A/n I apologize for the late chapter so hopefully it was worth the wait. There is a lemon in this chapter and it’s the first one I have written so hopefully it turned out ok. Other than that enjoy the chapter and let me know what you think.

Chapter 4 Kidnapped?

“ Oh Kagome.” Sango sniffed as a tear rolled down her cheek. “ I am here, we will figure this out together ok.” Sango didn’t know what else to say, she was shocked. She didn’t realized how much danger Kagome had truly been in. It shook her to her soul and she let another tear fall. Miroku tugged Sango to him and wiped her tears away. His hand shook as he brought it down from her face and he looked over to the two fox demons whose auras shimmer and flared with anger.

“ Well that will mean you have to stay here then. I would like to see someone try and find you here and if they did they would have to get through me and Shippo first.” Abigail snarled, her tails were fluffed out and her instincts were calling out to protect her friend. Shippo was doing a little better to containing his anger but not by much, his eye’s shifted to a deeper emerald color and his demon cried out for blood for the one that hurt the woman he considered an older sister. He took Abigail’s hand in his and stroked it, trying to calm his feisty little fiancé.

“ Yes my mate, we will protect her, she is our family too and no one messes with a kitsune family.” Shippo growled before taking a deep breath to regain control of himself. “I should go let my parents and siblings know what’s happening. We need to be on high alert.” Shippo got up from the floor and help his spirited future mate up.

“ Shippo, that’s the first time you have ever called me your mate, I like it.” She purred and then blushed as she realized she had an audience.

“ Oi, kid better hurry up and get that house finished before Abby decides she can’t wait anymore.” Inuyasha quipped and barked out a laugh. Kagome giggled from behind her hand and Sango and Miroku also chuckled.

“ I agree Inuyasha.” Was all she could respond before she burst into laughter at the sight of her now blushing fiancé. Shippo shook his head took her hand and started towards the door. “ Well I guess that means bye.”

“ See you for supper Inuyasha.” Shippo called back.

“ Shippo tell your mother the cinnamon buns were amazing.” Kagome called after her friends. She heard a yip and knew they had heard her.

“ So how about we pick a movie and settle in.” Miroku suggested to his friends who both agreed that was a good idea since Kagome couldn’t be up and around much.

After two movies it was almost time for dinner, Kagome was glad to get up after all the lying around made her feel lazy. She had Inuyasha grab her bag for her and she limped upstairs to the room to shower and then change. Inuyasha bugged her to carry her but she felt she needed a little bit of movement or she would get stiff. Sango and Miroku went and put their belongings in their room and got ready for dinner themselves. Soon enough she was out of the shower and changed into a pair of jeans and a plain white shirt that showed her curves nicely. She would need to go to town at some point and get some more clothes at the little shop there. She had enough for a few days but she didn’t want to always be washing everything. Her other option was to see if someone could go to her apartment and get some for her since she couldn’t go herself. She French braided her hair and slowly walked out to see Inuyasha sitting in one of the chairs on his I-pad. His face was set into a deep frown and he seemed to be concentrating too much to notice her coming.

“ What’s you reading?” Kagome questioned, standing over him, running her hand across his shoulder. He signed and decided he couldn’t hide the news he learned from her.

“ Koga has reported you missing saying that you were kidnapped last night. What kind of game does he think he’s playing? I just don’t understand this move at all. My only thought is he is trying to draw you or your mother out in the open.” He looked up with worry in his eyes, and ran his hand through his hair in frustration. Kagome took the Ipad from him and sat in his lap; once she was comfortable she looked down at the story. The picture showed a distressed Koga outside of the police station still in his tux from the wedding, minus the bow tie which hung limp loose around his neck. His piecing blue eyes had tears in them and his jet black hair was mess and not in the usual pony tail he wore.

