What My Eyes Have Seen
When Inuyasha returned with the priestess, Sesshomaru was inordinately pleased to see him. It annoyed him slightly, but he overlooked that; particularly when his brother laid the priestess in her bed and came to him immediately. Inuyasha had never stood so close to him in the presence of his companions; Sesshomaru felt his blood quicken as his brother leaned close to him and said softly, "I need to talk to you." He turned toward the fire for a moment, but Sesshomaru went to him- he could feel that something had changed, and he didn't want to lose the feeling of closeness, the excitement that ran along his bones like electricity.
"Down by the river," he said. Inuyasha nodded, made a gesture to the cat, then they both moved, Sesshomaru admiring his brother's natural grace as they slid silently between the tress.
The sickled moon was huge, hanging over the wide clearing that spread on both sides of the riverbed, bathing the area in an unnaturally bright light. Inuyasha paused on the edge of the river, looking down into the shallow water, and Sesshomaru paused as well to take in the sight of his brother, filling his eyes with the sight of him in the moonlight. They had had their first... encounter, as it were, in a place not unlike this, on a night not unlike this. He moved up closer to his brother, and waited for him to speak.
Inuyasha looked up from the water, turning around to fix his eyes on Sesshomaru. He smiled tentatively and took a step toward his brother, followed by another, and then he was rubbing his nose in the cloth that covered the demon's chest, reaching up till his lips were against the smooth skin of his brother's throat. Sesshomaru growled appreciatively, but put a restraining hand on Inuyasha's arm. "You wished to converse," he reminded, not stating the obvious fact that continuing further in the vein they had just begun would leave them both unwilling and unable to engage in coherent speech.
"Yeah." Inuyasha looked up at his brother with a grin, but sobered as he remembered what he wanted to say. "Sesshomaru, I..." He moved closer. "I... wanted to say that I..." He looked up meeting his brother's eyes, searching them. "I'm very glad that we... that we have this." He reached out and buried his hands in the folds of Sesshomaru's kimono. "I..." He swallowed. "Being with you, like this, means more to me than..." He trailed off. "Than anything," he finished firmly. He held Sesshomaru's eyes for a moment then dropped his slightly. "I just wanted to say that," he said again, his ears twisting back in apprehension.
Sesshomaru's gaze softened and he raised his hands to cup his brother's face. "Inuyasha," he said, inhaling the word, tasting it, hearing it and finding it beautiful in all ways. "I..." He hesitated, but berated himself. Had he not already confessed all to the demonslayer? What prevented him from speaking the words to Inuyasha himself? "I too greatly value... what we have." He paused. "You. I value you." He combed his long fingers through Inuyasha's hair. "Being with you... challenges everything I held as truth, and reminds me of things I had forgotten- things that are indeed truth." Inuyasha looked away, thinking rightly enough that Sesshomaru referred to his human blood, but the demon pulled him closer and rested his chin on the top of the half breed's head. "Inuyasha," his voice rumbled, Inuyasha's ear close to his chest. "I enjoy being reminded."
The half breed pulled away and looked up in surprise. Sesshomaru kissed the corner of his mouth and Inuyasha turned into the touch, returning the kiss, but Sesshomaru wasn't finished. "Inuyasha, I..." He brushed his thumb over his brother's cheek. "I love you," he said, his eyes widening in slight surprise at his own words. Inuyasha's eyes flew open wide and he drew in his breath in a gasp.
"I know," Inuyasha said, grinning suddenly, his legs coming up and wrapping around Sesshomaru's waist. "But it's nice to hear you say it." He seized his brother's head between his hands and kissed him forcefully, tasting all the depths of his mouth.

Kagome eased a branch out of her face and stepped around a tree. She felt like she'd been walking, or more precisely crawling over tree roots, for hours. There was a clearing ahead- she could tell by the way the light was brighter. She thought it was a riverbed; she could hear the sound of moving water. She heard another sound suddenly that was definitely not water, and then she pulled a branch down a little, found that she was closer than she thought, and discovered she was looking straight at...
