Author Note: Wow! When I wrote this story I was not expecting so many reviews, but holy you guys made me so happy, so here’s another chapter! You are sure to enjoy this one! Only 11 more chapters to go.

Chapter Three

It had taken 3 months to repair the well. The damage that they had seen when first arriving upon the well was only a visual to how bad it actually was. The four walls off wood had been completely destroyed and burned, but that was not all of it. Inside the well stone had been broken, leaving the structure unsound and looking ready to cave in at any moment. Luckily the villagers were able to prevent the collapse from happening and after many long hours working on it the well turned out looking good as new.

The devastating part came when it was time for Kagome to go through it. Inuyasha had lowered her in the well so the fall wouldn’t be that long of a drop and as a precaution just in cause she couldn’t get through. Unfortunately that was the case. The well had stopped working and the young woman had just about lost her mind over it. After lashing out violently at the well that tore up the skin of her arms, hands, and even her feet and legs, she had become a silent shell of herself.

Every once in awhile her friends would find her missing from the hut and would search the entire village for her. It didn’t take them long to figure out where she would go and they would find her, curled up at the bottom of the well, rocking herself gently. Inuyasha would be the one to get her and carry her back to Kaede’s hut, only to have to do the routine the next day. The stress of not knowing what they could do for their friend, now homeless, was starting to get to them. Arguments had begun to break out, as they would try to find new ways to get Kagome to smile and be happy.

A month since learning she was stuck in this time her companions decided to help her cope with the situation by taking her out of the village. Their expectation being that if she was outside the village in the hopes of running across old friends and a change of scenery would cheer her up.

As they got ready to leave early one morning, Kagome was seen holding her stomach and wincing every so often. When anyone asked if she was all right, she nodded and insisted she was fine, passing the sharp pains off to being cramps. There was no way she was going to miss going on a trip with everyone after so long. While she had lost her family, she still had her friends in this time, and she was going to travel with them and be with them as much as she could. She would not be left behind anymore. That thought made her smile, before the well was destroyed her friends had been making a real effort to make sure she knew she had a place with them and had been comforting her since the well was broken. She felt she owed her friends and could only wonder how to repay them.

Kagome groaned as a sharp pain hit her and she clutched her sides as she followed everyone out of the hut. Out of the corner of her eye she could see the worried glance the kitsune boy sent her way “I’m fine Shippo, I promise”

“Why do you keep holding your stomach so much?” he asked.

“I just have cramps is all” she replied.

“I don’t remember you having cramps before,” said Sango as they walked through the village.

Kagome shrugged “it’s not impossible for it to happen”

Letting the matter slide they left the village in comfortable silence. An hour of walking in silence, Kagome noticed her cramps were growing stronger and more frequent. Miroku and Shippo were talking with the odd comments from Inuyasha while Sango was walking comfortably next to her. She attempted to walk normally and act like nothing was wrong with her, but she could feel herself beginning to sweat. As they walked a little more a particularly sharp stab of pain had her crying out and she would have fallen to the ground if the taijiya had not been there to catch her and lower her to the ground.

“Kagome!” Sango said, her voice catching the other’s attention.

Inuyasha’s eyes widened when he saw her on the ground, leaning against Sango and he quickly ran up to her “Kagome! Are you alright?”

“I just had a par-ouch!” she cried as she clutched her stomach.

Miroku frowned “I don’t think these cramps are normal we should get her to Kaede’s as quickly as we can”

“I’ll do it,” said the hanyou as he gently picked her up, causing her to whimper in pain just before she passed out from the pain “I’ll meet you guys there” and he took off.

~Dream~

“Damn it!” she cried. She knew she passed out, but even in her dream she could feel the pain as she sat in the grass, leaning up against a tree.

“I don’t believe I’ve ever heard you curse,” said a deep familiar voice as he approached.

“I don’t care about being proper!” she yelled, “I’m in bloody pain!”

His eyes widened slightly before he knelt down next to her “how long has this been happening?”

“What?” she asked before groaning in pain as tears slid down her face “this hurts so much!”

“Breathe, Kagome,” he ordered, “now when did the pain start?”

“This morning” she answered “it was only a little at first, but now…it’s so painful!”

