Ok so it’s been a very long while, forgive me please, RL became very hectic, Ive moved and gotten a new job and everything and I didn’t have time to write, plus all the stress gave me terrible writers block, so my deepest apologies everyone! If there are mistakes hiding in here forgive me for those too please... Here is the next chapter, hope you all are ready for it… So without further adeu…On with the Show!

It had been over a week since the elder council had come and gone. Things had settled down to a normal rhythm throughout the castle, and Shippo had been put into lessons with Inuyasha as soon as the arrangements could be made.
During dinner one evening everyone was chatting. Inutaishio was receiving dirty looks from Izayoi as he critiqued several of her options from the party they had recently had. Everyone but Izayoi knew he was just doing it to get her riled up.
“Ah I have a wonderful idea! Why don’t we have another party during the next full moon to celebrate the mating of my eldest son and his lovely mate?” Inutaishio said smiling, knowing the next full moon was only three days away. A bowl of pudding smashed into his face before he could even think about ducking out of the way. The whole table went silent as they watched the bowl crack and slip down his face with the pudding. If looks could kill Inutaishio knew his mate would be standing on his grave right at that very moment. He looked at her innocently through the pudding and said, “What did I say? Dearest you know I was only joking…right?”
The whole table erupted into laughter as Izayoi growled at him. Then there was a moment of silence when a new little laugh joined the already familiar voices. Little Rin’s hand was clamped to her mouth as she blushed a deep red. Everyone looked at her in shock for a moment before encouraging her to do it again. It took several attempts and Rin looked sadly at everyone thinking she had failed them.
“Try again little one.” Sesshoumaru said calmly. Rin looked at him seeing the warmth in his eyes; it gave her the courage to try again. Rin looked at her mother next to her wanting more than anything to please her. She looked deep within herself and gave it one more try.
“Mo…Mo…Mommy?” She said in a whisper, but it was more than enough. She didn’t have a chance to say anything else because she was quickly pulled into a strong embrace by Kagome who was sniffling trying to keep from crying.
She peeked over Kagome’s arm and looked at Sesshoumaru and saw him nod and smirk warmly at her. Rin couldn’t help but laugh again as Inutaishio started growling and rubbing his eyes where the pudding had slipped in and started stinging. Rin managed to slip out from her mother’s embrace and moved over to Inutaishio, completely unafraid of the growling demon. She grabbed his napkin and tugged on a lock of his hair to get his attention. When he managed to see who was tugging on his hair, he couldn’t smell her because he had a nose full of pudding; he lowered his head obediently when Rin motioned for him to. He stiffened in shock when Rin began wiping his face clean then relaxed and let the pup have her way.
“Grandpa shouldn’t pick on grandma…” She whispered and his eyes widened in shock at her. She was a gutsy little one to chastise him…oh this wouldn’t do at all…he grinned at her when she had the worst of the pudding wiped off him. Without warning he swooped her up into his arms and began smearing pudding all over her face before licking her clean once again. She squealed then laughed as he kept smearing her with the sticky pudding and licking it off her.
He froze when he heard a growl in his direction. He first looked to his mate who only had an amused look on her face. Then he looked toward his daughter and she too only looked amused. Looking up at the presence beside him he suddenly sensed danger. There standing beside him was Kagome, eyes narrowed at him and a low warning growl coming from her. He had the good sense to gulp and looked at Rin worriedly. Her hair was standing up in all different directions from their play and he knew he didn’t look much better. Rin leaned up and whispered to him “Grandpa is in trouble now.” She giggled as he released her from his grip.
“You do realize she just had a bath before coming to the evening meal correct…” Kagome asked in a dangerously low voice. Inutaishio gulped and nodded. Without warning something was slammed into his face and he slumped into his chair. Kagome growled before picking up a giggling Rin and leaving the dining hall, the remnants of her desert slipping down his face and the shattered remains of the plate settling in his lap. The whole room erupted into another round of laughter as he groaned and sat up. It was one thing to be hit by his mates food…she always threw it…Kagome had purposefully smashed hers into his face; he just knew his nose would be out of commission for at least a week. Sesshoumaru walked up to his father and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“You would do well not to attempt to dirty the pup this late in the evening Otou-san. My mate hates to put the pup to bed with wet hair.” Sesshoumaru chuckled. Inutaishio oogled his son as he quietly left the dining hall. It had to be the hormones…just had to be. He sat up and wiped himself off again, being careful around his nose. Noticing for the first time how quiet the dining hall had become. Looking around at all the smiling faces he growled and they burst out laughing at him again. His growl turned to a smirk as he shook his head knowing he had brought it upon himself. As he was walking out of the dining hall chuckling to himself he stopped dead in his tracks as he remembered what the young pup had called him.
