Sesshoumaru sent out word to simply change the humans to hanyou even without their permission. He did not have time to dally with this. It was vital his plan went into action now. They had one more day until they would try to travel through the well so Sesshoumaru traveled with his army to the human villages in his territories and left them all with liaisons to train them in their new powers.
Miroku was being trained by Inuyasha who had some similar powers to himself. Koga was sent to Lord Kuranosuke Takeda to train the wolf hanyous with their powers and Shippo trained the fox hanyous, but spent most of his time with Rin playing in the gardens or tormenting the servants with his silly fox tricks since he and Rin were both still so young.
Banzan stayed with Kagome who was about half way done with counting out the gold. She was going as fast as she could and had set aside six large full bags of gold and two bags of jewels, trinkets, and pearls that would be worth a fortune for their journey to the other side of the well. Kagome worked tirelessly as they only stopped counting for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and to sleep. What they had in gold in those six bags was at least worth a few million dollars not to mention the diamonds, rubies, and emeralds as well as Jade pieces that she put in the bags. She put one very large elegantly cut diamond into the bag that alone had to be worth a few million dollars as diamonds were worth a fortune in her time.
It was too bad Inuyasha could not perform the adamant barrage in her time since that would make them even more money. Magic was limited in her time to parlor tricks and illusions that were human created.
On the third day Sesshoumaru set up arrangements with his soldiers and wrote up a contract with Banzan who with Miroku and Sango would be watching over his castle with his Mother. It was time to go see if they could make the well work again.
Sesshoumaru had Aun fly with him as they packed as much as they could carry and flew to the well where all three stood looking deep inside. Sesshoumaru merely saw bones at the bottom of the well, but Inuyasha and Kagome saw the little bit of magic left.
“Sesshoumaru you have to wish hard to want to go with us for this to work. You are seeing things as they are and not as you wish them to be. Imagine a vortex that will take you to Kagome’s home and you should see it.”
Inuyasha said as Sesshoumaru frowned and concentrated harder. He needed to see this other place and time so he imagined a vortex and soon he saw what his mate and Kagome saw. It was not as strong of magic as it was before and Kagome was a bit nervous. What if they never made it back? That would be terrible.
“Well let’s do this before it is too late. Everyone hold hands and jump in.”
Kagome said as the three held each other’s hands and jumped into the vortex as it took them through time and space to the other side. When they got to the other side of the well they smelled the strange scents of the future time.
“Ok we are here. Let us climb up and out to go see my family.”
Kagome said as she started to climb only for Sesshoumaru to grasp her and Inuyasha about the waist to lift them out.
“What are all those strange smells?”
Sesshoumaru asked and Inuyasha recognized one smell and that was of Souta Kagome’s brother. He was close by.
“It is the smells of the future. Those things called cars and of humans.”
Inuyasha said and Kagome had to admit that she did not much care for this scent of humans. Stepping out of the well house Kagome and Inuyasha saw Souta who was on a cell phone calling his girlfriend. His back was turned to them and he seemed oblivious to his surroundings.
“Hey Souta!”
Inuyasha said and Souta turned around smiling as he saw Inuyasha and told his girlfriend he would call her back.
“Hi Inuyasha! It is good to see you! Is that you Kagome? Wow you changed a lot! Is this some kind of thing that happens when you two got married?”
Souta said and Kagome smiled as she explained things to Souta who took everyone inside. Souta explained that Kagome’s Mom was at the hospital with Grandpa, he was not doing well, but the doctors were doing what they could for him. Inuyasha noted how tall Souta had become and he was certainly a handsome young man. It seemed like forever since Inuyasha had been here.
“Souta is my room still available or did Mama turn it into something else?”
Kagome asked and Souta smiled.
“She hasn’t had time to convert it into anything so all your stuff is still there.”
Souta said so happy his sister and her husband and their brother was here. Sesshoumaru was a bit scary to Souta but he thought if he was Inuyasha’s brother he had to be cool.
“I am going to introduce Sesshoumaru to the computer so he can learn more about this time. There is much to learn and that is why we are here. I don’t know if the well will let us go back, but we brought gold, jewels, and other things to sell just in case we are stuck here.”
Kagome said and Souta nodded as he dragged Inuyasha away with him.
“Come on Inuyasha I have to show you this cool thing called video games. You will love it. Just be careful with the controller since they can break.”