Sesshoumaru placed a hand over her stomach “you need to wake up Kagome”

She cried as she took his hand “I’m scared, why does this hurt so much?!”

“Kagome, breath, you must breath calmly” he told her “I understand it hurts, but you must relax”

She screamed when a sharp pain hit her “make it stop!”

“It will stop soon” he soothed “but you must wake up”

“No, I’m too scared!” she sobbed before looking his way “I don’t want to go through this without you, I’m scared”

He kissed her forehead and then looked straight into her eyes “wake up and I will come to you”

She looked at him confused “what d-”

~End Dream~

“Thank goodness you’re awake,” said Kaede, relieved “now can you tell me what is wrong?”

Kagome groaned and cried, “my stomach, it hurts!”

Inuyasha watched as the girl curled into the fetal position, clearly in agony, he then looked at the old miko “what’s wrong with her?”

Sango then entered the hut, worry on her face “how is she?” her question was answered when the girl screamed.

“I am unsure” Kaede said “if only we could take her back to her time. They would surely be able to find out what is wrong with her”

Inuyasha was about to respond when felt a familiar presence and turned to look at the entrance of the hut. He then growled, “what the hell is he doing here?”

Sango was about to ask when Shippo then came running into the hut “Sesshoumaru is here! He’s in the village!”

The taijiya was shocked. The taiyoukai had never come close to this…or any other village let alone enter one. So the question that was left was, why was the western lord in this village “are you sure?”

“He’s sure” Inuyasha growled, “I can smell him”

Kagome, being in so much pain, hadn’t heard a word they’d said. The pain she felt was so intense now and only seemed to be getting stronger “make it stop!” she cried, unknowingly getting everyone’s attention once more.

Kaede frowned as she felt the distraught woman’s forehead before placing a warm cloth on the girl’s forehead “he couldn’t have picked a worse time to come and stir up trouble”

Miroku then entered the hut “he’s on his way here”

“Well I’ll just make him leave” the hanyou snarled, more than ready to fight.

“Inuyasha, now is not the time to go fighting” Kaede scolded, “Kagome is in need of attention, your brother can very well wait”

Kagome shouted again as another wave of pain hit her “make it stop! Please!” she cried out to them “it feels like I’m being torn apart!”

Kaede grew concerned as she watched the girl “I wish I knew what was wrong with her”

“She is in labor” came a smooth voice.

Everyone turned to the entrance of the hut to see the taiyoukai enter. Miroku took a step towards the full-blooded youkai “you know what is wrong with Kagome?”

Sesshoumaru narrowed his eyes “she is in the process of giving birth”

Inuyasha growled very low and mean, “what the hell do you mean?”

“Is child birth so confusing to you brother that you need it explained?” questioned the taiyoukai.

Kagome screamed out “dear god, make it stop!”

Kaede could see that the girl was clearly unaware of anything around her except the immense amount of pain she was in. She then turned back to the powerful youkai “I must know how you are sure that is what’s wrong with her?”

He merely turned his head to look at the old miko “it is my child”

Everyone gaped, but it was Inuyasha that started yelling “what the hell are you talking about?! Are you crazy or something? Does she look pregnant to you?! She doesn’t even smell pregnant!” he was raving.

“Help me please!” Kagome cried out before screaming, “PLEASE!”

“Inuyasha, monk” Sesshoumaru addressed, not taking his eyes off of Kagome “get out”

“Who the hell do you think you are?” Inuyasha exclaimed, “tell us what you know! What is going on?”

“Get out!” the taiyoukai turned to him with a snarl, his eyes flashing red for a second.

Miroku placed a hand on the hanyou’s shoulder “Inuyasha let us go outside, Kagome is in need of help and if Sesshoumaru knows what will help her than we should let him, we can get answers after we know Kagome is safe and well”

Wanting to argue, but also worried about their friend, Inuyasha nodded and walked with the monk to the hut door before pausing. He turned to glare at his brother “you harm Kagome and I’ll kill you”

“Leave” Sesshoumaru responded. Once he saw the two males followed by the kitsune leave he turned to look at the woman in pain and calmly approached her, kneeling down, he whispered into her ear so she would hear him through her pain “Kagome”

Kagome’s eyes opened and her hand immediately reached out to grab him, getting a grip on his pant leg. She looked at him confused and a bit in disbelief. Now she knew she was not a well girl, she was seeing the taiyoukai when there were people around and she knew she was awake. As she opened her mouth to speak she felt a stronger wave of pain to where she almost blacked out once more “dear god I can’t take this!”

