The weeks went by quickly for the three lovers. Inuyasha found himself kissing his brother back more often as of late and he no longer fought in the mornings. Instead Inuyasha slept in with Sesshoumaru while Pearl was the early riser.

Inuyasha still didn’t like his ass touched, but he was starting to get used to Sesshoumaru’s gentle caresses and even allowed Pearl to grab his ass when they made love.

Eventually Inuyasha gave into curiosity and went down on his brother for a change finding the feeling of power overwhelm him since he could turn Sesshoumaru into mush by using his tongue in certain ways making Sesshoumaru make all sorts of interesting noises which turned him on.

Pearl adopted a kind of sisterly love for Inuyasha, but still wasn’t sure about her feelings for Sesshoumaru. There were strong feelings for the man that made her heart flutter at times when he spoke and when he sang with her. Sometimes Sesshoumaru would sing to her or write her a little poem.

Once Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru got most of the adamant shards from the cave of what was once a large demon’s belly financially things were going well for Sesshoumaru and he could afford to buy trinkets for his intendeds. However to Pearl the little gifts were not as precious as Sesshoumaru’s poems, and his words of undying love for her.

Sesshoumaru rushed through his Lord duties to spend time with his intendeds. Sesshoumaru would bring flowers to Pearl explaining what they were and talking to her all about Rin. Inuyasha would get bored listening to his brother go on about his little girl, but the diayouki had truly loved the child and Pearl found it to be the most wonderful thing in the world to hear him talk so sweetly about a child he loved.

Pearl found she could talk to Sesshoumaru about Brandon and eventually both Pearl and Sesshoumaru got Inuyasha to talk about his kids. Inuyasha was a proud Father many times over, but it had been so long since he had seen any of his children he wasn’t sure any of them were alive.

Sesshoumaru offered to help Inuyasha find some of his children or maybe even some of his grandchildren, but Inuyasha did not want to go look. He figured if they really wanted to talk to him they all could have found him, but most of his kids had been pissed off that they were only a quarter demon. They all blamed their Father for being a hanyou and were pissed that they couldn’t just be human like their Mother. Inuyasha was used to having people mad at him for things he couldn’t control so he really didn’t want to talk about it.

Sesshoumaru could tell his little brother was hurt that his kids hated him, but did not push. They had a future together now and once Inuyasha could read more he would show him a book that claimed hanyous who mate with hanyous had full demon children. He hoped that would make Inuyasha happy.

Inuyasha could feel his human night coming upon him so he was a bit moodier than usual plus he and Pearl had an argument so he was sitting in a tree trying to calm down. Pearl wanted him to dance with her and he just did not dance. Sesshoumaru danced, but he wasn’t around doing his Lordly duties as usual leaving only Inuyasha and Pearl to deal with each other for the day.

Pearl wanted to teach Inuyasha to dance, but Inuyasha refused to even try which hurt Pearl’s feelings. There was so little to do and Pearl did not feel like painting although Inuyasha wanted her to teach him how to paint. It was like they were on opposite poles today.

What Inuyasha really wanted to do was beat up something. He kind of hoped Kouga would show up like he did a week ago so he could threaten him and they could fight for a while. Kouga was always good for a scrap and the rivalry between them still was there with a bit of respect for each other as well.

Kouga had not been expected and Sesshoumaru had not been pleased to see the wolf. They had just ended a war and there were still hard feelings. Also Kouga’s son did not know the word tact just like his Father as he pointed out that Sesshoumaru still had not mated Pearl. At that Inuyasha got involved before Sesshoumaru could say a word as he bonked the young wolf demon on the head for being such an idiot. At that Kouga got mad and attacked Inuyasha who was ready for him.

Sesshoumaru had pulled the two of them apart only to have Pearl bonk Kip too who dared to wink at her.

Kip went to grab Pearl’s wrist for bonking him and at that Sesshoumaru lost it telling both wolves if he saw them in his territories without an invitation he would start the war again. No one grabbed at his female. Inuyasha had tried to calm Sesshoumaru down, but Sesshoumaru pushed him behind him like a fucking bitch and told him to stay out of it. At that all hell broke loose and Inuyasha went off on his brother only to have Sesshoumaru embarrassingly subdue him which Inuyasha had yet to forgive his brother for doing in front of the wolves.

