Sesshoumaru didn’t care if the other prisoners rotted in their cells, but damnit he was going to remove the smell. The servants were forced to bathe the timid prisoners since some of the stench was coming from them. Sesshoumaru was surprised that any could walk with how thin they were and asked his guards about his prisoner’s health.

Ken was shocked at the changes in Sesshoumaru. Normally the boy wouldn’t lift a finger to help anyone other than himself and especially not prisoners. Sesshoumaru also asked about what crimes they committed and if they had seen any visitors while he used the mop like a weapon to scrub the filth off the floors.

Really Sesshoumaru was just trying to pass the time and could care less about these people, except when two little girls were brought forward.

“Why are these children in my dungeon?”

Sesshoumaru asked seething mad. One reminded him of Rin. She was mute and was in rags.

“They are thieves my Lord. They stole bread from one of your caravans. You said all thieves were to be brought down here for a month and if the crime was repeated to remove their thieving hands. These girls are second offenders. They are to have their hands removed………”

The guard said and Sesshoumaru stopped him feeling like he was ready to throw up.

“They are children. Starving children. We do not imprison starving children, we feed them is that understood? From this day forth there will be no starving children in this kingdom.”

Sesshoumaru said and he bent down to the one who didn’t speak.

“Have these children washed and give them clean clothing and food.”

Sesshoumaru did something with his hands and the girl smiled responding with hers.

Mother watched this exchange in awe.

“You understand her?”

Mother asked.

“Rin was mute when I met her. She talked with gestures much like this child. It is rather simple.”

Sesshoumaru said as he patted the child on her head.

The older girl watched as the mute child hugged Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru just gently pat the girl on the hair again and sent her on her way.

Ken and the rest of his Uncles were in shock. Sesshoumaru was kind to children? Human children as these were?

Sesshoumaru had all the old hay taken out as fresh bales were brought in and food as well as drink was brought in. Now that it did not smell bad he could at least drink.

“Depending on what happens to me Mother, I want these cells to have windows so that we can get some air flowing down here and some drains for the rain. It would be nice to see the sky.”

Sesshoumaru said.

“There also is more adamant. I wasn’t going to tell you this right away, but Inuyasha has given me the location of where there is enough adamant for us to live comfortably for many years. There is even enough for you my Uncles if you fetch it for my Mother. You must give thanks to Inuyasha for this gift though, it is not my own. I just know he would want things this way.”

Sesshoumaru said and his Uncles stood confused.

“What is adamant?”

Uncle Ken asked.

“Diamonds, brother. Huge diamonds the size of yourself.”

Louna stated.

Uncle Ken’s eyes lit up.

“Real diamonds? But how did they get so big?”

Ken asked.

“It is a technique of the tessaiga. We don’t know if there will be more. Also my tensaiga should be used to gather the ones from Father’s grave. That is where the last of Hosenki is located. You can only get there one way and I shall tell you the path. It can only be reached by one who holds the tensaiga.”

Sesshoumaru said as he explained how to get there and that only perhaps two of them could go at a time with one touching the person with tensaiga since the others would be turned to stone. That was the curse and gift of this location.

Lin and the others realized with the amounts of diamonds Sesshoumaru was talking about they could be set for life if they did things properly.

“Sesshoumaru you talk as though you are going to die.”

Ken said in frustration.

“I have people who are plotting against me as we speak. Lord Hakimura of the South and Lord Baru of the East would truly love to see me dead. Lord Hakimura made that statement to me as a child and I never forgot it after I refused to kiss his cheek. He could never sway me to care about him and he called me cold. It was Lord Hakimura who named me the ice Prince.’
“Lord Hakimura I may not be able to defeat, but Lord Baru is an easy kill. Too easy and people would be pleased to see him go. I just do not wish to take on the problems of the East at this time.”

Sesshoumaru said.

Ken and Lin growled.

“They would both have to go through us before anyone could get to you. You will be under our watch during this whole event.”