Souta said and Inuyasha went with Souta.
“Kagome I want to take a tour of your home. I want to see everything first and then you may show me this knowledge on a computer whatever that is.”
Sesshoumaru said as he looked at the home in fascination.
Kagome showed him the kitchen with the box full of food that kept it cold and then the sink as she showed him the hot and cold water which he had to turn on a few times to figure out how that worked. It was wondrous.
While Sesshoumaru looked at everything he felt very small in this big place as Kagome said she would take Sesshoumaru for a walk to see the city and have Souta help her with shopping since right now they had no money for things.
Sesshoumaru was fascinated by the stove, the fridge, and these phone things that could contact people from far away. Everything was fascinating and wonderful. Sesshoumaru wanted all these things badly.
“I like all of this except for the smells. It smells strange here. I don’t like it.”
Sesshoumaru said as his nose was very sensitive.
“I agree the smells are unpleasant, but the conveniences are nice. When my Mom comes home we will probably get the chance to go for a ride in a car which you really will enjoy. Inuyasha loved car rides.”
Kagome said and Sesshoumaru nodded.
“Show me this computer thing Kagome. I also wish to purchase books so we can possibly take them back with us. I want to show people these things we are seeing. I want our people to advance with this technology.”
Sesshoumaru said and Kagome took Sesshoumaru to her room and had him sit as she started up her computer and showed him how the internet worked as well as how to look up things. Sesshoumaru wanted to look up history of Japan first and find out as much as he could about their culture. Kagome knew Sesshoumaru would spend hours on the computer so she went downstairs to see what her brother and Inuyasha were doing.
After a few hours passed Kagome’s Mom came home with Kagome rushing to her Mom giving her a hug as tears of joy were falling down her cheeks.
“Mama I am so happy to see you!”
Kagome gushed as she never thought she would see her Mom again.
“Oh Kagome I am so happy you are home. Is Inuyasha with you?”
Kagome’s Mom said and Kagome nodded her head yes as she showed her Mom that Inuyasha was playing games with Souta.
“Mama we also brought Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha’s brother. He is the Lord of the Western lands and wanted to learn all he could while here. We are not sure we can go back through the well so we brought gold, jewels, and things of value to try to live here in this time if we must.”
Kagome said and Ms. Higurashi nodded as she could help them with that since she knew of appraisers and antique dealers who would most likely pay a fortune for any artifacts from the Feudal Era.
“Kagome I do have bad news. Your Grandpa is very ill and needs surgery. He will not be with us much longer. I know he would want to see you, but I’m afraid he won’t be with us long. His heart is not doing well and the doctors give him only a few more weeks to live.’
“I’ve also met someone. A Mr. Kagewaki Hitomi who is really nice. He offered to help me with the shrine and Souta really likes him. He is a bit younger than me, but with your Grandfather being ill I need the assistance.”
Ms. Higurashi said to her daughter and Kagome was indeed happy for her Mother but that name seemed familiar and made Kagome worry. Still Kagome would be nice and give this man a chance.
Inuyasha was having a great time, but was going to go check on his brother soon. When Inuyasha got done with the game Inuyasha went to the bedroom where Sesshoumaru was sitting reading everything there was to know about Japan’s history. He was very disappointed and found that Japan after the war allowed Americans to have bases on the islands of their home. It seemed American’s influences had spread far and wide.
Sesshoumaru found hundreds of documents concerning human history, but nothing for demons. He wanted to weep at this if this was the future. Somehow he had to prevent this.
“Inuyasha I must know everything there is to know about this nuclear age. I must know how to prevent our kind from dying out. There is so much history on humans, but nothing on our kind. If this is the future I hate to see what is going to be left of us when this world is done if there is any of us left. I need to see more of this world.”
Sesshoumaru said and Inuyasha frowned as he worried for their future as well.
“Ok. Well Ms. Higurashi is home so maybe we can go for a drive so you can see Tokyo where Kagome lives. It is a big city.”
Inuyasha said and Sesshoumaru needed to get out and breathe a bit. Going downstairs Sesshoumaru was introduced to Kagome’s Mother Kimi Higurashi.
“I don’t have a problem taking you around town, but we really should wait for Kagewaki to arrive first. I invited him over for dinner.”