Izayoi was just getting up to leave the hall when her still sticky mate rushed her and grabbed her hands looking at her with big sparkling eyes.
“She…she... she called me grandpa!” he said his eyes going from sparkly to dreamy. Izayoi extracted her hands from her mate and shook her head at him, not quite ready to forgive his teasing yet.
“Yes I heard, she also called me Grandma you silly old dog…maybe you should have Haruka check your hearing I think it is going on you.” Izayoi said as she left a stunned Inutaishio in her wake.
“My family is so cruel to me.” He whined dramatically a moment after she had left the room. He looked to his daughter for support only to find her cocking an eyebrow at him and leaving with Shippo and Inuyasha without a word. His guests laughed as he visibly drooped and walked out of the dining hall with his head hung low.
Rin’s voice slowly gained strength in the coming days and soon she could be found talking the ear off anyone who had a free ear to listen. It was decided that Rin would be put into lessons with the two boys as soon as possible. Shippo and Inuyasha were so excited that they began pulling Rin aside in the evenings and tutoring her as soon as they found out.
A few days passed and Ikaru was in her office doing paperwork on her own for a change. Kagome walked in about midday and it didn’t take a genius to see she had something pressing on her mind. Without a word she took what had become her normal seat and began sorting the mountain of documents. They worked like that for a while before Ikaru decided to take a break and ordered some tea.
“What brings you here today sister?” She asked after the maid left. “Not that I don’t appreciate the help, but you seem to have something on your mind.”
“You’re right…” Kagome sighed, “Something has been bothering me since the Elder Council…” She sipped her tea gently.
“Hnn…” Ikaru nodded her head for Kagome to continue, sipping her own tea.
“I just thought it would be harder to gain their approval, they seemed to give in so easily. It wasn’t what I expected at all.” Kagome sighed rubbing her belly absentmindedly.
“You’re right that was a mild council gathering; I have never known them to go so easy on someone trying to mate into the royal families.” Ikaru set her tea down and crossed her arms looking thoughtful.
“Why do you suppose they gave in?” Kagome said looking concerned.
“If I had to hazard a guess I would say Papa had a word with the ancient dog elder before the meeting. It’s possible whatever may have been said swayed his decision. I was equally impressed at how you handled the questioning process.” Ikaru praised smirking when Kagome blushed.
“What about the fear of you and Sesshoumaru?” Kagome said.
“It would appear that worked in your favor this time as I’m sure some of the council was swayed by the fact that both of us had accepted and formed bonds with you.” Ikaru said smirking. “Sister stop fretting over it, once the council makes a decision it’s impossible for them to go back on it.”
“I can’t help it; it all just seemed too easy.” Kagome hung her head.
“I agree, but like I said it’s done and can’t be undone.” Ikaru said ending the conversation to begin again on her paperwork. Before long the stack was gone and she and Kagome went their separate ways.
Three weeks had passed and Ikaru had begun to slowly see a decline in her sister, and even little Rin looked depressed much of the time. What had truly shocked her was when Kagome had come to her one night nears tears and asked to stay in her bed for the night. Ikaru hadn’t questioned it and held her through the night. Come morning Kagome had refused all questions and simply thanked her and went about her daily activities. The following nights she would again come and ask to share her bed, occasionally she would be crying, but most times she was only near tears. Ikaru couldn’t say ‘no’ to her and held her each night until she fell asleep. Late one night Sesshoumaru had entered her bedchamber to try and retrieve Kagome.

Ikaru’s eyes had glowed in the dark, tinting pink, and she had silently snarled at her brother warning him off. He had backed down reluctantly and left. The following morning, once they were both dressed, Ikaru sought Kagome out and didn’t let her off so easily.
“Why do you keep coming to my bed sister? The truth…” Ikaru said with growl of warning. Kagome sighed.
