"You'll pay for this with your life Kouga!" Inuyasha cursed running for the mountains.

Kikyou slept more soundly, though unsettled feeling the presance of Kouga. She opened her eyes and sat up slowly, taking the aid of his strong arms. "Why is it that you care for me so?" she asked in a small pained voice. "Maybe it is because I have fallen so far down." he smiled. Kikyou gave him a look, she didn't understand. Where had he fallen from? How far down? And where? "I have fallen so far down in love with you." he smiled, feeling horrible on the inside. There was no way a married woman would fall in love all over again. But still he hoped to get another day with the young, beautiful miko.
"But you would do so, to break your heart. For I have one to love already." she said giving a comforting smile. "I would rather risk the break of my heart, than ignore the longing within it." he said, hoping to win her back from the hanyou he now loathed. All he got in return for now was a blushing face of someone that was just out of reach. "And yet, you risk it so openly. Whilst others wallow in sorrow of not letting go of the feelings tied deep in their hearts." she said wisely.
And she did know what she was talking about, she the miko who had once been cheated out of a happy ending. The one woman who loved no one, and then she met the hanyou whom no one loved. She fell for him instantly, into a deep pit of emotions, and then was tricked. One half man, so evil and greedy enough to make this poor miko suffer the thought that her loved one had betrayed her. She who dies in belief that the only one she had ever loved, had killed her with his own hands. She even when revived by the youkai ogre Urasue, believed this. After long days, months, a year passed and she grew to believe that she could start her life anew. Begin again and stay with Inuyasha like she had always hoped.
"Do not hurt yourself." she interupted his thoughts, "It is unwise to risk so much." She turned from him, getting up slowly tenderly. Limping over to the edge of the caves. Looking out over the mountains. The bright purple and green tones of the trees. The blue of the small lonley streams winding their way down the rocky passages of the mountain. These streams just the smaller, calmer versions of the large river that started at the top of the largest mountain, beginning with a large waterfall and ending up intertwined with the ocean. Then a dot of red on the horizon, and a call to wake the dead. "Kikyou!"
"Inuyasha!" she yelled out to him. Watching this red figure dart back and forth, each jump bringing him nearer to the one he loved. Kouga walked de hde her, arm on her shoulder. "I suppose this is goodbye." he said. She could almost feel his heart break then, feeling his sorrow grow, spreading through his body. Down through his arms it flowed through to her, making her feel sorry to leave him. But as Inuyasha loomed closer, her choice to stay grew more unlikely.

DICTIONARY/INFO:
Miko: (Shoulda put this in sooner) Priestess.
Hanyou: Half-demon
Youkai: Full demon
Youkai Ogre Urasue: In episode 14 (I think) a demon orgess brings back Kikyou from the dead, making her body of clay and bones of the dead. She tried to lure Kagomes soul (which we all know is Kikyous anyway) out of her body into Kikyous, so it's like Kagome and Kikyou are sharing a soul.
It is now 9:54, I've been up all night. So if this really sucks or doesn't make sense, BLAME INSOMNIA! ~~Kikyou Kanawa
