Negotiations with the Devil

Summary: Enough is enough. One can only take being second choice for so long.
So Kagome comes up with a plan to make Inuyasha jealous by acting like she�s interested
in someone else. But what she never expected was that she would find herself becoming attracted
to that person nor that she would suddenly be responsible for ending a battle that had started
centuries ago and with her own curse and time limit on her life on top of that...... M/K ficcy!!!

Disclaimer: Well....I just had about 4 malt coolers. Yea I know that isn't much to make anyone go crazy but I also had a beer,
Every day I have more then my daily allotment of caffeine and I'm naturally crazy. So yea...... Insanity is to come. Lots of
it. Oh...And nope. I don't own it. Wish I did, But Inuyasha isn't mine. Miroku isn't either but in my imagination he is! ^_~

Lady A Walks up to stare right into readers face. *Well.....Amy can't be here right now because.........Ahem!...Her husband read the last
chapters funny ending.....And now (Puts hand up to mouth and whispers) Amy thinks I had something to do with it......But I
didn't(Looks back and fourth guiltily).....Honestly I didn't. But stubborn as she is, Amy is after me so I had to interfere on
my own behalf and lock her up.*

Amy, Banging against cell bars with a cup *Let me outta here!*

Lady A'sigh'....*For what? So you can kill me? Don't think so...*

Amy, With smoke coming out of ears *You can at least provide some company for me.....*

Lady A ,Perks up instantly *Alrighty then!* Walks up to Inuyasha and grabs him by the arms. *Here ya go!* Throws Inuyasha into the
cell.

Inuyasha hits the brick wall roughly. *At least Amy's here with me.....*

Amy, Grabbing on to cell bars *Speak for yourself. Lady....He isn't exactly who I had in mind....*

Lady A, Rubs back of neck thoughtfully *Well I know for sure you value your life so it's not Miroku who you have in mind. Oh!
I see..* Grabs Sesshomaru and throws him in with Amy.

Before Lady can close the cell door Sesshomaru throws Inuyasha out.

Miroku smirks but tries to hide it with his hand. *Seems no one wants you....*

Inuyasha shoots up and points Tetsusaiga at Miroku.
Lady A crosses arms. *Inuyasha.........*

Tune in to end off chapter for Inuyasha's deat....Ummm, Punishment. Yeah.

Chapter 3: A major change in tactics.......

Kagome wanted to die. She wanted very badly to be killed. Or at least kill somebody. And that certain somebody was at the moment pulling her
along at an unforgivable pace and yapping her head off as if she would never shut up. Which she probably wouldn't. Yup, Guessed
right.

Erri.

Why had Kagome told her again? Oh yeah, Helpful 'war' tactics. Kagome could still remember the hell that had broken lose the moment
she had told Erri.

[Flashback]

Kagome waited impatiently at their regular lunch table inside the student cafeteria. Ten minutes had passed when Ayumi walked into
the cafeteria with books in her arms. Like always.

Ayumi sat down in front of Kagome and studied her for a few minutes as if Kagome was some sort of failed science experiment. "So which
one of your diseases took hold of your mind? Obviously you have lost it if you're asking Erri for a favor. She will turn whatever it is
upside down before she even begins to help you".

And yes, Kagome knew it was true. As the saying goes, Desperate times call for desperate measures.

She was using Miroku as her new 'suitor', What more could Kagome due to prove how desperate she was?

The lunch doors opened and in walked Erri. Erri, Who was hanging very amiably over some senior. A good looking senior who by
the looks of it was all caught up in Erri's tangled web. That's why Kagome had asked for Erri's help. She NEEDED those kind of
ummm...Well, skills.

Yes as sad as if was to say it, Kagome was as clueless as a baby when it came to seduci....(Embarrassed cough)Flirting with boys.

Erri bid farewell to her new beau before heading towards the table where Ayumi and Kagome were seated. With a big smile on her face, Erri sat down next
to Ayumi and turned hungry eyes on Kagome. "Soooo, What is it? 'Cause I'll have you know that it's been eating at me since you told me". Erri got
comfortable in her seat and tried to wait patiently for Kagome to begin.

It had been eating at Kagome as well but not in the same way that it had been eating Erri. Kagome knew how much her friends disapproved of Inuyasha. Not
that they knew much about him but the little they did know had been enough for them to brand him as a jealous psycho path. So unwillingly she would have
to enter into the first part of her 'transformation' in order to get Erri to agree. Kagome would have to do something she had never done before in her life. She would
have to lie. Or at least try to since she had absolutely no idea how to lie.