“It’s almost over” he said quietly “I will be waiting outside”

Her grip tightened as she looked at him once more, hallucinating or not, she knew what she wanted “d-don’t leave me!”

He gently got her to let go of him “I must, men are not allowed when the female is giving birth”

“W-What?” she screamed as she felt yet another wave of pain. What the hell was he talking about? What was going on?

He stood looking to the miko and taijiya “take care of them” he ordered before leaving the hut. Outside he saw his brother pacing while the monk was sitting on a tree stump.

Inuyasha looked at his brother with a growl “you better explain what the hell is going on”

The taiyoukai did not answer and looked back at the hut where screams to be heard.

“Sesshoumaru-sama” Miroku said to try and get his attention “could you-would you mind explaining to us what is happening here?”

The taiyoukai spared him a glance “the woman is giving birth to my child”

“But how?” the houshi wanted to have clarified “Kagome has always been with us or has been home with her family. Surely you can understand our confusion as to how she could be pregnant and especially with your child when we haven’t seen you in well over a year”

“She doesn’t even smell pregnant” Inuyasha commented “doesn’t even look pregnant”

“Yet she is in the hut and she is giving birth to my child” Sesshoumaru stated.

Inuyasha growled darkly “If that is true, how? Tell me you bastard!”

“I used the same methods that were used to create you” he replied, calmly “I entered her dreams”

The hanyou’s eyes widened in shock “you what?” he did not know that his father had used dreams to get his mother pregnant. How was such a thing possible?

Miroku stood up from his stump “Inuyasha’s mother and father created Inuyasha through dreams?”

Sesshoumaru turned and faced the houshi “that is correct, how else do you think a princess got impregnated by a youkai when she was not allowed to leave the palace grounds unless heavily guarded?”

“I take it that using this method is not commonly used” the houshi determined. Never before had he heard of a youkai entering a woman’s dreams and the female actually getting pregnant.

The taiyoukai gave a single nod “it is rare and not frequently used. Only a powerful youkai such as myself are strong enough to attempt it”

“Attempt it?” Inuyasha wondered, “what do you mean?”

“It is a difficult feat to achieve” he replied, “much energy is required to enter a woman’s dreams and impregnate them. It is taxing on the youkai’s body. Any lesser youkai that tried would die”

“Why did you choose Kagome?” the hanyou asked, seriously, but he never got a response as the taiyoukai stared at the hut where screaming could be heard.

Meanwhile in the hut, Kagome was screaming and crying as the pain became unbearable. She just wanted the pain to stop. She felt hands on her as they made her lay on her back and then opened her legs.

Kaede knelt down on the ground, lifting the girl’s skirt and removing her blood soaked underwear before she gently stuck a figure into the girl and got the surprise of her life when she felt a mass inside the young woman “dear lord!”

Sango turned her gaze from where she had been staring at the bloody underwear to the old woman “what is it Kaede?”

“I don’t know if she is pregnant, but she does have something in her” the woman responded, turning her gaze to the crying girl, she spoke “Kagome you need to push to get it out”

“Wha-” she screamed “OW!”

Sango took her friend’s hand “Kagome take a deep breath and push when you’re told, understand?”

Kagome groaned, but nodded. She still didn’t fully understand what was going on, but if it would stop the pain she’d do anything. Taking a few deep breaths, she concentrated on the old miko’s voice and when she heard the words pushed, she pushed. After what felt like ages she began to feel a great amount of pressure at her opening.

“You’re almost there, child” said Kaede “deep breath and push!”

Crying out, she pushed and took a relaxing breath before pushing again.

“Alright Kagome, one more child and you’re free” Kaede said as she held the head of an infant. When the girl pushed for the last time the infant slid out into the miko’s hands “it’s a boy!”

Feeling the pain suddenly end, Kagome felt her head become clearer and she was able to be aware of all those around her now. Hearing the words of the old miko, she opened her eyes and looked at her friend “what?”