The moonlight fell over them, brushing their pale skin and turning it to silver. Inuyasha lay back on the ground, his face twisted in ecstasy as Sesshomaru, crouched over him, licked and nipped at his neck. The half demon's hands were buried in his brother's hair and it hung down like strands of light moving in a broken curtain around both their faces and trailing over the ground. Sesshomaru moaned as he moved up and kissed his brother's lips, and Kagome could see the demon's hands spread over his brother's chest, the long claw of one finger teasing at a nipple. Inuyasha moaned as well, shoving up against Sesshomaru's body, and the demon hissed, his body arching back, hair flying around him as he rose up, and she suddenly noticed that they were joined- Inuyasha's length buried inside his brother. Sesshomaru's own length arced up, almost touching against his stomach as he leaned back exposing himself fully to her eyes, and she blushed. Wow... She'd taken biology and everything, but the last time she'd seen a naked man it'd been Souta and he'd been about five years old, so... Wow.
The pair, oblivious to her watching eyes, continued to enjoy each other. Inuyasha's hand, having fallen from the side of the demon's head, moved to wrap around the other man's length, squeezing the hardened flesh and sliding up and down along it. Sesshomaru moaned again, a soft, high sound, almost a whimper, as he leaned forward again and leaned over his brother, thrusting against the hand that held him. Inuyasha growled his response; he tried to thrust up move fully against his brother, his toes curling in the dirt of the riverbank and his whole body writhing with desire. They moved in a steady motion against each other, the sounds of their passion wondering and breathless against the steady background of the river. The sudden shadow of a slim cloud over the moon caused the light to ripple over them as Sesshomaru shuddered and gasped, breathing Inuyasha's name as his body stiffened with one final thrust against his brother's hand, and he came over the half demon's slender fingers. Inuyasha let out a strangled yelp, his body convulsed in a shudder as he thrust upward again, his head thrown back, his expression combining pain and bliss. Sesshomaru fell on his hands and knees, crouched over his brother, breathing heavily and looking down at his partner. After a moment Inuyasha raised a hand and let his fingers trail along his brother's cheek, the demon turning into the caress.
Kagome knew she shouldn't be watching this- it was too personal; she was intruding. But she couldn't look away. It was so...
"Disgusting."
She snapped her head around, toward the sound, and found that she was no longer a solo audience. Kikyou stood beside her, eerily familiar face firmly set in an expression of revulsion. She turned to glare accusingly at Kagome.
Kagome flinched, feeling suddenly guilty- like a schoolgirl caught in the act of breaking some sacred rule. Wait... She narrowed her eyes at the other woman. "What are you doing here?"
Kikyou's expression was unreadable as she looked at the tableau on the riverbank. "This," she spat the word, "this pleases you?" She turned eyes glowing with fury on her reincarnation. "You do not seem eager to stop it, in any case."
Kagome looked away, her eyes drawn back to the pair in the moonlight. They had rolled over and Inuyasha leaned over his brother, pulling himself free of the demon's body; she could see the glistening of his come on both their skin as they separated and then the half demon lay himself down alongside his brother, half on top of him, and Sesshomaru's arms came up around him, holding him closer.
"Yes," she said clearly. Turning to Kikyou, Kagome met her eyes. "Yes, I am very pleased. Cause that," she pointed emphatically to the riverbank, "is beautiful!"
Kikyou reeled back in shock. "You..." she started, but Kagome cut her off.
"He's spent his whole life being hated or used because of what he is," she ranted, while still trying to keep her voice down, turning toward Kikyou aggressively. "Inuyasha is a beautiful person, and it's about time he found someone willing to appreciate him; someone who doesn't think of him as just a 'half breed'- and I don't wanna hear anything out of you, little Miss 'holier than thou,'" Kagome snapped as Kikyou opened her mouth. "You know you held it against him- being "tainted' by his demon blood. And maybe Sesshomaru hated him for the opposite reason, but at least he seems to have been able to learn from the past rather than just being a bitch about it." She glared at Kikyou defiantly. When the priestess didn't speak immediately, Kagome continued, "And you better not try to ruin this for him or so help me..."
Kikyou laughed, a short, harsh bark of noise. "You attempt to sound noble, but you know that you desire it to have been your arms he found comfort in."
