Chapter Four

A few weeks had passed since InuYasha's adrupt departure which had caused quite a stir within the nobles. Luckily Inu no Tashio managed to keep the nobles from discovering the truth of why the hanyou had suddenly left however there were rumors circling and with Sesshomaru's sudden departure on top of that didn't help matters. InuKimi was elated that the bastard hanyou was gone and although she wasn't told the true reason either; the smart female had a knowing feeling as to why and occassionally threw looks that said 'I told you so' at her mate which irritated him however he was also fustrated at himself. He could have handled the situation much better than he had and he had miscalculated his youngest's reaction to an abortion even though he had meant well when he had made that painful decision to destroy his unborn grandchild; he hadn't considered InuYasha's developing maternal instincts were strong which also had made him rather proud as it showed that he would prove to be a good 'mother' figure to his future pups. He sighed heavily as he got to his feet and strode purposely out of his office to the elevator that would take him to conference room 2 where he had a meeting. His eyes widened when he found himself face to face with a very angry Izayoi. Before he could greet her, Izayoi stormed forward and slapped him hard across his face. He rubbed his sore cheek. For a human she certainly had a decent hit.
"HOW DARE YOU HURT MY SON" she roared loudly. She didn't care of how he had treated her but no one hurt her son and got away with it. Inu no Tashio gazed at Izayoi in astonishment but nodded in understanding.
"I had a feeling he would go back to you. How is our son?" he asked his question earning him another hard slap across the face. Izayoi was absolutelty furious.
"YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL HIM YOUR SON. HE'S MY SON GOT IT" Inu no Tashio's ears were ringing with her yelling. All this yelling was not doing his sensitive hearing any good. He held back a growl as the alpha in him resented being struck while the man was enjoying it a little too much. Izayoi caught his amused looked and scowled deeper and went to strike again however Inu no Tashio blocked it however Izayoi surprised the Lord by bringing her knee up in between his legs and smirked gleefully as his howled in pain.
"That was for InuYasha MY son. You allowed things between them to get out of control fully aware of how InuYasha was developing and then you tell him to have it aborted. I am utterly ashamed of you. I thought you were an honourable demon and that you would protect him but no you did the exact opposite. I will NEVER forgive you for this" and with that Izayoi turned on her heel and left without saying another world while the great demon lord rolled in pain.
The pregnant hanyou sighed heavily as he held his very slightly round abdomen deep in thought of what had happened since finding out he was pregnant and with Sesshomaru's pup no less. He wondered whether it would be a boy or girl? Would it look like him or Sesshomaru or a bit of both? These questions woved through his mind constantly and he was worried and scarred and felt completely alone. Just then his phone rang. He looked and saw that it was Kouga calling again. He let it ring till it stopped. Both Kouga and Miroku had been calling him over the passed few weeks and each time he ignored them. He didn't want to face them or be reminded of the life he nearly had till it had been taken from him. He knew that if he had stayed with his father he would of lost his pup for sure because not only would it have damaged their reputation but it would of disgraced InuYasha even further and he would of been branded a whore and any pup's born would be bastards. He rubbed his stomach sadly at that thought because even the pup he carried was a bastard even though he knew who the father was, he was still unmated however InuYasha refused to destory an innocent life that he had helped create just to protect his already sullied reutation. It was wrong. His mother had been very supportive and was genuinely excited to being a grandma however any anger she had was directed towards his father and his elder half brother Sesshomaru. His ears twitched at the sound of the door opening and he was greeted by his mother who was holding a bag of groceries. He rushed over to assist her with unpacking, wondering what had taken her so long. Izayoi smiled at her son.
"Sorry I was gone a while but I had something important to deal with" she told him. InuYasha scowled slightly. She had confronted him then. She'd been talking about ever since he'd told her. He'd managed to stop her but he supposed it would of happened eventually. His mother was very protective and he loved her for it.
"What did he say?" he asked.
"I didn't give him time to say much of anything. I just literally gave him a piece of my mind, slapped him a few times, gave him a kick to the balls and then left him rolling on the floor in pain" responded Izayoi while InuYasha just burst into laughter. He wrapped his mother in a grateful hug.
"I love you mother" he said happily.
"I love you too son" she replied. They broke apart and Izayoi proceeded to tell InuYasha what else she had been doing.
