Inuyasha thought Sesshoumaru was nuts trying to overpopulate the demons, but he seemed determined as he grasped his little brother about the waist and flew with him back to the castle. Sesshoumaru needed to know everything about the future as possible to be prepared and be one step ahead of everyone else.
Kagome was still talking to Koga unaware that Inuyasha had run off because of her affiliation with the wolf. Inuyasha decided to stand up for himself though and went over to the wolf after Sesshoumaru set him down.
“Koga, you are my friend, but no touching my wife.”
Inuyasha said as he pulled their hands apart pulling Kagome to his side.
“We are just talking Inuyasha.”
Kagome said and Koga frowned since he did know he was pushing things with Inuyasha.
“You were holding hands like old lovers Kagome. You are MY wife and you should be holding my hand not his.”
Inuyasha said and Kagome frowned at Inuyasha.
“We weren’t doing anything wrong. I hold hands with all my friends and hug them.”
Kagome said and Inuyasha turned Kagome to look at him.
“Kagome we aren’t in your time anymore. Such things look bad not only to me, but to others. Just ask Sango if you don’t believe me. She isn’t holding hands with anyone except Miroku. I could handle you holding hands with Sesshoumaru, but not Koga. He is not our mate and he is not your husband. I am your husband unless something has changed?”
Inuyasha asked as he looked in Kagome’s eyes.
“No, you are still my husband Inuyasha. I just did not think it was that big of deal. I care for Koga. I don’t have many friends here at this place and he is a dear friend. He also knows about my type of demon so it helps me deal with this better.”
Kagome said and Inuyasha understood that.
“Well, let us all talk inside. Sesshoumaru needs to know some things so he can make some decisions that may change the course of things for all of us. You know so much about the future Kagome and really you are the smartest one out of us all. We need your advice and perhaps a way to show Sesshoumaru about your world on the other side of the well.”
Inuyasha said since what Sesshoumaru was planning on doing in Japan would change history for humans. Also Kagome being here in this time may cause things like a paradox as she explained this as best she could to Inuyasha on why she did not bring many things from the future with her when she came back to be with him.
Sesshoumaru sat at the head of the table in the dining room and waited patiently for everyone else to sit as this was important and was most likely going to take a lot of time. Sesshoumaru figured he had a pretty good solution to the problem with too many humans existing, but he wanted to hear about certain things Kagome would know about.
Kagome sat and explained she was from the year 2010 AD and what they were actually from the Kamakura period 185-1333 heading to the Azuchi-Momoyama period 1573-1603 in human history. Muskets and cannons were still fairly new, but technology had grown to things like nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction in biological warfare. Kagome figured it was very possible that demons contracted a particular illness that decimated their kind or they had been overrun by humans and were in hiding. There were many possibilities. Fox demons probably would have the easiest time with the change of the world, but so far she had not seen hide nor hair of a demon until she came to this time and this place.
History spoke of demons and there were books on demonology, but nothing like what they experienced since the demons in question were considered unreal or hoaxes. Superstitious nonsense as it were. The jewel of four souls was merely a legend in her time and she recalled seeing the staff Jaken carried in a glass case in a shrine. All magic had pretty much died with the influx of humans and modern technology.
Sesshoumaru looked very concerned. He did not want his people dying out. He did not wish to die out or lose his brother especially to something as insignificant as an illness which he rarely if ever had.
Kagome talked a lot about the bombs that went off in the 1940’s that destroyed much of Japan and had been dropped by Americans to end World War II. Japan had nuclear reactors also that were creating energy for all of Japan. Nuclear power meant possibilities for world domination, but the destructive power destroyed land, destroyed people, animals, and made millions of people ill if not killed them.
Sesshoumaru knew if he could get his hands on some of this nuclear technology he could insure Japan ruled and humans would fear him. These ideas for metal ships that went under water and above it intrigued him. Flying metal creations and moving land vehicles fascinated him.
