4:� Past Uncovered

�� Kagome woke up the next morning and
couldn�t see anything.� She blinked,
trying to get her mind geared up.� She
noticed that her nose was buried into something that was warm and
vibrating.� Her waking lasted about 10 minutes
before she managed to get her head up, and her eyes focused.

�� She found herself looking up into a
relaxed Sesshomaru that was staring down at her.� His small displays of emotion didn�t quite unsettle her as much
as she knew it should have.� For some
time, she had been able to determine what he was feeling if not his thoughts.

�� For the first time, she noticed that
his eyes were not solidly that golden amber color.� They were tinged with a scarlet that tipped his emerging demon
off.� She looked up at him curiously as
he started to nuzzle her head like one would love on a pet that had well
pleased its master.

�� She allowed herself to soak up his
pleasure and found herself responding and nuzzling back.� Her naughty little body pressed itself into
him and absorbed the warm, loving feeling that was granted her.� It did feel nice to be loved on, and she was
lonely without her mate.

�� She shivered as his lips then tongue
grazed the skin of her shoulder and neck.�
He even rubbed his nose into the mark that Inu Yasha had gifted her
with.

�� As she found her back pressed into
the bedding, she kept her attention focused on what this demon was doing to
her.� Her mind was telling her that he
should be stopped, but her body refused to.�
Her instincts seemed to rebel against her mind as well.� So, she laid there as he sniffed and rubbed
his face into her body.�� He made his
way past her shoulders and breasts, even allowing a teasing nip across her
hardened nipples.� He stopped at her
lower belly where her baby was forming and lovingly pressed his face in there
and whined softly mixed with some low growls.

�� She noticed that his skin was so
soft and warm.� She kept looking down at
the scene that was playing out with her belly as a stage before realizing that
he had tugged her shirt up to right under her breasts.� His tongue was now bathing her and awakening
her nerve endings even more.

�� A moan snuck its way past her
lips.� His response was a pleased growl.

�� Sesshomaru allowed his beast to
acquaint itself with her body and the scent of the pup within her.� He enjoyed the moan that he had elicited
from her.� Something about it filled him
with pride.� She was still pretty
innocent, only knowing his brother.� His
brother, however, was as innocent as she was with his intimate knowledge.

�� A small twinge of regret went
through him as he acknowledged again his role in separating them.� He would take care of her just as he
promised Inu Yasha.

�� His tongue swept out and circled her
belly, taking in the scent of the pup even further.� It only lasted a moment longer before Kagome broke the trance
that had stretched out between them.

�Sesshomaru?� I think we should get up�� Her voice was a little hesitant and more
than a tad husky.� He knew she was
aroused from him, but she was also very sad.�
Her scent was heavy with it, and it laced through her desire.

�� He only nodded at her and got
up.� He grabbed some clothes and went
into the bathroom to freshen up.� Kagome
got up quickly and went through the clothes until she found some jeans and a
nice top.� She had just barely gotten
them up when her stomach let itself be known.

�� She ran into the bathroom and past a
half dressed Sesshomaru to the toilet.�
The next seconds found her crouching over it and completely emptying her
body of whatever had remained in it from the food last night.� Sesshomaru knelt down next to her and
stroked her back without a sound.� He
reached up and got a washcloth, wetted it and stroked her neck and face, trying
his best to soothe her as she moaned in discomfort.

�� When she relaxed back against him,
he swept her up and carried her back to the bed to lie down.�

�� Kagome watched as he stepped out of
the room and sighed.� Her mind whirled
as she thought about Inu Yasha.� It was
apparent that he was no longer alive; otherwise, he would have been there when
she got back through the well.� She had
to find out what happened to the father of her baby.� Sesshomaru had been all over her when she had gotten out.� For the life of her, she didn�t really
understand it.� Why didn�t he just leave
her in the care of her family?� Was it
just because of the life in her?� Or,
was it because she was mated to Inu Yasha?�
Was this just some custom?� If
so, why was he all the time touching and showering her with affection?

�� She hadn�t known how to respond to
his kiss yesterday.� Her only real kiss
had been from Inu Yasha.� The only thing
she could think of to do was to just go eat and then go to bed.� Thankfully, he hadn�t objected and left her
alone last night.� She had trouble
remembering the last time that she slept in a bed and more so alone.� She had problems remembering the last time
she slept alone anywhere.� It just about
had to be before she was 15.� She
laughed to herself about that.� All of
this over trying to catch Buyou.� That
fat dumb cat.

�� She shook her head.� The only way to get the answers that she
wanted was to ask him for them point blank.�
She then wondered what he did now.�
He always seemed to be one for management.� He was so calm, cool and collected.

�� She looked up and saw Sesshomaru
settling on the bed beside her with a cup steaming and a sleeve of crackers.

�My
understanding from Lena was that something dry and some hot tea settled her
stomach.� She is my secretary and keeps
my office in order.� She will probably
remind you of the old miko from the past.�
She had four children of her own and now has two grandchildren.� I have had her for many years.� Other than you and your family, she is the
only human around to really know about demons, and that is because of me.� When she was birthing her own and working, I
would see her keep crackers and made tea everyday to calm herself.�� He was doing his best to ease her by trying
to talk.� It didn�t come to him as
easily as it did others, making his words seem a little stilted, but Kagome
didn�t seem to mind.� Her smile was
radiant and wan at the same time.

