Kouga and Inuyasha looked at each other and then a smirk appeared
on their lips. They knew where she lived and they were going to make sure that
she never ran away from them again. They moved swiftly, almost flying over the
ground towards the mansion where their little shark maiden were housing.

But when they reached the house they were met by an old lady who
practically bumped them both on their heads.

Kaede was furious to say the least, about the two young boys that
threatened to tare the place down unless she took them to miss Ayame. She found
her cane and smacked them both on their heads.

I am sorry boys, but I will do no such thing. I do not know who
you speak of and if I did, I would not let you inside the house anyway, snorted
Kaede.

Get out of the way old hag, spat Inuyasha.

Young man, you will use a clean language!

Kaede whispered ancient words and soon the two young men sat on
their butts, they had forcefully been removed from the doorstep. She smiled
gently, just like a grandmother watching her young relatives eating cookies or
something.

Old hag, what the hell do you think you are doing? snarled Kouga.

Young man, you will watch your tongue while you are here, I will
not allow foul mouthed boys, said Kaede firmly.

Tell us where the bitch is and we will be out of here in no time,
said Inuyasha.

Kaede moved to look at the silver haired man. Then she smiled.

Can it be that you are not insulting the young woman who ever she
may be, when you call her bitch? asked Kaede.

What are you talking about old h� woman? asked Inuyasha and
changed the word hag to woman when he felt her piercing gaze.

-

You are a dog demon right? It would just be natural for you to
call a woman a bitch, said Kaede and her gentle face came back.

W-what? stuttered Inuyasha.

Don�t worry young man, I will not expose your little secret. I
may be old, but this old witch has a few tricks up her sleeve. I can see through
your disguise.

Y-you can? This time it was Kouga�s turn to stutter.

Yes, and you my boy, you are a wolf demon.

Kouga cold not do nothing else but nod. He was stunned by the old
woman�s ability to sense their real nature. But still, where was the Shark
Maiden?

Now I must ask you to leave, you are trespassing and if you do
not walk away by your own free will�. I have my ways to deal with trespassers
and you do not want to know what those ways are� do you understand boys?

Inuyasha and Kouga nodded. They did not want to find out what she
was talking about. They pulled themselves together and disappeared into the
night.

Kaede took a deep breath of relief. �My dear miss Ayame, what
have you been up to now?� she asked herself as she closed the heavy wooden
door.

Ayame watched them from her room. Her heart raced inside her
chest as she saw them move away from the house. It had been too close this time.
�I knew I should have let them be food for Her.� she thought bitterly.
�Will I ever be free from them now?� She walked into the bathroom and took
another shower to get rid of the salt in her hair. �And they made me loose my
favourite clothes as well. Fuck, that means another trip into town if I want to
get something similar to what I lost.� She put on her silk robe and walked
over to her bed and fell down, burying her face into the soft pillows.

� Two days later� �

Ayame grabbed her car keys and shouted to Kaede that she was
going into town for a few hours. Without waiting for a reply Ayame went into the
garage and got inside her dark blue Volvo 240 and drove into town.

Once in town she parked her car and went into the nearest
clothing store that she knew should have what she was looking for. And boy was
she glad when she found what she was looking for. A pair of leather pants, a
black slimmed top and black soft shoes to go with it. �That was quick�
perhaps I should get something for my sweethearts as well?� She put the bags
into her car and went over to the local butchery.

After a few moments of carefully choosing she got what she wanted
and paid for her treats. She took the bags and went outside but she stopped dead
in her tracks when she saw two smirking young males. �Man, and here I thought
my day was going to be perfect�� she wanted to snarl but instead she bit the
inside of her cheek and produced a fake angelic smile.

Good day gentleman, she said and walked passed them.

Where do you think you are going bitch? asked Inuyasha with a
smooth voice.

-

Please, you don�t want to do this, she said, her angelic smiled
still plastered on her face.

Yes we do, we want to get to know you a bit better�. Shark
Maiden� said Kouga and took a step to stand behind her as Inuyasha took a step
closer to her front.

-

No you do not, please step aside and let me go.

-

No! said Inuyasha

-

No! said Kouga.

�Well, I did warn them.�
sighed Ayame and put her bags on the sidewalk. She saw a woman in her forties
come by.

-

Miss, would you like to watch those three bags for me while I
finish some business here? asked Ayame with her sweetest voice.

-

Of course dear, said the woman.

-

Thank you.

Ayame were swift in her actions. She grabbed the front of their
shirts in one hand and pulled them close to her face. Her jade green eyes
sparkled with something that made them both gulp with fear. She gave them a
quick peck on their mouths and then she took a step back and pulled them
together instead. Their faces made contact and once again they saw stars.

Way to go girl!! said the woman and applaud Ayame for her action.

Thank you, that should teach them not to try anything with me
again. If they do, I will feed them to the SHARKS!!

That�s the spirit!

Ayame took the bags and walked over to her car. She saw Inuyasha
and Kouga help each other up. A small gleam entered her eyes and she waited
until they regained their posture.

Hey guys� !! she shouted.

-

Huh?

If you can beat me in a race I will let you get me ok?

And with that she got into the car and drove away.

Mrs. H walked up to the two young men and she smiled gently as
she helped them get up on their feet properly. They brushed of their clothes.

You are way over your heads with her boys, she said.

-

We don�t care� snarled Kouga.

-

Hmm, then I suggest that you get one of those shark proof suits.

-

Why do you say that? asked Inuyasha curious.

-

Because if she is racing you, she will be taking you out for a
real swim. With sharks.

-

So she is the Shark Maiden then? pointed Kouga.

-

Shark Maiden? I have never heard her being called that before,
but it is quite suitable, if I am to believe my daughter and her friend. They
say that miss Ayame has a very strange hobby and that hobby is sharks.

Ayame? Inuyasha was confused.

-

Yes, that is her name. Ayame.

-

Oh, thank you. We better be going now, to buy those shark proof
suits, said Kouga and pulled Inuyasha by his sleeve.

Higurashi yes�

Thank you mrs. Higurashi, said Inuyasha and they waved good bye.

She smiled at them. �Perhaps they are the ones to shape that
girl up a bit.� thought mrs. H and continued with her errands.

Kaede met Ayame once she got back from the town. But before she
could tell her anything the red headed girl was off to her secret cove at the
shore. �Gods, that girl will be the end of

me.�
sighed Kaede. But she was happy for her. Ayame was happy when she was around or
in the sea. Nothing could ever change that. And by the looks of it, the girl had
spent another fortune on bloody livers for her friends. �Good thing that her
parents let her inhered them. Her friends would eat her out of her house
otherwise.� And with that she walked back into the kitchen and began
chopping some vegetables.
