Authors Note: I am going to fudge this idea just a little bit, for what I have planned to work the time setting must be at the beginning, but her age must be older. So For creative purposes only we are going to make Kagome seventeen so she will be a bit more mature in some areas. This is, after all going to be an erotic story.
----
When night fell Kagome was more grateful than she had been when she survived Mistress Centipede the first night through the well. She had rode behind Inuyasha on her bike all day, refusing to let a noise out that would only prove the half demon right; Kagome had to prove to more than him that she could handle herself in this era though, she had to make sure she knew it herself too. She had felt the ointment slowly vanish as she worked harder than normal to keep up, but it seemed every time she would catch up to Inuyasha he would be half a mile ahead of her in a blink. She knew he was fast, but for him to be this blatant about it with her being injured was cruel.
The only time she had been granted a break was when he had stopped to sniff along the ground like a common dog does in her time. She would have giggled herself to tears if she had not been in pain, she had quickly dug through her backpack for some aspirin and her water canteen. She had barely swallowed the pills when he was off to his jumping run once again and she was fighting through the pain to catch up to him. If she hadn’t been so completely stubborn she would have made him stop more than that, she would have put more ointment on her gashes, she would have changed her bandages, she would have eaten a piece of jerky she brought from home. But she was stubborn and he was uncaring so none of that had happened.
So here Kagome was, wincing in pain as she began to set up her mini camp. Inuyasha had said some nonsense to her about demons not needing a camp and left her in the area to fend for herself while he tried to find himself a boar, she had glared at him as he walked away but started to slowly gather up any fallen branches and twigs she could find in the fading light. She hadn’t found many great things for starting the fire but she managed a handful of dead leaves and sun destroyed grass that lit well with her lighter. Once she had the fire going she poured the rest of her water from her canteen into a metal cup she could later pour into a cup of ramen. Until then she was setting up her sleeping bag and gathering the things she would need to bathe herself quickly in the cold river and re-bandage her back so the wounds wouldn’t get infected.
When she glanced back over at the little cup she saw it was bubbling and moved to pull it out with the tongs she had for when she cooked meat. It was poured in the cup and steaming as she bent the paper lid back over it. She tried to move gently as she made her way to the stream but in the end she was crying silently with each step. She kept whispering “I will not be weak.” to herself as she kept her balance amongst tree roots and rocks in the dimly lit forest.
“A woman with such injuries still moving about like you is far from weak, Kagome.” Naraku’s cool voice slithered up her spine and had her gasping in shock then pain from the sudden movement it took to find the source of the voice. He could plainly see that she was on the verge of passing out from pain, but fighting it adamantly. “The fact that you are still moving at all, for a human, is impressive in itself.”
Kagome had almost fallen over after the short burst of adrenaline wore off and found herself biting into her lip to keep from making a noise for a moment. She could see the stream a few yards ahead of them and glanced at him with a quick nod before finishing her painful journey to the water. She had tried not to collapse onto the ground, but instead managed to gently stumble down by the waters edge. After some quick breaths of pain she was trying to stop the tears before addressing the demon who had now seen her crying twice. “Thank you Naraku.”
He had followed her silently, watching as each movement made her bleed slightly more from the wounds on her back and how each step she took seemed to be more sluggish. “Why did your protector not aid you? Is that not his job?” Kagome stiffened a bit when he spoke but the pain in her back was far too great to try and argue with him about Inuyasha’s job in their little traveling duo. She hesitated for a few moments, not wanting to take her clothing off in front of him since she had that dream. “Umm, Can you turn around please?”
Naraku wanted to laugh at her for her modesty, her virginal attitude towards a nude body- but obliged for the sake of building that trust he needed her to have in him. “Is your injury what made your decision so hasty in reply to my offer?” He questioned, though he already knew the answer since he had witnessed the attack through the looking glass of his incarnation Kanna.
“Yes.” She whispered before taking off her shirt so she could better access the wounds. When she had dipped her hand in the water she shivered at the coolness of it but proceeded as planned since she had no choice. She grasped hold of a branch from a nearby tree and slipped out of the rest of her clothing before putting on her bathing suit once more for a bath and slowly walking into the knee high stream. A squeak of shock hit the air as she lowered her body down into the water and then a sharp hiss of pain followed when the wounds were in the gently moving current.