"You have an appointment with Lady Kaede in a couple of weeks" Izayoi stated. InuYasha was about to protest but Izayoi gave him a look that said 'don't interrupt and do as you are told' look which silenced him.
"Lady Kaede has agreed to assist with your pregnancy and all I have to do is help her with chores around her house such as cleaning. She's really nice and I'm sure you'll like her" Izayoi continued. Lady Kaede was a decendent from a line of great miko's that helped with healing both demons and humans alike. InuYasha grumbled slightly but he would go and see her all the same. He was well aware that he would need help with things however the one person he wanted, he couldn't have. He quietly slipped away to his room where he curled onto his small single bed and allowed the tears to fall as his thoughts went to Sesshomaru; the father of his pup and the one who had rejected them both. Izayoi stood infront of his door and sighed before walking away; allowing him to have his privacy although her heart went out to him wanting to take the pain away but knew that she couldn't. She prayed that things would turn out well in the long run.
Sesshomaru sighed as he stood infront of HIS hanyou's room; the hanyou who was carrying his bastard child; the hanyou that he cold heart yearned for however he refused to claim them both. He would be willing to claim the hanyou; just not the bastard they had created together. He had to find him and kill the thing before the thing was connected to InuYasha. If the pup had connected to InuYasha then he would have to wait to kill the pup at birth and then he would have to mate and impregnate him once more and then he could annouce that he had found a worthy mate considering that he already knew he future mate was extreamly furtile.
"I'll find you hanyou and when I do you'll never leave my sight again" he vowed to himself as he walked away in search of his father; the only one who would know where HIS hanyou was. Unfortunatly for Sesshomaru, his father was busy so Sesshomaru was forced to wait. Sesshomaru waited for 10 minutes and was about to leave when he saw his father leave the conference room. Inu no Tashio sighed when he spotted Sesshomaru waiting for him.
"What do you want son?" he asked. Sesshomaru narrowed his cold eyes at his father.
"You know where InuYasha is and I want you to tell me" he demanded. Inu no Tashio raised an eyebrow. Today was not his day that was for sure.
"I'm sorry but I can't" he replied causing a glare from Sesshomaru.
"Can't or won't father? I need to know where he is immediately and I know you know where I can find him" he stated gained a loud growl from his father. Sesshomaru didn't even flinch.
"Why so you can kill the pup? I can't let you do that Sesshomaru" answered his father.
"I need to correct a mistake before he becomes my mate. I refuse to raise a pup that was concieved outside of a mating" at this Inu no Tashio bared his fangs as his eyes turned red.
"YOU HAD PLENTY OF CHANCES TO MATE HIM BEFORE HE BECAME PREGNANT BUT YOU DIDN'T TAKE THEM. I REFUSE YOU TO CAUSE HIM MORE HARM" Inu no Tashio snarled. Sesshomaru summoned his own youkai to rise as the two powerful alpha's faced each other.
"HE IS MINE. I WILL OWN HIM BODY AND SOUL" Sesshomaru roared back and was about to attack when InuKimi intervened.
"ENOUGH THE PAIR OF YOU" she shouted as the two alphas turned their attention to her. Their eyes returned to their usual amber colour.
"Now as far as the nobles are concerned the hanyou has been declared unworthy and by running away is no longer connected to us. Our reputation is protected and that's that." stated InuKimi however Sesshomaru became pissed.
"HE WILL BE MINE" he roared before taking off leaving his parents stunned. Their son was truly one possessive alpha.
Kouga sighed heavily. Since the abrupt departure of the hanyou things had become boring or not as enjoyable. Miroku felt the same way and the pair woundered what had caused their hanyou friend to just disappear like that. They were both concerened and wanted to find him to see if he needed any help. Kouga sighed once more and turned around when he heard Miroku's voice. Miroku rushed over with a massive grin on his face. Kouga looked at him wondering what had made Miroku this happy.
"Guess what Kouga?" he asked simply. Kouga shrugged his shoulders.
"Sango finally agreed to go out with you?" he guessed. Miroku shook his head. Sango was his current obession that was refusing the go out with him knowing he had a reputation of being a casanova and refused to be seen as another conquest he could brag about to his friends. She had her own standards to uphold.
"No but it's the next best thing" he replied.
"Ok then lets hear it" Kouga said wanting to hear what Miroku had to say.