What was worse Sesshoumaru blabbed to Kouga that Inuyasha was also his intended and Kouga dared to make the comment he would be no mans bitch right in front of Inuyasha only for Inuyasha to break free and attempt to kill Kouga yelling obscenities in the most creative of ways that he was no one’s bitch.

The scuffle finally ended when Sesshoumaru sufficiently knocked Inuyasha out cold and told Kouga to leave or he would allow Inuyasha to kill him. Inuyasha didn’t speak to Sesshoumaru for two whole days for that and had indeed slept on the floor growling at his brother to stay away until he calmed down.

Inuyasha was still kind of mad at Sesshoumaru, but he didn’t want to fight with his brother any more unless it was to grapple or spar. Still he would give anything for some serious action like they had in the past. Even a roving band of human bandits would be worth putting up with if he could really pound on them. He also hated being mad at Pearl. He loved her so much, but sometimes she was so pushy.

“Inuyasha, I will teach you how to paint if you want.”

Pearl said as she followed his scent to this tree.

Inuyasha looked down and saw Pearl had been crying. Gods he hated it when women cried. It made him feel like a real jerk.

“You don’t have to if you don’t want to Pearl.”

Inuyasha said as he stood up and jumped down from the tree.

“No, I shouldn’t have pushed you to try and dance and plus I have been promising to teach you to paint for a while.”

Pearl said wiping away the tears trying to smile brightly at Inuyasha. It reminded Inuyasha so much of Kagome and how she would try to please him pushing her own feeling to the side. He knew Pearl had yet to say it, but she did love him and his brother. More than she was willing to admit to. She told him today that she loved him like a sister, but Inuyasha wasn’t stupid. He knew it wasn’t like that at all. Pearl was just so pig headed she was too much like him in some ways.

“No, I want to battle right now Pearl not paint. I really want to beat something up.”

Inuyasha said as he sniffed the air for any incoming lower demons or bandits.

“Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru won’t teach me how to fight. Can you teach me? Shippo started teaching me katas and some basic sword handling moves, but it was only for a short time. I really need to know how to defend myself and I know you could show me.”

Pearl said and Inuyasha frowned.

“I don’t want you to fight either. You know better than to ask me this.”

Inuyasha growled once again angry with Pearl.

“Inuyasha what if something happens to you both. I am not saying it will, but what if. What if you and Sesshoumaru can’t get to me? I need to know how to defend myself. I am not going to go look for trouble, I am just asking for you to teach me how to protect myself.”

Pearl said in frustration.

“You won’t be alone so there is no need to teach you. One of us will always be with you.”

Inuyasha said trying to end this subject.

“You were gone for two hours Inuyasha! I was on my own!”

Pearl yelled.

“The guards are protecting you. This subject is closed Pearl. Don’t ask me to do something you know I will not do.”

Inuyasha said hoping this ended the argument.

Pearl roared in her frustration. Tears poured down her face.

“You both want me weak! You want me to be some helpless female and I am not! Damn you both! Damn you both to hell!”

Pearl roared and then ran to the castle as Inuyasha frowned. He did not want to start another fight with Pearl, but damnit he wasn’t going to go against his brother even for Pearl. They built trust over this time and if he taught Pearl to fight Sesshoumaru would never forgive him. Jumping back up into the tree he decided he would just stay out here until the storm cleared.

Louna found Pearl sobbing in the hallway curled up in a ball filled with sorrow.

“Child what is wrong.”

Louna asked the sobbing girl.

“Men! That is what is wrong!”

Pearl choked out.

“Come with me little one and we will talk.”

Louna said and Pearl just nodded following Louna to her private chambers.

“No males are allowed in here my dear so you can speak freely.”

Louna said genuinely concerned about her soon to be daughter.

“All I want is to be able to defend myself. I cannot turn into a giant dog like you my Lady or I would feel better. Neither of my men want to help me. They want to keep me as this weak thing. All I ask is that they train me like Shippo did. I am not looking to go out and start fighting with people; I just want to know how to protect myself.’
“Sesshoumaru says I don’t need to learn how to defend myself anymore since Inuyasha is around when he is not, but he had said he would teach me once. I held him to that and now I feel cheated.”

