulge in Inuyasha’s pants. “I can give you a quick one, right now.” He grinned, bringing his fingers to the front of Inyasha’s pants.
Chuckling, Inuyasha looked around and saw a pantry with a door. Grabbing his boyfriend, he quickly rushed them into the pantry and shut the door for privacy. A few minutes shouldn’t be too bad.
Naraku and Sesshomaru, the inseparable duo when shit hit the fan, sat on the front porch while smoking cigars. As they relaxed and watched the sun rising to the highest peak to melt some of the snow, they froze the second they heard Jak’s muffled moans from behind the wall. “Are they seriously?”
“Carpe diem.” Sesshomaru stated, smoking the rest of his cigar and shaking his head. “Never really noticed how much he sounds like a girl.”
Laughing loudly, Naraku shivered and shook his head. “There were times I wish I never knew how vocal that man can get.” Remembering the time, he had walked in on Jak before he ever dated Inuyasha. The man was being impaled by two jocks from high school, and the noises that were coming from Jak made Naraku’s skin crawl. It just wasn’t natural, then again, he always saw Jak as the stalker who had a crush on him.
“Didn’t you two have sex?” Sesshomaru muttered, leaning forward to avoid hearing anymore of his brother or Jak’s muffled moans.
“You are mistaking Miroku with myself. I never had relations with Jak, even though he tried his hardest to get me in bed. Instead, he got ahold of Miroku and he claimed that was close enough.” Naraku just shook his head as he finished those words and ash his cigar. “But there are still times he tries to fuck with me though. Usually when we have a sleepover and I find him snuggling up to me.”
Cocking a brow, Sesshomaru had to ask the next question on his mind. “Does he still want you?” Feeling a sense of dread that Jak might cheat on his little brother. For some reason, the need to protect his little brother’s heart grew very strong.
Laughing loudly, and shaking his head, Naraku eased the heir’s mind. “Fuck no! He does it to get a rise out of Inuyasha. For the longest, the hanyou never came out of the closet and kept a distance. I was close to beating the jerk for making Jak upset every single time. I got tired of him venting to me and calling me late hours of the night to complain how Inuyasha didn’t hold his hand at school today.” Sighing, he cleared his throat and scratched his chin. “If anything, Jak has always loved Inuyasha, and when your brother isn’t as open, Jak does everything to get a rise out of the man he loves. It’s toxic.”
Smirking, the heir nodded too and thought the same. It was strange how close everyone has gotten since the winter break trip. He also was grateful how close he got to his brother too. All these years, he spent his entire life proving to be the asshole that his mother wanted him to be. He was cruel to his little brother, but only because if he wasn’t, Miyo would act for Sesshomaru’s kindness. It was just something he couldn’t take anymore. He was tired of hearing the hurtful words his mother used to describe his little brother and his step-mother.
Izayoi. That was one woman he wished he got to spend more time with. He remembers the day they heard of the wreck that took her life, as well as Satomi’s uncle and Naraku’s step-mother. They did nothing to deserve the death they had, and he remembered running to his closet and opening the hidden door that revealed a small hole where he hid away most of childhood with Satomi. He cried when he heard of Izayoi’s death.
She always made it a point to be kind to him, and treat him with respect and love. When Miyo wasn’t around, he would sit with her outside in the gardens that his father made for Inuyasha and her. He was never jealous of the love and affection his father showered the two with, not like his mother who grew furious every time Take would give Izayoi and Inuyasha something. He just saw it as a form of love, and he wanted it too.
She never shooed him away, and she always touched his cheek with a motherly caress. It wasn’t like Miyo, whose touch always made his skin crawl and stomach turn. Izayoi made him feel safe and loved, and when she passed, he cried. He knew at that point, his little brother wouldn’t be safe from Miyo’s terror, so he did the only thing he could do – be cruel to his little brother.
When Rin was born, that’s when everything became clear of how controlling his mother was. She was close to being tossed out, he remembered hearing about how the divorce was close to being final. But she got pregnant and Take being the man of honor, dropped the divorce case and stayed with Miyo. When Rin arrived, Take never questioned that she wasn’t the child of Taisho blood. He held her the same way he held his children, with love and care. It was the only time Sesshomaru ever saw the man show an emotion that didn’t involve someone getting maimed for disappointing him.