“If you distract your mind the pain will not be as bad.” He idly commented, a trick he had learned while still in the body of Onigumo while he had been a paralyzed burn victim in a cave. He wanted to take a look at her, having enjoyed spying on her the first time, but resisted so his plans would stay on course.
“I doubt it.” She breathed out, grasping her antibacterial soap bar and beginning the painful process of cleaning her body and as much of the wounds as possible. The smell made his nose burn, but the very fact that it did had him more curious about its properties. When she was finally done and moving out of the water she was shivering to the point of her teeth clicking together. “I’ve never had injuries like this before, nothing beyond a scraped knee or cut finger.” She tried to explain, grabbing her towel to dry off with but when she let out a soft shuddering cry Naraku had heard his cue.
“Allow me to assist, I will be nothing but noble in my touches. On my honor.” He smiled, knowing that he had none to swear on. He hadn’t given her time to deny him as he moved up to her back and grasped the cloth she had to dry herself with and began to gently pat the gashes across her honey kissed skin. She bit into her hand, and not gently from what he could see, as he did this. Any other human would have been a mess with such wounds, but not the woman from the well; he almost felt slightly impressed.
“Thank you…. Again.” She was controlling her breathing now, a nice deep breath in and a slow exhale till it was all out even though it shuddered slightly.
“Since you have agreed to my aid I believe, with the obvious lack of protection, that the first thing you should learn is how to heal yourself.” He had finished drying off the wounds which were not fatally deep but deep enough to push the tip of his finger into partially. She had grasped a small jar of ointment as he finished, handing it back to him.
“Will you put this on the wounds, thickly. Please. It will help with the pain and healing process.” She had seen him in the corner of her eye smell it and shift his features to a mixture of disgust and intrigue. “It is medicine from my home.” She offered before turning back around, she hadn’t really thought of what it meant to have the demon put the ointment on her back until it was happening and her hormones came into play.
His touches were feather soft against her wounds, it almost didn’t hurt at all when he began to gently massage it around and in the wounds, she was sighing in relief after a moment. The pain reliever in the medicine was a miracle, it took the harsh sting away and left only a dull ache when she would breathe. After the main pain was gone though, she could feel just how delicious his hands felt while they were smoothing the cream over her lower back around the gashes. She didn’t want to speak, she didn’t want to think, she just wanted to focus on the pain being gone and being grateful but her mind had other plans. She kept remembering her dream and how it felt to have him touching her in it. “How do I do that?” she spoke after a moment, responding to his proposal of healing.
When Naraku started to smell the faint hint of arousal in the air he smirked, it appeared that she was attracted to him already. But she was speaking to him once more and it was time to play his game. “You want it.” He leaned forward, speaking gently into her ear. “You are a priestess, you can harness your energy to do your will. You have to want it more than anything, you have to want to be healed.”
Kagome had gasped, his voice was suddenly so close to her that she shivered with the warmth of his breath hitting the shell of her ear. “But I do want it…” She realized she was whispering and scolded herself mentally. Why in the world was she suddenly having a harder time breathing? It had to of been fatigue taking over and making her mind sluggish.
“Really want it Kagome. Think of nothing else. Think of a pink light filling the gashes in your back and when it stops glowing your skin is flawless once more.” He had moved his hands up to her bare shoulders as he spoke, “Calm yourself and focus on the power inside of you, the same power that allows you to feel the shards.” He was smirking even more now, knowing that the way he was having her do the healing was the method that dark priestesses would use, it was for personal gain. A pure priestess could heal herself, yes, but the methods used were more focused on the power of purity and the need to help others, not self gain since they would heal normally otherwise.
She fought through the fog that he was causing, finding it harder to focus on the needing to be healed part than on the wanting to be healed. When he compared the feeling she was looking for to the feeling she got when a shard was nearby she understood a little more about what she was trying to conjure up in herself. She didn’t want to be weak anymore, and she didn’t want to be in this much pain either, she wanted to prove that she could handle herself, and most of all she wanted to be better and powerful like she was supposed to be. With the thoughts going through her mind she was so focused on pulling the energy from herself that she didn’t notice Naraku had shifted away from her as a soft pink glow illuminated the wounds and slowly mended them as she tried to focus.
