The Darkness Within
He had tried his damndest to delay Naraku from finding Rin,
but the attempt was in vain. Now, Sesshoumaru wandered the lands
looking for her. He admitted that he hated humans and that loving
them only made you weak, but he no longer believed that. It had been
15 years since he had brought her back to life, and she was near his side
everyday there forth. He had grown accustomed to having her sweet
presence there that when it wasn’t any longer, he went through
withdrawals. He loved her. She knew it, he had made it
clear to her a year prior to the current situation and she proclaimed her love
in accordance. Now, that bastard had her.
Sesshoumaru wandered for days before finally finding the cave Naraku's scent
was crawling from. Gliding inside quietly, he walked down the dark
and lonely path until he could hear that devil's voice. Then, he
could see them... he didn’t want to be seen until the time was right so in a
fashion of discrete movements he positioned himself behind a staircase and
looked on in curiosity and anger through the slits in the stairs.
"Get away from me you disgusting man." Rin cried out into
the abyss that was the empty cave. Naraku simply laughed at the
request.
"Silly girl, you don't know what you are talking about... I am going to
make you the woman that ... that fool Sesshoumaru could never... that he
would never dare to attempt to make you." He moved closer to the
girl who was bound by ropes tightly knotted at her
wrists. Sesshoumaru couldn't believe what he was seeing and he could
feel the demon in him attempting to come to life as he realized... Naraku
wasn't clothed. Neither was Rin. Her luscious body shone
in the dim light that filled the cave from the candles. He watched
Naraku move towards her... he was waiting for the right opportunity... He
kissed her and made his way down her body... Still... Sesshoumaru
waited. Finally, When Naraku positioned himself so that he hovered
over her, Sesshoumaru went into attack mode.
"You Bastard!" he shouted as he pulled his sword from the hilt beside
Tensaiga, Stabbing Naraku in the back. "You messed with my
dimwit half brother... I said not a word... You tried to control the world with
the jewels powers; I made no real attempt to stop you... But you crossed the
line when you took this human for your own amusement." Naraku
laid on his back, blood from the wound pooling around his body...he laughed.
"You fool... in love with a human... just... like... your pathetic half
brother Inuyasha... Just... Like... Your...
Wrenched father." He continued to mock
him. This made him angry.
"Do not let my father's name or ideal ever cross these
lips." He held the tip of the sword to Naraku's
mouth. Naraku gave him a smug smile... daring him to finish the
job. Sesshoumaru didn't hesitate to do it. No matter how
much he wanted to defy that piece of shit bastard, this wasn’t for
him..."Go back to hell Naraku... This... Is for my
Rin." With that he took a swift slice and disassembled
the half demon's head.
Running over to Rin he untied her hands and removed the fur he carried on his
shoulders, and wrapping it around her body he lifted her into his
arms. She smiled at him through her big eyes, and he almost
melted...but this time he did not care that he was weakened.
"Don't tell anyone Rin... but, I think I finally understand what my father
saw in that wench that bore Inuyasha." She playfully kissed her
Sesshoumaru's cheek and laid her head on his broad shoulder.
"Good." She whispered in his ear. "Does this mean I
can keep you?" He let a smile pass on his lips; she had never
seen him smile. It was warm and inviting, not at all what she would
have expected from the great lord. He touched her tear stained cheek
as they walked into the sunny forest and kissed away a stray tear that escaped
her beautiful eye.
"Forever." He whispered
back. "And just to prove that bastard wrong...I am
going to show you just how much I love you...I am going to make you a
woman. My mate." She smiled
and closed her eyes at the proclamation. He could tell she was