“The thing that concerns me about telling you all this is that I do not have the exact knowledge to dredge up the plans to protect us from nuclear destruction. I do wish I could keep demons around forever, but I just don’t know if that is possible.’
“We can try to prevent things, send out warnings, but it may cause a paradox in time. If it does we could all cease to exist or I could disappear completely from time with Naraku returning and everything we fought for starting all over again. I would not have met Kaede, Inuyasha would still be pinned to the tree and someone else would take my place with a huge rift in the space time continuum destroying everything and everyone. In all accounts I should not be here, I should be in my time with my family unless this is a wormhole and this is another earth like mine which is very possible. There are many possible answers, but what I do know is in my world in my time I have not sensed nor seen any demons.”
Kagome said and Sesshoumaru seriously worried since he did not want Naraku back, but he did not want to live in a world where there were no demons.
“If only we could reopen the well. I could go see these wonders and find the truth for myself.”
Sesshoumaru said as there was so much he did not know or understand.
“Well the way I came back through the well was with my own desires to be with Inuyasha. Both Inuyasha and I wished for it to be so perhaps the magic is not completely at rest.’
“I mean I want to see my Mom, brother, and Grandpa also especially now that I am pregnant. I guess we could try to go through the well again, but there is no guarantee we will make it to the other side and if we do make it that is there is no guarantee we will be able to come back. So far it has only allowed me and Inuyasha to travel through it so do not get your hopes up Sesshoumaru. I do not wish to see you disappointed.”
Kagome said and Sesshoumaru nodded, but they needed to try. For the sake of his people they needed to go back to this future.
“Sesshoumaru and Kagome. It has been several months since we tried this. I like Kagome worry if it works we will be stuck on the other side. If we are going to try to do this we need to make a plan and stick with it.”
Inuyasha said and Sesshoumaru nodded. They would need to bring gold, jewels, and things to get by on. It was risky, but Sesshoumaru would be damned if he did not get that information he needed.
“We will do this in three days’ time. Until then I will pass my new law. All human males who wish to live will become hanyou in Japan and it will be the same for human women as well as their children. If human women choose to not be hanyous than they will mate with full demons to insure our race does not die out. If this causes war so be it, but I will not lose my people to the human populations if it can be helped.’
“Rin I am sorry my dear, but you will become a hanyou, if Kohaku wishes to live he too will become a hanyou and I will force Lord Kuranosuke Takeda to become a hanyou myself as he owes us his life and you shall be his mate Rin. He has wealth and is honorable. He will take good care of you and be a good man for you. If Kohaku wishes to he can be Lord Takeda’s second mate, but he is not a Lord that I know of and he does not have what you need to survive in these times. Besides not even his sister has seen the boy for months now. We do not know if he is even alive and if he is he owes me his life as well. We will be overrun with hanyous, but that is better than being overrun with humans. Demon kind with thrive and push forward to conquer new lands. I will speak to the human Lords who are below me so that they may understand our concerns.’
“Hiro’s spell will force humans who do not wish for the change during these battles for the changes to occur anyway. All elderly humans will be allowed to remain human. This is my decree. I refuse to have our people die out and I will be damned to have humans take over this world. Pray Kagome that this is what you call a wormhole and we are on a different earth. To be honest with your presence here time would be altered especially with the information you have given us. Your presence here was meant to be and this information you shared with me is meant to make me make these decisions concerning our kind.’
“I don’t believe in this thing you call a paradox otherwise it would have occurred when we defeated Naraku. It would have occurred the second you set foot into our world. You do not belong here, but yet you are here for a reason. That reason is to lead us to change our history. I will find the secrets to this nuclear power and save our people. No god damn human is going to destroy my Empire, I refuse to let that happen as it happened to my Father.’
“In three days’ time we see if the well works, if it does Mother you know what to do in my absence. Make these things happen and Banzan you will lead my armies to do as requested. All this was meant to be.”
