Little Surprises

So many thoughts wrenched through his mind, but there was no
time to think.  In a mere matter of hours he knew that he would
finally be a father.  Kaede yelled at Miroku and snapped him out of
his confused rush of a daze.

"Hand me that Towel Monk Miroku..." He grabbed for the towel and
knocked the water dish onto the ground...

"Damnit!"  He uttered.  Sango gave him a fierce
look of anger at his words.  Ever since she had became
pregnant she disapproved of anyone swearing around her child.  Even though she was yet to be born.  Kaede placed
the cool rag upon Sango's forehead and told her to try and refrain from
pushing.  Miroku ran to the door.  Peeking his head out he searched for them.  "Inuyasha!
Kagome! Shippo! the baby is coming... the baby is
Coming!"  As soon as he said the words, they appeared before
him.  Everyone looked as if they were excited... except
Inuyasha.

"What's the big fucking deal Miroku?"  Miroku glared at him
with a scowl that made Inuyasha jump from his skin.  "Geeze what the hell is your deal?"

"Inuyasha please... I need to ask you to refrain from the negative
words.  Sango does not want them to be uttered around this
child."  Inuyasha let out a hmph and crossed his arms.  He was sorry, but he
wasn't going to admit it.

"Miroku!"  Kaede pulled the monk
back into the room, and as the door swung open and shut, Inuyasha caught sight
of something so completely disgusting that his eyes went wide and he just
pointed.

"What is it Inuyasha?"  Kagome asked him.  Inuyasha
looked at her ridden in fear.

"Is that What is going to happen to you?" As
he spoke, his voice seemed to be stuck in a high pitch.  It sounded
funny and made Kagome laugh.

"Yup!"  She smiled gleefully...
"But Inuyasha, the outcome will be a beautiful baby,
that was created out of love from two souls.  As gross as it
may be you should remember... you were once a baby coming from your mother in
that manner."  He looked disgusted but just shrugged it
off.

Back inside the hut, Sango was pushing with all her
strength.  Clenching the Monks good hand in the process to match his
pain slightly to her own.  After a few more
pushes she felt the baby and fluids rush out of her.  As she heard
the sound of her child's cry, she closed her eyes and let her exhaustion have it's way with her.  Miroku giddily ran to hold his
child and cut its umbilical chord.  Sango's head rolled back and she
attempted to sit up so that she may look upon her child.  "She's
beautiful Sango!"  she smiled and
looked up at her houshi.

"She's ours..."  The light that instilled itself in her
eyes was that of which he lived for.  Kissing her forehead he ran to
get the others.  Inuyasha opted to stay outside.

"Where's Inuyasha?"  Sango inquired.

"Being stubborn, like usual." Kagome replied.  Just then,
as if almost on cue, the hanyou peeked his head inside
the hut.  Kagome ran over to him and pulled his
arm.  "Come on Inuyasha, come and meet
Anhakushi."  She paced herself over to Sango and she handed
Kagome the baby girl.  "Hold your arms out like this
Inuyasha..." she dictated him to hold his arms out for the
child.  When he complied, Kagome gently placed the cooing infant in
his arms.  "See... makes good practice!"  He
glared at her knowing eyes intently and a bit surprised.

"Practice?  Why am I
needing practice now?"  He let the child wrap her hand
around his finger and couldn�t help but smile.  Kagome laughed as
Inuyasha protested Miroku's attempt to pry the child from his
arms.  After a reluctant Inuyasha gave in, Miroku brought little
Anhakushi back to her mother.  Kagome cleared her throat to get
everyone's attention.

"Sango, Miroku, Inuyasha, Everyone... I just found out that I am
going to have a baby."  She turned to Inuyasha who looked
stunned and watched a smile forge across his face slowly before he ran to her
and scooped her up in his arms.

"Really?"  He said in a hushed
voice, he couldn�t believe it.  She nodded.

"Really... You are going to be a daddy too."

"Keh, come to think of it Miroku... the little whinny baby is kinda
cute..."  Miroku laughed... it was so jubilant that it almost
felt fake.  As if a dream would be shattered by a sound and he would
awaken.  They had all come so far from their journey, and it was so
difficult to conceive the idea that everything was done, that they were all
starting families and the lands were safe.

"Well, Inuyasha I am sure yours will be cuter... after all..." his
voice became childlike.� those cute little ears are drolly
genetic!"  There was a scowl on Inuyasha's part but Kagome
interjected, coming between the two men.

"That's what I am hoping.  Just like daddy."  She
kissed him, and for once everything was
perfect.