Pearl said as the tears flowed down her face.

“Well my son may be Lord of this Manor, but I am still the Lady. I can teach you some things and set you up to train with some of my females who learn archery as well as knife throwing. I can also have you come to our dojo to learn grappling and the art of stealth. My son doesn’t go there since he figures it is just a female place, but I know the females there would welcome you.”

Louna said feeling a bit irritated at Sesshoumaru for saying one thing and doing another as he always tended to do. One did not do that to ones mate or to their intended. If the boys’ Father was here both of them would be reprimanded for upsetting this girl. In fact it was Touga’s idea to come up with a female dojo for the women to learn to fight since he believed in self defense and that if everyone knew this their empire would be ten times stronger than if one man stood alone. Pearl had every right to learn to defend herself.

Louna excused herself to go talk to her son and use some authority she had not used with him in a while.

Walking with determination she found Sesshoumaru in his study doing paperwork. Without looking up to regard his Mother he continued on.

“What is it Mother? I am busy right now and I do not have time for more complaints.”

Sesshoumaru said in exasperation.

Louna marched up to her son and pinched his ear hard.

“Do not speak down to me young man!”

Sesshoumaru grabbed his ear and growled at his Mother who was furious with him.

“Whatever Inuyasha did I will fix it later woman!”

Sesshoumaru growled assuming his little brother broke another one of Mother’s priceless vases.

“This isn’t about your brother! This is about your soon to be wife!”

Mother roared and Sesshoumaru’s eyes went wide. Was Pearl hurt? Was she in danger? Did she break one of Mother’s irreplaceable items?

“What about Pearl?! Where is she! Damnit woman is she hurt?!”

Sesshoumaru said getting up immediately trying to push past his Mother to find his precious Pearl.

“She is hurt, but not physically! She is emotionally hurting and it is both your and your little brother’s fault!”

Mother stated angrily.

“What did Inuyasha say to her?”

Sesshoumaru demanded. He hadn’t meant to say to Inuyasha that he didn’t like Pearl’s hair up all the time since he liked running his fingers through it, but if she wanted it up he would accept it and be grateful she worked so hard to be so beautiful for him.

“It is what you said to her and what he said recently! Why did you say you would teach her to defend herself then retract that statement?!”

Mother said with her hands on her hips.

Sesshoumaru calmed down considerably at that.

“Oh, that. She doesn’t need to defend herself. Inuyasha and I are more than capable of defending her.”

Sesshoumaru said sitting back down to go back to his work.

Mother went over and pinched his ear again.

“Damnit woman I do not have time for this nonsense!”

Sesshoumaru growled.

“You promised her you would teach her then you took it back! You do not do that to someone you love! You don’t make promises and break them! If your Father were here you would be in serious trouble young man!”

Mother fumed.

“Well Father isn’t here! I had to take over from where he left off! He died and left me with this mess so excuse me if I do not feel threatened! If Father were here I would give him a piece of my mind!”

Sesshoumaru roared.

Mother sighed.

“No need to be so dramatic Sesshoumaru. I have a solution and you will agree to it.”

Mother stated as Sesshoumaru’s eyes narrowed at his Mother.

“I will teach Pearl how to defend herself and she will train with the other females at the female dojo.”

Mother said simply and waited for her son’s answer.

“That is acceptable.”

Sesshoumaru said wishing his Mother would have just said that in the beginning since it would have been much more productive and he would not have to deal with a sore ear.

“You will also apologize to her for breaking your promise.”

Mother said sternly.

Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes. This was completely ridiculous. Apologizing for something so insignificant. It wasn’t like a female could be much of a threat anyway unless ear pinching was involved.

“If it will make her feel better I will make amends with her. Now I am busy so please excuse me if I do not show you out Mother.”

Sesshoumaru said as he turned back to his paperwork.

Mother was so excited. She had added the Naginata as part of the training and although Sesshoumaru always considered the Naginata as a crude farmer’s weapon. However, in the hands of a trained warrior it was quite the amazing tool. She really couldn’t wait to tell Pearl and have her train with the other women.
