Chapter 34: Kikyo�s Baby

A/N: Kikyo gives birth to her and Kouga�s baby boy. They name him Satoru. I will also be introducing a new character into the story in the next chapter. He will play a very important role later on. Enjoy!
Kouga paced back and forth outside his chambers nervously. He strained his sensitive ears to see if he could hear any sounds coming from the room. Behind the closed door his mate Kikyo was giving birth to their first pup with the help of the pack�s midwife. After what seemed like two eternities to Kouga the door to his chambers finally swung open. The elderly midwife gestured for Kouga to come into the room. �Kikyo, is she alright?� The old midwife smiled at Kouga�s concern for his mate.
�Kikyo is just fine. She�s holding your new son if you would like to see her your highness.�
�Yes thank you. I have a son?�
�Yes your highness, Lady Kikyo gave you a son.� Kouga grinned broadly and strode into his chambers to check on his mate and newborn son. There lying in their bed was Kikyo holding a small baby boy in her arms.
�Hey beautiful.� Kikyo gave him a tired smile and then nodded towards their newborn son.
�I gave you a son Kouga.�
�Yes I see that. What will we call him Kikyo?�
�Satoru.�
�Satoru? Yes that name will do nicely.�
�Would you like to hold your new son?�
�Yes.� Kouga carefully took the small infant boy in his muscular arms. Satoru was small with a head full of pitch black hair, olive coloring to his skin which meant he would turn the same bronze color as his father when he got out in the sun. His eyes were a grayish green color resembling the ocean right after a good strong rainstorm. Kouga then took notice of Satoru�s small dark brown ears that had black tips sticking out from his black hair atop his head. Satoru had ears like this because he was only a half demon, but it did not matter to Kouga.
Kouga loved his human mate deeply and wonot not change his decision to take her as his mate. �Kikyo, he�s beautiful, just like you.� Kikyo could feel tears welling up in her chocolate brown eyes.
�Kouga, I�m so happy that we found each other! You�ve given me the greatest gift anyone ever could. You gave me my beautiful little boy Satoru.� Kouga leaned down and placed a chaste kiss on Kikyo�s forehead.
�I love you Kikyo, never forget that.�
�I won�t. I love you too Kouga.� Kouga thended ded Satoru back over to Kikyo so that she could breast feed him. The happy couple sat in silence taking in the idea of becoming parents.
Deep in the heart of the Western lands things were in complete disarray at Lord Inutaisho�s palace. Lord Inutaisho�s trusted advisor Hikaru was given his orders to summon both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru to Lord Inutaisho�s own private study. The elderly fox kitsune padded up the long spiraling staircase and headed down the corridor to the right where Sesshomaru�s temporary chambers had been set up. He knocked softly on the large wooden door and a few moments later was greeted by a scowling Prince Sesshomaru. �What do you want with me Hikaru?�
�Lord Inutaisho has ordered that you be summoned to his private study your highness.�
�Very well.� Hikaru made a quick bow then turned to go summon Inuyasha. Hikaru knocked on the door of Inuyasha�s chambers and was greeted by his lovely mate Kagome.
�Oh Lady Kagome, where is Prince Inuyasha?�
�Hello Hikaru, Inuyasha is sleeping. Why?�
�Lord Inutaisho requests his presence in the private study immediately.�
�Alright I�ll wake him.�
�Thank you Lady Kagome.� She nodded and Hikaru gave a respectful bow before turning to leave. Inuyasha shifted in their bed annoyed that someone had disturbed him.
�Who was that Kagome?�
�Hikaru.�
�What did he want?�
�Your father wishes to speak to you in his private study immediately.� Inuyasha gave a groan. �What is this about Inuyasha?�
�Probably about the fight between Sesshomaru and I in the North garden the other day.� He climbed out of bed and quickly dressed in his traditional red robes. Kagome gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek.
�I love you Inuyasha.�
�I love you too Kagome, I�ll be back shortly.� She nodded and wad hid him leave. Out in the hallway Inuyasha glared when he caught sight of his older brother heading for the staircase that led to their father�s wing of the palace.
