Chapter 2
~Lyra Kingdom~
“Oh, but Sango Vega, I don’t think I can wait a week!”
“But Vega you must, it takes much time to travel across the Heavenly River.”
“But Sango, I’ve fallen for him so quickly. I’ve never felt this way about anyone. It has all fallen into place, my fate had been decided for me as soon as I saw him.”
“And such a smart match too. Think of it, Altairs son and the daughter of Vega! By a strong bond of the stars, your souls must be bound as well.”
“It feels as though I’ll always love him. It will never die.”
“But Vega you just met him yesterday!”
“I know but it was destiny. I will take this slow, but I know this was meant to be.”
Sango talked to Kikyou, she hugged her stroking her long black hair. A page entered the room and told Kikyou that he parents wished her presence. She followed the page to a secluded room in the back hall. She sat on a red cushion and waited for her father to speak.
“Vega my daughter. Was the ceremony productive today?”
“Yes father, I met the prince of Aquilla Kingdom, and many others.”
“You put the Prince of Aquilla at the top priority, why?” asked her mothers soothing voice.
“Well, he was different. He thinks different; he is the son of King Altair. He held this ceremony because he needed to select a bride, so he can become king of his lands. He told me that he would wait until the heavens produced the perfect constellation bride for him. He is kind, and caring. I love him.”
“Is this the fate that was yours? Did you look into the Book of the Heavens?” asked her father.
“Yes father, it is destiny.” she replied slowly.
“Does he know of this fate?” her father took a long pause before going on, “If he doesn’t know then how can both kingdoms expect to find peace?”
“He does not know, we will next meet in 5 days I will tell him then.”
“Very good my daughter.” Her father rose from his chair, he was a tall man with long hair as dark as Vega’s, his eyes were as deep blue as the seas, his voice sounded rough but his touch, his soul was so kind and gentle. He knelt in front of her held his hand to her cheek.
“I am so proud of you, Vega.”
Vega thanked him and left the room.