But the happiness faded when Miyo began to restrict Take’s visitation to his daughter and son. She always had them away when Take came back from a business trip. Sesshomaru eventually became jealous when he noticed Inuyasha and Take had more of a father and son relationship than he did. But he was angry with his mother. It wasn’t until Rin was five that she became less strict and had Rin spend time with Take a bit more than once a week. But that came with a price.
Shivering from the memory of when his mother first attacked him sexually, he swallowed hard and felt his entire body grow frigid from the terror he felt. How could the woman who claimed to be his mother act in such a way that broke her child’s soul?
“Hey!” Naraku shouted out, catching Sess’s attention finally. “You ok there? You were gone into space for a good five minutes.”
Looking over to the hanyou, he nodded and smiled softly. “I was just thinking about the time I was little. About how I had to be mean to my little brother when Izayoi died. I didn’t want Miyo to be mean to him, so I became the bad one.”
“That reminds me, Sess, that you need to know.” Naraku finally said after there was a pregnant pause between the two. Sighing with the weight that needed to be off his shoulders, he cleared his throat and prepared to explain everything that was told to him not too long ago from Hana and Tatsu. “Miyo isn’t your real mother.”
Silence – that was all that could be heard. Sesshomaru wasn’t sure how to respond, and even Naraku felt like all of this sounded like lies! After sitting in silence, waiting for the other to speak while the snow around them slowly melted from the sunshine above, it was almost too much. The air around them, besides it being cold, was tensed with awkwardness.
“Who told you this?” Sesshomaru finally asked, wondering who would speak of such things. Miyo wouldn’t lie – scratch that. He just wasn’t sure what she was capable of anymore. Part of him wanted to know this was true, and he would forever be away from her. But the other part, the side that knew Miyo all his life as a mother, it felt almost unreal. Yes, she has been a shit of a parent, but the fact remains he always lived his entire life thinking she was his real mother. If she isn’t, then who gave him up to such a vile woman? He wasn’t sure what to feel at this moment.
Fidgeting in his chair, Naraku licked his dried lips and responded back, “Your uncle, Tatsu. He explained how Miyo tricked her very twin sister into having you. She never had Take’s child.”
“But that doesn’t make any sense. Certainly, someone would have caught on that I was not Miyo’s child. None of this is making sense, Naraku.” Sesshomaru sighed, running his fingers through his hair in frustration. “How could anyone be oblivious to that? Did my real mother not want me? Is this how that all came to be?”
Placing a hand on Sesshomaru’s shoulder, he watched as his friend tensed the second they heard the door beside them open to reveal Inuyasha. Having heard the conversation, the hanyou walked over to the two and sat beside his big brother. “Just be glad you aren’t that bitch’s kid. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t even care who my real mother was. I would just be happy that I am not the son of a sociopathic whore.”
“I got to agree with Inuyasha here. I would be happy with just that fact alone.” Naraku chuckled, patting his friend on his back. “So, what is bothering you the most right now?”
“Who is my real mother and why did she give me up to Miyo? That is all I want to know.” He finally whispered, feeling the emotion of betrayal seeping in. He didn’t even know this woman, and yet he felt betrayed that she just gave him up to the devil. He felt hurt.
Nodding in agreement, Naraku looked over to the two brothers. “Well, if you like, we can always go talk to our parents. Seems they will know more about this stuff than we do. And you can bet your ass, if we were to ask Miyo herself, she would only spew lies.”
“Agree.” The brothers said in unison. “Well, let’s go find our uncle, and the others. Maybe we can figure out what exactly is going on here.” Sesshomaru finished off, standing up from his spot and having the other two follow in his lead as they ventured back into the mansion to seek the elders.
Eighteen Years Ago
“He isn’t going to believe you.” Mina Oshiro stated confidently, walking around the alter with a small extended belly. “You practically cheated on your husband, and got pregnant with a wolf’s mutt. Does Sado know you are carrying his child?” She cocked a brow, enjoying the fact that Miyo Oshiro was ruining her life.
“You should talk! Last time I checked, my husband slept with you! And now you are pregnant with his child! Don’t give me the whole praising bullshit, you fucking bitch. I did nothing wrong!” Miyo defended, trying to justify her actions as she looked at the sonogram picture of her child. “Sado doesn’t know. Only you and Kirai know, and speaking of which, she is also pregnant.”