Sango smiled and used a cloth to wipe the sweat off her friend’s face “you just had a baby Kagome”

“N-No” she shook her head in a stunned state “I was not p-p-pregnant!”

“I know it’s hard to believe” Sango sympathized “but you did just have a baby”

Kaede wiped the baby boy down, giving the young thing a smack on the butt which had him crying and then she handed him to his mother “here’s your son”

Kagome held the baby, but she still could not believe it. She just had a baby? She had been pregnant a whole 9 months and had never noticed? She looked at the small, crying, bundle in her arms. She then recalled hearing Sesshoumaru’s voice and seeing him, grabbing his leg and telling him not to go. She looked at the two women “Sesshoumaru?”

Sango stood up “he’s waiting outside with Miroku and Inuyasha, you want me to call him in?”

Kagome nodded before turning her sights to her crying son, still confused how this happened. She noticed he had the trademark silver hair and from what she could see it looked like he had blue eyes, but didn’t have any markings except for a single crescent moon on his forehead. A minute later the taiyoukai entered the hut and the two woman left so they could have some privacy. She looked at him “you have a son”

He gave a nod, but said nothing.

“How did this happen?” she asked, deeply confused “why me?” after he was silent a moment she looked at him with a glare “answer me, I deserve to know how I gave birth to your son!”

In most cases she would have been cautious around the taiyoukai, but at the moment she didn’t care about anything, but getting her answers. She wanted to know how such a thing was possible and most importantly…what would happen now.

Sesshoumaru reached into his sleeve where his arm was missing and pulled out a very fluffy looking blanket. He walked over and knelt down “wrap him, he needs to be kept warm”

She nodded, taking the blanket and feeling that it was really as soft as it looked. Carefully she wrapped her baby in the blanket and smiled when he became quiet. Turning her head, she looked at the youkai next to her “I want answers, how did I get pregnant with your child?”

“You conceived when I knotted with you,” he answered.

“You’re lying” she stated “I have never had sex with you. I’ve never had sex with anyone”

He stared at her, his face blank and not showing any emotion “we’ve have, in your dreams”

She paled “what? How is that possible?”

“A powerful taiyoukai such as myself can enter another person’s dreams and get a female pregnant,” he explained as he looked at his son “it requires great concentration to enter another’s dream. Inuyasha was conceived using this dream method”

“He was?” she asked, shocked.

Sesshoumaru gave a nod “our father, as strong as he was, would never have gotten close to the princess, Inuyasha’s mother. He entered her dreams where they got to know each other and she eventually became pregnant”

Nodding to show she somewhat understood she then looked at him. Her voice cracking as she tried to stay strong, but deep down she was very upset and confused “why did you do this to me?”

“I was in need of an heir” he started to explain, “it was my plan to wait until I had completely established my self as the true western lord, but circumstances caused me to change my plans. I tried to find a suitable demoness, but none I’ve seen were worthy of baring my heir. I wanted a female that did not fear me or was interested in my status” he moved from his kneeling position to sit next to her “you have opposed me countless times without any fear even though you knew I could kill you quite easily”

“Why didn’t you just talk to me?” she asked.

“You really think the hanyou would allow you to talk with me?” he questioned as his hand reached and touched his sleeping son’s face “especially if he knew my intentions”

“So you used that method to enter my dreams,” she concluded calmly.

“Correct” he agreed.

She sighed, “how come I didn’t know I was pregnant?”

“Every woman experiences pregnancy differently” he answered looking at her “a woman impregnated by a youkai in her dreams will in some rare cases, such as yourself, show no outward signs of pregnancy besides sickness, increased appetite, and mood changes”

“I only had one of those symptoms,” she mentioned.

He gave a nod “I know” he turned his gaze to his son when he began to whine, “he needs to be fed”

She frowned as she watched the infant begin to squirm and whine “how do you know?”

“He was just born” he replied “he needs to eat within the first while of being born so he can grow healthy and strong, if not, he’ll die”

For a minute Kagome didn’t move. She wasn’t sure what she should do. She knew that babies fed for a while from their mother’s breast, but one: she wasn’t sure she even had milk to offer and two: she wasn’t about to expose any part of herself to Sesshoumaru. As far as she was concerned she wasn’t about to pull her breast out in front of him. It didn’t matter how much she talked and got to know him that all happened in a dream, this was the real world and she felt she didn’t know this Sesshoumaru at all. He was not the same…youkai she knew in her dreams. In her dreams he was more talkative and he even smiled once or twice, but the real him always wears an emotionless mask. So the question was how to feed her unexpected newborn son without showing her breasts to the western lord.