Kimi Higurashi said and Sesshoumaru figured he could wait as he went outside to go wander the shrine area. He needed to walk a bit and try and breathe even though the air quality was less than wonderful.
Kagewaki Hitomi’s car arrived at the house. It was a fancy car from a man who was fairly wealthy and as he reached the top step of the shrine Sesshoumaru’s eyes narrowed at the man with the short black hair and brown eyes.
“Naraku………”
Sesshoumaru growled as he confronted the man who looked at the demon in shock.
“Sesshoumaru Tashio? What are you doing here and why are you dressed like that?”
Kagewaki asked as he backed away from the obviously angry diayoukai.
“Why are you alive Naraku? I ended your pathetic life and if my demons are dead because of you then you shall die!”
Sesshoumaru snarled out. Suddenly a man who was Sesshoumaru’s spitting image came forward wearing a business suit and walked up to Sesshoumaru so quickly he disarmed the diayoukai in a mere blink.
“Sesshoumaru there is much to discuss and explain. Kagewaki Hitomi is my subordinate and he is not your enemy. Naraku is dead, Kagewaki is one of the last few true hanyou’s left in this world. I cannot let you kill him. He is a dear friend to our mate Inuyasha. Our mate will join us soon he knew this day would come.”
The future Sesshoumaru said and the past Sesshoumaru frowned, but waited for the truth to be told. It seemed things were worse than he imagined them to be.
“Sess I’m here. You know that spell on my ears is a pain in the ass. Hey where is my past self?”
The future Inuyasha asked as he stood looking beautiful with his long silver hair flowing and he smelled pregnant.
“You are with pup?”
Past Sesshoumaru asked as he regarded his mate from the future who was wearing something strange. It was jeans and a t shirt with socks and tennis shoes.
“Yep. It will be our hundredth kid I swear. Your future self is just as bad as your past self not being able to keep your damn hands off me.”
Inuyasha said with a chuckle as future Sesshoumaru put an arm around his beautiful mate and kissed him.
“What about Kagome, Sango, and Miroku?”
Past Sesshoumaru asked and future Inuyasha looked down in sadness.
“That spell was only temporary to turn them into hanyous. They are all dead, but our children did live on. Kagewaki Hitomi is actually one of our spider demon allies’ sons. He is the spitting image of Naraku, but he is not Naraku. Kagewaki is one of my best friends and he’s cool. After Kagome died we found we needed friends and although the world is full of humans we adapted.’
“Koga is still around too. He and his wife Ayame will be coming to see you also. But you have to go back. You are going to change history and you will know of nuclear power, but you will end up leaving Japan for a while when that happens.’
“All the demons left went into hiding temporarily in America. The American demons taught us the spells we needed to survive. Humans had no idea we were Japanese as Kagome taught us all English.”
Future Inuyasha said and past Sesshoumaru felt ill. His kind went into hiding? Were they cowards?
“Sesshoumaru as your future self I know what you are feeling. I despised having to go into hiding, but after seeing the multitudes of humans after the spells failed we would truly have died if we tried to fight all of them.’
“You also left Japan for a time because of the fact the humans were trying to rule as a Master race and like ants you cannot kill them all. I tried and eventually I came to terms with our fates. Inuyasha was right and humans lost their fear of us.’
“I still loathe humans, but we survive and with Kagome’s knowledge we become rich. Our lives are better because of her. My weapons facility, nuclear power facilities, and drug companies have made us billionaires. We rule as far as money goes. Our homes are everywhere. Slowly I am building back my empire. I already own more land than ever before. Our kind is thriving, but like assassins we blend in and our kind has learned to hide in the masses and take what is ours.’
“Our children are rich, educated, and happy. My heir is also on his way here, your first born child Shiro Tashio helps me run our companies.’
“Now I shall send Inuyasha in first to get your Inuyasha. It has been a long time for me to see the boy who has become my whole world.”
Future Sesshoumaru said as he waited for the others to arrive.
Koga’s little red sports car pulled in with Ayame bitching at her husband to slow the fuck down, but Koga wanted to see Kagome again. This would be the last time he saw her before she died.
Future Inuyasha was arguing with past Inuyasha that Kagewaki Hitomi was not Naraku reborn as past Inuyasha wanted to kick Kagewaki’s ass. Kagome was also growling as she believed when she saw the man that this was Naraku who wanted to date her Mother. Kagome was against that. Souta did not even know who Naraku was and he liked Kagewaki. Kagewaki was cool and Mom was in love with the guy who had been so nice and helpful with the shrine.