“ What can we do? I can’t face him Inuyasha, not until we know why he did this to me. He loved me at some point and we used to be friends. I just feel in my heart he’s doesn’t have the black soul to do this.” Her brows furrowed as she thought about how to explain why she felt like this. “ When he would do the things he did he would look like he was in pain himself. At time’s he would hold back and would cry out in frustration. I didn’t realize it then but I don’t think he wanted to hurt me. None it makes since, at one point we were happy and then one day he just snaps and starts to abuse me with no warning, no nothing. It just doesn’t make sense to me.” Kagome sighed and rubbed her temples, she was so confused. She wanted to hate Koga but couldn’t. She just didn’t have it in her to hate him; she knew there had to be more behind his motives.

“ As much as I hate the guy I don’t think he’s capable either, at least not without some motivation or a push. I promise you Kagome no one from your family will have to go there. I am calling Naraku and he can go deal with this. They won’t be expecting that.” Inuyasha grinned at the look of shock Koga is going to have when Naraku shows up.

Inuyasha cupped Kagome’s cheek and brushed away the tear that had slipped down. He couldn’t imagine what kind of conflicting emotions she was feeling but he would do anything to see her smile. He leaned in and kissing her gently, tugging her close to his body. He didn’t allow the kiss to go any further but kept it gentle and soothing. She responded to him, more tears escaped but she didn’t stop kissing him. Their auras brightened around them and blended more, without them noticing. Inuyasha pulled away and buried his head in her hair. He held her close and let his rumble calm her.

“ Better?” He asked pulling away and pushed a strand a hair away from her face.

“ Much, now should we get down stairs before they come looking for us.” Kagome giggle as he smiled and helped her to her feet.

No one went hungry in the Tashio household as Izayoi made an Italian feast. There was homemade carbonara, fettucine Alfredo and linguini with clam sauce. She also made bruschetta and simply dressed bocconcini and of course there was red and white wine being served. As everyone was finishing their desert of chocolate cake, made by Eve, and the coffee and tea was being served it was then Inuyasha decided it was a good time to tell everyone about what he read in the news. Kagome was currently finishing her second glass of wine while she waited for the tea to be ready. Sango got up to check the tea that was steeping and to grab some tea cups for her and Kagome.

“ I hate to ruin a perfectly fine evening but there is something you guys need to know, it’s either you hear it from me or read it in the news later.” Inuyasha waited for everyone to be quiet. “ Koga reported Kagome missing, he’s saying she was kidnapped.” Inuyasha let the news sink in before he set out the plan with everyone.

“ What that is absurd? Why would the police even listen to him? You would think they would contact her mother before going public with such a crazy story. I should march right down there and straighten this all out.” Mai spat out, before pulling out her cell phone to contact her office. She furiously typed an email to her assistant and then her press secretary to see why she was not notified.

“ You would think Mama but we both think this is a plan to draw our family or at least me out into the open.” Kagome explained finishing her last drop of wine before taking the cup of tea Sango handed her. “ Thank you.”

“ No problem.” Sango answered sitting back down with Miroku.

“ It seems like a foolish plan on his part if you ask me. He’s going to look ridiculous when the truth or at least half truth comes out.” Miroku commented stirring some sugar into his coffee.

“ I agree Miroku, I don’t see what he has to gain by this.” Shippo agreed.

“ He is a stupid wolf.” Abby snarled taking another sip or her wine. Sango nodded her head in agreement.

“ Well, it doesn’t matter I am sending Naraku to straighten it all out and maybe he could get some answers out of Koga for us.” Inuyasha knew that Naraku could handle himself, he was a top lawyer and he wouldn’t fall into the trap that Koga was trying to set.

“ I am going to go call Sota and grandpa and make sure they are ok. I know they are safe as long as they are on the shrine grounds but maybe I should have Sota pulled out of school. We will also need to release an office statement. I should call Sesshomaru to figure out who in our office failed to inform us of this.” Mai muttered more to herself and left the table to go call her son and father in law while still writing emails. Izayoi got up from the table and decided to go be with her friend and see if she could help. Kagome smiled seeing her mom switch from caring mother to business woman was always impressive.

“ Inuyasha let us know what you need and how it goes with Naraku. Abby and I have to go if we want to get any work done on the house tonight.” Shippo said grabbing his and Abigail’s dishes and laid them by the sink.

