Pearl was pulled by Inuyasha towards the sewing room where he had last seen Lady Louna. When he got there though she was gone and so were most of the females other than the ones folding the silks that would go to the tailor for new kimonos and such to be made.

“She must be in her sitting room.”

Pearl said as Inuyasha pulled Pearl towards the sitting room and knocked on the door.

“Come in.”

A voice said though it was not Lady Louna’s. It was one of the Lady’s maids who was cleaning the room for her Mistress.

“Where is Lady Louna?”

Inuyasha demanded.

“She is outside by the gardens with the puppy having tea and biscuits.”

The Lady’s maid said.

Inuyasha pulled Pearl out to go find Lady Louna and almost ran smack dab into Sesshoumaru who looked at his little brother in frustration.

“Inuyasha why are you not at your lessons?”

Sesshoumaru demanded.

“Because your Mother’s servant is a bitch and I will not be ignored! I gave an order and it is your Mother’s fault this stupid bitch is in charge of the female servants! I am a Lord too and my word is just as good as yours!”

Inuyasha ground out.

“What did this female do?”

Sesshoumaru said exasperatedly. He really did not have time for Inuyasha’s temper tantrum, but the servants should know that his brother’s word was as good as his own.

Inuyasha proceeded to tell Sesshoumaru what he had done and what the bitch had said. Sesshoumaru merely rolled his eyes at this. It was ridiculous and Inuyasha did not need to go upset his Mother over such a trivial thing.

“I will talk to my Mother about this incident Inuyasha. Now go to your lessons and be quick about it.”

Sesshoumaru said leaving no room for argument.

Inuyasha was about to argue that he could handle this when Sesshoumaru grasped him by his arm and marched Inuyasha to the Matron with Pearl following behind as Inuyasha cursed his elder brother trying to get free from his grip.

“If you wish to spar with me little brother then you will behave!”

Sesshoumaru said in warning knowing that would most likely make Inuyasha stop acting so foolish.

“Well ya don’t have to manhandle me!”

Inuyasha growled as he was finally let go of and pushed into the room.

“Do well with your lessons and you will be rewarded Inuyasha. If you defy me again I will spank the daylights out of you and bare that cute little ass of yours to the females.”

Sesshoumaru warned.

Inuyasha growled at that only for Sesshoumaru to growl back in warning that he was dead serious about his threat.

Inuyasha backed down reluctantly and went with Pearl to their lessons as Sesshoumaru left to go take care of business before confronting his Mother. Mother was a bit old fashioned so it would not be easy to convince her to change her ways, but Sesshoumaru would try.

For Sesshoumaru the day was pretty much going as expected. He was to meet with the lower houses of the West to get their opinions on what more needed to be done to insure prosperity remained and disharmony quelled. This would go on for the next few days before the Eastern Lord would arrive. Also they had to make arrangements for the lesser nobles to come for the mating ceremony. He was expecting everyone in attendance for this since no one had canceled their invitations. The castle was to be filled to the brink with these lesser nobles and Sesshoumaru was concerned about Inuyasha’s behavior during all of this.

Sesshoumaru sincerely hoped that Inuyasha was learning all he could from the Matron since Sesshoumaru did not want to have to defend his position the whole ceremony considering he was mating not one, but two hanyous. The lesser nobles had mentioned their issues with this mating and had hoped for Sesshoumaru to mate with the Eastern or Southern noble Ladies. Most of the nobles expected Sesshoumaru to already have a castle of his own by now so some were concerned that this mating was not best for the Western lands. Sesshoumaru of course told the nobles they were wrong and if they tried to defy this mating he would remove his protection from their lands which of course made most of them humble while others still were plotting a way to foil this union.

When Sesshoumaru finished with his duties he went to find his Mother who was in her sitting room with the puppy he gave her. The puppy seemed excited to see him, but Mother growled at the pup to behave itself although it wiggled like mad on her lap and barked at the Alpha male.