“Because Sesshoumaru isn’t there to share the bed with me, he hasn’t been since the elder council left. I just couldn’t take it anymore…I felt so lonely.” Kagome sniffled. Ikaru hugged her tight and growled softly to sooth her.
“It’s not just you Kagome; the pup needs its sire near. You’re at the stage of your pregnancy that Sesshoumaru should be near you as often as is possible strengthening his bond with the pup and you. Your body was trying to tell you that you need him near. I share the same blood as him and that was enough to take the curb off the need but nothing except his presence will make you feel better.” Ikaru explained.
“But he won’t stay with me no matter what I say, he keeps getting pulled away!” Kagome cried, finally bursting into tears. It took far longer to calm her down this time, but Ikaru finally managed it.
“Sister go and wash your face then I’m taking you out to the gardens.” Ikaru instructed. Kagome nodded numbly and went to do as she was told. When she had washed her face and didn’t look so much of a wreck Ikaru took her out to one of the many gardens and set her down on a secluded bench. “Wait here.” Was all she said before she turned and disappeared.
An instant later she was in front of one of the meeting rooms that the higher generals used. Ikaru could sense her brother and father in the room and her ire rose. Without bothering to knock she slammed open the door, all the men looked at her with equal measures of shock, and some with slight fear. Without any apologies or preamble she stormed into the room and grabbed her brother by his ear and dragged him out of the room slamming the door behind her. When she had him a good distance down the hall she finally released his ear.
“What is the meaning of this Ikaru!” Sesshoumaru growled rubbing his abused ear. Ikaru growled viciously at him and shoved a bundle of flowers in his hands.
“Don’t you dare ask me such useless questions! Go take care of your mate, you have been neglecting her!” Ikaru growled. Understanding dawned on Sesshoumaru. “Go to her aniki, I’ll take care of your meeting.” She said in a much calmer tone. Sesshoumaru nodded and took off to find his mate kicking himself the whole way.
Ikaru returned to the meeting room a few minutes later in a much calmer state.
“Pardon me, Sesshoumaru was called away on urgent business, I will be taking his place.” Ikaru smirked at the generals; Inutaishio was doing his best not to burst out laughing.
“This is unacceptable, what could be more urgent that this meeting?” General Takeshi slammed his fist on the table as Ikaru moved over to the window. She had purposefully placed Kagome in the garden right outside this window, and she was currently watching her brother apologize to Kagome. She smiled when Kagome plowed Sesshoumaru to the ground in an excited hug, the flowers she had given him flying off into the bushes. Turning back to the upset generals she decided to enlighten them.
“A meeting with his mate Takeshi, you all as of late have been keeping him away from her and thus she has become emotionally distressed.” Ikaru said glaring at each and every male in the room including her father. Most of the men cowered appropriately, but not Takeshi.
“She is hardly appropriate to be his mate as it is, what matter is it of ours if she has become distressed. These matters of state are of far more importance that some overly emotional female.” Takeshi snarled. Ikaru had to fight the sudden urge to gut him where he sat, she could tell her father was fighting the same urge, but Ikaru suddenly had a better idea.
“She is pregnant Takeshi, I seem to recall you rushing out of many a meeting to tend to your mates every whim when she was pregnant, how can you justify not allowing my brother the same courtesy?” Ikaru smirked as the general turned red.
“That is beside the point she is still hardly more than a concubine!” He burst.
“Tell me Takeshi…she carries my brother’s pup and mark, she tied me in combat and even received the approval of the elder council what more does she require to be seen as his mate in your eyes?” Ikaru challenged. Takeshi sputtered, it was clear he was the cause of these useless meetings. “He refused your daughter Takeshi, get over it and allow him his happiness, and your daughter hers, she never wanted Sesshoumaru to begin with.” Now that hit home.
“He was considering her…I could tell! She cannot find a better match than the prince! I will not allow her to mate below her station!” He bellowed standing up.
“That is enough Takeshi, I was wondering the purpose of these meetings and now it is clear. You are upset that my son did not choose your daughter, and you are taking it out on Kagome who is innocent. Go home and cool your head, we will finish this meeting without you.” Inutaishio ordered. Takeshi paled at the order and immediately excused himself. Ikaru sat where her brother had been sitting and looked at his notes, noticing a suspiciously blank sheet. Her brother was well known as a meticulous note taker, she forgave him a little bit then because even though he had been forced from Kagome’s side his thoughts were obviously only on her.