“ Not one word Miroku.” Sango said elbowing him, seeing the lecherous smile on his face.

“ My darling how could you think such of me?” Miroku said trying to sooth his fiancé. Kagome giggled and smiled at her friends.

“ Really Hoshi? Really?” Sango answered and rolled her eyes.

“ Inuyasha I think this would be a good time to start cleaning up the dishes.” Kagome whispered, while hiding another giggle behind her hand.

“ Not for you beautiful. I think you and Sango should go relax, the monk and myself will take care of this.” Inuyasha didn’t leave room for argument as he picked her up and brought her to the living room to finish her tea and relax.

“ Yes my beautiful Sango, I think Inuyasha is right.” He picked up her tea and just about dragged his protesting woman to sit with Kagome.

“ Suck up.” Sango sighed and smiled at him as he placed a chaste kiss on her forehead.

“ But you know you wouldn’t change him.” Kagome commented while taking a sip of tea.

“ No I wouldn’t. So are you going to tell me about you and Inuyasha now?” Sango replied giggling.

“ Well there isn’t much to tell, we have kissed and it felt like my soul would explode.” Kagome smiled and looked over at her friend.

“ That’s defiantly something to tell.” Sango scolded in fun. The two women continues to giggle and gossip and talk about Sango and Miroku’s upcoming nuptials.

Inuyasha smiled at the conversation his woman and friend were having as it almost mirror the one he was currently having with the monk. Except Miroku wasn’t getting any information out of Inuyasha and it was frustrating the hell out of his friend. Inuyasha passed Miroku another dish to dry and listened as Miroku explain how he and Kagome could both use their powers to make the wards surround the property more sensitive and effective. Inuyasha agreed with him that it would be a good idea to do that in a couple days once Kagome was feeling stronger. Her aura was still dimmer then usual and he wanted to wait till it was back to it vibrant glow.

“ You know maybe you should send Naraku to the shrine to pick up some privacy wards. If he can get Koga alone he might be able to get some information out of him.” Miroku looked to his friend who nodded, but still had a concerned look on his face.

“ Any information would be helpful to us right now. Sesshomaru has a good starting point but if we could get a name or something that would lead us in the right direction. We can only hide here for so long.” Inuyasha sighed and almost put his wet hand through his hair on reflex.

“ Inuyasha not many know where your parents cabin is or that it even exists so I am sure they will not know to look here. But I think it’s important to prepare just in case they do find out Kagome’s here. Like I said we can amp up the wards and maybe run through some training exercises. Well another thing I was thinking you could do is make Kagome your mate.” Miroku lowered his voice as Inuyasha growled at him.

“ That’s not for you to decide when we become mates Miroku.” Inuyasha snapped and almost dropped the pot he was scrubbing.

“ Hear me out friend.” Miroku said defensively and looked at him to make sure he was listening. “ I didn’t mean to offend you or Kagome by saying that. What I meant was you could mark Kagome, make her your mate without having sex, a mark of intention. I know you need to take things slow with her but the benefits of you making her as your mate now almost outweigh the negatives. She would gain strength, speed, healing abilities and a link to you at all times that is better than a cell phone. To me if my Sango was in danger I would want her to have everything possible to help keep her safe.” Miroku explain quickly so as not to offend the hanyou again.

“ I see what you are saying and it’s something I will have to talk to Kagome about.” Inuyasha would have to give the subject some thought before even broaching it with Kagome. He didn’t want to scare her by coming on too strong or fast. He just wanted her to be happy and healthy, he knew they were meant to be mates but it was all so rushed and not how he wanted to do this.

A couple hours later Inuyasha was carrying Kagome to their room as she yawned for the second time on the trip there. They had spent the evening playing card games with the moms, Miroku and Sango and now the strain of the day had his little woman dead tired. Inuyasha sat Kagome on the bed and grabbed another one his t-shirts. He handed it to her along with her tooth brush and a cup of water. She brushed her teeth and rinsed spitting into the cup and handed it back to Inuyasha. Kagome was too tired to argue with Inuyasha about taking care of her. He helped her change into the shirt and tucked her into bed; she smiled as he gave her a quick chaste kiss.