“Kagome” he said, getting her attention “feed our son”

She blushed. Such a dilemma, she couldn’t show her breasts in front of Sesshoumaru, but she had to feed her baby “are you even sure I have milk?” she found herself asking.

He growled quietly “your body has been preparing for our son even if you were not aware of it”

“Oh” she said, trying to think of a way to do this “um, can you leave so I can do this?”

“No” he stated, “I’m not leaving you or our son”

“Can’t you at least look away then?” she asked.

“Very well” he consented and looked the other way.

Kagome sighed and lifted up her shirt. Hmm this was going to be a little harder to do that she thought. Somehow she had to keep her shirt up and keep her one breast out of her bra and keep her bra out of the way so the wires of it didn’t hurt the baby, but she knew it was also going to be uncomfortable for her.

“Is he eating?” Sesshoumaru’s voice came, breaking her from her thoughts once more.

“Not yet” she replied, “I, um, am trying to figure out how to do this”

Turning back the taiyoukai looked at her “remove your shirt and that bra”

“What?” she said embarrassed.

Sesshoumaru removed his outer shirt and handed it to her “use this to cover yourself” noticing she wasn’t sure how to get positioned and ready. Seeing his son was becoming more upset the longer his food was kept from him, he placed his shirt down and gently took his son from her arms “be quick, your companions are discussing returning inside shortly”

Kagome took a moment to watch the taiyoukai stare at the infant in his arms before she took off her shirt and bra faster than could be seen. Quickly she put on the shirt she was given “okay I’m ready” she said quietly and took their child as the youkai lord handed him over. Making sure the lord didn’t look, she then exposed one breast then held her son close to her nipple. She watched as he whined and shook his head from side to side while opening his mouth wide open. Frowning she held him a bit closer while taking her breast in one hand to move it a bit “come on” she encouraged “come on suck”

“Is there a problem?” Sesshoumaru asked.

“I, uh,” not really sure how to say this, she was blunt “he won’t take the nipple”

Not caring what she was going to say he turned and faced her once more. Sesshoumaru then used his hand to rub his son’s cheek gently in an attempt to get him to close his mouth around his mother’s nipple. It took some time, but it eventually worked and the infant was soon quietly sucking. He then closed the shirt a bit more so both had more privacy.

“Are you sure he’s getting milk?” she asked.

“Yes” he replied, “I can smell the milk you’re producing”

“So…what happens now?” Kagome asked, quietly. This whole situation felt unreal to her, but she could feel this tiny new life sucking on her breast and the pain she still felt in her lower region told her it was quite real.

“We raise our son” Sesshoumaru answered simply.

“Together?” she questioned.

“That is how a child is raised, with both parents” he commented “is it not?”

She gave a nod then shyly asked a question she had been thinking of since she gave birth to their son “and what…what are we to…you know…each other?”

“We are a male and female that created and had a son,” he stated.

“Is that all?” she had hoped that when she had a family that it would be with someone she loved. She wasn’t sure if she could handle raising a child with a man…or in this case youkai that she didn’t know or know if he loved her or cared for her in some way.

Sesshoumaru placed his hand on her arm “if you would like we can work on becoming more than what we are”

She nodded “okay” there was silent for a moment as they listened to their newborn suckle as he ate “Sesshoumaru, why else did you pick me? I’m human”

“I do not hate humans as much as people believe I do” he replied “you are different from the humans of this time. You value family and care to be clean; it is what drew me to consider you to have my heir. You’re smell is cleaner than the humans here”

“Oh” she blushed.

“We will be leaving soon,” he said

“Why?” she asked.

“I am a lord” he replied, “I have duties to attend to”

She gave a nod “and what shall I do?” she asked, looking down when she no longer felt a mouth on her breast. She saw her son seemed to be finished.

“You will come with me so I know both you and our son are safe” he stated, watching when she tightened the shirt around her so her breasts were no longer showing.

“Kagome” Shippo’s voice came “can we come in now?”

