Lord Ken had finally gotten through the throngs of humans that had taken over most of his lands wondering if the laws that had allowed humans to thrive would be changed. He had sold much of his lands to the Inu No Tashio hoping that there was a chance that the populations would be monitored and new laws would be put in place on where these humans could live, but instead there was multitudes of them and Lord Ken had to travel in disguise as one of them just to get out of his lands safely.

So far there were no priests or priestesses in the area so he felt fairly secure in the fact that he would not be detected, but it was difficult keeping the spell going and as soon as he was out of the main city he could teleport himself and his men to Lord Sesshoumaru’s castle, that is if he had any energy left.

Lord Ken wondered at the urgency of this meeting, but in some ways was glad of it so that he could catch up on the debts he owed. Trying to remain fashionable and appear wealthy was dwindling the fortune he had one time amassed. Now it was time to decide if selling more of his lands was worth the price he would offer to the Inu No Tashio. It was either that or he would need to sell off more of his family’s heirlooms which wasn’t really an option Ken wanted to consider. As long as he had his castle and the land it was upon that was enough for the Kens until they could build back the fortunes and buy back the lands he had sold. He only had two large portions of land left and a demon city that was under his jurisdiction. Ken wanted to keep the city at least so he would offer up the two lands that he had left and consider a new position for himself since a Lord had to own more land than his own in order to be in the same category as the North and South.

Even with such a small amount of territory owned, Ken would still have enough to give his family a good life and hopefully persuade Lady Inuyasha to join him so he could inherit some of the Western lands once again. Desperation was indeed the calling that Lord Ken had lived under since after trying everything he knew he could not keep the lands running as they had done for his Father. Much like Sesshoumaru Ken was forced into his role as a new Lord after his Father had died in some tragic battle over a human woman. The only comfort that Lord Ken had was that his Father had not had a child with the woman although after meeting Lady Inuyasha Ken wondered if he would have hated a hanyou child as Lord Sesshoumaru had done.

The thoughts that plagued him really didn’t matter anymore. Ken knew it was only a matter of time before the humans took over his homeland and unless the laws were changed humans would thrive. There had been balance before when demons hunted humans, but now that humans were not being hunted anymore they were becoming the dominant species and their numbers alone in the Eastern lands would eventually be Lord Ken’s undoing. He only hoped the Inu No Tashio would listen to him before it was too late for them all.

Choukichi settled into the lifestyle of the wolves quite well, but his sister Lelune was uncertain if it was such a wise decision to allow her elder brother to stay in the North.

Of course Choukichi only stated it was temporarily and that he was looking for a male mate who would come back to live in the South with him, but so far most of the available males were already mated. So Choukichi used his time with the wolves to sort things out for himself since he was pretty much left alone most of the time.

Choukichi really wanted to move past his obsession with Shippo, but it was difficult since he never forgot that passionate night they shared before he was sent away and it was so hard not to be jealous of Sven when the beautiful falcon demon had Shippo’s favor over all others including Fuu who was still mated to Shippo for some reason. He had expected Shippo to give Fuu her freedom from him after she had bore pups for him. Instead the tiny Inu female remained by Shippo’s side.

The fact Shippo still wanted a female lover almost disgusted Choukichi. Why wasn’t he good enough for Shippo other than the fact that they both were Alpha males? Couldn’t they look past all this protocol and make a new law that would allow love to be the guide?

Fact was Shippo changed a lot and the changes in him also made Choukichi hold back on his feelings for his cousin. He didn’t want a cold mate and now that Shippo was the Lord of the South he had changed into a royal asshole much like Lord Sesshoumaru where he didn’t seem to have a care in the world for anyone who disagreed with him.

In fact Shippo still went to Lord Sesshoumaru for advice rather than coming to his own family for advice. It was as if Shippo no longer cared for his family. It was sad really and even Choukichi’s Father, Lord Lin, felt frustrated that Shippo did not come to him for advice anymore although the elder Lord was quite proud of his young nephew. Shippo indeed made a good leader and was prospering quite well in the South. The people loved Shippo and respected him.

The only thing that was good about Shippo’s becoming a Lord to Choukichi was that Choukichi had the honor of taking his place when Shippo had to go survey his lands or deal with problems outside of the enormous castle that Shippo had expanded so that his children and guests would have larger rooms to occupy. Several of these rooms had a private bathing chamber and were decorated with rich gold and red designs that made the palace a much more luxurious habitat for those who were lucky enough to see the inside of this monolith that was built in honor of Shippo’s Father.