“ Thank you.” She mumbled as she sank down into the bed and cuddle into the blankets.

“ Anything for you, Kagome.” He whispered.

Inuyasha grabbed his phone and walked to the bathroom to call Naraku, so as to not disturb Kagome. Naraku had been their family's lawyer for about 10 years and he was damn good at his job. He was cold, calculated and daring, he took each challenge given to him and completed them with much success. He was a half demon like Inuyasha, his mother was full demon and father human, he had long black hair, red piercing eyes sharp features that made people avoid looking at him. He didn’t sport any features that made him look half demon like Inuyasha so most people suspected he was human or full demon. His mate Kagura was full demon and was able to control wind. Her features were sharp like her mates but softer. She tended to always wear her straight black hair back in a traditional bun, showing off the different earrings she always wore in her elf shaped ears. Inuyasha knew if anyone could take Koga off his game it was Naraku. Inuyasha hit send and waited, after the fifth ring Naraku picked up.

" Inuyasha this has better be good. I would just about to have sex with my mate." Naraku explained coldly.

" Keh, fuck I guess you are the dumb ass for picking up the phone. Kagura is going to be pissed, still working on baby number two?" Inuyasha chuckled as he watched his beautiful future wife sleep for a moment thinking about when her belly would be round with their first pup. The image made him smile wide and heart swell.

" If you must know, yes, and she says hello and wants to know how Kagome is?" Naraku sighed and smiled over at his stunning mate. She sat up in bed and smiled softly back at him and waited patiently for the answer to her question. He wanted to tell her she was glowing but then that would give way that she was pregnant and he was enjoying all the sex they were having. They were hoping this time it would be a boy, their first pregnancy they almost lost their daughter due to complications. Their daughter was born with a rare condition that almost killed her and Kagura during labor. Kanna was now a happy 3 and half year old and they thought it would be a good time to add another child to the family.

" Kagome is doing ok, healing well but the emotional scars are taking their toll. We are going to be mates someday. She said yes to my proposal. Now I need to plan a human one but anyway that's not why I am calling." Inuyasha realized he had started rambling and he could hear kagura giggling in the background. Damn demon hearing Inuyasha cursed.

" She will make a fine mate Inuyasha!" Kagura called out. Naraku let out a short chuckle and then went back to business. His mate and child always seemed to bring the softer side of him out.

" So I assume this has to do with Koga and reporting Kagome was kidnapped. I am also going to make the assumption that you want me to go down to the station and represent the future Mrs. Taisho?" Naraku asked wickedly. He loved this part of his job, his demon loved the thrill of the hunt and in this case the thrill of ruining a lot of people's day.

" Naraku I swear you sound excited. But yes that's exactly what we want you to do. We know for fact that Koga isn't in control of his situation. So we need you to find out who and how he is being controlled." Inuyasha explained and then went on to tell him how someone had been using a spell on Kagome to control her and how she broke free. He told Naraku to go by Miroku’s shrine and pick up the wards that Miroku's mentor would have prepared for him.

" Alright Inuyasha you go back to your future mate and we will talk in the morning." Naraku said.

" Have fun." Inuyasha answered and ended the call.

He watched Kagome sleep for a few minutes before going to get a shower before bed. 45 minutes later he came out of the washroom his hair finally fully dry, in only a pair of boxes. He crawled in next to Kagome and pulled her into him. She sighed in her sleep and snuggled deeper into his embrace. He looked down at the woman in his arms and still couldn’t believe that she was here with him. He dreamt of this day for a long time and even with the many regrets of not telling Kagome sooner he was elated that they were finally together. He knew that they would have some struggles ahead but there was nothing they couldn’t handle together. Inuyasha closed his eyes and nuzzled the top of Kagome’s hair, breathing her scent in. It wasn’t long before the calming effect of her scent lulled him into a light slumber.