Kagome glanced at the taiyoukai and saw him nod “yes Shippo”

The kitsune came running into the hut, but immediately halted when the taiyoukai growled. The others entered right behind him, but he did not move from his spot. It was Inuyasha that looked in his direction “I warned you not to go running in; youkai are on high alert with their newborns around, sudden movement or running towards them can be seen as a threat. We’re lucky to even be allowed to see the pup this soon”

“I’m sorry” Shippo said as held his head down.

Kagome felt bad for him, she didn’t completely understand what it meant when youkai had children or how they behaved, she guessed it was something she was going to have to learn if she was going to be raising the child of one “it’s alright Shippo, come here”

Shippo smiled at her and this time walked up till he was beside her. He looked down at the now sleeping infant seeing his tiny bit of silver hair “he sure is tiny”

“I’m sure you were this tiny too when you were a baby,” she said.

His eyes widened “really?”

“Positive” she said with conviction.

Sango cautiously approached, noticing how the taiyoukai watched her the closer she got till she was right in front of them. She knelt down and got to get a closer look at the infant she helped birth “oh he’s so adorable Kagome”

Kagome smiled at her “thanks Sango. You’ve been a big help”

“You’re welcome” the taijiya replied.

Miroku kept his distance, but moved around so he could get a better look “so it seems when you were sick in the bush you were pregnant. Hard to believe”

“I have to admit I’m still finding this hard to believe myself,” Kagome admitted before looking at Inuyasha who was still standing near the door “do you want to come see?”

Hesitantly the hanyou approached and the others got out of his way. Slowly he knelt down, never taking his sight away from the resting infant, his first nephew, the one who should be his first son. Blinking quickly he stood up and left the hut without a word to anyone.

“I don’t think we’ll see him for awhile,” said Kaede.

Kagome frowned “yes, he doesn’t seem too happy, does he?”

Seeing the sadden look on her face, Miroku smiled at her “do not worry Kagome I feel this situation has taken him by surprise, in fact, it has taken us all by surprise. Don’t worry, he’ll come around”

She gave a half smile, knowing he was trying to make her feel better “thanks Miroku”

“Sesshoumaru-sama” a male voice called from outside “Milord where are you?”

Sango looked outside the hut “it’s Jaken”

“Fetch him,” ordered the taiyoukai. He watched the female leave before looking down at the mother of his child “it is time to go”

Kagome gave a sad nod; she didn’t want to cry in front of the others at the moment. She would wait till she was alone before she expressed her sorrow.

“Where are you going Kagome?” asked Shippo, scared of losing her.

“I’m going with Sesshoumaru” she answered “he has duties to attend to so I must go with him”

The kitsune frowned “why?”

“Because he wants to make sure his son and I stay safe,” she replied to him.

Jaken then entered the hut “milord I’ve found you, I have brought the dragon as you have ordered”

“Very well then” Sesshoumaru said as he stood up before turning to assist the female to stand “let us leave”

Jaken looked at the woman holding a baby “she is joining us milord?”

Sesshoumaru shot the green toad a narrowed look “you object to my son and his mother joining us, Jaken?”

The servant paled, “forgive me milord!” he cried out and began bowing “I was not aware you had bred with a female!”

“Jaken”

Jaken looked up from his place on the ground “yes?”

“Quiet” was the only word Sesshoumaru said to silence the small youkai “if you wake my son you will pay with your life”

“H-Hai milord” the toad said, speaking quieter, a stunned expression still on his face.

The taiyoukai turned his gaze back to Kagome noticing her wincing and her legs shaking slightly “can you walk?”

“I, uh, don’t think so” she said, “I’m pretty sore”

Giving a single nod, Sesshoumaru carefully picked her up, making sure her and the baby were comfortable “let’s us go”

“Wait” she stopped him “I want to say goodbye to everyone” smiling when he nodded and turned so she could face the others “bye Sango, Kaede, Miroku, Shippo”

“Stay safe Kagome” Miroku said.

She nodded “I’ll try”

Kaede walked up to them and touched the girl’s arm “make sure you stay healthy and take care of that little one you have there”

“I will” she promised “thanks so much Kaede, for everything”

“You’re quite welcome” the old miko replied.