Chuckling at the class of her twin sister and slutty friend, she shook her head and walked up to the family alter. “Both sluts are pregnant, and I take it she is also with someone else’s kid but her husband’s?” Mina sighed, giving a displeasing stare.
“No, unlike you, she is pregnant with her husband’s kid. But she has changed, and I don’t like it. She avoids me now, and talks about her and Natsu all the time! I am going through a major crisis, and all she can think about is herself!” Miyo shouted out, feeling the anger rising.
“Oh that is horrible. Her caring about herself and her soon to be family. Shame on her for not putting you first.” Mina sarcastically put, looking at her selfish sister. “She probably has no heart to take in your feelings. That is just so mean.”
Tossing one of the bowls of blessed water, Miyo threw a fit and screamed childishly. “That is not the point! And do not patronize me, you whore!”
“Therefore the family refuses to aid you anymore. You aren’t even supposed to be in the family alter. They fear you will only taint it with your uncleanliness.” Mina stated, walking over to pick up the bowl and place it back on the rack by the wall. “So, what is going to be your next move? You can’t pass off your kid as Take’s son. Your kid will look like Sado, and that alone will fuck you for any devious plan you have set up. Do yourself a favor and tell them the truth. He might be able to forgive you, but if you continue on this path, it will only lead to chaos and destruction.”
“I can curse you.” Miyo grinned, walking over to her sister. “We are twins, and we are pregnant at the same time. All I need is your child.”
Laughing loudly, Mina pushed her sister away and shook her head at the audacity of Miyo. “Like hell you will have my child! I am not giving him up!”
“We will see about that.” Miyo smirked, walking out of the alter with a single strand of hair from her twin sister. It wasn’t long after until she met with Kirai and one of the miko’s that helped her out whenever she got into a pickle.
Explaining everything to Kirai, the young spider demon could only shake her head. “I am sorry, Miyo-san. I would help you with whatever, but I am not going to give my child up. I am finally happy, and I don’t want to do this. I will do anything for you, but just not that.”
“You will watch me burn?” Miyo accused, feeling anger that her own friend refused to help her. “I thought we were friends! What has this child brought to you that I haven’t?”
“It’s different, Miyo-san! You should know, since you too are pregnant. Don’t you feel that energy you get from the little one? I don’t want to lose my child, and I refuse to do this anymore. I am done being mean to people. Those people, that our husbands hung out with in high school, were not bad people. They are cool and very amazing people, and I feel terrible for hurting them back then. I want to make things anew, and I am sorry, but I am not giving up my little one for you or anyone!” Kirai growled out, placing her hand over her belly.
Scoffing, Miyo couldn’t believe how difficult everyone was being. She knew her demands were very – well demanding – but that was beside the point. She needed to make sure her place in the Taisho family wasn’t in jeopardy. Her very own family had disowned her, and she needed to find a security net. What better place than being the wife of Take Taisho. But now, with her current state, she was sure to lose her position and no one was wanting to help her.
Feeling outrage by the betrayal, she grabbed Kirai by the arm and drug her towards the room where the miko was placing her items for the upcoming ritual. “Miyo-san! What are you doing? Let me go!” Kirai shouted out.
“She will be the catalyst.” Miyo mentioned to the miko before them. An older lady in her mid-fifties, who shared her gift and abilities with the darkness of the world. “I want a transfer, now! Transfer the baby that is in my sister, and place it in me! And this one in me will be transferred to her.”
“Miyo! What are you doing? I won’t allow you to do this!” Suddenly, a sharp pain was felt on the back of her neck and she fell into Miyo’s arms. Walking up from behind, the miko grabbed a lock of Kirai’s hair and smiled over to Miyo.
“I will make sure she doesn’t remember this night. She will only believe that she had a miscarriage from natural causes.” The miko whispered softly, her voice ragged and deep from years of living. “The spell will be complete the second her hair is burned in the center of the alter. Now, there is no going back. Miyo, the child you give birth to, will forever be your sister’s. He will not share your blood in the sense of mother and child.”
“He?” Miyo asked, ignoring everything else the witch spewed out.