Sango and Miroku made their way to the room they always occupied while staying at the cabin. It was the exact same layout at Inuyasha’s except the closet was smaller and there wasn’t a balcony off the room. The walls were painted a soft grey and the furniture was all white. Instead of a big four poster bed like Inuyasha’s, a sleigh bed was in its place with dark blue and purple bedding. An entertainment center similar to Inuyasha’s stood in the corner and a slightly smaller but well stock bookcase next to it. Miroku put their luggage away in the closet and came back out to find her fiancé getting ready for bed. A smiled tugged at his lips as he watched her wash her face and brush he teeth. He walked over to join her and soon they were both ready for bed.

“ Pretty intense day.” Sango commented as she pulled back the covers to get into bed.

“ You can say that again my love. I think I know of a way to relax us both.” Miroku shot her a look that instantly set a fire blazing in her veins. Miroku was never one to be subtle and lately they had been wrapped up in so much drama they hadn’t had any time together.

Miroku tugged her to him and crashed his lips against her. She moaned as his lips massaged her own and it didn’t long for the kiss to deepen becoming more frantic by the second. He nipped her bottom lip and pulled away from her trailing open mouth kissed down her neck and collar bone. Her chest was heaving and pushing against the light tank top she wore. He tugged the top down to settle under her breast and brought his hands up to massage the soft globes tweaking her hardening peaks. She moaned softly and shifted her body to straddle his hips, grinding into his pelvis. She smirked wickedly as he moaned for her; she sped up her movements and brought her mouth back to his in a desperate fiery kiss. He let out another moan and grabbed her hips to stop the moment.

“ Sneaky little ninja trying to speed things up.” Miroku chuckled before rolling over and forcing Sango underneath him. She smiled with a little pout before her eyes lit up with joy as she watched him slowly start to kiss his way down her body.

He trailed kisses down her front, stopping for a moment to place a kiss on each breast. With a soft squeeze of his hand he continued his decent, trailing his hands down her sides. He stopped at the hem of her underwear before slowly slipping them down her legs and off her. He settled between her legs and set to work making his little ninja scream for him. He took a long lick of her pussy stopping at the little bud just above her open. She shivered under him as his nipped lightly before swirling his tongue, while using two digits to enter her. He slowly started to pump his fingers in and out of her while swirling his tongue around the bud. She shifted and let out a whine as he picked up the pace. She could feel her body winding up, and tried to thrust her hips to meet his strokes but a steady hand kept her hips planted to the mattress. He sped up his tempo, while backing away from her, replacing his tongue with the pad of his thumb. She moaned his name as he used her thumbs to flick the bundle of nerves at a rapid speed. Her muscles started to tighten and with one last thrust of his fingers the tension snapped sending pleasure through her body. She clamped her legs tightly around the one hand that was still moving in her to stop him. He pried his hand free and slowly brought it to his mouth and licked the juices off his fingers. Her heart rate was just starting to slow a little when she opened her eyes to see him lick his other finger. The sight sent instant heat back to her core as he looked at her with hungry eyes.

“ Please Miroku, I need you.” She pleaded and leaned forward to pull his now tented boxers down.

“ As my woman wishes.” He responded while smoothly pulling his boxers off, releasing his strained erection. She mewled at the sight and lid back beckoning him to her.

He answered her plea and crawled up her body and aligning himself with her. He slowly sank into the woman he loved and let out a groan. It had been too long since they last made love and he wanted to make it last. He pushed his upper body away from Sango and slowly started to pump in and out. She moaned, arching her back as he entered her. She ran her hands up his defined abs towards his strong shoulders to clasp onto them digging her nails into his skin. She met his thrusts and urged him to pick up the pace. He wasn’t the only one that missed their love making. Miroku got the hint and pulled himself to his knees, dragging her body with him and angling so he was hitting something deep inside her. She begged for him to take her harder and faster and he complied. It wasn’t long before he could feel the telltale tingle in his balls of his approaching orgasm. He slowed his pace and grabbed Sango’s hand.