Sango walked up to the new mother and gave a hug as best as she could while having a taiyoukai hold the girl and without hurting the infant “you take care of yourself Kagome and keep us informed of everything going on, okay?”

“I will Sango” she said “I’ll try and visit you guys when I get the chance”

“Okay” the taijiya agreed “and don’t worry about Inuyasha I’ll talk with him”

Kagome nodded then looked down at the kitsune who had his back to them “Shippo?”

“Bye Kagome” was all he said without turning his head.

She frowned; she found she didn’t really know how to respond to him, she didn’t know what to say. Hurt by his behavior towards her, she merely whispered, “bye” before she looked up at the youkai that held her “I guess I’m ready to go now”

The Taiyoukai gave a nod and they left the hut without another word. They left the village where the dragon Jaken spoke of was waiting with a young teenage girl sitting on its back, waiting for them. Kagome realized it was Rin…a much older Rin now. She turned and smiled “ah Sesshoumaru-sama! You’re back!”

“Rin, make room for Kagome and the infant” Sesshoumaru said.

Rin did as she was told and moved to the back end of the dragon. She watched as her lord placed the woman down beside her and stared at the bundle in her arms “is it a boy or a girl?”

Kagome smiled “a boy”

“Oh who’s his daddy?” she asked.

“I am” replied the taiyoukai as they began walking.

Rin gave a child like squeal “Sesshoumaru-sama’s son! May I see?”

Kagome nodded and maneuvered the infant carefully so not to wake him and gave the girl a look “what do you think?”

“I think he’s pretty” she replied, “he’s got Sesshoumaru-sama’s hair, does he have milord’s eyes?”

“No, he has my blue eyes” Kagome answered.

“What’s his name?” the child asked.

The young miko blinked, she seemed to have forgotten about that “I’m not sure, he hasn’t been named yet” she looked to the taiyoukai “Sesshoumaru, what are we going to name him?”

“We will name him later” he stated.

Finding it strange to name a child long after they were born Kagome said nothing. They traveled for hours and through the night, only stopping to feed and change the baby, which the taiyoukai had to assist her with the feeding. She had even been able to squeeze in a hot bath or two, which made her feel much better and she felt she could walk, but was still sore and when she did walk she was slow. The time was also used for bathroom breaks and to get something to eat.

It took them a full two days travel, but they eventually reached the taiyoukai’s home. It looked like any home belonging to a lord or emperor back in feudal Japan, but Kagome was still amazed Inuyasha’s brother had such a place. There were two floors, but from what she could tell the second floor was smaller so she assumed there was only bedrooms up there. She noticed there were guards posted out front and they bowed when they entered. Inside they were greeted by more guards, which made Kagome a little nervous and hold her baby closer to her. They were all youkai…even the servants. She didn’t see a single human besides Rin.

Once inside, Kagome saw that it was decorated very simple, nothing fancy. She watched as a servant walked up to them and bowed then Rin said goodbye to them and left with the youkai woman. Giving a small sigh now that she lost the only other human she had seen since arriving, she slowly followed the taiyoukai as they went upstairs and she noticed there were 8 rooms. She followed Sesshoumaru down to the last room and peered in when he opened the door for her.

Kagome had to admit that the room was beautiful and looked as if it had been made just for her. The bed was western style just like majority of beds were in the future. It looked as though many futons had been placed over top of each other to give some height and act as a mattress. At the end of the bed there was a nicely crafted crib for their son. Next to the side bed was a simple crafted nightstand, turning her head to the side she saw a door that was opened and inside she saw many kimonos. The room itself was huge and even had the tradition low table and cushions to sit on.

“This will be your room” Sesshoumaru said after a few minutes of letting her look “do you approve?

Kagome gave a nod “yes, thank you. I’ve never imagined having such a big room”

He gave a slight nod “it is made to be comfortable. You’ll be spending much of your time in here”

She looked back at him and frowned “I will?”

“You are still sore and will need rest to help you heal” he replied, “food will be brought to you. When the servants announce themselves you will cover our son so they cannot see him and they are not allowed to go near him. They are to enter, leave the meal on the table, and then leave. Do not attempt to talk to them”

“Oh okay” she said quietly. She got the instant feeling she was going to be spending more time in that room after she was finished healing and was rested.