"Well you see", Kagome began faking nervousness. Ok, So maybe she wasn't faking it. But it would go good with her tall tale. "I've gotten over that guy I used
to have a thing for." Before she could go any further two pairs of very big brown eyes were right in her face.

"Really!?", They yelled simultaneously.

"That's great!", Ayumi yelled clasping her hands in approval.

"So those that mean you're gonna give Houjo-san a chance?!", Erri yelled loud enough to interfere with satellite communications.

The whole lunch room turned shocked eyes towards the mostly empty table were they sat.

Kagome had decided. She was going to convert to Buddhism since God had long ago stopped listening to her pleas.

"No ERRI", Kagome seethed as she banged her forehead against the table. "Can I at least finish before you have another heart attack?".

Erri blinked silently. Bobbing her head up and down she sat down quietly and folded her hands in front of her on the desk. A sign that clearly yelled that she
was trying to keep herself in check.

"I.....I noticed that I have a thing for this other guy", Kagome began with her forehead still on the table. She clearly heard Ayumi have to restrain Erri from jumping
up in glee. When they both went quiet again she continued. "But you see.....He too has a thing for this other girl. And...And...She is prettier and more feminine
than I am. I want him badly thou...No! I mean I care for him deeply!", Kagome yelled looking up. Her face went bright red when she saw her two friends nodding
theirs heads slyly. Oh lord, At least they were believing her lie. But of all the things to say she said that she wanted hi.....

Nope, She refused to think about it.

"Go on", Erri said calmly. (CALMLY!) With a great amount of discipline she nodded her head and waited patiently.

"Like I said, She is so much more beautiful than me." Which in Kagome's opinion, Sango was much more prettier then Kagome could ever hope to be. "And he
seems to have a thing for her but she doesn't encourage his advances. So what I'm trying to say is....Erri will you teach me how to make guys want me?", Kagome
asked quietly. The things she did for Inuyasha's love.....

And that was when the hell had broken lose. A hell so evil, Kagome doubted Naraku could cause something like it. Erri had begun yapping her head off at a
volume so frightening it could be heard blocks away from the school. Thank Buddha, Yes Buddha, That she had said it all so fast no one understood her.

[End Flashback]

So Kagome was back to her previous predicament. She still had no idea whatsoever what it was Erri had in mind to do with her. Ayumi, That traitor, Was going along with
everything Erri was saying. Which amazed Kagome to no end. She knew she was absent from class a lot but never in her very overactive imagination had she
seen this coming. Not only that, Ayumi being the smart person that she was, Was somehow UNDERSTANDING everything Erri was saying. Which also amazed
Kagome because she doubted that even Inuyasha could understand that woman at the moment.

No, Scratch that. Not even somebody who knew every language on the planet could understand her because obviously Erri had just invented her own.

Suddenly they came to a halt and Kagome looked curiously at the big sign in front of her. What she read could only be described as a death sentence for her
because there was no way in hell.......

"My auntie Mina works here!", Ayumi said smiling at Kagome. "She'll give you a new look so amazing, You'll look as if you had surgery of some kind."

Naraku had invaded the 20th century and taken possession of Ayumi's body. It was the only logical explanation for the sign in front of her that read, 'Mina's
Hair Studio'.

Oh no, No, NO.......

"Inuyasha, Go get her back!", Shippou yelled at the top of his lungs.

"Get away from me brat. She'll come back, She always does", Inuyasha said from his seat outside Kaede's hut.

"But what if this time you pushed her so far that she doesn't!?" Shippou asked frantically.

Kaede, Miroku and Sango exchanged worried glances from within the hut. Shippou had just voiced their fear. Kagome had left very angry that time. The argument
between Inuyasha and her had proved that much.

"Kagome's not here to save the poor kit so if I don't do it, Shippou will die young", Sango said standing up with a sigh. Really, With all that yelling Inuyasha was
doing Kagome would probably hear him in her time and come back just to sit him.

Kaede watched through her small black eye as Sango walked out of the hut. She turned that eye on the monk who was peacefully drinking tea once she was
sure that Sango was out of hearing range. "Is it true what Shippou told me? That Inuyasha got into an argument with Kagome because he was jealous of you?".