“ Touch yourself love.” He commanded and slowly started to pick up the pace again.

Sango was in heaven, he was hitting the spot deep inside of her and she was getting closer to the edge. She just about whimper when he slowed his pace but when he grabbed her hand and ordered her to touch herself she knew he must be close. She complied and quickly started to flick her swollen pearl. Miroku collapsed on her, taking a few breathes before rolling them to their sides. Sango struggled to catch her breath as she came down from the high she felt.

“ Not bad hoshi.” She whisper and let out a little moan as he slipped out of her.

“ Good to know I haven’t lost my touch.” He answered grabbing the blankets that had been kicked to the bottom of the bed.

“ No you haven’t. I love you Miroku.” She sighed as the exhaustion of the day and recent activities caused her eyes to droop.

“ I love you too, my dearest Sango.” He pulled her close to him and they both fell into a deep, well deserved sleep.

Kagome looked around; she was in her apartment, her heart started to race, her skin glistened with nervous sweat. Was Koga here, was he mad at her for going out for the day with Sango and returning late. She glanced around nervously at the small living room and into the kitchen, he wasn’t there. She crept into her bedroom and still didn’t see him. She was about to sigh in relief and go grab a shower before he showed up, when she was grabbed harshly by the arm and tugged back. She yelped in pain as her arm was wrenched at an odd angle and spun to see a pissed off Koga looking at her.

“ Hi honey.” She said uncertainly before putting the best smile on her face and hugged him tightly, hoping to appease him before his anger got out of control.

“ You’re late Ka-go-me.” He pronounced each syllable of her name, and glared at her. She flinched at his tone, yup he’s pissed, she thought.

“ I’m so sorry, I lost track of time and swear as soon as I realized how late I was I left to come home from Sango’s.” Kagome silently prayed her perfume could cover Inuyasha’s scent because she knew he would lose it if he knew the half-demon had been visiting her. Inside she was terrified, but on the outside she kept her emotions calm as she knew the wolf could smell her change in emotion.

“ Was it only you two at her house?” He questioned, narrowing his eyes as he asked. She silently cursed and almost started to panic as she knew he would know if she was lying so she decided to tell a half truth.

“ No, but they only showed up as I was getting ready to leave.” Kagome answered carefully. It wasn’t a lie, Inuyasha and Miroku only had shown up as she was leaving the first time. She was about to go out the door as they walked in so she had decided to stay for another cup of tea. She had a good time with her friends she felt relaxed and happy as she joked and laughed with them. She felt normal for a moment instead of scared and depressed. It wasn’t till she was on the bus home that she realized that Koga was not going to be happy if he smelled Inuyasha on her and sprayed some of her perfume on before entering her building.

“ Kagome what have I told you about seeing that mutt?” He sneered and yanked her out of the hall and into the living room. Kagome cried out again as pain shot up to her arm where his claws dug in. Blood started to slowly run down her arm. She shuddered at the look he gave her and for a second her temper grew.

“ Koga you’re hurting me. I didn’t know he was going to be there. How can I predict when someone will be at someone else’s home? I’m not a god damn mind reader.” She screamed back at him, her temper getting the best of her and she knew that was the wrong answer as he seemed surprised and then narrowed his eyes. He grabbed her by both arms and threw her against the wall. She hit it with enough force that her back left a dent in it. She slid to the floor and whimpered as he came towards her. She wanted to use her powers but she couldn’t concentrate enough on them to do it. Her aura flared for a second but died back down, Koga stopped in front of her and for a second she could see a flash of regret and sadness on his face before he picked her up off the floor and slammed her body against the wall again.

“ I don’t want to do this Kagome, I hate doing this.” His eyes held so much regretted and sorrow for a second and then hardened again. “ So let this be a lesson for you. Don’t see the mutt again.” He demanded and released his grip on her. She slowly slid down the wall again and watched as the man she once loved stormed out of the apartment and slammed the door. As soon as the door closed she let the tears fall, and curled up on the floor till the world went dark around her.

