4. Bitching around

Sango came back to camp with an evil look in her dark eyes.
Miroku noticed this and he shuddered. What ever she was thinking about � he did
not want to know. The taijya could from time to time be the scariest thing you
ever could see.

Good
Sango-chan, you are back. Inuyasha caught a couple of rabbits, so we will have
fresh meat today, said Kagome with a brilliant smile.

Sounds good,
he is a good hunter. Too bad he is such a egotistical bastard and are letting us
do the nasty work with them, answered Sango with a haunting smile and she was
sure the syrup dropped from her words.

Keh!!
snorted the hanyou and glared mischievously at the slayer.

�Just wait little dog boy, I will have you begging for mercy
soon.�
she thought and smiled as sweet as she could towards Inuyasha.

� Back on the road� �

Sango choose to walk a bit behind the group, but every now and
then her feet hit small pebbles, sending them right in the back on a certain
silver haired person. O he was getting more agitated by the hour, but when she
received a dark amber look from him she just smiled like a little angel and
whistled a bit. If he could act irrational, by the gods � so could she.

Inuyasha felt a little bump on his back again and he growled
under his breath, the little vixen was teasing him to no end. She knew he
couldn�t do a thing about it right now, not unless he wanted everyone to know of
course. �But I will have you begging for more of my gifts after the night is
over, be sure of it my little koishii.� He turned around and sent her a
heated look, certain that it would show what he wanted to do to her right now.
And it worked, her cheeks flared and she looked away. �Good, that will teach
you not to mess around with me..� He grinned and scouted off, mumbling
something about being on the lookout for demons. Miroku and Kagome both drew a
deep breathe. Both knew something was happening between the hanyou and the
taijya, but they just could not place it. And Kagome could feel a sting of
jealousy when she saw the last look Inuyasha gave Sango before he took off into
the forest. Yes, something was happening between those two.

� A small battle� �

Shard!!
yelled Kagome and shot off a purifying arrow towards a big bird youkai.

HIRAIKOTSU!!
The whooshing sound of the giant boomerang echoed through the air and it hit the
target right on at the same time Kagome�s arrow nailed its black heart.

Miroku watched the bird disintegrate by the women�s effort and a
tainted shard fell from the sky. A red and white blur caught it and Inuyasha
brought it back to Kagome.

Nice work
girls, he said to the both of them but he held his eyes locked on Sango, and
before anyone knew how it happened, he blinked at her. The blush rose
immediately on her cheeks and she reverted her gaze to the ground. He snickered
and took off into the forest once again.

SANGO!!

Y-yes
Kagome-chan, what is it? Sango�s voice was shaky and she refused to look at
Kagome when she talked to her.

That is one
hell of a good question � why do you not tell me? snarled a very irritated miko.

I do not
know what you are talking about Kagome-chan..

I think you
do� Why is Inuyasha acting so weird? Why are you so jumpy? And was that just
now??

I don�t know
why he is acting the way he does. I have not slept well these last couple of
nights and I guess that makes me a bit jumpy and what do you mean by the last
question??

Sango-chan,
are you really that na�ve?

W-what??

Our little
dog boy is flirting with you!! A hint of jealousy could be detected in Kagome�s
voice now.

No, you must
have mistaken, I� I do not think he is flirting with m-me, stammered Sango and
swallowed the lump in her throat.

Geez, if you are that horny, why do you not just mate and get it
over with!! Kagome�s arms made a wavy gesture and she sighed a bit.

Kagome-chan!!! Sango was surprised that Kagome even would think to joke about
this.

Never mind,
lets get going again.. said Kagome and took Shippou into her arms and walked
away.

Miroku however did mind. Had he really heard that Inuyasha was
flirting with Sango? But did he not love Kikyo, or Kagome? Why flirt with Sango,
was he going to make one or perhaps both of the mikos jealous? He shook his head
and tried to catch up with Kagome.

Kagome did not say a word more to Sango after her little outrage.
And as they set up camp for the night the tension was thick in the little shard
hunting group. Inuyasha took upon his shoulder to hunt for them again. This was
very odd; he never did anything to provide for the group, why was he doing it
now? He came back with a wild boar and used his claws to cut the meat in the
smaller parts. Sango wondered if her words from earlier this morning had some
sort of impact on him, since he gutted and cleaned it, but she would not dare to
question him now, the tension around the group was too great. And to start a
dispute would not help them out one bit. Sango and Kagome took it upon their
task to prepare the meat for the rest of them. Sango never looked at the girl
from the future, but she knew Kagome was looking at her. �Inuyasha, do
you know how much damage you have done today?� Sango asked herself and tried
to look as normal as possible.

Everyone ate in silence and once they were finished they all
crawled into their sleeping bags and drifted off to sleep. Sango how ever, could
not sleep. She admitted willingly that she was afraid that Inuyasha would try
something during the night and she feared that it would only build up the
tension in the group. She shivered a bit and whispered to Shippou.

Psst, Shippou-chan, are you asleep yet.

-

[yaaaawn]
No not yet Sango, what is it? asked the little kitsune.

I am feeling
a bit cold; could you perhaps consider sleeping by my side tonight?

Huh?

-

You and Kirara, to give me a little bit of warmth?
�And to make sure Inuyasha is keeping away from me. I do not want
him to spawn anymore troubles between me and Kagome-chan.�

Sure,
whatever, said Shippou and went to sleep on Sango�s stomach.

Inuyasha bared his fangs to the moonlight. That vixen - she made
sure he could not go near her during the night. And the fucking kitsune � why
could the little brat sleep alone? Oh well, she could not use the kitsune very
often, not unless she wanted Kagome to be more suspicious than she already was.
His little flirt had stirred up some powerful emotions in the pack, but he could
not care less. His demon blood had chosen his mate, and he would not back down
until she was his.
