Authors Note: I am going to fudge this idea just a little bit, for what I have planned to work the time setting must be at the beginning, but her age must be older. So For creative purposes only we are going to make Kagome seventeen so she will be a bit more mature in some areas. This is, after all going to be an erotic story.
--
Kagome had been unable to fall back asleep after her dream, she had tried but in the end when she closed her eyes and started to drift away into slumber red eyes would meet her. After trying a handful of times it appeared that she was not lucky enough to get rest on the only real night she would have home till the next new moon. She took the early morning hours to study, trying to rid her mind of demons and the possibilities of sexual gratification, but most of the time she found herself re-reading over the same paragraphs or diagrams; she gave up on that after an hour and threw on some comfy pants and a tank top so she could start cleaning up around the shrine.
That was successful. She swept the entire place, straightened up the souvenir shop, did inventory in the antiques shed, printed off the shipping information for packages due to leave that morning, and she even took the time to quietly walk around the lower floor of her home to clean it up for her mother and grandfather. She made a mental note to scold her younger brother for leaving his crap everywhere; no one was his maid. Yet here she was tiptoeing up the stairs with an arm full of dirty clothes, a backpack with heavy books, soccer cleats, and random items from his room. She slipped into his room and saw him snoring away in his bed, he was drooling a bit with messy hair and mismatching socks on his feet; it was perfect. She dropped all his stuff on his chest which resulted in him crying out for a moment then rolling out of bed. “What the-KAGOME! What gives!?”
She crossed her arms over her chest, glaring down at him. “What gives is you are a slob. Clean up after yourself and this won’t happen. Next time I will drop it all on your face or throw it away. You are a teenager, mom isn’t your maid.” She had a hint of an attitude in her voice that faded with her next sentence. “It’s almost time to get up, go shower and I will start some breakfast.” She left him rubbing his head, confusion still abundant in his groggy mind. Kagome went to the kitchen, scanning the fridge before deciding to make omelets with veggies and sausage. Souta came down just as she was setting his plate down with some toast popping out of the toaster, she smiled at him and kept cooking the other three she knew would be needed in a matter of minutes since her grandpa and mom would be waking. “What are you doing here, sis?”
She blinked, turning to look at him. “I live here” she paused with a smile, “and I needed to bring back my work that I have done so momma can turn it in. I came in late last night, thought I would help out a bit before I headed back.“ He was shoveling food in his mouth much like Inuyasha did which had her scowling a bit.
“Well that explains why Souta is up and ready to go, its lovely to see you Kagome.” Her mother’s voice startled her out of her comparison of her brother and the dog demon. She smiled and continued with her mother’s breakfast.
“Morning momma.” She made small talk with the older woman, listening to the gossip of the neighborhood and speaking at appropriate times when necessary. Gramps came in a few minutes after and was greeted with a plate of food that had him crying and saying how his granddaughter loved him so much. After they all ate their food her brother rushed off to catch the bus, nearly forgetting his backpack as he ran up the stairs to get it and flew out the door. “I did most of the chores that needed to be done today, you shouldn’t have too much to do. I sent off all the packages too.” She began to clean up the dishes, unknown to her that her mother was watching her with eyes full of pride at the woman Kagome was becoming.
“Thank you dear. You did not have to do that.” She tried to help her daughter but was shooed away from the sink with a fresh cup of coffee. “When do you leave again?” There was a sadness in her voice, but she was smiling still.
“As soon as I am done cleaning up I am heading back, have to get an early start if we are going to make good distance today.” She sighed a bit, making a note in her head to grab her bicycle. She didn’t want to ride on Inuyasha’s back today. “All of my work is on my desk in my room.” She turned from her completed task and went to kiss her grandpa and mom on the cheek, “I’m going to shower then pack up for my trip.” She was gone then, off to enjoy the comforts of the modern world that included hot water pressure.