Kagome froze. Slowly she turned away from Kikyou, folding her arms over her chest. "Yes," she said quietly her eyes settling on the silvered shapes resting after their exertion. "I do wish that. But I love him." She turned to shoot a glare at the other woman. "I love him enough to acknowledge that he has found comfort and I'm happy for him. I'll be here for him whenever he needs me, but if it's someone else he wants then I can accept that. As long as he knows that he deserves love." Glancing over at her predecessor, Kagome found Kikyou's stare was uncomprehending. Kagome's lip curled. "I can see that you've never loved anyone. At least no one other than yourself."
Kikyou leveled an affronted glare at her, and turned to disappear into the night. Kagome snorted after her. Frigid bitch, she shot mentally at the woman's departing back, still caught up in her ranting but retaining enough presence of mind to not say it out loud. With a slight harrumph she turned back to check on Inuyasha and Sesshomaru one last time before she returned to the camp. She was somewhat more than slightly surprised to find Sesshomaru sitting up and staring directly at her.
Kagome swallowed. Oh shit. Had he heard what she had said? What had she said?? She ran over her conversation with Kikyou in her head. It didn't sound particularly objectionable... well, unless you happened to be the reanimated corpse of a dead priestess. Was it just that she was here at all? He slowly stood and turned his back to her as he gathered his clothing. She swallowed; he really had a nice body... Not that she was really attracted, but hey, eye candy was all to the good. Dressed he made his way over to her; he seemed to be moving incredibly slowly and for some reason she couldn't move, either to run away or to move to meet him.
"Kagome," he said, his voice soft and smooth, and that jolted her out of her paralysis.
"Ah... Hi! Um.. I was just..." She stepped back. "Leaving." She turned around.
"Hold."
She stopped. She turned back around.
Sesshomaru looked at her, frowning slightly. "You are..." He hesitated. "...well?"
She stared at him blankly.
"Are you," he attempted to clarify, "distressed?"
Her stare was pretty blank for a bit longer, but she eventually got it. "Oh! You mean by... that. Seeing... that." She blushed, hard. "Oh no! I... You guys... You're... so beautiful together," she breathed then blushed darker. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to spy. I just... wanted to keep an eye on him."
He nodded, his lip curling up in what was almost a smile. "He is fortunate to have such a companion."
"I..." She looked up and met the demon's eyes. "I want to be there for him. To help him. He told me..." she faltered, but found her voice again. "He told me he's never really had friends before and I just couldn't stop thinking about how people have always wanted to hurt him, and I just want him to know that people can love him just the way he is and he doesn't have to try to change and..." She stopped, realizing she was rambling and that in doing so she had just indirectly accused the rather powerful demon in front of her of being an insensitive prick, and set her jaw defiantly as if challenging him to disagree with her.
Sesshomaru's expression tightened and he closed his eyes as her generalized accusation seemed to strike him right between the eyes. "Yes," he said. He looked at her. "Please continue to show him that he is... loved," he asked of her quietly.
Her eyes widened slightly, but she smiled and nodded. "And you do the same," she said, suddenly bold, jabbing a demanding finger in his face.
"Such is my intent," he responded.
"Good," she said folding her arms resolutely.
He smirked, as if remembering something, and opened his mouth to speak, but suddenly he turned his head away, inhaling deeply, his attention focused on something Kagome couldn't perceive.
"What?" she asked quietly, quickly, her body easily falling into a danger ready stance as she waited for him to share the information his well attuned senses received.
But instead of pointing out an enemy he turned back toward the river and shouted, "Inuyasha!"
The half breed came awake instantly; blinking once, he focused on the direction of the voice. Sesshomaru took a step toward him, but hesitated, his head cocked to the side as he listened to something. Kagome's sudden sense of unease grew as she heard a distant rumbling sound, like thunder, steadily growing louder. "What..." she started to say, but she didn't have the chance to finish the thought as the sound grew steadily louder, the distant rumbling she'd heard now a crescendo of white noise that completely deafened her. Her hands went to her ears in confusion and Sesshomaru's arm was suddenly around her; they lifted free of the earth as a torrent of wildly frothing water swept past beneath them, completely covering the ground.
"Inuyasha!" she screamed, beating at the arm around her waist that held her in safety, held her away from Inuyasha.