Miroku choked on his tea. Through his fit of coughing he promised himself that...that little traitor.....would die. "Lady Kaede, I assure you...."

"Save it Houshi", Kaede said while tending to the fire. "I don't need an explanation. Just don't brake the girl's heart more than it already has been." And just like that,
She went back to her business as if she had never spoken.
Miroku sat there confused. Lady Kaede was clearly misinterpreting the whole situation. Brake the girl's heart more than it already had been? Kagome didn't feel
that way about him. She was in love with Inuyasha and he....He hadgo tgo to think about. All though she did not seem the least bit interested in him, Miroku
was willing to keep on trying. At least as long as they traveled together. Did he love Sango? No, But he felt strongly towards her. In time it could be more. That
he was sure of.

But the way Kagome had felt in his arms.....

"Inuyasha leave him alone!!".

"NO way! Come here you brat, Kagome isn't here to save you now!".

"But I am! HIRAIKOTSU!!".

Ahhh, Finally. Someone else who felt the pain of the evil thing other than himself....

"Umm Erri, Ayumi. I'm not sure about this. I don't even think my mom would allow me to do something like this", Kagome said hesitantly as she was pulled by Erri
and pushed by Ayumi into the salon.

"I'll call your mom from Ayumi's aunt phone and I'll personally speak to her. Now enough with this nonsense, You asked for my help and I'm giving it." Erri
forced Kagome to sit in the waiting area as she ove over to the phone. Ayumi went looking for her aunt Mina while Kagome prayed to Buddha that her mom
said no. What was she saying? Of course her mom would say no. Her mom was loyal like that.....

"Really Higurashi-Sama? So you don't mind that Kagome get's a make over? Anything she wants to do to herself? Great! Thank you so much."

Or not. Apparently Buddha wasn't any better than God. What would she have to do to make things go HER way for once? Sell her soul to the devil?

EEP! No! Scratch that.

Ayumi came back with a tall, Black haired woman in toe. Erri clapped her hands together while nodding her head. "Her mom said yes! Wow, Kagome. You
have such a cool mom", Erri said looking at the wide eyed girl.

"I'm glad YOU think so", Kagome said feeling as if her would had begun to end. Which, By the way, It had.

"Kagome, This is my aunt Mina. Mina this is my friend Kagome", Ayumi said smiling.

Kagome let go of her self wallowing long enough to smile at Ayumi's kind looking aunt. "Nice to meet you."

Ayumi's aunt looked Kagome over with wide eyes. "My, What a pretty girl! From what Ayumi tells me, You want to impress a guy. When I'm done with you,
All the men in Tokyo will be after you!", The woman said clapping happily. Kagome could only stare ahead wide eyed as Ayumi and Erri lifted her up and into
one of the salon's chairs. When Kagome was finally able to snap out of it, Mina was running her hands through Kagome's hair and looking at the mirror thoughtfully.
"You have a lot of hair. And it's so soft and healthy. It's perfect....How about a different color?", Mina asked tilting her head.

A different color? A brief image of herself blond flashed in her mind making her eep. "I'm...no...not so sure about that", Kagome stuttered nervously.

Mina gave her a small smile. "Nothing to drastic mind you. Like....Dark brown. It would go perfectly with your eyes. I can even give you a brown hue so dark
that it would look kind of black except for when the sun hits it." Mina continued hinghing her fingers through Kagome's hair.

Well, That didn't sound too bad. Brown, But dark enough to look like her normal hair color. Of course, Once she went back through the well the others would
notice the change immediately since there was nothing but sun most of the time. Yet......It would still look black out of the sun so it didn't sound too bad at all.

Kagome nodded her head slowly and watched as Mina's face brightened. "It's gonna be a hard task, Since you're hair is very black and you've never dyed it before.
And your hair looks absolutely beautiful long. But it covers your face too much. Such a pretty face shoudn't be covered. Maybe we could do something with
the front so that it no longer covers your hair. Let's see. Your hair is soft and wavy......How about soft layers? I'll tame your bangs so that they fall softly to one side
of your forehead and I take off just a tiny bit of hair off here and there in the front so that it layers into waves." (Lady A: Think Jennifer Aniston people!)

Kagome couldn't picture it for that life of her but she was already letting Ayumi's aunt dye her hair, Why not let her tame it? Again she nodded her head. Mina tilted
her head back making Kagome look her in the eye. Mina rubbed both of Kagome's eyebrows with her index finger while studying them. "You have beautiful eyebrows
but they're very low unless you raise them and that makes them cover your eyes. We can do your eyebrows so that they curve up a little more so that it opens your
eyes up", She said making Kagome look at the mirror again.