That evening at dinner Kagome practically glowed with happiness. Ikaru smirked and finally forgave her brother. What caught her attention next though was the depressed aura around the children, most especially Rin. She decided to get to the bottom of that matter after they had eaten. When dinner was done she called the children to her office.
“What’s the matter with you three?” Ikaru asked. All three children fidgeted refusing to look her in the eye. Then Ikaru caught a strange scent. Like something was trying to be covered up, but the spell had been done improperly? It was hovering around Rin. Ikaru moved closer and took a good sniff. Rin started shaking and fear started to roll off her.
“Turn around boys.” Ikaru ordered. They did as they were told; Ikaru then raised the hem of Rin’s kimono. Her eyes bled red as she saw the welts and blisters that covered Rin’s legs and backside; she had little doubt that her back had similar injuries. She set Rin’s kimono back in place then hugged the shivering and now crying girl to her. “Who did this to you Rin?” Ikaru asked in a much calmer voice than what she felt.
Rin shook her head in Ikaru’s neck and continued to cry holding onto her in a death grip. Ikaru looked to the boys who looked close to tears themselves. Ikaru was at a loss as she brought the boys into her embrace as well.
She decided to call her brother, her low howl echoed in the room. It only took him moments to rush into her office. He saw Ikaru holding all three children and he became concerned with how pale Rin suddenly became as she began crying harder.
“What is the meaning of this?” Sesshoumaru said trying to keep his voice even. He hated seeing his little one so scared.
“Later brother, take the boys and follow me to the infirmary. We’ll get our explanations there.” Ikaru said motioning to the distressed pups in her arms. Sesshoumaru reluctantly complied as he took his brother and the young kit. Ikaru quickly stood with Rin and they quickly made their way to the infirmary.
“Who in the blazes has hurt this child now?!” Haruka growled when she caught Rin’s scent.
“We don’t know yet Haruka, I want them treated first then we will get to the bottom of this.” Ikaru said setting Rin down gently on her feet. She didn’t want to let go of Ikaru’s shirt but Haruka finally managed to convince her. Ikaru gently licked her cheeks free of the tear tracks that were drying there and promised her she would not be far.
Two other nurses were already inspecting Inuyasha and Shippo. Whatever was wrong with them obviously their demonic healing had already mostly healed it. Sesshoumaru stood there watching the nurses closely, red seeping into his eyes as he assessed the damage.
Ikaru quickly returned to Rin’s side. Haruka had her stripped and lying on her stomach. Ikaru’s eyes began to bleed red as she looked at the damage spread over the back of the child in front of her. Rin was by far in much worse shape than the boys. Her weight gain had filled out her body nicely and she had a healthier complexion to her skin. She was no longer the little malnourished girl that her brother had brought home over a month ago, but now her entire backside was covered in welts and blisters, some old and some very fresh. Several were showing signs of infection.
Ikaru took a seat by Rin and held her hand while Haruka went about cleaning out the injuries and applying various salves. Rin lay there not moving. Occasionally she would stiffen when Haruka would run her fingers over a particularly sore spot, but she never uttered a word. Before long Haruka had her bandaged up and was slipping her into a medical yukata. She instructed Rin to lie back on her stomach while she went to fetch some medical tea to fight infections.
“Who did this to you Rin?” Ikaru asked gently smoothing Rins hair back from her face.
“I’m sorry Auntie…I didn’t want to be a burden to everyone…” Rin sniffled, fresh tears making new paths down her cheeks.
“You could never be a burden to us pup.” Sesshoumaru said walking around the divider, Shippo and Inuyasha in tow.
“Dog demons are very protective and possessive Rin.” Sesshoumaru said, at her confused expression Ikaru elaborated.
“That means little one that once we claim you as one of our own; we don’t like giving our things up for others to have and we will defend it with our lives. You are ours we will not permit anyone to harm you if we are able to avoid it, and the only one we will be willing to share you with is the one you will one day choose to spend your life with.” Ikaru chuckled when all three males let loose possessive growls. Rin paled a little at the scary sound. Haruka came back in and glared at all the males who promptly stopped growling.
“Hush up all of you, your scaring the poor thing.” Haruka chastised.
“See what I mean about possessive now. None of them want to see you go.” Ikaru smiled at Rin. Rin looked at the boys.