Inuyasha was yanked out of his slumber with the sound of Kagome whimpering and now crying. Her heart was racing, her skin was clammy and tears streaked down her cheeks into her hair. Inuyasha slowly sat up pulling her with him and started to gently wake her up. Unfortunately there was nothing gentle about Kagome waking. She threw herself from the bed and staggered to the washroom and through up in the sink. Her body was shaking and her hands trembling as she turned the water on to rinse her mouth. She stared down at her arm where she could still see the faint scars that Koga’s claws had left. She felt Inuyasha behind her pulling her hair back and rubbing her shoulder. He handed her some mouth wash and she gladly took it, rinsing her mouth of the acid taste. She raised her head and looked at him in the mirror, her chocolate eyes now met his golden gaze and she turned around and buried herself in his embrace. She inhaled deeply, his woodsy scent calming her. She took a few more deep breaths before lifting her face to look at him. The concern and love that swirled in his molten gaze made her heart beat faster for a different reason.

The cool night air hit her cheeks as they walked through the doors to the outside. He grabbed me by the arm dragging me to the living room, his claws cut me” She pulled her arm from his embraced and showed him the faint scars. He growled and ran his hand gently over them. “ He threw me against the wall. But that’s not the part that sticks out in my mind; he looked remorseful and full of regret. Like he didn’t really want to hurt me and then he said ‘I don’t want to do this Kagome, I hate doing this’. His tone had been sad when he said that and I actually believed him but he also told me he was teaching me a lesson and I was never to see you again.” Kagome voice was soft, her mind far away with the memory.

“ Jesus Kagome if I had known he would have done that to you I never would have convinced you to stay and visit with us that day. I’m sorry.” He planted a few kisses on shoulder and let out a little whimper of sorry. He never meant to place her in danger.

“ It’s not your fault Inuyasha, he would have found a reason to teach me a ‘lesson’ either way. But what I am thinking is that the spell had been weakened slightly when I was around you that day, I stood up to him and he realized he had lost some of the control. That’s why he emphasized me never seeing you again. Your youkai must have some effect on the spell.” She clarified for him before he could put anymore blame on himself. Inuyasha sat back and let the information sink in. For some reason his Youkai had affected the spell, he realized now more than ever how important it would be mark her. Once he did, his youkai would be bound to her and it would provide more protection to her. He took a calming breath before starting to explain to her what he thought they should do.

“ Kagome earlier tonight Miroku made a comment to me about us becoming mates. I snapped at him but then he explained something to me that made sense. I didn’t know how to bring it up to you but now with this information I think this is a good time.” He fidget for a moment, watching her expression as she turned to look at him, she just smiled and he took that as a sign to continue. “ He made a point that I could mark you and you would have all the benefits of being my mate but we would wait for intimacy as I want you tell me when you are ready for that. If my youkai has a way of repelling the spell then if I mark you then you will be protected in some way from it. This is not how I wanted all this to go, I had a plan, but you’re everything to me Kagome and I can’t see you get hurt again.” He finished explaining his reasoning and sat back to waited for her to response to him, she frowned a little and looked down.

“ But if you only mark me with an mark of intent then you would be able to feel me but I wouldn’t be able to feel you I don’t like the idea of that.” She tilted her head to the side and looked at him. He smiled big and kissed her forehead, the love of this woman knew no bounds. He understood how she felt, he didn’t like the idea of only half completing the ritual but it was better than the alternative.

“ Kagome you know as well as I know what the full mating ritual entails and I just think it’s too soon. At least this way it would be a start.” He hugged her to his chest and hoped she understood that he wasn’t pressuring her into anything and that he just wanted her to be safe.

“ I appreciate that and I think it’s a good idea, but can we at least go out on one date before we jump into marking me.” She let out a light laugh at his surprised look but held her tight, already planning a perfect date for them for the next day.

“ Whatever you want, koibito.” He whispered and pressed his lips to the side of her neck. She shivered and snuggled back into him her heart fluttered. They stayed out on the balcony just enjoying the night until Kagome finally nodded off again.
