Hidden Powers
Nightmare

Kagome let out a small yawn signaling that she was indeed in need of rest. She hadn’t slept in almost two days after all. The first day being the time that Inuyasha destroyed the well and the second being the time he raped her. So she was pretty exhausted.

Bankotsu noticed the yawn and let out one himself. It seems that they were both very tired. “Let’s go start a fire and get some sleep” He looked at her and said “I’ll go dig the pit while you go gather the wood, alright”

“Yes!” She said doing an American Military salute just to be funny. He looked at her strangely as she ran off to get some wood for the fire.

He then turned his attention back to the ground where he was going to dig the pit. “Now, how will I do this? Hmm.” He looked around and found a sturdy stick that could be used to dig the pit. He grabbed it and started shoveling with the stick thus created the fire pit. Once he was done, he saw that Kagome came back with the fire wood She dumped it all on the ground beside the pit. She didn’t know why, but she was exhausted. ‘Probably because of her injury,’ he thought.

He looked at the wood and saw that it was big enough to create a fire. She even brought small sticks to start the fire with. ‘It seems like she knows what she’s doing,’ he thought.

He threw the wood into the pit, but put the sticks in first. He went and rubbed the sticks together with his palms, thus creating a spark that caused a fire. He then put the big wood in there and a giant fire appeared.

Kagome went right up to it and put her hands in front of it. She didn’t go too close to the fire, just enough so that she wouldn’t get cold.

Bankotsu smiled as he saw her in front of the fire. He wasn’t exactly cold, but he was extremely tired and wanted to sleep. The reason he made the fire was because that he wanted to be for them to be warm while he and Kagome slept.

“How about we get some sleep?” He asked her.

“I couldn’t agree with you more” She said to him. Seeing that she didn’t have her sleeping back with her or at least a blanket. She then realized why he made the fire. ‘He must’ve made it so that we wouldn’t be cold at night. The forest floor is hard and uncomfortable, but it’ll have to do.’ She sighed as she laid down on the forest floor.

She was on her side trying to go to sleep, but it wouldn’t come over her. She rolled onto her back and just stared at the stars. ‘They are so beautiful here. It’s nothing like where I came from’ Eventually she fell asleep while staring at the stars. Even breathing came from her as her chest rose up and down in her sleep. Suddenly, she began whimpering as she was beginning to have a nightmare.

Nightmare

Kagome was running as fast as her legs could take her, but it just wasn’t fast enough, because the demon easily caught up to her. It pinned her to the ground as she looked up at it in fear. She tried to use her claws to attack it, but she only succeeded in scratching the demon. The demon turned out to be Inuyasha. “I-I won’t let you rape me again” She said trying to sound brave, but that didn’t exactly work. It only caused Inuyasha to laugh.

“Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. You’re too beautiful for that, my mate.”

“Mate?”

“Yes, mate. I can’t wait until our pups are born. I swear I’ll be a great father to them.”

“If I were to ever have children. I will never let you touch them.”

“You bitch.” He angrily said while putting a clawed hand around her throat thus choking her.

“I-I can’t breathe,” she managed to get out. He put more pressure on her neck and before she died, she woke up from her horrible nightmare.

End Nightmare

Bankotsu was sound asleep until he heard Kagome whimper. He stood up and walked over to her. She was awake and sitting up on the hard ground. He saw that tears were rolling down her face and there was a shocked expression there too.

He sat next to her and put a hand on her shoulder. She turned around sharply to see who had touched her. She thought it was Inuyasha, but it turned out to be Bankotsu. ‘Oh, yeah. I’m not with Inuyasha anymore.’ She thought, letting out a sigh of relief.

She practically jumped on Bankotsu and almost knocked them both down to the forest floor. However, he stayed firm and didn’t let them fall. He felt tears soak into his haori, he was almost annoyed by all the crying that she did and forced her to look at him. He then wiped the tears from eyes with his thumb. She stopped crying by now, but still she apologized. “I’m sorry. I’m doing a lot of crying and I think it’s bothering you”

“Don’t worry about it.” He gently said to her. “You had a bad dream, didn’t you?”

“Yeah, I did”

“Tell me about it”

“W-what? Why?”

“Just tell me”

So Kagome began to tell him about her nightmare and he stayed silent through every minute of it.

“So, Inutrasha called you his mate in your nightmare.”

“Yes, and he said something about me being pregnant too, but that’s just a dream and they don’t mean anything. They are just figments of someone’s imagination.”

“I see.” Bankotsu looked up at the sky and saw that it was still dark and decided that Kagome would be much safer sleeping with him. He looked over at where the fire was and saw that it was still going. ‘Not much time has passed since we fell asleep’

“Bankotsu?” Kagome asked, looking at him.

He looked back at her and said “Sleep with me.” Her face immediately heated up in a fierce blush.

“S-s-sleep with you?” She asked kind of in shock that he would even say such a thing. However, what Bankotsu suggested was the complete opposite of what Kagome was thinking.

He laughed and said “I don’t mean it that way.”

“Eh?”

“I meant that I want to keep you company and that you’ll probably sleep better if I’m by your side.”

“Oh, okay” She said, nodding her head. She let out a yawn signaling that she was still tired. She laid down on the forest floor once more and he did the same. He wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close. She snuggled into the warmth of his body. Eventually they fell asleep.