“Nee-chans right Rin we don’t wanna see you go anywhere!” Inuyasha exclaimed walking over to her and holding her hand and patting it gently.
Ikaru turned Rins head toward her. “So you see little one no matter what you tell us we will think no less of you for it. You cannot get rid of us that easily.” She smiled licking the fresh tear tracts away from her puffy cheeks, but she still refused to speak. Ikaru turned to the boys. Inuyasha looked at Rin with sad eyes then nodded as Rin stiffened.
“It was sensei nee-chan…he doesn’t like Rin. She is trying her best, but if she makes even the smallest mistake he punishes her for it.” Inuyasha sniffled.
“I pulled a prank on him the other day and he took it out on Rin, even though I told him I had done it…I got hit too but nothing like what he did to Rin mama…” Shippo said looking guiltily at Rin.
“Why didn’t you come to us sooner, this has obviously been going on since she started her lessons.” Sesshoumaru chastised the children. The boys looked guilty.
“Rin made us promise not to, she thought it would get better with time and she didn’t want to cause anyone any trouble. We took some of the hits for her when we could but sensei just got more angry at her.” Inuyasha said looking defeated; Ikaru knew he had been proud of being able to protect Rin and this must have seemed to him like he was failing in his self-appointed task. Shippo thought of the girl as his friend and he must have been reliving the pain of being unable to protect the ones he cared about. Ikaru hugged the boys to her with one arm and cuddled Rin as best as she could with the other.
“You should have come to one of us.” Ikaru sighed. “Rin you should have come to your mother or father when it first happened. There is no excuse for your teacher to be punishing you to this extent.” Ikaru nuzzled the shivering girls head. Sesshoumaru stood next to Rin and placed his hand on her head slowly running his finger through her hair as she began crying again.
“There is more you are not telling us.” Sesshoumaru said looking at the boys while he tried to calm his little girl.
“They have told us enough for now aniki. What we need to decide now is how to tell Kagome and how to deal with their sensei.” Rin visibly stiffened and fear rolled off her again strongly.
“Do you have to tell mommy?” Rin whispered desperately trying not to panic.
“She will find out eventually Rin.” Shippo said sadly, knowing nothing like this stays secret for long.
“I will tell her little one.” Sesshoumaru said resuming running his hand through her hair, but she didn’t relax.
“She will not leave you pup have no fear, you have my word on that.” Ikaru reached over the boys and gently ran her fingers down Rin’s cheek. She looked at Ikaru with sad eyes, but there was the faintest glimmer of hope lying there.
“As for their sensei, leave the beginning of the interrogation to me...while I do that tell Kagome what has happened and leave her here with Rin. I will come get you and Papa when it is time to deal out punishment.” Ikaru said rising with the boys in her arms. Rin looked scared as she walked out. Sesshoumaru had already sent a maid to bring his mate to him. He bent down beside his pup and rubbed her cheek before licking it. She looked at him shocked as he wasn’t the type to show such types of affection.
“Promise me little one not to ever keep such secrets from me again. I realize it must be hard for you to trust adults but know that my mate and I want nothing more than to care for you and to raise you as our own.” Sesshoumaru whispered to her before licking her tears away again.
“Sesshoumaru what’s wrong the maid wouldn’t tell me anything…Rin! Oh no what happened?!” Kagome gasped as she rushed to Rin’s side pushing Sesshoumaru out of the way looking her little girl over. She looked up to Haruka for answers a moment later. “Who has hurt my baby…Tell me now…” Kagome said in a dangerous voice, Rin looked up at her scared of the tone of her voice but noticed right away that Kagome had taken up a defensive position over her, her anger not directed at her but at the one who had cause her to be in pain.
“Calm yourself milady, it is not good for the pup you carry to get overly emotional like that. In addition, the little one does not understand, you are scaring her.” Haruka said calmly. Kagome froze and looked down at the frightened gaze of her daughter.
“Oh honey I’m so sorry I’m not angry at you, but whoever dared to hurt you is about to find out why demons feared me so. No one hurts my daughter and gets away with it.” Kagome smiled at her kissing her cheeks lovingly.
“The culprit will be dealt with, mate, stay here with our pup and I will return shortly.” Sesshoumaru said; the amount of affection his mate felt for the pup was obvious.
“Oh no you don’t! I want a piece of him! He hurt my baby and no one is going to keep me from my revenge.” Kagome’s tone left no room for argument. If Sesshoumaru didn’t know any better he would swear his mate was a demon the way she was acting.
“Very well mate…meet me in my father’s study when you are done here.” Sesshoumaru said patting Rin’s head once more before leaving.
“Haruka keep an eye on Rin till I can get back.” Kagome got up kissing Rin once more for good measure before walking away.
Haruka sighed as she sat beside Rin, handed her the cup of medicinal tea. Haruka watched over her while she slowly sipped it, a small smile tilting the little girls lips. She was loved…and she would never doubt it again.
In Ikaru’s study the two boys were a bundle of nerves as Ikaru sent for the sensei, and she used the word loosely.
The sensei had been at the western citadel since before Lady Serenity had passed away. Sesshoumaru and Ikaru had moved on to the school for the Cardinal Lords families long before he had been employed by the castle. Although they had not had any need of his services, he had been instructed to teach the other children of the castle. However, when Inuyasha was born and became old enough for lessons the sensei had been promoted to his personal tutor. His rise in position had apparently gone to his head.
Ikaru had hidden the two boys under her tail and told them to sit there silently until she called for them. A few moments later the badger entered her office looking like he was feeling like the king of the world. Ikaru could feel his ego rolling off him; she gave him a small smirk when she told him to take a seat.
“Welcome sensei, how are you this fine evening?” Ikaru questioned sociably, she was so looking forward to putting this arrogant bastard in his place.
“I am doing wonderfully milady, all the better now that I have been gifted the honor of being allowed in your presence.” He said smoothly bowing his head. Did the arrogant badger think he was going to flirt with her?
“Hnn….Tell me sensei how are the children progressing in their studies?” Ikaru neatly changed the subject.
“Oh the young prince, and your ladyships ward are wonderfully bright students. A sensei could not be luckier than I to have two such wonderful pupils.” The badger smiled charmingly at her.
“I seem to recall you have recently been given charge over the tutelage of my brothers’ young ward. No words of praise for her?” Ikaru asked, keeping her voice carefully neutral, she could feel the boys shaking slightly under her tail.
“Ahh… yes… the little human girl. Unfortunately she has not made much progress in her studies. I am trying, but she has been resistant to being taught anything. I have tried and tried to get through to her but nothing seems to work, she has even become disruptive during lessons. Her presence has even begun to affect the young prince and your wards behavior unfortunately.” The badger looked mournful, but truthfully his acting was horrible. She could smell the lies rolling off him, as well as his hatred.
“Have you had to use any disciplinary measures on her or the boys?” Another question that she had to force her voice into neutrality for.
“Nothing of any extreme milady, occasionally a wrap with my pointer on their desks to keep their attention but never have I laid a hand on them.” The badger lied again.
“Interesting…I have some very conflicting reports with your answers sensei. It is my understanding that you have on many occasions harshly punished my brothers’ ward for even the slightest misunderstanding of the topics. My little brother and ward have also received punishments for trying to protect the little human. Can you explain these reports to me sensei, I would hate for such a monumental misunderstanding to linger.” Ikaru smirked at him as he visibly paled.
“I don’t know where such lies would come from milady. Allow me to confront the accusers and we will bring the truth of this misunderstanding to light!” The badger was starting to sweat a little at this point. Ikaru’s smirk turned more evil as she summoned the boys from beneath her tail. The badger looked in astonishment at the two boys who stood looking much braver than they felt. “What is the meaning of this?”
“The meaning, sensei, is that it has been brought to my attention that you have been bringing harm to these children, little Rin most especially. They show signs of repeated abuse, Rin is covered in blisters and welts at various stages of recovery, and these two have similar injuries. Care to explain sensei?” Ikaru raised her eyebrow at him, daring him to continue lying.
“I…I told you that the human brat was trouble. She has done nothing but cause problems since she began coming to lessons. It was necessary to punish her to try and bring her behavior under control. These two began mimicking her and I had to raise my hand to them as well, thought it pained me to do it.” The badger didn’t disappoint, this lie was more obvious that the last ones.
“I see… Boys…Is this true?” Ikaru said, giving the boys permission to speak.
“He’s lying. Rin hasn’t caused one bit of trouble since she started coming. He would punish her if she only asked a question. Shippo or I would ask the same question and he would always answer us. Shippo pulled pranks and Rin was the one that was blamed even though Shippo would admit it was him. Sometimes she didn’t have to do anything at all and he would beat her. When Shippo and I started interfering to protect her, that’s when he started beating us too...” Inuyasha said managing to sound brave.
“He kept calling Rin names too…like ‘Useless human, Insolent whelp, Brat…” and a lot of other really nasty names. Rin’s actually really smart, she’s really good with numbers, and she is getting better with her letters. Sensei kept treating Rin like she was supposed to have had as much schooling as Inu and me, but for not having any she has been picking up on things really quickly.” Shippo added he too kept his brave face up.
“I see…Well here you have your accusers sensei…” Ikaru said daring him to call the boys liars to their faces. Again the badger didn’t disappoint.
“Boys how could you tell such lies. You know I have always welcomed any students who have come to me regardless of race.” The badger looked pleadingly at the boys, but there was glint of maliciousness hiding in his eyes the boys didn’t miss.
“Any demon race…you would tell me a lot before Shippo and Rin started coming to lessons that you hated humans and you tried to get me to hate them too.” Inuyasha frowned folding his arms over his chest.
“I see. It appears sensei you have failed to perform your assigned duties. You have also brought harm to the children of the royal family. To top it all off you have lied to me.” Ikaru cocked her eyebrow at him. “Tell me do you know the penalty of what you have done?”
“Ye…Yes…milady…a public flogging and banishment are the penalties…” That badger demon gulped.
“Those are the punishment for two of your offences…what is the punishment of the last?” Ikaru smirked at him; he paled to a ghostly white.
“E…Ex….Execution…but please milady anything but that….please I have faithfully served your household for many centuries, show mercy!” He fell to the ground groveling.
“I will see to it you receive the floggings coming to you. However the fate of your life I will leave in my brothers’ hands as his pup was the most severely affected by your actions. You are forthwith relieved of your position, and should you live I will see to it you will never practice it again. Guards! Take him to the dungeon. I will be down to dole out his punishment myself shortly.” The guards came in and dragged the pleading man out of the room. Ikaru stood and patted the shaking boy’s heads. “You both did very well.”
“Aniki won’t let him live will he?” Inuyasha asked. Ikaru shook her head.
“He signed his fate the moment he laid his hands on Rin.” Ikaru said looking down at the boys.
“He won’t let him die slowly will he?” Shippo asked.
“It’s unlikely aniki will let him leave this life easily.” Ikaru said. “Now you two go back and check on Rin, Haruka should have her patched up by now. I’ll see you both in the morning.” The boys nodded and ran off. Ikaru was proud of the progress Shippo was making, he still had nightmares but during the day it seemed Inuyasha and Rin were slowly helping to ease the loss of his family by taking him in as theirs. Ikaru smirked at the thought.
“Boys one more thing…” She said walking over to them. “If anything like this happens again you both be sure to come and tell one of us immediately do you understand?” She said seriously. Both boys nodded sadly. She hugged both of then soundly before sending them on their way and heading to her father’s study. She wasn’t surprised to find her sister among the people present.
“Ikaru who hurt my baby, no one will tell me anything.” Kagome growled. Ikaru raised an eyebrow at her and looked to her father and brother both seemed to be fighting their beasts for control.
“The badger that was assigned to teach them apparently didn’t appreciate having to teach a human.” Ikaru said simply. Kagome saw red.
“I knew we couldn’t trust that bastard with my baby!! Where is he Ikaru?” Ikaru raised her eyebrow at her again and Kagome growled louder letting her anger get the better of her.
“Calm yourself sister. We all have a stake in this. The kit and my brother were unjustly injured by him as well.” Ikaru said trying to calm her.
“I’m siding with Kagome.” Inutaishio said starting to move to leave, he growled in warning at Ikaru when she stepped in his way.
“I want to gut the bastard just as much as you do, but what fun would there be in that. It is far too easy a demise for one who has wronged us so.” Ikaru said with a devious smile.
“What do you have planned sister.” Sesshoumaru said…The red leaving his eyes ever so slightly. It had taken every ounce of his control to keep from going into a killing spree upon seeing the injuries to the pups, even more control to keep his own pup from seeing the anger he was feeling. Her already fragile emotions would surely have caused her to misinterpret his anger and cause her to fear him, something he never wished to happen.