“The child I sense is a boy. Same as the one inside of you.” The miko smirked.
“And what of her’s?” She lifted her friend up, showing the small round belly that protruded to visibility.
“A little girl.” The miko chuckled. “Which will be perfect for the ritual. The blood of an innocent is always worth everything, but the blood of an innocent girl is the most precious. Their pure heart and gift of giving life, well, you can’t go wrong with a spell after that.”
“Just do it. I want it done already!” Miyo shouted out, dropping her friend to the ground as she walked over to the alter with the miko. “You sure she won’t remember what happened here tonight?”
“Positive.”
Present Time
Kagome felt him nearby. It took everything within her to not just run over to him and grab him tightly. As much as she wanted to do this, she knew she had to give him a little space. So much was going on, and with Miyo on the loose, it was hard for anyone to catch a break. Besides, her mother needed her the most right now. She never seen her mom so furious, and she was certain she heard a few cuss words as well, which was interesting to say the least. The image of a perfect mommy dearest with a kind heart almost flew out the window.
“I don’t care if that is the case of not. She needs to have justice brought to her!” Hana stated, slamming her small fists against the table where the elder clan and the others sat. “She has gotten away with so much bull crap; I can’t believe you haven’t taken care of her already!” She turned to Natsu, who everyone knew had the ability to make people ‘disappear’, apparently.
“Hey, hey!” He defended. “I will have you know that my line of work is strictly no killing! That would be the yakuza or the Hayashi Family that would make people vanish.” He mumbled, putting Satomi on the spot.
Hana looked over to her niece with a dumfound expression. “She is only a girl though. How is she capable of do such things?” She noticed quickly as everyone’s gaze fell to Satomi. She brought her own gaze to Daisuke. “Is this what you do? Make it look like your daughter oversees stuff, when really it’s you?”
“Hana-san, Satomi is in charge of that line of work. Since she turned thirteen, she has been in training to take over my place as the rightful heir to the Hayashi Industries. When she turned fifteen, she had the ability to ruin people’s life with a single signature, and even make people vanish with the help of some family clans. My daughter is not a little girl anymore.” Daisuke stated, feeling a bit nerved that his little girl had to grow up fast all because he got worried.
Sadness creeped into Hana’s heart, and she turned to her niece. “All this time, you had to grow up and clean up any mess that the elders did?” She whispered, placing a hand on Satomi’s. “But you are so young…”
“I am also an heiress, Aunty.” Satomi smiled softly, knowing the sadness that Hana was feeling for her. She wished her life would have been different. She always envied her cousin for having a normal childhood, but that just was not her life. She was served a different platter with different items, and each on continued to bring her closer and closer to be a true heir. In case if anything happened to her father, she had to take the stand and be prepared for anything. “Trust me, I accepted my role and I don’t hold any resentment.”
Nodding in understanding, she gave her niece a hug before pulling away and going back to the meeting at hand. “So, what is the plan?” Hana whispered, feeling completely out of place in the room with people who had titles and wealth.
“Is the death sentence on her head still up?” Hiro asked, sipping his hot tea while playing chess with Shippo in the back of the room.
“No. It was dropped five months ago, when we all assumed she died since she wasn’t heard from again.” Byakuya informing the eldest member of the clans.
“Do we have anyone who may help with taking care of the garbage than?” Hiro asked, chuckling as he checked Shippo. “Checkmate, little fox.”
“Oh, come on Gramps. I really practiced hard this time only to have you out do me again.” Shippo chuckled.
“I can go.” A voice called out from the other side of the room, a door opening to reveal Inuyasha, Sesshomaru and Naraku. “I have experience in getting into places and taking care of business. I can take her out, if that is what is needed.”
“I will have you do no such thing!” Natsu shouted out, rising from his seat and staring his son down. “Why would you even volunteer like that? Haven’t you learned nothing from the last incident with the yakuza? Sado’s gang placed you in the hospital! I almost lost you!”
“But you didn’t.” Naraku shot back, trying to make a point that he could very well handle his own.
“No! As long as I live, you will not go out on some vendetta and get yourself killed! We have professionals we can send out to take care of Miyo.” Natsu shut his son down once more, offering more solutions like the professionals they would hire for more private work.
