It was the first time in days she had heard the calling to her soul, the first lead her to the last spot she sent with her Maru-pup before the battle with Naraku. Now it was calling her again even Kilala had felt it as they left the area with the spring Kilala took to the sky.
The slayers panic as lights from the cave exploded outward engulfing the whole of the village in its light.
The center hut hummed with energy as if answering the overflow of power. Some of the villagers fled in fear others stood rooted in place waiting for the outcome of the strange occurrence.
Before their eyes, a woman appeared as if out of thin air pulling a gasp out the stunned onlookers. Then they swore the spirit of Midoriko walked from the cave as the jewel they had guarded so furiously over the years blasted from its placed and hovered above the two. For a moment the two stared at one another as if two parts of the same soul looking into their mirror image. The spirit spoke "You have finally come it has been so long since you were last whole Guardian. I had begun to give up hope of ever seeing you again."
"How . . . How is it you are here and now," Kagome gasped.
"I am a part of you, therefore, I am to follow where ever you go. Are we to be whole again now?"
"Hai, we are to be whole again," Kagome held her arms out wide as the spirit stepped toward her after giving a happy skip.
"Know this Guardian Kagome once we are whole the change will be final. There is no going back from here," The dark- hair woman/child spirit spoke.
"No going back. Is there where I m to meet my end in a time not my own?"
The woman/child stops a breath away from Kagome and stared at her with a curious tilt of her head and smiled brightly. "How do know this is not your beginning?"
"I am from the future I was born and was raised there. I am the reincarnation of Kikyo"
"Are you sure? The Shikon is an artifact of unknown power. It was inside your body was it not for years and no one ever noticed? Then in a world were no youkai is known to exist one appeared and just happen to attack you. And that same youkai pulled you into a place you knew nothing about yet you got along fine. You went back and forth between the two times never really feeling at home in either yet still you could not choose just one. Coming a hair away from death to save souls you knew nothing about. Stood proudly facing down creatures twice as big and more powerful than your human self yet you came away alive each time. You survived for years with only half a soul to sustain your body and still you lost the rest yet still you stand before me now. How could all this happen Guardian Kagome if you were a simple incarnation of a woman who would have given up her duties? When you have given up everything for your duty? How can you be from a place that believed youkai myths that offer you safety away from the cruel deaths around you and still return to the past?" She stopped her rant and looked to the stunned Kagome.
"Now think of this what if your change was just a release of what was already there? If the Shikon souls are so powerful wouldn't they cloak their guardian in such a way as to provide protection for you?" still, she received no answer from the shocked Kagome.
"Would not the Shikon want its guardian to be with free of prejudice against all things like the miko of the feudal era who hated all youkai? But you changed all that didn't you Kagome? Changed the way both youkai and miko see each other, but the prejudice remains in many of the old. Still giving way to the world you claim to be from. But this Inu Miko Kagome this your beginning. It is not enough to change one era in hopes of ushering in a new future, no you must change what came before to keep it from happening again."
"Change what came before so you mean none of happened in the feudal era ever happened? No one will remember Naraku and his evil?"
"This is a time far removed from his evil schemes. A time before the violence of two brothers. A time before the love of a hanyou and a miko. A time before the evil Onigumo was released upon the world. We are at the beginning, our beginning Inu Miko. In this time you will change the future. Fate has decided and now comes a time of change for both human and youkai kind."
"Me? How do you know this who are you?"
"Yes, you Inu Miko the first of your kind. In your body is what no one ever believed possible a true melding of good and evil, light and dark, a youkai with all the powers of a miko. As for me and I m you, of course, the part that linked you to the miko Kikyo. I am a piece of her soul she gave up to the Shikon to later become a piece of your soul. I have told you all that I am able now it is time."
"Wait will I forget then?"
"Fate would not put you through ordeals to have you forget. Especially one she herself created for this purpose."
The two hugged one another tightly not noticing the light from the jewel overhead had covered them. They left the ground as Kagome body pulsed in tune with the jewel as the light grew steadily brighter causing the onlookers the cover their eyes. Kagome felt an echo in her soul as if it was calling to something in every direction. Something within her told her in no matter what time the jewel no longer existed. In a brilliant flash of light, everyone was blinded for a moment. When they had recovered they saw no sight of either woman or the jewel, the cave rumbled then collapsed in on itself.

He was shocked when she appeared out of thin air. He had been traveling toward the village of the Slayers feeling the increased level of holy energy that hummed through the air. In the back of his mind, he thought it odd the energy disappeared when she reappeared before him but paid the thought no mind.
He rushed toward his unconscious nymph in shock he knew it was the same female but she had changed some. Her once midnight sky colored hair was now pure white, now adorning her face was blue stripes across her closed eyelids and one across each cheek.
Kagome's nose twitched at the new scent that surrounded her, it kind of reminded her of Sesshoumaru's in a way. She growled softly shocking the youkai from his intense stare.
"Kodomo -sama," she whimpered as she blinked her vision clouded by silver hair. As her vision cleared she was greeted to a heart-stopping sight. A youkai staring into her face with soft golden eyes, a deep colored stripe on each cheek had sliver bangs and a flowing silver ponytail. It was the portrait that had greeted her each time she set foot into the Western home of her Lord Child. "Inu no Tashio," she whimpered aloud.
He couldn't help but stare at the vision of beauty in his arms. Her scent was amazing; the power she radiated was unnatural for a youkai. Sure he got close enough to see her but never close enough to feel her ki. It brushed against his skin as if tasting him he shivered the feeling was new but not unwelcome. So lost in his thoughts that her soft whimper startled him. How did she know his name? But how? He knew he never saw her until the night he laid eyes on her. First, he frowned hearing her calling her pup but when she whimpered his name his eyes widen as he took her in.
"You have me at a lose my Lady for you know my name but I don t know yours," He flashed her a fanged smile that has melted quite a few females. A meow caught their attention as Kilala trotted from the trees. He almost whimpered as she sat up and moved out of his arms to pet the neko.
"My Lady" he spoke as her scent changed from clam to sadness so fast it almost made his head spin. " What is the matter, my Lady? Maybe I can help" he questioned.
Kagome was shocked from her sadness. She had completely forgotten someone else was present the sight of Kilala had made everything she just learned to come rushing back to her. The thought that stood out mostly they were stuck. Not only was she stuck in this time but so was the small neko who had companions elsewhere. She turned to the Lord and sobbed more if he was alive that meant they were farther back than she first thought.
"My lady, please tell me what pains you so?"
"I . . . we can never go home . . . Again," Kagome sobbed and fainted.