Sesshoumaru said as without a doubt in his mind he knew what had to be done. His rule was not going to be a kind one. He ruled by force and by fear. If the humans failed to follow his rules and his law they would perish. Lord Kuranosuke Takeda was under his rule. Tomorrow he would go and have his subjects come to him for the changes to come. Rin would be with Lord Takeda from this point on as a Lady to that castle. She was close enough to the age she would be mated to a human and he was a kind honorable man. Rin would be happy with him and him with her.
“You are gonna piss off a lot of humans Sesshoumaru. There may not be as many in Japan as elsewhere, but I don’t look forward to the wars you are going to start. This could be the way demons do die ya know.”
Inuyasha said and Sesshoumaru nodded, but at least he would go out fighting for his people.
“I would rather face my enemy with a sword in my hand than turn my back and let them destroy us. I will not allow our people to suffer death to humans without a good fight. If illness takes us than so be it, but if it does then it takes the whole damn world. I will rule this world or fight trying to Inuyasha. Humans in Kagome’s history have done it so why not demons? We are smarter, faster, and harder to defeat than humans. You and I have fought multitudes of the undead. A damn legion of dead humans. Live humans are not that much harder to fight. The only thing we are missing is Sounga. If I could go back in time and claim that sword our fighting would be easier. I could have handled that sword. Still I have Bakusaiga and this new ability with Tensaiga. I still may transfer that power over to you Inuyasha, but until then I might as well use it.”
Sesshoumaru said and Inuyasha thought about his sword. It was rather particular about what it would do around humans. A legion of humans was a damn lot of humans.
“Kagome are you good at mathematics?”
Sesshoumaru asked and Kagome shrugged. She was ok with math.
“I am not bad, but that depends on what kind of math you wish for me to do.”
Kagome said and Sesshoumaru was intrigued with knowing different kinds of math although he was not great at it. He knew basic principles like addition and subtraction and how to barter down for things he wished to buy, but if Kagome was as smart as he thought her to be she could easily be his new treasurer or assist with that function.
“I am going to take you to the treasury to meet up with my treasurers Fuyoki and Lin. I want you to find out exactly how much gold I have and start filling enough bags of gold and jewels for our travels. We need enough to survive on if we end up stuck in your time Kagome so this is more important than anything you could be doing. My Mother will take over the Lady’s duties and Banzan you will be ruling temporarily in my place so go with Kagome and make sure the treasurers are not swindling me out of my money. If they have failed in their tasks kill them and we will appoint new treasurers.”
Sesshoumaru said as this was vital to the wellbeing of his people and his own family. Sesshoumaru hoped they would come back, but if not he hoped his Mother would be safe and well cared for.
“What of us? I mean I can help with the treasury Lord Sesshoumaru. I am good at counting money and working figures.”
Miroku said and Sesshoumaru dead panned Miroku.
“You are a thieving monk. I cannot trust you to behave around my gold. If Miroku gets near the treasury cut off his tail Banzan. You are going to be my key however to convince humans they would be better off as hanyous. We do not want a war if possible so your job is to tell them the benefits of this life. You know my hanyou brother well and between you both hanyous will flourish and old prejudices will end with more full demons being born. We will also go to that island again and gather those hanyou children. All hanyou children will come to the castle who do not have parents. Those that do will be able to have their parents live longer. No child will have to watch their parents die an early death if this works.’
“Rin come, we are doing the spell on you now.”
Sesshoumaru said and Shippo followed Rin with a smile. He was happy Rin was going to be a hanyou.
“Yes Lord Sesshoumaru.”
Rin said as she followed Sesshoumaru to the training room where he did the spell and Rin became a little fox hanyou much to Shippo’s joy.
“Rin I can’t wait to teach you all about your powers! Maybe if we are lucky your mate will let me be your second mate since the one they set me up with at the fox school is a mean jerk. I am supposed to be her Alpha, but I don’t like her.”
Shippo said and Rin smiled as she ran off with Shippo at Sesshoumaru’s nod that she could go.