When the glow faded and she was still trying Naraku realized that she didn’t know what she had done. “Kagome. You did it.” He heard her gasp once more and the air around her seemed to fill with excitement. He watched her test it out, moving her back slowly at first to make sure it was true then she was stretching and giggling a bit. The demon watching her had to use every bit of facial control he had not to openly admire the priestess because the scraps she wore were absolutely delicious.
“Thank you!” she stood up then, not having to care about an injury. “This is amazing! I didn’t think I could do it!” she turned to face him, watching as he stand up from where he had been crouched down to assist her. She bit her lip as he stood fully to tower over her and couldn’t figure out how to thank him more. His red eyes were locked on her body though, she noticed that he risked a glance down and remembered she was still in her bathing suit and blushed a bright red, “Umm, Can you turn around again.. please.” She was shifting in her spot, fighting the urge to act like a girl since in this time she was a woman to everyone.
“Why are you not married with children?” he caught her off guard with the question and the embarrassment of being in such revealing clothes in the era faded quickly. He wanted to keep her from getting too guarded so he tried to get her talking, keep her from thinking to much on her current situation.
“Where I am from women do not have children until they are in their twenties. And they do not get married while they are still as young as I am.” She watched him nod as he turned away from her so she could slip into the pajamas she had.
“Where are you from?” he inquired, hearing the shuffle of clothing as she dressed herself.
“A place called Tokyo.” She wasn’t lying, but it did not exist in this time period so she still felt slightly guilty for ‘lying’.
“I have traveled this country for a long time, Kagome, and have never heard of such a place. Where is it?” Naraku turned around as he heard the noise of clothing stop and was face to face with her as she was drying her hair.
“Well, it can only be found by people from there.” She still wasn’t lying, but was definitely walking the line.
“Perhaps one day you can show me.” He idly spoke but quickly moved on from the topic when he saw her stiffen slightly. “Now that you have healed yourself the talent should come easier with each use. I suggest you practice, you can heal others as you healed yourself. Allow me to demonstrate.” He moved his finger up to his fangs and pressed into one harshly, blood began to seep from the wound instantly and she was wide eyed. “Heal me.”
Kagome was shocked he had hurt himself willingly, she knew demons healed quickly but to see him actually hurt himself for the sake of teaching her something was in many ways a surprise to her. Again she couldn’t figure out what to make of the demon that was showing her how to control her natural gifts. His aura had never faltered from the darkness she felt in him, yet he was the farthest thing from dark, unlike Inuyasha it seemed. She closed the space between them, grateful that her pajamas were thin pants and a form fitting black t-shirt so she wasn’t too revealed now. “How?”
“The same way you did yourself. Want it.” He was chuckling as he looked down at her, he knew she could feel his evil and yet she still stayed in his presence unlike other holy beings, and she was even going to HEAL him of her own free will. Peculiar and benefiting for him indeed.
She didn’t ask him about her next move, she just did what she thought was right as she reached out to grasp his finger gently; this startled him since no one touched him willingly. She tried to remember exactly how she had felt when she healed herself and could feel the stirrings of the magic inside her start to build. “Heal” she whispered to his finger and she watched in complete amazement as the puncture wound began to mend itself in the pink glow he had described to her. “I… I did it.” She whispered and looked up to him. “Did it hurt?”
“No.” He looked at his finger and nodded softly, deeming she had done very well for her first try. “You must be returning to your fire, it is getting cold and now that you are healed you should rest. Using your abilities will take some time for your body to get used too. You will be needing nourishment and rest if you wish to wake tomorrow with adequate energy.” He watched her nod and gather her belongings, still in shock at what she had accomplished.
“How will you keep showing me how to use my abilities?” she looked up at him as she walked back on the trail she had created when she walked to the stream. She realized just how dark it had become when she looked towards where the dim glow of her fire was, “I don’t think Inuyasha would take to well to you being around so it must be done in secret.”
He agreed with her logic and thought for a moment on how to make her more comfortable with summoning him and how to keep an eye on her at the same time. He thought of an idea then and glanced at her. “I can give you a talisman so that you may summon me when you are alone.” He was grinning on the inside now, the shard he had given her had completely lost any pull he had on it when he used it the night before so this would be perfect.
“That would be smart, I could tell Inuyasha that it as from my home. Not that he will ask.” She mumbled the last part.
