Chapter 37: Where Did Time Go?

A/N: Time for another leap forward in time. A bigger one this time! Inuyasha realizes all too suddenly that his children are not so little anymore. Will he be able to cope?
Many years had come and gone since Lord Inutaisho had passed and made his journey into the realm of the dead. Sesshomaru was now the lord of all the Western lands which made Rin inherit the title of Lady of the Western lands. They were busy raising their three children. The twins Kohana and Kiyoshi were both fourteen years old now and their third child, Denmaru was now ten years old. Kohana was becoming more like her mother in her physical appearance everyday. Her ink black hair was long and thick and flowed nearly to her waist. Kohana�s face was lovely with her stunning smoky gray eyes and her pale blue crescent moon that hung in the middle of her forehead. Her lips were a delicious shade of pink and were plump and enticing. Atop her pretty head were white and furry dog ears that were tipped in black.
Kohana was truly a breathtaking vision but she had not inherited her mother�s kindhearted nature. Kohana only looked like an angel with her small delicate bone structure, small pert breasts, curved hips, and long shapely legs. The truth was that Kohana had indeed inherited her father�s cold and distant ositosition. She was extremely callous and did not have much patience either. Kiyoshi was like her complete opposite. He was kind and gentle and very patient. Kiyoshi had grown up to become quite a hame yme young man indeed. He was tall built and had bronzed skin like his mother�s from being out in the sun so much. Kiyoshi�s eyes were the same piercing amber as his father�s and he had the same striking physical attributes as Sesshomaru, but that is where the similarities came to an end.
He had long thick coal black hair and the same pale blue crescent moon on his forehead as his sister. His ears were the same white as Kohana�s and also tipped in black. Denmaru was the child who turned out to be an equal mix of both Sesshomaru and Rin. He had long thick raven hair that shone like silk in the sunlight and the same warm chocolate brown eyes as his mother. Denmaru�s forehead had been marked with a silver crescent moon at his birth and he had also been blessed with white dog ears that were tipped with black. He was turning out to be a free spirit who spoke his mind without fear from anyone. Denmaru was very much his own person and he seemed to not bother trying to please everyone else.
Inuyasha and Kagome�s pups had grown up rather quickly as well. Their precious little first born, Amaiya, was now sixteen and was practically hell on wheels. She had become quite lovely with long and thick coffee bean brown hair that fell to her waist. Her violet eyes were stunning and held many of the palace�s younger guards captive when she stared at them. Amaiya�s little girl figure had transformed into that of a woman�s almost overnight much to Inuyasha�s dismay. She was small and slender with medium sized and very perky breasts. Her hips had become enticingly curved and her legs incredibly shapely. Amaiya had all of her mother�s beauty but only a fraction of her gentle spirit. Instead Amaiya had taken after her father by being blunt and sometimes flat out rude. She often hurt people�s feelings without really meaning too.
Tanmaru was now fourteen and was beginning to look so much like Inuyasha that it was uncanny. He had long thick black hair and his eyes had turned the same blue gray color as his mother�s. Tanmaru was tall and extremely built for his age. He was easy going and very kindhearted like Kagome. Their youngest child, Nyssa was now thirteen and was becoming amazingly beautiful. She was tall for her age and slender with long thick ink black hair and gorgeous slate gray eyes. Nyssa was an even mix of Kagome and Inuyasha. She was genuinely sweet but could definitely stand her ground.
The palace was relatively quiet that morning and Inuyasha was out on their territory at the eastern border of their lands. He was waiting for Amaiya who had begged him to accompany her to the cold spring so that she could take a nice relaxing swim in the cold water. He sat with his back to the cold spring and was looking up into the cloudless blue sky. Amaiya ducked underneath the bone chillingly cold water to wet her hair. When she resurfaced she noticed something move out of the corner of her right eye. Wiping the water from her eyes Amaiya peered into the small bushes that skirted the cold springs. Then she finally saw what had flashed in her peripheral vision just moments ago.
There standing before her was the most beautiful man she had ever laid eyes on. He was tall and very built with dark raven hair that was swept back into a ponytail. His eyes were a beautiful dark green that reminded Amaiya of the forest and his skin was bronzed from long days spent in the sun. He looked down at Amaiya and smiled making her blush instantly. �Hello.� Inuyasha�s ears perked up to the sound of the young man�s voice and he turned around carefully to see who was speaking to his daughter.
�Hi.�
�What�s a pretty maiden like yourself doing alone?�
�Oh I�m not alone my father is only a short ways away.�
�I see. What�s your name?�
�Amaiya, what�s yours?�
�My name is Koharu and it�s a pleasure to meet you. Amaiya, such a lovely name for such a lovely maiden.� Her cheeks burned intensely from her blush and she let out a giggle that sounded so sugary sweet that it nearly made Inuyasha�s teeth hurt just listening to it.
�So Koharu, where are you from?�
�I�m the prince of all the Northern wolf youkai people. You?�
�I�m a princess of the Western lands.�
�You�re a descendant of the great Lord Inutaisho?�
�Oh yes, he was my grandfather.�
�Amazing. Well Amaiya, I have to get back to my brother Kouga�s palace before he starts to worry, but I would like very much to see you again.�
�So would I. Please come back and visit me tomorrow?�
�I would be honored to. Farewell.�
�Goodbye Koharu.� Amaiya watched him leave and then stepped out of the cold sg heg her body dripping from the cold water. She pulled on a thin ivory robe and walked over to join her father.
�Amaiya, why were you conversing with that wolf demon?�
�Because he was nice.�
�He is Kouga�s brother and you will not see him again.�
�Daddy you can�t tell me what to do anymore!�
�Oh the hell I can�t! You�re my child and no daughter of mine is going to start a relationship with Kouga�s brother!� Amaiya glared at her father her violet eyes blazing with anger.
�I�m not your little girl anymore Daddy! If I choose to see Koharu then you must respect my decision, end of discussion!� She turned and headed back for the palace with Inuyasha on her heels.
�Damn it Amaiya, you will respect me, I�m your father! Are you listening to me? Amaiya!� Amaiya continued to ignore her father�s angry shouts. Inuyasha was seething with anger as he watched Amaiya walk upstairs to her room without so much as a backward glance at him. �Damn that girl and her rebellious spirit! Kagome was right, Amaiya is just like me! How the hell am I going to control her?� He sank down on the bottom steps and rested his head in his hands feeling incredibly defeated. Things were not going as he had planned with his oldest daughter and he hated the idea of not being able to control what she did.