�� He watched as she ate a few crackers
slowly and took some sips of tea before starting up the question and getting
them to talk just as he knew was coming.�
His dilemma was what he should tell him.� His main reason for Inu Yasha to not be woken again was the guilt
that the hanyou felt at killing innocent people and demons, mercilessly
slaughtering those that came within his line of vision.� Inu Yasha didn�t deserve to feel that.� He had only been trying to regain his mate,
and that is demon instinct.� That dead
miko was the first to really be destroyed.�
Her last words were only that her reincarnation had never belonged in
this time and needed to be sealed back in her own.

�What
do you do?�� Her first question
surprised him.
��
He had expected her to ask about her mate
or a multitude of other things, but she had asked about his profession?� He was a little incredulous, but he would
answer anyway.

Kagome shot out the question out of
desperation.� She was actually scared of
answers!� She was afraid to find out
what all had happened.� What had
happened to Miroku, Sango� Shippo�� Not
to mention all of her other friends.

�I
work as a private eye.� I own my own
little operation.� I have a secretary
and am connected to other firms, but we each have control of our own.�� He watched as she nodded and looked up at
him as if she expected him to continue.�
He sighed and went on to tell her how he had ended up in his
profession.� �It is something that lets
me use my demon hearing and smell.� I
get to work my own hours, and it is flexible.�
I answer to no one and it allows me perks.� It started with you mate.�
I had to track him without letting him notice me.� I tracked and watched the humans after he
confided in me before�� Although, with
him, I had to be more evasive than I do now.�
I can stay within my territory with the option to travel as the job will
take me other places.� I have changed a
lot over the years.� The police interest
me.� They are mostly
self-sacrificing.� There are some who
are corrupt.� But, they are fewer.� There are more who are blackmailed with
shitty little things than there are true corrupted officers.� I get to saturate my musing by working with
them from time to time.

�Sounds
like you enjoy it.�� He just nodded.

�What
happened� after I� left?� she asked hesitantly.

�The
slayer and monk did marry, but they traveled with me and tried to calm Inu
Yasha back to his rational side.� They did
have a girl during this time.� She
birthed one boy.� The line progressed
very slowly, but has flourished some over the last few centuries.� It is still quite small, but the descendants
are not too far away.� They live in a
small settlement and take care of a shrine that is dedicated to your friends
for their dedication.� Shippo and I have
made sure that they are well versed in the greatness that they come from.� The kitsune is all grown up and living here
and other parts of Europe as well as some places scattered around the
Americas.� He did eventually mate but
only after�� I think it was only about
one hundred years ago.� Kikyo perished at
the hands of Inu Yasha immediately after he couldn�t get through the
well.�� He knew that he was stalling
letting her know, but he also knew that he couldn�t lie to her.

�What
about Inu Yasha?�� Her question was
quiet and tight.

�He
was sealed to a tree again and remains there, concealed so that the outside
world cannot see him.� His demon went on
a rampage after it was unable to get to you, and the disastrous results were a
devastation for centuries until he was sealed again.� He made me promise that I would take care of you and protect you
and his pup.� I waited for the three
hundred years until you reappeared for the last time.� It took two hundred until a miko that was strong enough to seal
him to be born.� Ironically or maybe not
so, it was one of Rin�s descendants and the reincarnation of the old miko that
used to care for you.�

�Kaede��
she whispered.

�Your
ward had a happy life?�� He only nodded
at her.

�How
do you get around with your demon markings and how did you get your arm back?�

�� He laughed.� �You can see my markings because you can see
through the concealment that I have on-apparently effortlessly.� My arm is not mine.� It is a fake.� Missing an arm would make me stick out while observing people.� My concealment makes it look even more real
than it really does.�� He raised the
sleeve of his tee shirt and showed her.�
There was a very fine seam, and she would have said that it was a very
good prosthetic.� The color blended in
beautifully, and seemed able to feel with it.

�Computers
and all of the effects of them have amazed me for some time.�� His statement was simple but shocked her
nonetheless.�

�Umm�
I think we can talk more later, but what is going to happen now?��

�You
will stay with me and allow me to fulfill my promise.� You will also raise the pup that you carry, and I will help you.�

�What
will happen between us?� I mean� you and
me� er� uhm�� Nevermind,� she asked
tentatively, showing her embarrassment about her question.

�� His only reply was a quirked
eyebrow.� He knew what he wanted from
her, but was she ready to hear it from him?�
He would try his best to ease her into it.� Pregnant females, especially ones who did not have their mate,
could be easily upsetted, and he did not want to do that.

Well,
here is the next chapter.� I am soooo

fit him.� I wanted his changes to be
realistic too.� I cannot see him working
around somebody else�s time.

will just have to see what happens with the pup.� (If you haven�t read any of my other stories, I have an idea of
what I want to do when I start, but I never know for sure and often changes my
mind about some of the details and plot.�
It never changes from the beginning.�
It just kind of works it way out.)

Sesshomaru Crazy:�
Hey.� Some of that is in this
chapter, and some will be revealed as we go along.� I will answer what I can though.�
You guessed right.� That is part
of the reason that he is reluctant to tell Kagome.� He is afraid of the consequences and how Inu Yasha will respond.� There is a little more, like how he feels
about being her protector, but he doesn�t realize that yet.� Other than them spending their life trying
to help him and never settling down, he didn�t actually do anything to them as
of yet.� They basically had to spend
their lives trying to rein him in.� I
have him viewing them as pack mates that he would recognize since they would
carry his scent quite strongly.� I let
Inu Yasha remember what he did because his beast side and his rational and his
human side would be more in sync (yes, three sides) since his mating.� Kagome was running and just happened to run
in that direction.� They weren�t too far
away and were sleeping away from the village for some alone time.� (Grins.)�
��Thanks.� I like him being a P.I. too.� I think it fits this view of him.� Whew.�
