CHAPTER 18, PART III - Out of the Pan and Into the Fire

“Damned if I know. But one thing I know for sure, Your Highness: I’ll catch the bastard and make him pay,”
Inuyasha vowed, the hard glint of determination lighting his eyes. The king nodded his ascent, satisfied with his answer.
“Another ball will be held here the following week, to celebrate the newly-wedded members of the ton. We’ll put our plan into motion then,”
“What if Kikyou and Norfolk don’t come?”
“I’ve made sure they will appear. The invitation is a royal edict; they know what will happen to them if they dare to disobey,”
Inuyasha grunted his approval. The king really knew how to use his power－and use it to his advantage he did.
Quite ruthlessly so, and Inuyasha admired him for it.
“Well, if that’s all I’d better go get my wife before the queen sets her ears on fire with all her chatter,”
Sesshomaru couldn’t stop the laughter that came with his friend’s statement. Inuyasha did know his wife quite well.
“I’ll tell her you said that,”
His only answer was a backward wave from Inuyasha as he left.

Inuyasha found his wife where he left her. Apparently the queen has yet to feel the need to stop talking. He had to admire Kagome though,
she really looked like she was hanging onto the queen’s every word. Although he found it amusing, it was time to save his wife.
He cleared his throat to announce his arrival.
“And there was this one time when－ Oh, Inuyasha, you’re back,”
“Yes, Your Highness. I’m here to fetch my wife,”
“Oh my. Has it grown that late already? I’m so sorry for keeping you here with me all this time, Kagome. I do enjoy your company so,”
“Oh no, Your Highness, you have no need to apologize. I’m glad that you were willing to share your afternoon with me.
I hope we can do it again sometime soon. Her Majesty always tells the most curious stories,”
Rin beamed at Kagome, delighted at what she had said.
“Did you hear that, Inuyasha? Kagome really is delightful. Am I ever so glad you ended up marrying her,”
“Yes, my wife is a constant delight isn’t she? But we have to get going now, Your Majesty.
It’s almost time for dinner and I believe the king would love your company,”
The queen snorted inelegantly.
“You just want to have Kagome all to yourself, Inuyasha. I know. Well go on, don’t let me keep you. I’ll have to find Sesshomaru too.
That man will forget about dinner if left to his own devices,”
They bowed to the queen before exiting the room. As they walked together towards their rooms, Inuyasha couldn’t help but tease Kagome.
“You’re amazing, wife. How do you do that?”
Kagome looked up at him in puzzlement.
“How do I do what?”
“How can you look like you’re actually enjoying the queen’s incessant chatter?”
Kagome had to put a hand to her mouth to stifle the laughter that bubbled within her. Her husband was a real rascal.
Making sure nobody heard him, she nudged her elbow to his side.
“That’s rude, you know. What if someone hears you talking about the queen like that? Besides, I do enjoy Her Majesty’s company.
Her stories are very... colorful,”
“What was she talking about?”
It was Kagome’s turn to tease her husband. She smiled secretively.
“That’s a secret between me and Her Majesty,”
Now Inuyasha’s interest was piqued. He waited until they were in their chambers before pestering Kagome again.
“Tell me, wife. What did the queen tell you? Was it about me?”
Kagome held back her smile. Inuyasha could be like a dog with a bone sometimes, especially when he thinks that he’s left out of something.
“It was nothing important, Inuyasha. No need to overly concern yourself,”
She was removing the pins from her hair when she was suddenly lifted up in the air. Letting out a shriek of surprise,
she automatically threw her arms around Inuyasha’s neck.
“What do you think you’re doing, Inuyasha? Put me down!”
Inuyasha grinned mischievously at her.
“Your wish is my command, wife,”
He then proceeded to drop her onto the bed with a flop. Before Kagome could arise, Inuyasha was already covering her,
effectively pinning her down with his body.
“We have no time for this, Inuyasha! We have to－”
“But you’ve been a very naughty girl, Kagome. I think I have to punish you,”
Inuyasha whispered hotly against her mouth, a wicked glint in his eyes. Knowing what was going to happen next,
Kagome turned her head to the side so he couldn’t kiss her. Undeterred, Inuyasha went for the side of her neck.
Kagome couldn’t bite back the moan that escaped her as he licked that delicate spot.
“Stop it, Inuyasha,”
She said in a half-hearted attempt to stop her husband from ravishing her.
Inuyasha’s answer was to bite her ear as his hand moved to slowly wind a pattern from her neck to her chest.
Kagome could feel the delicious chill that went through her with his ministrations.
“Why not, Kagome? You know you want to,”
Inuyasha whispered teasingly in her ear as his fingers went to untie the ribbons of her dress. Kagome mentally slapped herself for her blunder.
Why did she have to wear a gown with the ties in front today, of all days?
Her breasts spilled free from their confinement and Inuyasha wasted no time at all to feel their fullness.