"I found InuYasha or at least his address. I managed to hack into the inu royal database and found an encrypted file called 'Izayoi'. It took a while but I finally managed to open it and the file was full of information on this human woman Inu no Tashio had a fling with which resulted in InuYasha. I've saved all the information and I want you to come with me" Miroku said happily at his achievement. Kouga shook his head in disbelief. Miroku's hacking was definatly going to get him into trouble.
"You do realise that its all a long shot and the information could be old and invalid. I wouldn't get your hopes up but sure I'm in" Kouga replied and the two of them went to find their friend.
InuYasha opened his eyes and stretched. He slowly got up and went to the bathroom to clean his tear stained face. Once clean he went into the living area and found a note from his mother telling him that she had gone to work. He sighed as he made himself a drink and was about to go back to his room when he heard a knock at the door and two familiar voices. Shit he thought as he reconised both voices of Miroku and Kouga. What the hell are they doing here? he thought to himself. Another knock was heard and he made the decision to answer the door. At the sight of their friend, the two embraced InuYasha tightly as they invited themselves in. InuYasha growled at the rushed contacted and pushed them off him. Kouga sniffed the air lightly at the familiar scent of a pregnant female and his eyes widened as he put two and two together. InuYasha was pregnant and that was the reason for his leaving therefore the pup he was carrying was a bastard. He sighed knowing what this meant for InuYasha and it wasn't good. InuYasha shut the door and nodded in silent answer to what Kouga had correctly assumed. Miroku looked confused for a moment till InuYasha filled him in. Both of them listened quietly and silence filled the room as they allowed the information to sink in.
"So what's going to happen next?" Miroku asked. InuYasha shrugged.
"I have a check up in a couple of weeks but other than that I'm not sure. I want you to promise to keep this to yourself for the pup's sake if for nothing else" InuYasha said in defense of his unborn. Kouga and Miroku nodded in agreement.
"Sure we will" they promised. They left soon after with InuYasha promising to keep in touch as they wanted to be there for him. InuYasha sighed happily.
Two weeks later found InuYasha lying on an examining table as Lady Kaede checked him over. His stomach was getting slightly bigger and unfortunatly he was still throwing up in the morning. Lady Kaede smiled warmly at the young inu hanyou and stepped away to allow the boy to get off.
"So how is it?" he asked looking directly at Lady Kaede wanting answers.
"Everything is fine young one and the pup is growing nicely. Now the important thing is to make sure you eat enough to sustain both yourself and the pup. Food such as fish, chicken are good for protein and milk for calcium. I will give you a list. Also as a half demon your pregnancy will be slightly longer and I would like to check regulary on your progress so then I can assist you in any way I can. Do you have any questions?" InuYasha shook his head.
"Thank you" he said before leaving however as usual his mind drifted to Sesshomaru who would never acknowledge or prehaps know his own pup and it hurt him deeply. Prehaps its for the best he thought to himself as he wandered back home. He reached home to see his mother preparing a warm meal for him. She listened quietly as he repeated what Lady Kaede had told him.
As the weeks passed InuYasha's stomach grew and due to his curiosity he discovered that his pup would be a boy and he had already chose a name. Yuki which meant snow. InuYasha felt the name appropriate for his father's cold heart. Kouga and Miroku visited often and were granted the honour of being the pup's uncles and like Izayoi were looking forward to the birth however InuYasha yearned for the pup's father; to be held in his arms; wanting him to give him comfort and reassurance for the birth ahead however it was all for nothing. Sesshomaru had long since rejected him and hadn't even tried to find him and that hurt. He'd given Sesshomaru everything and it hadn't been enough; it never would be enough. He had been thoroughly used and disguarded even by the man he had began to call father. It had been decided to have a caesarean birth to make it easier on the young hanyou. The day of the caesarean came and went without any problems however as InuYasha held his small son in his arms; the son that had inherited his ears as the markings of his cold hearted father he couldn't help but smile. Izayoi watched her son with her grandchild warmly wondering what was going to happen next? That was indeed the question and hoped for all their sakes that this would end well.
Well there's chapter four. I wanted to get the plot going and introduce little Yuki. My plans for what happens next is too hopefully to make Sesshomaru kinder but he is stubborn. He is most likely to accept Yuki as a ward but that's probably it. I hope you enjoy this chapter cause I do enjoy writing it.
