Disobedient Fur: A Papa/puppy!Sesshoumaru Flashback
Sesshoumaru stomps loudly into his father's chambers, little feet slapping on wood. He is glaring at his shoulder. When he gets to his father's desk, he hops up and points at his fur. "Papa, I demand you tell my fur to do what I say right now. It's very VERY disobedient and I shall not tolerate such disobedienting on my royal body." He sets his jaw and glares at his shoulder again.
Tai does his utmost to not laugh outright at his son and heir's outrage. "Would that I could, Sesshoumaru, but sometimes our furs do what they will when they will."
"But...but...but," he stammers, "but it's MY body not...his." He is still glaring and pointing.
"He is part of your body, my son. What is it that he has done that is so insubordinate?"
Sesshoumaru's eyes light. He likes that word, "insubordinate." "He insubordinated my hand away from my cock when I wanted to touch it, Papa!" He blushes a little alongside his outrage. "That's not fair!"
Tai's eyebrows shoot up and he wuffs slightly. "Really? Did he do something else in place of your hand, perhaps?" Must. Not. Laugh. Out. Loud.
"He TRIED." His eyes narrow and he reaches a hand out to spank his fur then his mouth turns into a pout and tears form. "And I can't even punish him! It's not fair it's not fair!!!!!"
Tai leans back in his chair and pats his lap. "Come, sit on my lap pup, and we will discuss the beauty, and inconvenience that are our pelts, hmm?"
Sesshoumaru's pout gets bigger. Then he sees Papa's fur sneaking up around his bottom. He points, frantically. "No no! Bad bad Papa fur!" And his fur is reaching down to grasp Papa's now! He throws himself, sobbing, into his father's arms.
Calmly Tai lifts him up and cuddles him close, being stern with his fur and shooing it to the back of his chair. There seems to be some communication between the fluffy appendages, and Sesshoumaru's retreats reluctantly and with many hesitations while his fur settles calmly behind him. "Shhh...it's all right, my Sesshoumaru. See? No bad furs right now. They're behaving, and you can tell me why you're so very upset, hmm?" He pats Sesshoumaru's bottom gently but rhythmically, soothingly. His fur whispers behind him.
Sesshoumaru sobs softly for a few moments and calms as Papa soothes him. He sniffles a bit and looks up at Papa's big beautiful face. He doesn't look down and over at his fur at all. He whispers, hoping his fur won't hear. "He made me all ticklish and I didn't wanna be ticklish and he wouldn't stop even when I told him to, Papa. And when I pulled him away it hurt real bad." He doesn't say "It's not fair" again, but he thinks it.
"Ahh. I understand. It is difficult sometimes to make our furs behave when they think all is in good fun, and we don't yet know how to stop them without hurting them and ourselves." He strokes Sesshoumaru's long, silky hair. "We all have 'difficult fur days' my child. You may always come to me, and if I am not here, then your mother is very well versed in calming disobedient furs without harming fur or dog, or pup, hmm?"
He nods, a last tear slipping down his cheek. Papa is making his fur behave now. "I didn't mean to hurt him," he whimpers, lip trembling.
"I know, pup," Tai says softly, turning up the little face to lick away that droplet of sadness. "Your fur knows too."
"Will you pet him, Papa? Tell him I'm sorry?" It's so hard to know whether he feels angry or sad or guilty or afraid...or all of those. But he can still feel the ache in his gut from grabbing his fur away from his prick. There's no pain like it. Papa knows, though, and that makes it better.
"Of course," Tai soothes. There is nothing like the pain of one's pelt, he knows quite well. His own is well-behaved as pelts go because of painful lessons early in his puphood. But he will not frighten his boy with tales of his grandfather. Instead he strokes his claws gently through the soft puppy fur.
Sesshoumaru shudders and looks over as his fur ripples under Papa's claws. He reaches a hand up and places it over his father's, not yet touching the fur himself. But the pelt knows, and soon it's tail circles Sesshoumaru's wrist. Sesshoumaru closes his eyes and rests in Papa's arms.
Tai rumbles and keeps petting, his fur moving and wrapping around his boy's body, but keeping separate from Sesshoumaru's own fur. "Is that better now, my pup?"
He nods into Papa's big chest and shivers at the feel of Papa's hand and Papa's fur. "Is my fur sorry too?" he whimpers.
"Sorry he upset you so, I believe," Tai rumbles with confidence. Their furs no more wished to hurt them than be hurt. But Sesshoumaru's fur is as his son is, young. "Your fur is a part of you, separate and together."
Sesshoumaru nods, not fully understanding but trusting Papa's words and the soft low sound of them. "Thank you for making it better, Papa."
Tai kisses the moon on his boy's forehead. "Papa will always make it better. That's what Papa's do." He ignores his own gut twinge and focuses on Sesshoumaru. He knows well what a Papa should do, most of the time. When he doesn't, that's what Kare is for. "One day, your fur will be magnificent, as you will be when you grow. And youkai from all over will be captivated by your beauty and your fur."
Sesshoumaru giggles a little. He's the one true sun and air and Papa loves him and Mama loves him and he will be Lord with Papa when he grows up, but Papa makes him sound like a queen. "I wanna be tough and big like Papa!"
Tai beeps Sesshoumaru's nose and smiles. "There is only one person in the whole entire world tougher than your Papa, did you know that?"
Sesshoumaru gets big eyes, then he smiles widely. "Mama!"
"You are very smart for a pup so small," Tai says approvingly. "That's right. She's tougher than Papa and more beautiful too. And her beauty makes people think she is not so dangerous as she is."
He giggles. "Mama is the most toxic and most beautiful," he pronounces. "And Papa is the biggest and best." No one has parents as perfect as his. "I love you, Papa." He nuzzles into the big chest again and his fur stays wrapped around his wrist.
"I love you, my One True Son and Heir," Tai says back, smiling and kissing his hair. "You will be big, and strong and beautiful and toxic. The best of your parents."
"And me and Papa will be rulers of the Western Lands together forever." If he is certain of anything in the world, it is of that.
Tai doesn't argue, he merely smiles and rumbles as his pup, comfortable and comforted, rests against his chest.
