A/N: I am beginning to get reviews from readers. Ah~ Seeing that there are people reading, and enjoying my story, makes me tremendously happy. Makes me want to update faster, and faster.
This will be the third chapter in three days. (Honestly, the prologue wasn't doing so hot so I almost gave up, but persistance and determination is better. =) )
There is also another story I am thinking of story from the point of view of Kagome. I'm brainstorming the plot now, wonder exactly how I am going to make it work, and how all the characters are going to fit, so if you are interested, look forward to that in the next few days along with frquent updates to Sway From The Rain; Fall To The Storm.

Chapter 3 ~ The Confusion Room

"Dog turd? What the fuck you doing here?" Kouga appeared in the doorway across from Kagome's, looking from his woman, to the mutt, then back to the miko who was currently making her way in between the two demons. Even though it was all right in front of him, he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Inuyasha turned around slowly, his expression almost perfectly matching Kouga's. "I could ask ya the same question, wolf shit."
"Can discuss this later!" Kagome said through gritted teeth, trying to push an aggravated Inuyasha into her apartment, and failing miserably. When she figured out it was like trying to move an obese boulder she gave up and slumped against him, her back to his chest to ensure neither would make a move for each other.
Inuyasha wrapped and arm around the small girl's waist and looked over her head at the wolf demon. The two stared each other down, and everything stayed completely silent until Kouga cleared his throat and stepped forward, ignoring Inuyasha's warning growls, to take Kagome's left hand in both of his.
"We can talk later, Kagome. It's fine." He smiled and she just couldn't help but smile back.
'Oh, Kouga, you have absolutely no idea.' She thought, truly appreciating his understanding. The wolf demon went to go inside, but stopped and looked over his shoulder. "And happy birthday by the way, babe. I know it's already late, but you should get it really soon."
"Oh, you didn't have to do that!" The miko said, although she couldn't hide the little bit of excitment that bubbled up under the surface. Kouga laughed.
"'Course I did." He gave Kagome his 'lady-killer' grin and shot Inuyasha a look that they both knew was meant as a challenge, then shut his door behind him with a soft click.
"That's right! Run off with your tail between your legs!" Inuyasha growled after him, barely noticing that Kagome had twisted out of his grasp and was now tugging on his shirt sleeve, pointing demandingly into her apartment while very nearly yelling at him to get inside.
He huffed and walked slowly inside.
The apartment was decently-sized, and very cozy.
Kagome repeated her earlier statement about it not being much, while Inuyasha rolled his eyes. Anywhere where she was was always more than 'not much.' She made it that way.
"I'll be right back."
Leaving Inuyasha standing by her entertainment center, Kagome had walked her way into the tiny kitchen on the right. While he waited for her to return, he took in his surrounding, noting that the decorating put into the apartment was a far cry from Kagome's previous bedroom set up of a desk, dresser, and bed.
The walls were painted a light, olive green color and the coffee table, and two end tables with lamps on each side of the gold-colored couch at the back wall were made of dark, oak wood. Her grandpa's antique brown chair with the ugly gold, leaf design, was up against the wall on the left, cornering one end table. Before the chair was the window-door that he assumed led to the balcony, and before that, a small bookshelf and another lamp. At the wall he was standing in front of, there was the giant, oak entertainment center with a large, but older model TV, a radio, and some speakers. Another thing he noticed was all the candles around the room. He even saw a couple large, decorative ones on the bar.
His nose twitched.
It smelled good in the apartment as it was, if she lit all of those, it would overload his already overly-sensitive sense of smell.
Making his way across the room, he sat down on the couch, continuing to look around. There were pictures all over the place. The hanyou looked over the arm of the couch at the one on the table closest to him. It was a picture her mom had taken of them one summer. Kagome was on his back, one arm around his neck, the other reaching for his ear. He was trying to duck out of her reach while spraying her with the hose. Kagome was laughing and Inuyasha was trying not to grin.
The hanyou smiled, remembering the day very clearly. That night, after the two had eaten some of Ms. Higurashi's delicious home cooking, they went onto roof. That was the first time Inuyasha had kissed her.
"Here. I got you some Tylenol. I'll-" Kagome appeared from around the kitchen counter with a glass of some kind of red juice and pills enclosed in her fist, but froze when she saw the photo in Inuyasha's hand. "That's, um, a good picture of me . . . " She said, walking slowly over to the table and setting down the three items before taking the picture out of his hands and putting it back on the table, face-down. There was a long pause and then she smiled down at him.
"You can sleep in my room. I am going to stay out here and watch TV for a bit." The miko finally said, nodding towards a door he didn't notice off to the side of the couch. She grabbed his hand and pulled him off the couch, then, to his surprise, dropping the connection as soon as he was on his feet.
With one last fleeting glance at him, she opened the door and went inside. The hanyou followed, standing in the doorway of almost an exact replica of her old bedroom. Even the window was in the same postion. Only difference was that the closet and door switched places.
Shaking his head in amusement, Inuyasha watched her wordlessly, his eyes once again glued to her face. The alcohol, unlike Sango had predicted, had worn off and he could clearly see the beautiful girl in front of him.
In high school, she was cute, but now, she was a gorgeous woman. Her hair was longer, cascading over her shoulders and ending in soft curls. Her sapphired orbs seemed brighter and her body had filled out nicely. The breasts she had complained about never having, were now there; the top part of an hourglass figures most girls would kill to have and guys drooled over.
Kagome, oblivious to Inuyasha's analyzing, busied herself with snatching up random articles of clothes of her floor and tossing them in her clothes bin. Each time she bent over, the hanyou reveled in the view of her ass. Those wide hips she had didn't lead to nothing. He grinned.
"Alright," The miko turned to him and his grin faltered.

