Kagome was so distracted with the recent conversation with her pet project that she wasn’t actually reading the magazine she was thumbing. Then the song starts “kiss me through the phone” Kagome’s ringtone for her amazingly sexy boyfriend. She checks out the caller ID to see the goofy picture she had set of him and her at the beach last summer. She presses answer button.

“Huragishi, here.” She smiled waiting for his familiar voice to respond.

“Hey sugar lips.” He knew that she hated that pet name and he would use it often. He would love to see the face she would make when he called her it, which always put a wicked smile on his face. “Whatcha up to?”

She sighed, she knew that was intentionally messing with her, but whatever got his rocks off she figured it was worth a little razzing from him. “You know Inu, you can be such a jerk.”

“What?” He said sarcastically. “Do you mean the ‘Rin thing’. Oh get over it Kags. I was just teasing.”

“I will not! Rin in all the years that I’ve known her, has ever showed interest in any guy and one of the first times that I got to see it. You come in and embarrass the hell out of her.”

“Kaggy, she will be ok. But after you ran off with the little one, I noticed something awesome and totally unexpected.”

“What?”

“Well my stupid ridiculous pompous frigid half brother, did something that gave away his all so prided blank façade.”

“Huh?”

“I noticed something odd with him. It was sort of subtle for anyone that don’t know him better. And I think he may be attracted to your little pet. After I noticed he was acting a little odd, even with him. I decided to give him a little razzing to test my theory. And he was definitely more annoyed with me than usual….”

“Oh my god!” She squealed, interrupting Inuyasha

“Yeah when he got home. I figured he would seek me out and give me some kind of beating, but no he was gone for hours and when he got home he reeked of cholorine. And from when I was a kid I remember that if he went swimming for hours like that he was completely out of his mind. He did it when he decided to end things with Kagura. It’s like he uses it like therapy.” That sent Kagome off on another squealing, this one that was could have broke glass. Making Inuyasha’s ears ring uncontrollably.

“OH I HAVE TO CALL RIN!!!”

“Gome, don’t scream like that my ears, damn.”

“Sorry my sweet, I just can’t believe it!”

“I know, I can’t either… Hey wait you can’t tell Rin. I said that this was the theory, that he has the hots for her. And that was only because he wasn’t acting like his usual frosty self. But who could blame him, Rin has really turned into a monster hottie…”

“Hey!”

“Give me a break Kagome. I’m just saying that she’s comes along way since the awkward tom boy that ran around with your Shippo.”

“Well that I know. I just found out that Sota likes her. But she’s not interested, and she told me that once Shippo basically jumped her.”

“Really?” He said slyly “I would have never pegged him to do something so rash. I didn’t know that he had it in him.”

“ Don’t say things like that about my little Shippo. I couldn’t believe he would do what she said he did.”

Inuyasha smirked. “Have you told Sota that she isn’t interested?”

“Not yet, I don’t know how to say it with out hurting him. But I am glad she doesn’t want to screw things up between her and the guys. I just can’t believe her face when she saw Sesshomaru.” She looked down at the ground and started to blush a little. “ I can’t help but wonder if I looked like that when I first saw him.”

“You were definitely close, I hate the way he has that effect on women. Actually I ended up picking a fight with him because he said some smart ass remark about you never looking at me the same way you looked at him. Arrogant jack ass.”

“Aw Inu, I love you.”

“Me to you too.”

“You know that you aren’t that nice to him either, so I’m not sure he wasn’t just getting back at you.” Kagome giggled “Besides, if he does like her, then I hope that he will be nice to her. She doesn’t deserve a jerk.”

“Whoa there, Kags. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. I’m not sure if he is interested. There is that age difference there, he’s like 10 years older. And I’m not so sure that Mr. ‘I’m so righteous’ would break the law to be with a female.”

“Well I hope that you are wrong. Not to say that I agree with the idea of older people dating younger people. But that would be a smart match up. She could be the one that melts that ice exterior. I just hope that there is no hard feelings from the guys that she is interested in another guy.”

“As far as I can tell she has never shown them any attention that way, so they can’t be too upset if she side steps the whole lot of them. Man you should have seen the guys’ reaction to the razzing that I was giving Sesshomaru, they looked like they were going to maybe get off the couch and possible be the crap out of us, like they could actually take us.” He laughed, “And as for the age thing, ‘Ms Hypocrite’, remember I’m 500 years older than you.”

Kagome didn’t laugh at his stupid joke. “Your not mature enough to have that many years over me. No your maturity level puts 3 years younger than Shippo.” She heard him say “Ouch, Kags” and she giggled, “Wait! They heard you, oh poor Rin. Why would you pull that kind of crap in front of group of love sick boys? I can’t imagine how they are going to treat her with those comments buzzing in their brains.” At that she was just about to hang up the phone on him when he spoke,

“Kags, don’t be sore. You haven’t heard the best part. The part that will rock their little high schoolers’ world.”

“What?”
“I know why the Ice Prick is back.”

“I just thought that he was going to learn the family business from your dad.”

“Yeah, at some point. But pop thinks loser needs to do something, anything else, before, so that he doesn’t have a nervous breakdown and does something that will tank the company. And do you want to know what he has chosen to ‘sow his wild oats’?”

“Yes, yes, yes!!” As she spoke she was jumping up and down on her bed almost throwing her poor cat Buyo across the room.

“He went and got his teaching credential. And I can’t see him as a teacher, that is what he choose. Any ways he got a gig T.Aing for one the schools for awhile. Care to venture a guess at which school will be blessed with his appearance?”

“OH MY GOD!!! ALL SOULS!!!!”

“Bingo…”

“Kay Inu I have to go I have to call Rin.”

“Wait Kagome, don’t….” But he wasn’t fast enough and he was talking to a dead line. He then thought to himself, “Boy I’m glad I don’t have to listen to those screams. My ears would be bleeding.”