“Simple aniki…we each take a turn at him…but we must limit our punishments to nonlethal measures until the very end. That way we each can have our revenge for the injuries imparted upon our little ones by that bastard.” Ikaru smirked. Everyone quickly agreed and they left for the dungeon. Trussed up in one of the torcher rooms was the former sensei.
“So who will go first?” Inutaishio smirked at the cowering badger.
“Ladies first?” Sesshoumaru suggested sensing how his mate was itching to have at the badger and not trusting himself not to take lethal measures right off the bat.
“Well said musuko, it’s up to you two to decide who goes first.” Inutaishio said taking a step back. Ikaru didn’t say a word; she just stepped back and let Kagome have the first round.
“I knew we couldn’t trust you with my daughter the moment I met you…I should have trusted my instincts then.” Kagome growled at him.
“She isn’t even your daughter, she just a little street urchin you and the prince took pity upon, she should have been happy I was willing to teach her what I did.” The badger smirked at her. Kagome’s eyes filled with rage and she walked toward the immobilized demon.
“Tell me something fool…have you ever heard of the human that demons warn their children about…” Kagome whispered to him, a cruel smirk twisting her features when he nodded in confusion. “Well congratulations you have just managed to piss said human off…” Kagome said a moment before her fist flew and hit his gut. She hit him hard enough that you could hear the wall behind him echo with the impact. His breath was instantly knocked out of him, and he was left gasping trying to regain it. Her fist next connected with his jaw and there was the distinctive sound of bones shattering. His jaw hung open and his tongue was sticking out as blood poured past his lips. Kagome hit him only twice more, this time shattering his left hip and knee. His screams filled the dungeon.
Ikaru took Kagome’s place and held a cat of nine tails. She wasted no time in inflicting her punishment upon the lying bastard. She kept her promise and gave him a thorough flogging. His screams were pleasing to her baser instincts. Her last act upon him was taking a pair of tongs and pulling out his lying tongue in one swift tug and melting it with her poison claws.
Inutaishio made sure to break every one of his ribs one at a time, waiting just enough time in between for him to get over the initial pain then moving on to the next rib. He also castrated him in the slowest most painful way he knew. The badger started screaming the moment the incisions began then cut off as Inutaishio ripped his testicles out and melted them with his poisons.
Sesshoumaru purposefully waited a short time for the badger to recover slightly before he began his revenge. The bastard was broken and bleeding, his beast was pleased, but still wishing to exact revenge of his own. He gripped the badgers head and lifted it so he was looking him in the eye.
“Now you will learn the meaning of true pain…” He whispered dangerously low his eyes bleeding red. The badger started shaking and pissed himself again. He had constantly been pissing himself through the whole ordeal as each new participant took their turn, even shitting his pants at one point. The smell was annoying to their sensitive noses, but what Sesshoumaru had in mind would leave a much more pleasing aroma lingering. His claws began glowing an interesting shade of green and he began making tiny pin pricks along the legs of the badger, going just deep enough to get into his blood stream. His acid was highly destructive in nature, but the small amounts he had injected would insure a slow and excruciating demise for the one who had dare to harm what was his. Green, sweet smelling, smoke began rising from the puncture sites and the badgers garbled screams soon followed. He twisted in his bindings as the poison slowly dissolved him from the inside out.
It took an hour of watching before the badgers heart finally gave out. The occupants who had remained slowly left the corpse to finish dissolving; knowing that by morning there would be nothing left to worry about burying.

Quite the vindictive bunch no? I know I know I’ve been gone forever, but life sometimes gets in the way. I hope those of you who have stuck with me will forgive me, especially for any mistakes I’m sure I missed. I tried to make this chapter a little longer to make up for the fact I’ve been gone so long.
If anyone was wondering why everyone who had a strong sense of smell had been overlooking Rin being hurt. She was with the group of men for quite a while before she was saved by Kagome and Sesshoumaru, and she unfortunately was subjected to many beatings during her time there. She developed a very high tolerance for pain, thus she could stand the beatings the sensei was inflicting on her. A good bath after the lessons concluded washed away the scent, thus she was able to pull off the ruse. The only reason she was caught by Ikaru was because some of her blisters had broken and a bath couldn’t wash away the scent of the oozing sores, so she asked Shippo to cast a concealing spell on her to hide the evidence, but he hadn’t fully mastered the spell yet.