Ken said and the others nodded.

“There are ways to kill a demon Lord with a simple word. I know that word and I cannot be revived by tensaiga again. It only saves a life one time. I only hope Lord Hakimura does not know it. He is a scholar though and quite knowledgeable. As I said I am more concerned about Hakimura then Baru. Baru is a fat little maggot and one day he will be squashed under my boot. His daughter is a bucktoothed eyesore who will never mate without it being forced upon the poor man who will mate with her. I plan to eradicate both daughter and Father at some point, but not when I just finished a war with the wolves.”

Sesshoumaru said hating to admit to that war since it was stupid. It wasn’t even a good battle, it had been too easy to defeat and kill Kouga.

“You fought with our main allies? Are you daft?”

Lin said in frustration. He loved the wolves, they were his biggest supporters and Kouga was one of his favorites. He helped name that boy.

“They took what was mine and were holding her against her will. Pearl came with me willingly. They are crude and do not know their place. It was obvious when Kouga opened his mouth at the mating ceremony that they cannot be trusted.”

Sesshoumaru said angrily.

“You cannot be angry at Kouga for defending his friend son. If you had friends you would understand this.”

Mother stated plainly.

“Yes, you always did have a time making friends. My boys all thought you to be the devil himself they were terrified of you.”

Ken said in frustration.

“My boys too.”

Lin said and the other three men raised their hands. They all tried to befriend their nephew with their sons. None of them had any daughters so they had hoped Sesshoumaru would at least make one of their children a friend.

“I am not the devil. The devil has a personality.”

Sesshoumaru said with a smirk as he wrung out the mop to mop another area.

At that his Uncles did laugh. Sesshoumaru it seemed did have a sense of humor.

“Oh, give Kouga a chance. He just cares about Inuyasha. I am sure he meant well.”

Mother said since she too liked Kouga.

“Kouga is a crude young brat that needs a good spanking. Both he and Inuyasha are ridiculously rude and crass. When you get them together it is like I am the one who doesn’t belong as Inuyasha’s brother. They are related and do not even carry the same genetic makeup.”

Sesshoumaru said in irritation.

“Do I detect a hint of jealousy?”

Ken said with a smirk.

“No! Do not be ridiculous. Inuyasha is my problem and Kouga is not. What they do together is not my concern. What comes out of their mouths around others is. Neither of them are good at negotiations and neither one thinks with their head in battle. I will admit Kouga is more of a thinker then Inuyasha, but the boy is still daft. They are as dumb as a sack of hammers when you get them together and it is only amusing for so long before you have to pull them apart to put them both in separate corners of a room.’
“I invited Kouga and his kin to come by for Inuyasha’s sake at Inuyasha’s request. The two could not sit in a room for five minutes without cursing then Inuyasha attacked Kouga and two of Mother’s prize vases paid the price for their involvement with one another.’
“This is the second time Kouga has tried to get Inuyasha to move into his filthy caves with him. He doesn’t want to mate with him either. Kouga wants to have idiotic times with his idiotic friend. When I told Inuyasha no he went off on me about how he was an adult who could do whatever he wanted, but he did not want to live with Kouga because the ‘wolf turd’ as he calls him would never stop calling him ‘mutt face’ rather than by his given name. These are normal conversations with my brother and Kouga. I do not know how a sane person can keep up with their nonsense and I will not put up with both of them together.’
“I will put up with Inuyasha because I love him. The wolf can find someone else to love him since it will not be me and if he ever breaks another vase I am sending him to my Mother so he can get his ear yelled into as well as pinched.”

Sesshoumaru said with his Uncles and Mother chuckling at this. It was obvious Sesshoumaru did not understand friendships between males.

“Admit it, you like Kouga.”

Lin said with a smirk.