Kagome gave another nod all the while looking in the mirror. How much bigger did her eyes have to get? They were practicably headlights already. But, This woman
was a professionalist, Yet would the make over be enough too make her look better? At least good enough for Inuyasha to notice? Hopefully, If not she knew of one person who would die for it.
Through the mirror she sent a warning glare at Ayumi who slumped back behind Erri.

An hour later Kagome had gotten to momentarily see herself as a blond after her hair had been bleached. Mina had said that her hair would not grab the color
if she did not bleach it. Kagome just stared at the mirror in awe as Mina began mixing the brown hair dye to put in her hair. Her head burned like hell, She had
a headache, And her lungs hurt from breathing in the bleaches fumes. But, Kagome tilted her head to the side, She didn't look THAT bad as a blond. Mina had even
bleached her eyebrows so that she could dye those too. Besides, Her hazel eyes went perfectly with the blond hair. The only problem being that Kagome could
not imagine herself living as a blond.

So it was with great relief that Kagome watched as Mina began to apply the dark brown hair dye to her hair. She almost died when Mina told her she would be
going under the dryer again for an hour an a half. While under the immense heat of the dryer her thoughts were once again drawn to cans of rat poison.

"Ok, Now we have to cut your hair a bit", Mina said while helping a pink cheeked Kagome out of the dryer. The poor girl looked like she was burning.

Kagome let Mina lead her to the hair washer. She sighed in relief when she felt the cool water on her burning scalp. Kagome had no doubt that her head was burned beyond repair.
It sure felt like it was.

When Mina instructed her to close her eyes so that she could wash her eyebrows, Kagome did so. She wasn't able to open them again, What with drying her face and all so that no hair
dye got in her eyes, Until she was once again seated in the salon chair. Mina was drying her hair with a towel and Kagome looked at the mirror quizzically. At first she
thought that maybe the hair dye had not grabbed on to her hair because it seemed as if it had never been dyed. At least she wasn't blond anymore though.

"Don't worry about it. Your hair is wet right now. Once it's dry you'll be able to see the slight change", Mina said as if reading her thoughts. She stopped toweling Kagome's hair
and grabbed a pair of scissors. Mina made Kagome look down and flipped her hair of her head.

For the next few minutes all Kagome was able to see were small pieces of her hair falling on to the floor as Mina snipped them off. A few minutes later her head was
flipped back so that all Kagome could see were the bright lights of the ceiling. Again, More snipping.

When Mina was done she ran her hands through Kagome's hair. Seven minutes later all of Kagome's hair excepts her bangs was in rolls. Mina grabbed a bottle with clear liquid
and squirted it all over her hair. "It's a new formula. It's a cross between a relaxer and a perm so that it'll make your hair relaxed, But still wavy. It should last like that for six months
but make sure to not wash your hair for at least 24 hours after this." Mina placed a net securely over Kagome's hair and then grabbed another bottle with clear liquid. "This one
is a straight up relaxer since your bangs are a bit too puffy. This will make sure the your bangs stay to the side at all times unless you do them back", She said while carefully
applying the liquid on Kagome's bangs. She grabbed one more hair roll and twisted her bangs sideways into the roll.

Kagome swore to never do anything like getting a make over ever again. And she did mean, EVER again. She was already sweating like a pig when Mina put her back
under that hell machine, The hair dryer. The next 25 minutes were the slowest, Most hell filled 25 minutes of her life. Mina took her out of the dryer and told her that she
didn't need to go under the dryer again. Hallelujah.........

Kagome was seated in a recliner chair. Mina reclined her and used a white make-up pencil to trace the new shape for her eyebrows. She applied hot wax to Kagome's eyebrows
one at a time. It actually felt kind of nice to Kagome when Mina was placing the adhesive strips to her eyebrows and rubbing her fingers over them. But when she went ahead and pulled.....

'GOD!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!???'

Kagome wasn't able to open her eyes again for another 5 minutes. When she managed to open her eyes again Mina had taken the rolls out of her hair and.....

"Is that me?", Kagome whispered looking at the girl in the mirror. Oh my........