Gently palming the twin globes in both hands, he continued the assault to his wife’s defenses. Kagome’s eyes were closed now,
a sensual moan torn from her lips as Inuyasha rolled her nipples between his fingers. Sanity was slowly slipping away as she opened her eyes
to see her husband wet his fingers in his own mouth before cupping her sex through her skirt. She could feel the heat of his hand through
her drawers, sending a wave of pleasure over her. She unconsciously spread her legs further as she shamelessly tilted her hips to his hand.
“God Kagome, I can feel how wet you are for me already,”
Inuyasha whispered darkly before capturing her mouth with his as he slipped a finger inside her moist crevice. He swallowed her scream of delight
as his tongue mimicked the movement of his finger, in and out and then in again. His thumb brushed upon her hardening nub
and Kagome cried out at the intense pleasure he was giving her. Thrashing her head from side to side, she pleaded to her husband.
“Inuyasha, please,”
“Please what, wife?”
Now two fingers were pushing inside her as Inuyasha laved a nipple with his tongue before sucking it hard into his mouth.
His thumb never lost its’ rhythm as he took her over the edge, only to slow down before she reached her climax.
Kagome was panting now, desperate for the release her body craved. In frustration, she pulled on her husband’s hair to get his attention.
“Inuyasha, I want it,”
“Then you’re going to have to say it, Kagome. What exactly is it that you want?”
He was going to make her beg for it, the cad!
“I－I want you,”
“Want me how?”
Kagome did her best to give her husband a venomous look with desire still in her eyes as her husband’s fingers worked their magic inside her.
Her eyes were starting to roll back as she shouted:
“Damn it, Inuyasha! I want you inside me, now!”
Inuyasha laughed sexily at his wife’s demanding admission. In answer, he moved to strip free of his clothes in front of his wide-eyed wife. He then proceeded to divest her of her clothing until nothing remained.
Kagome was breathing hard as her gaze was locked onto his impressive member. Without waiting for permission, she dipped her head
to his stomach to take him into her mouth.
Inuyasha’s breath hissed as he felt the warmth of Kagome’s mouth envelope him. He had only made her do this once,
afraid she would be repulsed by it. But Kagome surprised him by saying it only made her want him more when she could taste him.
She was making good on her promise.
Slowly sliding downward in order to take more of him in her mouth, she added her tongue to the play, coiling on his member like a snake in frenzy.
She took him until she could feel him at the back of her throat, making Inuyasha moan in passion. Bobbing her head upside down now,
she established a rhythm that drove Inuyasha out of his mind. The wet, sucking sounds that she made and the feel of her hot, wet mouth
as she sucked him dry almost pushed him over the edge.
“Enough!”
Inuyasha growled approvingly as he dragged Kagome by the hair in order to kiss her deeply. Then he pushed her to the bed, face-first.
“On your knees, wife,”
Kagome could feel herself tightening with desire at her husband’s command. Inuyasha knew she loved being taken from behind.
With anticipation roaring in her blood, she did as he said, spreading her knees wide. Her glistening sex was now within Inuyasha’s eyes,
and he tasted her just as she had tasted him. Her wild cries were muffled as she buried her face into the mattress, feeling each lash
of his tongue and each suckle of his mouth on her. Just when she thought that she could take no more, Inuyasha dragged her hips
and impaled himself inside her.
The sensation had them both crying out loud, and Inuyasha had to grit his teeth against the delicious feeling as her inner walls tightened on him.
Slowly pulling out of her before slowly going back in, he deliberately intensified the sweet torture as he built his rhythm.
Kagome was wont to push her hips back hard to take him in quickly, but Inuyasha’s having none of that. Holding her hips in a vise-
like grip, he continued to titillate them both to ecstasy.
“Damn it, husband, move faster!”
Kagome was nearing her peak now, and Inuyasha gave in to his basic instinct, slamming inside her harder than the last to Kagome’s delight.
He rode her hard and fast, the sound of flesh hitting against flesh louder now as he contrived to bring them into fruition.
Kagome gave a wild cry and bucked her hips against his as she felt herself falling apart.
“Inuyasha!”
Feeling her throbbing sex all around him pushed Inuyasha to the edge. Growling in satisfaction, he pumped himself faster
as he emptied his seed inside her. He collapsed onto the bed, holding her tight against him as they gasped for breath.
Very later on, they remembered the dinner party they had to attend. They managed to arrive, but was very tardy than propriety allowed.
Looking at the smug look on the face of the duke and the permanent blush that was covering the duchess’ cheeks, one had to be very naive
not to know the reason why they were late.
As they watched the Duke of Windshire with his bride, they could not help but exclaim on how more relaxed he was,
his smile coming much easier now than it had before. At the end of the evening, everyone came to the conclusion that
the new Duchess of Windshire was a good match for him.
All but one, as a pair of eyes watched the lovers coldly and unobtrusively through the night.