“Then it is done.” He walked over to the water and ran his hand over the ground until he felt the stone pull to his palm. When he showed her the red gem she smiled a bit, recognizing it as a garnet stone. He squeezed his palm tightly shut and after a few moments opened it to reveal it was glowing slightly as his blood seeped into it. He pulled a silver pen from his hair then as he walked towards her and with a brief flash of dark light the gem and pin had molded into a small dainty ring in appearance so as not to draw attention but it still seemed to be clearly crafted with care and seeped his aura. He handed it to her then, watching as she took it from his hand gently and smiled; the fact that she touched it at all was further proof of her ignorance to the ways of demons, it should have filled her with disgust to even think about touching it.
“This is perfect, it won’t get in the way of anything. In my home rings are a very common item for women to wear for absolutely no reason so I will not have to give one.” She slipped it onto her finger and just as with the jewel it seemed to cleanse that area around her of any hint of his taint but she could still feel him clearly where the point of the stone touched her skin on the inside of the ring.
“Only you or myself can take it off. So do not fear it being lost or stolen by bandits. It will act as a beacon so I can find you and you can summon me with a whisper. If you are ever in a situation where you are desperate put a drop of your blood on it and it will protect you.” Naraku explained as he felt Inuyasha coming closer with the fresh kill. “I suggest you head back now or else you will have to explain why you are not at the fire already.”
Kagome gasped in remembrance that she was expected at her campsite and thanked him as she took off running, not wanting to deal with Inuyasha’s attitude anymore today. She broke through the tree line and started to put up her items and lay out the wet ones so they would dry. Her ramen wasn’t cold, but it wasn’t warm either so as she ate it she made faces that clearly said she didn’t like the noodles one bit. Inuyasha made his appearance then and dropped a dead beast next to her which had her shrieking in disgust as she avoided the pooling blood. “Inuyasha! SIT!” she screamed at him as she quickly moved her sleeping bag and items away from it. “You are so RUDE!” She cringed and glared at him as he stood back up with a growl.
“It’s dinner. Cut yourself off what you want and cook it up like you always do. Don’t ruin it all wench.” He waited for her to gather herself and dug through her bag, she gagged while she cut away the scraps of meat she would cook and he was laughing about it. “How do you expect to survive out here if you can’t even stand the site of dead food?”
“You could be nice enough to cut me off a chunk instead of making me do this! You know I am not from here!” she glared at him as she put the small frying pan over the fire to get it hot, she would have to go back to the stream after she ate to wash off the skillet and refill her canteen since she had forgotten. It didn’t take long for the meat to cook since she cut it up into smaller chunks and after she was done eating the bland meat she made a mental note to get some spices from home next time she went through the well. “Thank you for the food.” She mumbled, watching him shrug his shoulder and jump up into a tree.
“Don’t wander off too far, I don’t wanna have to save your pathetic ass again.” He called after her as she went to wash the pan and fill her canteen. He had noticed that she didn’t smell injured anymore and when she moved she wasn’t cringing as she had been, it caught his attention and had him following her. “Why aren’t you hurt anymore?” his voice wasn’t cruel but it wasn’t gentle either.
“I don’t know. When I was washing the wound I kept wishing that it would heal quickly cause it hurt and the next thing I know it was healed.” He seemed impressed slightly and nodded a bit.
“Guess you aren’t completely useless after all.” Then he walked away from her as she glared at him, following him back to the campsite so she could get some rest. Naraku had been right, the more she was awake after using her abilities the more tired she was, but food had helped a lot and now all she wanted to do was sleep.
Morning came too quickly and his rude awakening came even quicker it seemed, he had yelled at her to get up as he ripped open her sleeping bag and grouched that they were wasting daylight and had to find the jewel shards SHE broke. It was barely bright out, she would have considered this around four or five a.m and far too early to be awake but he was a slave driver as always but she managed to get all of her stuff back into her bag and was changed quickly into a new pair of jeans though she left her black shirt on. “You might be a half demon, but I am ALL human and need more sleep than this!” she grumbled, not being a morning person at all.
“You shoulda slept more then.” He threw the remark at her with his nose high in the air, she waited for it then. Watching him crouch down as he started to run and leap across the land.
“Sit.” He had been midair when she whispered the word and went plunging into the ground with a yelp of pain and groans of displeasure. She rode past him on her bike then, not even looking at him. “You should be nicer to me.”