Kagome explained to her Mother and brother about Naraku and what he had done to so many people. Kimi did not believe that Kagewaki was this same Naraku character. He was very nice and being part miko herself she did not feel an evil aura from the man. Kagewaki had been nothing except nice to them. Finally Future Inuyasha picked up past Inuyasha throwing him over his shoulder and taking him outside after swiping his tessaiga from him. Kagome followed ready to purify this asshole if he came near her family.
Koga rushed up the steps with Ayame following with a big pout on her lips. She did not want to deal with Kagome again.
“Ayame stop being a jealous pain in the ass. You knew before I met ya that I loved her, that isn’t new news and besides she is going back with Inuyasha.”
Koga said angrily since Ayame was not going to ruin this for him. He had waited a long time to see Kagome again.
Kagewaki smiled at Kimi and waved at Souta who rushed past Kagome to hug him.
“Hi Kagewaki! I am so glad you are here! Thanks loads for the new game it totally rocks!”
Souta said and Kimi Kagome’s Mom much to Kagome’s frustration moved past her daughter and kissed Kagewaki on the lips as he put an arm around her.
“I figure you are the famous daughter that Kimi has told me all about. You are as lovely as your Mother.”
Kagewaki said politely as Kagome sent a purifying bolt through him when she shook his hand. Kagewaki just smiled and kissed her hand.
“Set me down ya asshole! I swear when I get free I will kick your ass!”
Past Inuyasha roared as he was whacked in the ass by his future self.
“Settle down puppy and set him down Inuyasha.”
Future Sesshoumaru growled.
“Geeze ya’ll gotta manhandle me! I ain’t a fucking bitch!”
Past Inuyasha said angrily as he grasped his sword back and went to stand by his mate pulling Kagome away from the bastard who looked so much like Naraku. Luckily he did not smell like him and there were a few differences although he still did not trust the spider hanyou.
“Shall we all go to dinner and talk? I mean all of you will only be staying a few days before you will go back and the well will close for good.”
Future Sesshoumaru said and past Sesshoumaru nodded. He wished to see this city.
“I shall call my limousine service and we shall travel that way. Perhaps though we can get a change of clothing for these folks.”
Kagewaki said as he flipped out his cell phone to call the limousine.
“Kagome your clothing is still in your room. You may change into something you like, maybe that pretty blue slip dress with the jacket and your heels.”
Kimi said as she did love the kimono Kagome was wearing, but it was too formal for what they were doing.
“Sess, I’ll take Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru to our place. There they can change although you did grow another inch and a half so your pants will be a bit shorter on your other half. I don’t know why fate had it in for me to be so fucking short.”
Future Inuyasha said bitterly as he bid the two men to follow him to his car. Past Inuyasha had to admit he liked future Inuyasha’s style of vehicle. It was also a convertible so he put the top down so the wind would blow in their hair.
“This is a modern vehicle?”
Past Sesshoumaru asked and Future Inuyasha smirked.
“This is my baby. Sess bought this for me along with a bunch more cars. This one is a classic though. It is a custom BMW with all leather seats and she is a fast little car. I have others that are a two seater, but we need a new family vehicle soon. Tonight you two will meet Shiro your heir. He is dying to see all of you.’
“Sess doesn’t own very many casual clothing and what we are all supposed to wear today is formal wear so I know he is kind of pissed I did not dress up, but hell I just came from my friend’s house who needed help with his car and it gave me the excuse to get my claws on an old hemi engine. There is nothing like hearing a hemi purring under the hood of a car.’
“We also have a bag for ya both full of things you will want and some you can create. Inuyasha you will be creating a lifetime supply of tooth brushes for your mates with horse hair and wood. As the future arrives you will be able to do a lot more and get more.’
“Sesshoumaru you will be collecting your gold like crazy. We are giving you the barrier spell to keep the castle from humans, but eventually all of you will leave Japan to see the world. We are sending you with books and enough information to insure you survive and that you will also always be filthy rich. Trust me money is power and you will need your money.”
Future Inuyasha said as he was going to change also into something formal.
“What happens to Sesshoumaru’s Mom, Banzan, and the others?”
Past Inuyasha asked and future Inuyasha sighed.