“I see you are enjoying your gift Mother.”

Sesshoumaru said as he reached out and allowed the little pup to lick his fingers.

“Yes, Sheba keeps me company and we are working on potty training at this time. However I know you did not come to see me about the puppy so what is it son?”

Mother said as she looked up from her book to see that her son was terribly uncomfortable at the moment. It had to be something he thought was trivial to see that look on his face.

“It is about your Lady’s maid Hina.”

Sesshoumaru finally said after a long moment of silence. This was completely idiotic, but he wanted to make his mates happy and he did not want his Mother to come pinch his ear because of Inuyasha going off on her.

“Oh, has she done something wrong? You know, Hina was my Mother’s Lady’s maid and she is old. I do hope nothing had occurred that would cause you trouble. I would hate to replace her.”

Mother said seeming very upset. Louna loved her Mother and when her Mother had died all she had left was Hina and some of her Mother’s female valuables since Louna was the only female born of that litter. The rest of her Mother’s things went to her brothers along with a small fortune. Louna got nothing from her Father when he died, but the man was always with a different female never settling for one much like Touga. That Touga was even in Sesshoumaru’s life for the times he was happened to be a miracle in and of itself.

“You need not replace Hina; however do inform her that Inuyasha’s word is also mine. I want my female mate’s hair down on occasion. I do not want it up as tradition states all the time. Times are changing Mother and so are the fashions of hair. I do believe it is time we started a trend of our own.”

Sesshoumaru said to Mother feeling rather stupid he had to talk to her about this. He would think Mother would want to go out of the norm and start trying new things especially since she was being courted by a very young fox demon. Mated women did not always wear their hair up anymore.

Mother chuckled.

“You came to me to speak of this? My son I will speak to Hina, however why do you come to me for such a trivial matter?”

Mother stated still giggling a bit.

“Inuyasha wanted to come Mother, but I did not wish to see him upset you. Inuyasha has no tact even in trivial matters.”

Sesshoumaru said in frustration. He hated being laughed at.

“Oh Sesshoumaru, I can handle that little boy. You’re Father was not that different than you little brother. He had quite the temper as well and would forget to act like a Lord cursing like the devil himself. Inuyasha may be crude, but the boy is honest.”

Mother said with a smile.

“His honesty could start a war Mother. It is not amusing for him to be so uncultured.”

Sesshoumaru said in his defense.

“Inuyasha will be who he is Sesshoumaru and it will not start a war unless you allow your mate to be insulted. The boy has a right to defend himself as verbally as possible. However if he goes beyond the verbal is when you need to intervene.”

Mother said and with a flick of her fan she waved it over herself a bit. It was terribly warm today.

“That is the problem Mother. He does go beyond verbal, constantly. It is as though he has a constant trigger switch that makes him completely abnormally violent. I am surprised Hina did not get her head ripped off.”

Sesshoumaru said in frustration.

Mother chuckled.

“He doesn’t hit women otherwise our Matron would have lost her head several times by now. In fact I hear your little brother stomping down the hall at this moment heading for his tree.”

Mother said in an amused tone.

Sesshoumaru was silent for a moment and sure enough Inuyasha was stomping down the hallway grumbling obscenities as he went.

“I should go talk to him. Are we done concerning your maid?”

Sesshoumaru said in concern. He could tell Inuyasha was more agitated than normal.

“I will talk to Hina and straighten this out. Just remember listening is more important than talking when it comes to Inuyasha. He really needs to express himself otherwise you are stifling your mate and do not talk down to him. He will know if you do.”

Mother said as she went back to her reading while Sesshoumaru went after his brother.

“Curse that bitch! I hate her! I fucking despise her!”

Inuyasha roared as he ran outside trying to avoid the tears in his eyes. He wasn’t stupid damnit and he was tired of being treated like he was. She had no right to say what she said to him.