“I tolerate Kouga. Right now I would love to strangle him slowly over and over again. He does not know when to shut his mouth. I am sure he is adding things onto the things I did to my brother just to be evil to me. Kouga hates me and that is fine with me. I find his stench repugnant and I will never bite him again if it can be helped. It took days to wash out that taste in my mouth.”

Sesshoumaru said in frustration. He did not like the wolf. He wanted to kill Kouga right now. Sesshoumaru wanted that wolf six feet under with added dirt to make sure he never got out of his grave. He would even put rocks upon it to insure Kouga never came out. Right now Sesshoumaru wished he never revived the little bastard.

“So this war you had with the wolves, how long did it last?”

Lin asked.

“One day. One day was enough to kill off almost all of them in the Northern dens.”

Sesshoumaru said.

“But they are thriving. I saw Kouga’s tribe last week.”

Lin said.

“I brought them back to life with Tensaiga. It was an agreement. I got my men back and they got theirs. The treaty is still intact while I live. Unbeknownst to Kouga if I do die so does the treaty which means the East and South may attack them. They are not fortified enough to withstand another attack.”

Sesshoumaru said.

“Are you going to tell them this?”

Lin asked.

Sesshoumaru smiled.

“No, I am not.”

Sesshoumaru said feeling a little bit better. Kouga thought he got one up on him, well the wolf was stupid. Kouga was going into a giant trap and Sesshoumaru was going to let him fall.

“You know that could be against the treaty.”

Lin said.

“Really, well I guess he should have used his brain then before opening his mouth. I am a prisoner now and I have no authority. If his people get attacked or he is attacked there is nothing I can do to assist. There is currently nothing I want to do to assist.’
“He can beg and he can cry. I really do not give a damn. It will be a loss to the West, but I am not currently ruling the West. Mother is and you will find that my troops are loyal to me for a reason. I may be a mean bastard at times, but I am also a skilled tactician and the son of a General. I am the General and without me the troops simply remain where they are until a new General is appointed.”

Sesshoumaru said with a shrug.

“Why don’t you appoint one of us as your General?”

Ken said since he was also a skilled tactician.

“Are you going to retrain them? In a few days can you have them battle ready? Actually in less time than that since I can almost guarantee that the Eastern Lord is starting a movement this direction since I am out of the picture right now. He is stupid, he is fat, and he thinks he can defeat anyone. He has a pretty good sized army, but well trained men? No he doesn’t have that. I am not moving my men into a territory that may be attacked when this one will most likely be attacked.’
“Kouga’s concern is the South. The Southern Lord is closer to the Northern wolf tribe. As long as he keeps favor with the South he will be fine, but the second he goes against them they will slaughter him and his people. Lord Hakimura does have well trained men and yes he is a threat. However he will take out the easiest target first. The North. Then he will wait patiently for the fat Lord of the East to decimate as many of our troops as possible. Then he will attack the West.’
“I am the only thing that keeps this from happening and Kouga with his big mouth is letting all of this happen. If there is anything left of the West and if I am still alive I will try to help Kouga rebuild because he is an ally, but I don’t have to like him. I also do not have to feel pity for him when all of his people are lying dead because it will be his fault and I will point that out to him.’
“Kouga stabbed me in the back, I do not take such things lightly and although I admire his loyalty to Inuyasha what he did was wrong. Inuyasha and I know what we do stays in the family. Inuyasha opened his big mouth to Kouga so about now he is regretting it immensely. I doubt Kouga is regretting anything as of yet.”

Sesshoumaru said honestly. He right now felt no pity or remorse for his actions other then what he did to Pearl and Inuyasha. He didn’t even regret all the things he did to Inuyasha. Some things Inuyasha deserved for being a little pain in his ass. However they had an unspoken agreement that was stronger than even brotherhood and Inuyasha would be saved because of that one thing.

“Is what he is saying is true?”

Mother asked her brothers.

The five of them nodded yes and so did the guards. It was going to be a cold day in hell and Sesshoumaru was feeling pretty proud of himself as he continued to mop the floor.