She took her time in the shower, making sure it ran cold before she got out to dry off. In her room she looked at her old uniform for school and folded it up to hide away in her closet. “Looks like there is no use in holding onto you. I can always change when I have to go in.” She found a pair of jeans instead, basic light blue jeans with pockets that had buttons, tennis shoes, and a form fitting white t-shirt that had a low V cut in the next. The shirt was thin so it wouldn’t be too hot in the feudal era and the bra she wore was white so it wasn’t too brutally obvious. She took the time to pack a dozen shirts that varied in color from t-shirts like the one she was wearing to spaghetti straps for the really hot days. She took three pairs of jeans and one pair of jeans shorts. She refused to take a skirt because she had a bad habit of being knocked around by demons and she didn’t want her panty collection being shown to the feudal era. Kagome did take a pair of hiking boots though, just in case.
Instead of her basic back pack she stuffed all of her personal items into a sporting bag that was almost as big as her. Her school books were inside with a few blank notebooks since her mother turned in those to prove she was doing the work herself, and store bag full of items that only girls would need. She took an ipod and a solar charger for it that he mother had specially ordered for her so she could drown out Inuyasha when she needed too. Once she was downstairs with her bag and empty backpack she put in a few snacks that would hold well such as nuts, dried fruit, and jerky then she kissed her family goodbye and left for the well, jumping in without hesitation.
The familiar pull of magic engulfed her and she felt weightless for a few moments before her feet gently touched the bottom of the well in the feudal era. “Well. I’m back.” She mumbled and started the fun part of climbing up the vines in the well. Normally she rushed to the village, but this time around she took her time getting there. She knew Inuyasha would most likely be beyond angry with her so she had no feeling of urgency to make it there to be yelled at. She looked around as she walked, truly loving how peaceful it was in the feudal era and how clean it was but she had been so lost in the scenery that she hadn’t noticed Inuyasha running at her. She found herself on the ground with a growling dog demon looming over her. “What the! Inuyasha!” she felt the pain in her backside start to sting a bit from being pushed down into the dirt so roughly.
“You dumb bitch! Don’t EVER do that to me again on that night!” he was livid it seemed and for a moment she was scared, knowing it was filling her scent as she watched him smirk. “Because of you I couldn’t get to my normal spot and I had to sit out last night in the village! If you ever do that again I will make sure you can’t go back through the damn well.” He stormed away from her, leaving her where he had pushed her down.
“Jerk.” She mumbled as she stood back up and picked up her bags once more. “Stupid Inuyasha.” She brushed unshed tears from her eyes, not wanting them to fall and prove just how weak she was.
“Why do you not protect yourself, Kagome?” the smooth voice of Naraku had her whirling around to be thrown off balance by her duffel bag. He was standing a few yards away from her in the tree line, a soft smile on his face.
“Naraku!” she whispered out, memories of her dream rising to the surface had her bushing slightly and her body tingling as it had been when she woke in the middle of the night.
“Indeed.” He paused, “You are a priestess, yet you do not defend yourself? Why?” He motioned for her to come closer.
“I don’t know how.” She admitted before realizing the information she had just given the stranger. “I mean..” she fumbled and had the decency to flush from embarrassment as she got a little closer to him.
“No one has trained you? Were you not born this way as most priestesses?” He was curious now, he could feel the power just under her skin, waiting to be called forth.
“Where I am from humans do not go into such training, I only just discovered that I have the abilities that I do and there is no one that can help me with them since I am always traveling with Inuyasha to get the shards.” She was just outside of the tree line now, standing in the sunlight while he stayed in the shadows.
Naraku felt the gears in his mind turning, each way to use this was playing out in his mind. He would make her love him, but now he would make her trust him so fully that she didn’t realize what he would be doing to her. He would make her all powerful and loyal to him. “I have known many beings with holy powers. I can help you, if you will allow me too.” He didn’t move to touch her even though he wanted to, if his plan was to work there could be absolutely no trickery involved beyond basic manipulation so in the end she would realize everything was her choice.