�Inuyasha.�
�Sesshomaru.� The two siblings glared icily at each other as they began climbing the stairs side by side. They journeyed to their father�s private study in silence neither one having anything to say to the other. They were announced and led into the elegantly furnished study. Lord Inutaisho gestured for his sons to take a seat at the round cherry wood table he was sitting at. Sesshomaru took a seat to the left of his father and Inuyasha to the right.
�I�m sure you boys are wondering why you�ve been summoned.� Sesshomaru nodded and Inuyasha gave a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders. �Well I wish to address the rapidly growing rivalry between you two.� Inuyasha took the opportunity to blurt out his opinion.
�There wouldn�t be a rivalry if Sesshomaru would keep his damn hands off Kagome!� Inutaisho cast a quick glance to his oldest son. Sesshomaru�s amber eyes avoided those of his father.
�Sesshomaru is this true?�
�Don�t even bother lying Sesshomaru!�
�Inuyasha that�s enough! I addressed Sesshomaru, now let him speak.� Inuyasha frowned and then slumped down in his chair annoyed.
�Yes father, I have put my hands on Kagome.�
�Why Sesshomaru? She is Inuyasha�s mate.�
�Kagome is beautiful and she should have been given to me! Not that ungrateful half breed Inuyasha!�
�Hold your tongue Sesshomaru! You are both my sons but neither one of you is more precious to me than the other! Kagome was given to Inuyasha so you have no right to touch her Sesshomaru. You have a mate and children of your own.�
�Father I acted under the influence of my demon blood! You cannot hold me completely responsible for my actions!�
�Yes I can and you will be held completely responsible Sesshomaru. You will apologize to Kagome and your mate as well, that is not negotiable understand?� Sesshomaru nodded and went to stand.
�May I be excused?�
�You may.� Sesshomaru quickly left the room to nurse his wounded pride. �Inuyasha, you must learn to control your temper as well.�
�Yeah I know, but I love Kagome.�
�I know son.�
�Father I have goo good news to share.�
�What is it?�
�Kagome and I are expecting another pup.� Lord Inutaisho�s old amber eyes lit up.
�Another pup? Oh Inuyasha that�s wonderful! Give Kagome my blessing.� Inuyasha nodded and stood up to leave. On his way back to his chambers he saw Rin sitting in the small sitting room that was next to the chambers that she had bsharsharing with his brother up until just recently.
�Rin?�
�Yes Inuyasha?�
�What are you doing sitting alone?�
�Contemplating my marriage to Sesshomaru.� Inuyasha padded into the sitting room and joined Rin on the large sage green sofa.
�Are you going to leave my brother?�
�No. I have no place to go. My village will not accept me or my children.�
�I�m sorry about what he did Rin.�
�Oh Inuyasha it�s not your fault. I�m sorry for what he did to Kagome.�
�Yeah Kagome was pretty shaken up, but what about you?�
�It hurt to know that Sesshomaru has been desiring another woman. I thought he loved me.�
�Sesshomaru does love you Rin, of that I am sure. I know he has a peculiar way of showing it, but he does truly love you.�
�I know deep down Sesshomaru really does love me. That�s why I have made the decision to stay by his side.�
�Well I�m glad to hear it because you�re the best thing that ever happened to him.�
�Thank you Inuyasha.� He nodded and pulled Rin into a friendly hug. Then he padded back to his chambers.
�Kagome?�
�I�m here Inuyasha.�
�Why are all the lights out?�
�Because I went to bed and did not want to look at myself.�
�Why? You�re beautiful Kagome.� Inuyasha slipped off his robes and climbed into bed next to his mate.
�Do you really think so even now that Sesshomaru has raped me?�
�Of course I still think you�re beautiful! Kagome I love you and nothing can change that!�
�Oh Inuyasha I love you too! I just fso dso dirty now!� He pulled Kagome into his arms tightly.
�You�re not dirty Kagome. Sesshomaru raped you, he did this, it�s not your fault! Do you understand that?� She nodded and buried her face into his broad chest. Inuyasha began running his fingers slowly through Kagome�s thick raven locks. She finally calmed down and her breathing became soft and rhythmic. She had fallen asleep and Inuyasha decided that it was now okay for him to sleep as well.