"What?" He asked, as if shaken from a trance.
Kagome gave him a weird look, then shook her head. "There. Go to sleep. I'll go grab those pills for you . . . Again." She left the room, a bundle of clothes in her arms, and returned a few moments later with just the juice and pills to discover Inuyasha still hadn't moved from his place. "Go to bed, what are you doing?"
Inuyasha's eyebrow twitched. "Why are ya treatin' me like your pup?" He growled, taking the pills from her palm and popping them into his mouth, eyeballing her throughout the process. Her aura went from calm to pissed in no time flat; the corners of her mouth twitched into a small frown and her brows furrowed. The comment hit a nerve.
Kagome slammed the glass on her dresser. "Today was supposed to be the start of the perfect year for me!" She screamed, all of the stress that had built up from the day reached it's peak and boiled over. Poking him in the chest until he was backed up against the bedroom door, the miko continued her rant. "I was supposed to have a quiet day today after work, eat my cake, drink my wine, and wake up tomorrow feeling on top of the world. Instead, I get a call saying I have to bring your drunk ass home after seven years of not even knowing what had happened to you after eleventh grade! Inuyasha, I thought I was going to never see you again!" Inuyasha felt his blood pressure rise.
"Yeah! Like I was ever gonna let that happen, bitch!" He growled, catching the wrist with the prodding index finger to hold it above her head. With his free hand he grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him, knowing that his next question was one that she would want to run away from. "If you were so concerned with never seein' me again, then why did ya leave?"
Tears filled Kagome's eyes, and Inuyasha instantly regretted the words.
"Kagome, no . . . " He dropped lowered both hands to the sides of her face and she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath.
"Because you only had eyes for Kikyou, and I wanted you to only look at me." She said, opening her eyes. When their gaze met, he saw blue fire. Leaning forward, he experimentally brushed his lips against hers. Both shivered from the unexpected shock of electricity that shot down their spines.
To Inuyasha, it was a surprise. He had never felt anything like that in seven years. It was something he only remembered experiencing with the woman currently in his arms.
To Kagome, however, it was the que to back off. Pulling away from him, she pushed the hanyou into the room and shut the door, leaving Inuyasha confused in the middle of her bed room.

Another A/N: Short, yeah. But I figured that was a good place to end it. I am going to go to bed because I have to get up early tomorrow to go get my sister from camp three towns over. =/