Mina gave her a small smile and took a step back. Her niece Ayumi and Erri took slow steps towards the newly transformed girl with wide eyes.
Kagome came to a very quick conclusion. Beauty was worth the pain. For the first time in her entire life Kagome could actually say that she felt pretty. No,
Beautiful. Her hair was in layered waves around her face and flowing elegantly down her shoulders. The bright lights of the salon allowed her to barely see the
brown hues in her hair which made it have a much healthier glow then it ever had. Her bangs indeed where straightened to the side falling over one eyebrow.

Kagome, Amazed beyond imagination, Pushed her bangs out of the way and looked at the new shape of her eyebrows. They did open up her eyes but not in the
way that she had expected. They made her eyes look more prominent on the sides, More cat like then round.

"Ka....Kag....Kagome", Erri began shakily. "You look........."

"Older", Kagome said still studying herself in the mirror. Yes, She looked at least 2 years older. As if she was seventeen. Kagome exchanged a look with Ayumi
and Erri through the mirror and then...

They all gave a loud scream and began jumping up and down in each other's arms.

"Oh my god!!! Wait till Yuka sees you!!", Erri screamed as they hugged each other. The girls weren't even aware that they were causing a spectacle. Frankly,
They didn't care.

Kagome pulled away from the girls and flung herself at her new God. Ayumi's aunt. "Thank you so much!!!", She said hugging Mina tightly.

Mina gave a low laugh. "Don't mention it. You look amazing. Now get out there and show that guy, Whoever he is, What's good for him."

And believe you me, That's exactly what Kagome was going to do.

Four hours later, And hundreds of dollars out of Erri's pocket, Her parents were rich after all, Kagome sat down on her bed heavily. Ayumi and Erri were both on the
carpeted floor in front of her searching through the endless amount of shopping bags.

Her family had a heart attack when they saw her. Kagome's mom had gotten this proud, Astonished look on her face. A look Kagome had never seen and it made her
glad. Souta, He now idolized her as the second most prettiest girl next to his soon to be girlfriend. (Girlfriend!?) She sighed remembering the conversation they had had.
Soon even Souta would have somebody. But so would Kagome because she was going to make sure that she hadn't gone through all that god damned trouble for nothing.

"OK so we got you, Lingerie, Including push up bras. Thongs, Which I can't believe you didn't own any until now. And sexy clothes. You should were that little white
summer dress we got you when you first go to see your new crush. Where ever it is he lives. That dress looks really comfortable and the soft material looks so hot
on you. It makes your ass look huge!", Erri said looking at Kagome. She tilted her head to the side when she saw her friend sitting there with wide eyes and a red face.

Ayumi sweat dropped. "Kagome, She's right the dress does look nice but Erri, Could you please put things in a much cleaner way?", Ayumi asked while cringing.

Kagome nodded numbly, Not knowing what the hell was next. They had come over to her house for a reason. Meaning, Erri was no where near done with her.

"Now!", Erri said standing up. "I'm going to teach you the art of seduction, Or flirting which ever way you wanna call it!".

Inuyasha was going to pay for making her do this............

Shippou paced the hut back and forth looking angrily at the hanyou sitting at the other end every once in a while. "It's been 4 days Inuyasha! She's not going to come
back unless you go get her!", He yelled jumping on Inuyasha.

"He's right. It seems that this time she's not going to......" Miroku stopped in his up and coming lecture when he heard a familiar voice.

"Hey! I'm back!".

"Kagome!." Shippou jumped off Inuyasha and ran out of the hut. They all clearly heard when he came to an abrupt halt. "Kagom.......?"

Miroku followed Shippou outside and promptly reverted back to his infant years where he did not know how to walk.

"Monk, Move out of the way. Why aren't you walking?", Inuyasha said stepping out of the hut.

Sango who had followed him froze as well as they all looked at this angel(In Miroku and Inuyasha's opinion) who had come to them sounding like Kagome.

Amy*Walks up to the large whole in the ground* So....What did you tell Kagome to make her sit him that much....

Lady A*Pouting inside cell*Nothing......Just that you and him were together in here doing stuff.......

Everyone shrinks back against wall as fire flys out from Amy's eyes and towards Lady A.

Inuyasha*Jumping up and down in glee*...The bitch....The bitch....The bitch is on fire! We don't need no water....Let that motherfucker burn.....

Kagome....Inuyasha Sit!

Miroku.....You just proved how much you love me.

Kagome *Manually forces Miroku to sit.* I suppose I did.