“We are seriously talking about killing someone. Aren’t we going to try and bring her to justice first? Why should we immediately go for the kill?” Shiyoii asked, always bringing the law and rules back into play. “It is not our job to jump the gun and kill someone because we have so much against them. We bring them to court and have them trialed. Unless given exact notice from the Yokai Emperor himself, which he currently is not here, we can’t place the law in our arms. We must notify the law enforcements, and notify Take Taisho. Because she is a yokai, she should be brought to trial unless her death is warranted.”
“She does have a death sentence on her head that her father sent out last year.” Natsu stated.
“But it was dropped five months ago.” Tatsu added, remembering Byakuya’s information from earlier.
“So, what do we do now? She won’t come to us easily. She will fight, and chances are, she probably has her own army ready to fight against us.” Hana added.
Suddenly, voices were heard from outside the room. A loud crash was followed by Jak’s yelling. Rushing out of the room, they all watched in confusion as Jak sat on the floor with a cauldron on his head while an older version of Sesshomaru stood with fried noodles all over his expensive suit. Take Taisho brushed off the noodles, and looked down to see the young male on the floor dressed in girly clothing. “I take it you are my son’s boyfriend? Girlfriend?” Take asked, offering his hand to help the boy up.
Fear creeped into Jak’s face as he lifted the cauldron off his head and looked up to see Inuyasha’s father. Swallowing hard, he wasn’t sure what to say. He knew Inuyasha hadn’t come out the closet yet to his father, and he didn’t want to get his boyfriend in trouble. “Uhh… uhm..” He couldn’t speak. He was speechless.
“Relax, kid. I am not going to condemn you or my son. Now, hurry up and grab my hand before I get annoyed.” Take demanded, watching the young male reach up to grab the offering. He quickly pulled the kid up, and dusted him off from other food particles. “Where is my son? Actually, where are my children?”
Speaking up in a sheepish tone, Inuyasha walked over to the two. “Hey pops. Long time no see.”
Take looked over to see his youngest son and smiled brightly. “It has been very long! So, this is the boyfriend, right?”
Everyone just stood still. This must be a joke. Take Taisho was against homosexuality, wasn’t he? Or did everyone just assume?
“Yeah…” Inuyasha replied, feeling very nervous about the entire ordeal.
Take just stood there, not saying a single word but just staring with intimidation at his son. What felt like hours passing by, only a shy few seconds flew. “I am disappointed in you.” Those were the iced words Inuyasha had been expecting. He was waiting for the pain that would follow with every word of how he was an abomination and disgust and shame to the Taisho Family. “How could you do this to me? When I found out about this, I was almost reluctant to believe that my little boy – my sweet precious boy – would hide something this big from me.”
“Dad, I’m sorry. I don’t…” He couldn’t even finish his words as he looked over to Jak and saw the tears forming in his eyes. Inuyasha felt sick to his stomach, and even though he stood up to the school and most of society by not giving a fuck if he was gay – his father was the only one who made him feel disgusting. He felt shame in his acts. “I will change father.” He whispered, seeing Jak shaking and turning away to walk to the kitchen.
“Why is he leaving?” Take asked, looking between the two boys and seeing his son looking down with shame and the other leaving away with tears. “And change what? Your clothes?”
Blinking in confusion, Inuyasha cleared his throat and shook his head. “No, I assumed you were upset that I am gay. I was apologizing and stating that I will change.”
It was Take’s turn to stare in shock which lead to him laughing hysterically. “What? I don’t care that you are gay! Your mother was bisexual, and even had a few girlfriends before she dated me. Trust me, I do not care if my son is gay.”
“Mom was bi?” Both the brother then stepped in, asking in a shocked unison as they stared dumbfounded by the news.
Shrugging his shoulders, he patted his youngest son’s shoulders and smiled. “Go and fix this issue with your boyfriend. I was just upset that my little boy, who told me everything since he was could talk, never spoke of this. It was surprising for me, and it made me wonder if I was truly that terrifying.”
“Well, the boys do have a reason to be afraid of you, Take-san.” A voice called out from the group, revealing a similar looking male only with black hair and blue eyes walked up front. “Since we were kids, you were always the serious one and abided every rule father gave us. It truly is a surprise that you are not as close minded and bigoted as we all thought you to be.”