“Mom is still around she lives with us, but travels often. She has a boyfriend you will meet. His name is Hachi and he is a white wolf demon. He is trying to get Mom to move in with him which I wish to God she would. Sess is unsure since he is protective of his Mom, but Mom is a big girl and can care for herself as she tries to remind him. Mom sells and buys properties for fun. Sess says she doesn’t need to work since he is old fashioned, but Mom gets bored and then bugs the hell out of me.’
“I am on my I swear five thousandth year of college. Sess wants me to learn more and I do our accounting, but since I am with pup Banzan is in charge of accounting for now. Sess wants to keep me as an at home Dad, but I do stuff like hang with friends and I have an online website that I run writing stories and I draw for a big Animation company as well as write graphic novels. I have quite a large following so I keep myself busy.’
“Sess runs three big corporations, but always makes time for me especially now. We have had breaks in between births, but since he birthed most of our kids until my three hundredth birth year I agreed when I went into heat I would bare the rest of them. I really don’t mind as I love all our kids. We have so many now it is hard to keep up with them all.’
“We also own part of a hospital wing so that when a demon male gives birth there are demon doctors for them. It was Banzan’s idea and I was grateful for that since Sess has had to help me through most of the births. He is always there when our kids are born.’
“After losing Kagome, Sango, Miroku, and Rin things just haven’t been the same for us. I miss all of them all the time. The hanyou spell only lasted for about a hundred years before everyone reverted back except those humans who mated with demons.’
“Banzan never got over Sango and Miroku’s death. He loved them both and mated them with his mate Lalune who he mated mainly just for Sango to have another female. Banzan truly loved Miroku the most and he still has the portrait of him in his home on the main part of his wall. He prays daily for them to be reborn although he did have two children through Sango. Miroku never bore fruit.’
“I lost Kagome soon after Sango and Miroku perished. Even Sess had a hard time dealing with that. Kagome touched our lives and without her we would not have what we have now. Sess does not even let me talk about Rin. When she died Sess went into a deep depression. You went into one too Inu.’
“You did however with the spells extend the lives of humans. That part is true. Now humans live longer which is good in some ways since we make a fortune off of them. Because of Kagome you will invent things like the toothbrush, straws, and other things that seem like nothing now but will make you a ton of money in the future. Everything you know will benefit you. Spend as much time with Kagome as possible both of you since she is smart and she will change things for the better for you both.’
“In some ways I wish all of you could stay with us. It is kind of cool having past me around and I forgot how absolutely hot you were Sess when you were younger. Now you have two very small wrinkles at your eyes and your body is much harder than it was.’
“Not that you are bad looking now. God you still look like you are only 19 years old and me I unfortunately get IDed everywhere. Most of the time Sess has to buy the booze, but can’t drink now that I am pregnant. I also crave chocolate and shellfish. I am allergic to too much chocolate, but I still sneak donuts when Sess isn’t looking. I always get caught even though I try to sneak, but it is our game.”
Future Inuyasha said as it was going to be totally weird to see Kagome again. He still loved her, but he had gotten over her death eventually. It was a fact humans die and he knew that possibility.
“What about my pups with Kagome?”
Past Inuyasha asked and future Inuyasha smiled.
“Well you only had one pup with her. After that she was barren. The healer said it was because the pup scratched up her organs on the inside and she never healed from that. However Akio will only be able to call you and talk to you from where he is. He is overseas working on the oil fields as a geologist. Oil is another way you get rich. Remember oil is like gold and I’m talking about the black smelly stuff not the otter or oils you use for your hair and other things.’
“Akio is a good boy and Sess loves him as much as I do. He may not be the heir to the throne, but he is smart like his Mom and is a natural healer also. He is actually mated to Shiro since he was such a strong hanyou. They also had pups making us old. You are a grandfather many times over Inu. I also got a wrinkle which sucks, but it only shows on my human night. Father’s blood kept my human half from aging other than that wrinkle. Sess thinks it is cute. Ya I’ll show him cute.”
Future Inuyasha said as they pulled up to a huge building and Inuyasha punched in the gate code.
“Wow, is this all ours?”
Past Inuyasha asked as he looked at the beautiful buildings that seemed to go on for miles.
“Yep. We own all of this, but we share it with the guards, our kids, and Mom. Just wait until you see the garage.”
Future Inuyasha said with a smile as they pulled into the lot.
