Chapter 45: Balance Restored

A/N: Amaiya moves to the Northern lands with Koharu. She sends word to her family that she and Koharu have successfully created an heir to their throne. This is the final chapter of the story! Enjoy!
Amaiya had moved into the palace of the Northern lands with Koharu, where they had taken their place as the lord and lady of the Northern lands. Sesshomaru was still reigning over the Western lands with Rin by his side as Lady of the Western lands. Their twins Kohana and Kiyoshi had reached the proper age to select a mate. Kohana had been courted by Hiten, the only surviving brother of the lengendary Thunder Brothers and had moved back to his large black stone palace in the Southern lands. Kiyoshi had decided to court a beautiful fox demoness by the name of Kiara. They were soon mated as well. Inuyasha and Kagome�s second child Tanmaru, had also come of age to find a mate. He had fallen in love with a demoness who had the power to control the elements. She was breathtakingly beautiful and her name was Narissa. The two had mated and moved away to Narissa�s kingdom just outside the Western lands.
Now only Sesshomaru�s son Denmaru, and Inuyasha�s daughter Nyssa remained at the white stone palace. At Koharu and Amaiya�s palace everyone was bustling about with the news of Amaiya�s pregnancy. Amaiya had summoned her servant Yuna to deliver news of her pregnancy to her family back in the Western lands. She had written a letter to them for it was far too risky to travel in her condition. The letter read:

�Dearest Family,

Forgive me for not coming to visit but things have been most hectic as a newly titled Lady of the Northern lands. All is going well here. I hope that everyone is doing well back home. I�m sure you�re wondering why I have sent you this letter instead of simply coming to visit you. Recently it was discovered that I am in fact with pup, so it is not safe for me to travel right now. Koharu and I have successfully created an heir! Perhaps you could all come here to the Northern lands to visit? I miss you all terribly but I am quite happy here with Koharu. Well expecting a pup makes one feel quite exhausted so I am going to retire to my chambers to rest. I hope to see you all very soon and I love you all very much!

Lady Amaiya�

�Yuna, please take this scroll and deliver it to my family in the Western lands.�
�Yes, at once milady.� Amaiya handed the sealed scroll to Yuna and watched as she immediately headed out towards Lord Sesshomaru�s palace. Yuna traveled quickly and soon made it to the Western lands. The large white stone palace loomed on the horizon before her. She hurried up to the palace and was quickly stopped by the guards at the front gate.
�Halt! Who are you wench?�
�My name is Yuna.�
�What business do you have here?�
�I was sent by Lady Amaiya of the Northern lands to deliver this scroll to her family.� The guards stepped aside to allow Yuna to walk inside the gates. She walked into the palace�s large foyer. Yuna was immediately grabbed from behind by a pair of strong hands.
�Who the hell are you wench and what are you doing in my home?�
�M-my n-name is Y-yuna! L-lady Amaiya sent me!� Upon hearing Amaiya�s name the pair of strong hands released her. She turned to see the very handsome Lord Sesshomaru.
�Why have you been sent? Where is my niece?�
�She is home in the Northern lands my lord. Lady Amaiya wished for me to deliver this scroll to her family.� Sesshomaru took the scroll and quickly read it. He broke into a small grin upon learning of his niece�s pregnancy.
�I�m sorry for being so hostile with you Yuna.�
�It�s okay my lord, you knew not that I was sent here by Lady Amaiya.�
�Thank you for bringing us news of Amaiya�s pregnancy.�
�Hai my lord.� Yuna bowed and was escorted out of the palace to head back to the Northern lands. Sesshomaru summoned Rin, Kagome, Inuyasha, Denmaru, and Nyssa all to the great dining hall.
�I�m sure you�re all wondering why you�ve all been summoned?� They all nodded and he held up the scroll. �I have received news from Amaiya.� Kagome spoke up first.
�Is she okay?�
�She�s fine Kagome, here read the scroll and see for yourself.� She took the scroll from him and read it quickly.
�Oh my God, Amaiya�s pregnant!� Inuyasha�s ears instantly perked up.
�What did you just say?�
�Inuyasha, our baby girl is having a baby!�
�Oh great.� Rin spoke up.
�That�s wonderful Kagome, congratulations!�
�Thank you Rin.� Sesshomaru then spoke up.
�Amaiya wishes for us to all come visit her in the Northern lands. So let us prepare for the journey.� Everyone left the great dining hall to pack for the journey. Inuyasha�s mind was reeling with the news of his daughter�s pregnancy, but he didn�t dare express his feelings out loud.
�Wow, my little Amaiya is expecting a pup! Now that really makes me feel old! I can�t believe that she�s grown up so much!� Kagome nudged her mate.
�What are you thinking Inuyasha?�
�Oh nothing really. I think I�m going to visit father�s tomb before we leave for the Northern lands.�
�Do you want me to come with you?� He shook his head and then left to go to his father�s tomb. Arriving at Lord Inutaisho�s tomb Inuyasha knelt down quickly.
�Hello father, sorry it�s been a while since I last came to visit. Well Amaiya is mated to Koharu and now they�re expecting a pup. We�re going to see her, the whole family. Both of Sesshomaru�s twins are mated. Kohana mated with Hiten and Kiyoshi mated with a fox demoness named Kiara. My son Tanmaru mated with a demoness that has the power to manipulate the weather. Her name is Narissa. Now only our daughter Nyssa and Sesshomaru�s son Denmaru are left to find mates when they come of age of course. I really wish that you were still here old man. Peace has finally been restored to the lands now that Naraku has been killed. Maybe I�ll talk to Kagome about using the Shikon jewel to revive you. It would be really great to have you here again. Well father, I suppose it�s time for me to head back to the palace. Don�t worry, I�ll talk to Kagome right away. I love you father.�
A gentle breeze blew as Inuyasha stood and headed back towards the palace. He turned back and faced his father�s tomb one last time. Yes things had truly returned to their proper order. Life would finally just be peaceful and there was no longer any lurking danger that was looming over them. All was as it was intended to be and once Inuyasha�s father was revived total balance would be restored to the Western lands.