Words couldn’t form on Take’s lips as he looked up to the one man he never thought he’d see again. It had been several years since they last spoke, and ever since Tatsu left town, Take never been the same again. He blamed himself for not being strict with Miyo and removing her from their lives right then and there – but there was the whole fact that they are married and mated, and he would be damned if she took half or everything from him; meaning his children.
“You son of a bitch, I can’t believe you are here.” Take stated, walking up to his brother with a smirk on his face. Grabbing the extended hand Tatsu revealed, he pulled his brother into a brotherly embrace and chuckled brightly. “It’s been to long brother.”
“Careful now, that’s our mother you are speaking of.” Tatsu chuckled, hugging his brother back and nodding in agreement. “I don’t plan on leaving again. It’s time, brother. She needs to be rid of permanently.”
Knowing who she was, there was no point in hiding the fact that the bitch needed to be taken care of. He always heard rumors from his servants that Miyo abused Sesshomaru, but without the definite proof, he couldn’t do anything. The court would rule it out as petty rumors. So, he spent his time away from home, fibbing about being on a business trip to Dubai. He placed tapes all over her office, and hidden cameras. When he finally received them back when she left the mansion, he saw it all. He had never felt so much rage in his heart and mind then now – and all he wanted was her blood as he ripped her to shreds for hurting his son.
Even finding out that Sesshomaru was not even her real son, but in fact, Mina’s was all he could do but want the bitch dead. As he pulled away from his brother, he looked over to his eldest son and gave a sad smile. For all the years, his son was abused, he should have saved him. He should have gone with his gut instinct and taken Miyo out. It would have saved Sesshomaru the trauma of living with a vile woman.
Walking over to his son, feeling the hesitation in the air, knowing the look on Sesshomaru’s face. Yes. – Take thought – I know, my son. But he would never say it out loud for others to hear. The humiliation that his boy has lived with was already torturing enough. He felt sick to his stomach, having the knowledge that he knows now, and knowing there was nothing he could do to stop the pain he experienced all that time. But he now has the power to stop it from happening again.
“Father…” Sesshomaru whispered, almost bowing in respect out of habit.
Stopping him mid-bow, Take looked his son in the eyes and felt his heart break. The one son he needed to be closer to was Sesshomaru, and he kept a distance due to the woman he thought gave birth to him. He was so afraid that if anything were to happen, he would lose his son if she were to leave. He didn’t want to grow attached to a pup that would only be taken away from him, but he now realizes how foolish that was.
Take had always trained his son to be cold and calculated, and to never show the emotions on the outside. Oh, how stupid that was now that he realized how much anguish his boy has suffered. And to forever cast a mask on that perfectly sculpted face was even more devastating. “I am sorry, my son.” Take whispered, feeling his own voice cracking with the raw emotion. “I should have protected you. I should have saved you.”
Tears were now forming from the Yokai Emperor, and Sesshomaru felt his own heart breaking at the sight of his father showing this much emotion. Sesshomaru wasn’t sure how to handle this situation, but it was the first time he felt a parent’s love.
Grabbing his son into a tight hug, he felt the tears pouring out as he felt Sesshomaru shake from finally letting go. “You don’t have to be strong anymore, son. I am here. I know. And I promise she will never hurt you again.”
Gripping tightly to his father, Sesshomaru finally felt the weight on his chest being lifted off and he softly cried against his father’s shoulder. All the years of his torment, he thought he would feel shame and humiliation, but that was not the case at all. He felt happiness and relief, and for once he felt safe with family.
When they finally pulled away, they noticed everyone left the hallway to give the two privacy. Wiping away their tears, Take looked over to his son and smiled. “I am sorry I was never there to protect you, my son.”
“It is in the past now, father. What lies ahead will be what we do with Miyo.” Sesshomaru stated, clearing his throat so that no evidence of his breaking was noticed to anyone.
“She isn’t your mother.” Take informed.
“I know, Naraku told me. Seems Tatsu already knew, hence why he returned to bring Miyo to justice.” Sesshomaru replied.
“There is no justice for evil. She will meet her fate at the tip of a blade, and I refuse to have it any other way.” Take stated fiercely. “She will reap what she sowed, and nothing will stand between that victory.”