Although he was used to the pampered life of a Lord, Choukichi didn’t want to go home in many ways after seeing how these wolves lived. There was such freedom for a man here and the pack members treated each other like family looking out for one another and joking with each other. It was no wonder Lelune wanted to stay here with them.

Still there were no single males of mating age available here. With Kouga gone he also could not go to Kouga’s brother tribes to see if it was the same there since the few eligible males that were even slightly attractive had cropped off their hair to show their subservience to Lord Kouga. Choukichi refused to crop off his hair and he really did not want a mate that acted like a servant to him as these short haired wolves seemed to act in his presence. There were very few wolves that did not have their hair as long and luxurious as Kouga’s. It seemed only the sons of the Wolf Lord had the privilege of wearing their hair long and as far as Choukichi knew, these wolf children of Kouga’s were off limits to one such as him although Choukichi was not that much older than Kouga’s eldest.

Kouga’s eldest son had the long silky onyx hair of his Father, but the piercing green eyes of his Mother. He was a beautiful creature, but he too was mated to a silver haired beauty. Fuyuki was mated to Hana of Sesshoumaru’s first littler and seemed to be happy just mated to her after unmating his cousin to be with the Inu demoness. The young man seemed to be smitten with his wife as Choukichi watched the two of them kissing out in the open as Hana held the hand of their young son who had long silvery hair like his Mother and the green eyes of his Father.

Daichi, Kouga’s second eldest was mated to Sango, but instead of having Sango’s silver hair their daughter had the bright red hair of Daichi and the golden eyes of her Mother. They too seemed happy and to be honest Choukichi did not want to be with another red head since it would only remind him of being with Shippo.

Choukichi guessed he must be picky, but he honestly wouldn’t feel right being mated to someone he felt no attraction for. All there was for him to do now was to wait for Kouga to return and see if he had time to introduce Choukichi to his brother tribes.

Choukichi was certain that Shippo would probably be angry with him for taking off like he did and not telling anyone where he was going. Still, this was his life and Choukichi deserved to find the mate he longed for. Choukichi considered that if he had to remain alone forever he would indeed find a way to perish, be it the battlefields or by his own hand. He couldn’t live a lie anymore and hoped beyond hope that there was someone out there waiting for him.

Meanwhile back at Sesshoumaru’s palace, Prince Kouga was the first to arrive out of all of the Lords. Shippo showed up soon after since he had to persuade his Uncle Lin to watch over things while he was gone. That only left Lord Ken, but Sesshoumaru wasn’t surprised by this since the Lord of the East lived the furthest away.

Sesshoumaru was shocked that Kouga brought cat demons with him, but figured that he could explain himself and soon. It certainly was not protocol to bring an enemy to his front door especially with the cats being in true form. Cats did not belong in canine territories and after one had raped Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru did not trust them.

After the tiger demons were taken away to one of the adjourning rooms to wait Sesshoumaru rounded on Kouga.

“What is the meaning of this?”

Kouga looked dumbly at Sesshoumaru.

“What are you talking about?”

Sesshoumaru couldn’t believe it. Inuyasha was right. Kouga really did not have a brain.

“The cat demons you moronic wolf.”

Kouga then realized the problem.

“Oh…….those cat demons. Don’t worry about them they are nice for cat demons. I figured you might be able to come up with a solution for them since they got no place to stay.”

Sesshoumaru really wanted to throttle Kouga, but something inside of him said he would get to torment the wolf later. Kouga was definitely going to sign that idiot for the day document and Inuyasha was also probably right about the Lords listening to him when he set out his plans to cull the human populations into something more manageable since the populations in the East were on the rise to catastrophic proportions.

“I will deal with you later on this matter Prince Kouga. Right now we have more pressing matters to discuss as it seems Lord Ken has finally arrived.”

Lord Ken walked forward looking around for Lady Inuyasha who unfortunately was not with Lord Sesshoumaru at this time. It was a bit disappointing, but he had other concerns and perhaps the absence of the lovely creature would be beneficial since he couldn’t afford distractions at this time.

Sesshoumaru walked forward towards the meeting room without another word to any of the Lords since they all knew by now that they were to just follow the Inu No Tashio since he was Alpha.

Once everyone entered the room the doors were soundly shut as the guards took their places by the entrance to insure that no one would try to enter or leave the room without the express permission of Lord Sesshoumaru himself.

Inuyasha was bored as hell. Thoren had wandered off to go graze a bit since the palace food at times was a little too rich for the unicorn. Thoren lately had been wandering off on his own a bit more although he never left the castle grounds since Sesshoumaru promised that if he tried he would be horsewhipped literally. Sesshoumaru had a nice riding crop that he just procured and was ready to use on his lover’s asses.