Pearl was still defending him when Inuyasha left and also went after Inuyasha to see if she could help calm him down. It was one thing to test someone; it was another to keep pushing at them until they broke.

Sesshoumaru found his little brother hitting the ground over and over again by his favorite tree as his fingers bled since there was a sharp rock he was hitting his fist on trying to break it as tears poured down his face.

“Go away Sesshoumaru……”

Inuyasha growled. He didn’t want to talk to anyone and he didn’t want anyone to see him like this.

“No. I will not go away.”

Sesshoumaru said as he went to stand by Inuyasha who suddenly and without warning attacked him.

“I hate you! I fucking hate you! You made me go see that bitch and I hate you for it!”

Inuyasha growled while the tears still flowed.

Sesshoumaru knew his little brother was upset with him, but he didn’t know why. What had the Matron done to his little brother?

Inuyasha grappled with Sesshoumaru for a long time while Pearl watched helpless to do anything else while Inuyasha cursed his brother to hell. Pearl had never seen Inuyasha so angry before although she understood.

“I don’t want to be a Lord! I hate them! I hate you!”

Inuyasha cried as Sesshoumaru finally pinned him down with Inuyasha roaring, snarling until he finally just laid there sobbing.

Sesshoumaru cupped Inuyasha’s cheek and tried to wipe away the tears with his thumb.

“Please tell me what is wrong Inuyasha…….I know you don’t hate me.”

Sesshoumaru said gently as he kissed away some of those tears.

“She called me a whore! She said I was only good for men to fuck and that was the only reason you wanted me since no woman really would! Then she called my Mother a whore!’
“She said the Lord of the East would say those things about me and you would not say anything to stop them! Then when I defended myself she laughed at me! They all started laughing!’
“I wanted to kill them! I hate her and……..and…….”

Inuyasha tried to say more, but he was so upset. He felt betrayed and hurt that his brother might not defend him. That he would allow someone to say these things about him and his dearest Mother.

“Do you really think I would not defend you?”

Sesshoumaru asked gently as he looked into Inuyasha’s eyes.

“I don’t know. You always used to put me down so why is it so different now? Why shouldn’t I believe her?”

Inuyasha said as the tears still came.

“Inuyasha I am sorry for what I said to you in the past. I love you. I have always loved you. You are not a whore and neither was your Mother. You know this. The Matron is preparing you for what might be said by the Easter Lord. I swear to you if she meant those things to truly hurt you I would kill her myself.’
“You have got to be strong little one. You cannot let things get to you so much. You know you are better than this and that those words mean nothing since they are not who you are.’
“Do you see yourself as my whore?”

Sesshoumaru asked.

“I don’t know what I am to you.”

Inuyasha said with a pout as he looked away.

“You are my lover, my best friend, and my brother. You are my family. I love you. I would not love a whore. I also mated you and thus you mean even more to me now than ever before. I will always defend you I swear it upon Father’s grave.”

Sesshoumaru said pulling Inuyasha’s face to look at him as he kissed those trembling lips.

Inuyasha then reached up and hugged his brother tightly.

Sesshoumaru sat them up and pulled Inuyasha onto his lap making the boy wrap himself around him.

Pearl came up and ran her fingers through Inuyasha’s hair.

“The Matron went beyond what should have been a simple lesson Sesshoumaru. She baited Inuyasha for hours with insult after insult. I understand being tough on him, but she was pushing and too much. I won’t forgive her for what she said to him.”

Pearl said angrily.

“I will have words with the Matron about this and form a suitable punishment.”

Sesshoumaru said.

“I want to whip her for every damn time she hit me.”

Inuyasha said feeling so angry at the woman.

“Whipping her is not nearly good enough. It has to be something she will remember.”

Pearl said.

“Have faith in me both of you. She will suffer. I promise you she will.”

Sesshoumaru said since no one upset his mates like this and got away with it. If the Lord of the East tried he would find himself at war with the West even if they could not afford it.
