True Confessions, A Virgin, and Brotherly Love

Chapter 5: Western Lands and Sesshomaru’s Castle

“What the…” Kagome turned around and made a mad dash toward the mansion. “Inuyasha!” she screamed. The shadowed figure in the bushes started running after her. Inside the mansion, Inuyasha had heard Kagome’s screams and jumped to his feet, having picked up alarm and panic in her voice. Miroku, who had not sensed this, asked, “Inu, are you sure she’s not just pleasuring herself? That could be a possibility, you know.” “No. Something’s wrong. This area reeks of demon. I can smell it!” Inuyasha and Miroku ran to Kagome’s aid.

When they arrived at the scene, Kagome was gone. Inuyasha looked up at the sky and saw Sesshomaru and Jaken flying away with her. “Oh, no! KAGOME! Where are you taking her, you bastard?!” Inuyasha screamed up at the sky, but Sesshomaru was gone and so was Kagome. “Inuyasha, maybe we should follow them,” Miroku suggested. “Right. You get Shippo, but leave the bike, as it will slow you down. I’ll follow Sesshomaru and you catch up as soon as you can,” Inuyasha instructed.

After receiving his orders, Miroku ran at full speed to get Shippo while Inuyasha left to save Kagome. “Shippo! Please wake up! Kagome has been kidnapped! We must hurry!” Miroku yelled. “What? What are you talking about, Miroku?” asked Shippo groggily. “Sesshomaru took Kagome. We must leave and follow Inuyasha before he’s gone.” When Miroku was done explaining the situation, they both set off for the journey ahead of them.

“Inu…here boy!” Miroku called and whistled in the way a human would call a dog. Inuyasha had been in the treetops at the time and leaped toward Miroku, drawing the Tenseiga. He landed and pressed the fully transformed sword against Miroku’s throat, saying, “If you ever, EVER call me like that again, this will go through to the other side of your neck. Got it?” Miroku gulped and said, “Yeah. I got it. Will you put that thing away, please?” Inuyasha could see the worried, shocked, and nervous expression on Miroku’s face and slowly moved the sword away from his throat, putting it back in the scabbard. “Let’s go before they get away,” Inuyasha said. “Right,” replied Miroku. He got on Inuyasha’s back with Shippo and they started for Sesshomaru’s castle.

Upon arriving, the three found themselves in front of two massive doors. They knew that somewhere in the castle, Sesshomaru was holding Kagome hostage.

Inside, Sesshomaru could hear Inuyasha trying to break the door and called for Kagome, his new servant. She walked in with a disgusted look on her face, carrying a tray with a bowl of grapes on it. He motioned for her to feed them to him and Jaken to fan him. “Eat shit, you bastard,” she said. This infuriated Sesshomaru and he hit her to the ground. The tray Kagome was holding dropped to the floor, the bowl spilling its contents and rolled toward Sesshomaru. He effortlessly stopped it with his foot. “That wteacteach you not to back talk, you wench,” he said coldly before ordering Jaken to carry her to her quarters.

There she lay on the cold stone floor, her whole body aching and shivering. Her head was throbbing from where Sesshomaru had hit her. ‘Is Inu coming for me?’ she thought to herself. What she didn’t know was that Inu and crew were outside, trying desperately to break open the doors. “Kagome…(thud)…damn it!” Inuyasha said after what seemed like the millionth try of ramming the door down. “Inuyasha, we should try to open the doors together,” Miroku suggested. “Ok, on the count of three…one…three!” Inuyasha yelled and with the combined force of the two men, they rammed the doors open.

“SESSHOMARU! Where is she?” Inuyasha yelled at his brother. “Who? Oh yes…my new servant. She’s in her room for disobeying me. I don’t know if she’s still alive or not, though. Jaken, go check her pulse.” “Yes, Lord Sesshomaru. Right away,” Jaken managed to say. “If she’s dead, I’ll kill you,” Inuyasha threatened. “Not if I kill you first,” said Sesshomaru, drawing the Tenseiga. (A/N: I know that there is a sword mix-up. I won’t rewrite my whole story over it so just bear with me, ok?) Inua dra drew out the transformed Tenseiga and lashed out at Sesshomaru. “I think we need to sit this one out. This is a battle that Inuyasha Ses Sesshomaru must fight alone,” Miroku said to Shippo. “Good idea,” she replied.

Meanwhile, Kagome, too weak to get up off the cold floor, lie thinking to herself. ‘If only I had listened to Miss Minero, I wouldn’t be here right now. I would be in Inuyasha’s arms.’ “I love you, Inuyasha, and I’m giving up my life for yours. No regrets…” spokspoke into the darkness and, having said those words, readied herself for eternal sleep.

Jaken walked into the dungeon and bent down to Kagome’s wrist to check her pulse as ordered. “She’s…gone,” he said, sounding as if he pitied her soul. “Why didn’t you just listen to him? You would have stayed alive, you fool,” Jaken continued. Silence.

Inuyasha knocked the Tenseiga out of Sesshomaru’s right hand. Sesshomaru fell flat on his back and when he tried to get back up, Inuyasha pointed the Tenseiga straight at his throat. “Now, tell me where she is. Where is Kagome, asshole?!” Inuyasha demanded. “There are three flights of stairs. First, go down the stairs to your left. Then, you will see where the stairs divide. Go down the stairs on your right. There is yet another fork of stairs. Take the stairs again to your right. You will see double doors at the bottom. Go through them and she is in there,” Sesshomaru instructed. “Left, right, right?” Inuyasha asked. “Correct,” Sesshomaru confirmed. Inu and crew dashed down the stairs at top speed.

Inuyasha, being in the lead, stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Jaken at the bottom, holding his head down. “I’m…sorry,” Jaken told him with true sincerity in his voice. Inuyasha busted through the doors, only to find Kagome’s body on the floor. Miroku held Shippo back, saying, “Leave him be. He needs some time by himself.” Inuyasha ran to her body and draped his body over hers. Everyone watched as he put his arms around her, drew her close, and wept the tears of pain, sorrow, and true love.

So, do you people hate me now? Hehe…I promise things will look better next chapter. Sorry that there wasn’t much of a fight scene. It’s really hard writing everything in past tense. Now, I beu’reu’re thinking, “How can she die after one hit to the head?” Come on, people…wake up! Kagome (a human) was hit over the head by Sesshomaru (a youkai lord)! Let me tell you now that it isn’t a pretty picture. Plus, she’s freezing to death in the deepest, darkest, and coldest dungeon. I’m trying to write in Sango somewhere. Well, I’m getting a lot of blocks baybeaybe if you give me more reviews, I might be inspired to write the next chapter. So everyone, tell your friends and start reviewing or I might just leave the story as depressing as it is! Also, so sorry about the whole Tenseiga, Tenseiga thingie. My computer is kinda screwin with me right now, but I'll get the kinks worked out.