Inuyasha had a taste of the crop, but pretty much just laid there wondering if it was going to be over soon cause it didn’t do a damn thing for him. It didn’t matter how hard Sesshoumaru whacked his bare behind with it since Inuyasha just would yawn and fall asleep when Sesshoumaru was punishing him. Eventually Sesshoumaru stopped trying to punish Inuyasha all together since his wife seemed impervious to pain.

Thoren however was a totally different case. Thoren actually begged Sesshoumaru in tears to stop and Inuyasha called him a wimp for it. Thoren just didn’t know how to handle pain and it was such a new thing in the three demon’s relationship that Sesshoumaru figured in time he would eventually come up with something that would actually work on Inuyasha. Inuyasha of course looked at his mate like he was a moron for even suggesting that he would find something to punish him with. Life had been difficult enough for the hanyou when he was on his own so there really wasn’t much anymore that would faze him.

The only thing bothering Inuyasha was that tomorrow night was the night of the new moon and he would become human which Sesshoumaru seemed to enjoy much to the frustration of Inuyasha who hated that night above all others. It totally sucked to be so damn weak and he wasn’t allowed to leave their bedroom without escort for the whole time he was transformed since being royal meant there were always assassins who wanted to kill you.

Sesshoumaru had taught Inuyasha how to defend himself during his human times, but really what was the damn point of that when Sesshoumaru would just ravish him in the middle of training since the big pervert seemed to take after Father enjoying his night of being kinky with the human Inuyasha. It went from training with pole arms to having a Sesshoumaru pole up his ass.

The worst part of it all was that Sesshoumaru would have him so tightly wrapped up in his mokomoko all night so he couldn’t get up to go to the bathroom without having to wake Sesshoumaru up which meant he was followed into the bathroom by his mate to insure his safety and then shortly after he was to be ravished again until dawn so either way he got little to no sleep.

Inuyasha knew he should be used to not sleeping since before he was mated he wouldn’t sleep on his human night for safety reasons. It just seemed that now that he was in the arms of the most powerful demon ever known to the world that Inuyasha should feel safe enough to sleep now and felt a bit pissed off that Sesshoumaru didn’t understand why he needed more sleep on that night than any other. Perhaps if Sesshoumaru turned into a human once a month he would understand. Unfortunately sleep was a luxury that only came when Sesshoumaru was busy doing Lord shit. Even Thoren agreed that Sesshoumaru was a monster when it came to sex. Who knew the quiet one was the one you had to watch out for when it came to sex?

Today sucked even more than yesterday since the stupid Lords were here again in some pathetic meeting to do Lord shit. That meant more ogling from Lord Ken if he was unlucky enough to run into the bastard that didn’t seem to get it in his thick skull that he wasn’t interested. Then there was Kouga the idiot wolf who would probably bug him, but in some ways dealing with the idiot wolf was a lot better than sitting in a room sewing up another kimono for his and Sesshoumaru’s anniversary. Next year Inuyasha swore he was going to do something more manly for Sesshoumaru since he was running out of ideas on new designs.

Today Sesshoumaru was wearing the kimono he made him last year out of white silk and deep navy blue honeycomb that instead of embroidering it together he painted the designs on by hand with an ink that was waterproof and did not run nor fade. Inuyasha had learned a lot from a famous tailor how to make the designs stick and look their best. Inuyasha still hand stitched the material together and Sesshoumaru’s kimono looked much like the blood red one that Sesshoumaru wore for many years. The only difference was the color and the obi. The obi was silver and white rather than the gold and royal blue of his old kimono.

Inuyasha decided since he was so bored that he would take a walk around the castle and maybe visit the rooms that he had not been in for a long time now. It was important for the Lady of the Manor to insure all guest rooms were cleaned daily. There was also the fact something smelled suspiciously like cat demon although it wasn’t as foul as it had been with the cat that had raped him. In some ways it was almost pleasant.

Curiosity getting the better of Inuyasha, he decided to find out where this smell was coming from. Perhaps Sesshoumaru hired on some new servant or something. Inuyasha’s husband was always doing things like that without telling his wife what was going on.

Following the scent trail, Inuyasha wandered towards the front gates where one of the many guests might wait for Sesshoumaru to address their issues.

The guards moved aside to allow Inuyasha to enter since no one had ordered them to keep the tigers locked away from the other royals that lived in the castle.