Kagome’s eyes widened. A demon who felt purely malevolent was offering to teach her the ways of the purest of powers. Why? “Why would you help me? I thought that demons and holy beings were not normally friends.” she was cautious which earned her the chuckle from her dreams, causing her to shiver slightly.
“You remind me of someone I knew a long time ago. A friend.” He left the explanation as that, not wanting to mention Kikyo as he was sure that she was tired of being compared to her already.
“I need to think about it.” She went for a diplomatic answer, neither rejecting or accepting his offer. “How do I let you know what I have decided?” she smiled at him, trying her hardest to show she was not turning him down fully just genuinely taking time to weigh the options since he was a stranger.
“Simply whisper my name to any spider you see.” He smiled at her, moving back into the shadows of the forest before fading from view completely.
“Whisper to the spiders, what does that even mean?” She took a shaky breath and kept moving towards the village as she thought about his words. She had seen Inuyasha interact with other canines before so maybe it was Naraku’s demon part. Maybe he was a spider demon. She made it to Kaede’s hut and politely drank some herbal tea with her silently before storing her bag and loading her backpack with essentials for the week. She realized she had left her bike at home and made a note to grab it before they headed out on their journey of the month.
Kaede had been a pleasant host, speaking with her about herbs and small things that a priestess should be learning. She took notes in one of her notebooks and smiled to her before Inuyasha was raising a fuss for them to leave. She told him she needed her bike and threatened to get it herself and stay the day at home to make him race back and grab it for her. He had done as she had planned and now she was enjoying the breeze against her face as she followed behind him a distance. Naraku’s voice kept repeating in her head, and she knew he was right; she needed to be able to protect herself in this era and be able to harness her natural abilities.
It was during this train of thought that reality slapped her in the face. They had been traveling most of the day, her stopping only a few times for water or a quick snack to keep her energy up. It was on one of those stops that a rogue demon attacked her; she had screamed at first, the sudden burst of chaos startling her. She was still not used to how bad things could really be in this era. The bear demon had sensed her shards and smelled her purity and decided she needed to be his meal and her shards needed to be his reward. She had open wounds on her back from where the bear had tried to grab a hold of her, but she had fought him and gotten away as Inuyasha took to tearing him apart piece by piece in what seemed like forever. She was in pain but her adrenaline was still keeping it at bay as the bear demon finally fell and she watched as an orb slowly rose from him and dissipated in the air. “What was that?”
“A bear demon you stupid girl.” She glared at Inuyasha, noting that he wasn’t hurt. “You smell like the demon. Go wash yourself up before you make me sick.” He turned from her then, not wanting to see her bleeding or smell the mixture of fear and bear on her. He felt guilty for being so far ahead of her that she got hurt, but in the end the stupid girl had chosen to ride her contraption and he was still mad at her for the night before so no guilt would take away his attitude.
“You are such a jerk! SIT!” she walked off as he hit the ground, feeling the semi-deep gashes on her back start to seriously ache. She knew they weren’t life threatening but they were definitely going to be a painful healing process. “If I knew how to use my reiki this wouldn’t have happened!” she could feel her shirt sticking to her back as she moved and when she reached the stream it was painful to take it off. “So much for my white shirt being reusable.” She sighed and unhooked her bra, and sighed as she pulled the partially shredded garment off. It took some time but she got all four gashes cleaned with much wincing and hissing and poured some disinfectant she kept in her bag down her back. That was when she cried out and almost passed out; it stung more than anything she had ever felt.
After putting on as much ointment as she could from the angle she managed to wrap herself up in some gauze and bandages and slipped back into her upper body clothes, though this time the shirt was red just in case the blood seeped through it wouldn’t be as obvious. When she was making her way back to the path they had been on she happened to see a spider perched on a web in the tree branches. She paused and made her decision as she walked next to the arachnid and whispered towards it, “Naraku. Yes.”
“About time!” He chided and began a slightly slower pace once more when he saw her settle onto her bicycle,"Pathetic human." he tossed over his shoulder, making her pedal that much faster to prove him wrong even though it was causing her injury to scream.
